Xcelsius Dasboard / SAP Portal / Firefox

Hi at all,
I've got an issue with the combination of our Xcelsius Dashboard that use the new direct connection too our BW-System and Firefox as the presentation layeru2026
-     If I open one of my dashboards via IE all will work fineu2026
-     If I open one of my dashboards via Firefox the dashboard will not appear. After the progress bar the only thing I get is a blank screen...
Does anyone of you know the reason for this issue?
Best Regards,
Alex

Hi Alexander.
You could check if your Firefox is blocking popups i.e. blocking a possible variable popup for the underlying Bex Query. You can also test adding parameter &XC_MODE=X to the end of your link to the dashboard thus running the dashboard in the so called stateless mode without variable popup.
I've had some issues(context menus etc) with regards to Firefox and SAP EP but dashboards work ok(running them in stateless mode though).
Also check the browser support for your SAP Portal SP -level.

  • Why did the developers @ Mozilla drop SAP portal Compatibility?

A company I used to work for (and the company I work for) both use SAP over the internets, one for international work at the office, and one for working from home. According to both, Firefox 3.8 is the last known compatible version - and when contacted, the SAP developers said that there is nothing they can do.
I realize that I can use compatibility modes for the place I work for now, but there isn't time (it's a bother and a pain) at my old workplace to fuss with it. So, my question is, what's the big deal? I would like the long-winded, official version, if it is possible...

I assume the Mozilla developers don't use and have no knowledge of the details of the SAP portal. If they removed or changed something needed by the portal, they probably had no idea it would affect SAP's portal. So it is a mistake to consider it an intentional decision.
To find a solution, we need input from SAP or someone with intimate understanding of SAP's portal. If the developers can say "it no longer works because Mozilla removed features x and y" then someone can research why features x and y were removed and see whether there is a workaround. Otherwise, there's no way to answer your question.

  • Xcelsius and SAP BW Connection.

    Hi,
I have one query on the xcelsius and SAP BW connectivity.I have  designed one dashboard on the BW connectivity. That is fine.
My question is  if i export the dashboard in the Power Point or PDF it is not showing the real time data.in this only showing static excel sheet data.
Is it possible to show real time data in power point based on the BW connection  or users can only access .swf file only by portal.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
This is not possible, see also: Can I  export in Power Point or PDF Xcelsious Dashboard if BICS is used?

  • SAP Portal ESS SingleSignOn

    Hi!
We are facing following Problem in our Sap Portal Environment.
First of all SSO was working as intended. But after a Windows DC Migration with new computernames and new physical hosts we had to reconfigure SSO on our Portal-Servers. After the reconfiguration, SSO seemed to work again for everyone....but then some users started facing following problem (maybe 1 out of 100): That user cant login to SAP ESS via SSO. But when that person moves to another computer SSO is working there. So basically AD-Useraccount seems to be ok. So we thought "ok maybe a local computer problem". So a user with a working SSO tried to login on that "problem-computer" that had SSO problems. But SSO was working there suddenly with that user. So basically its not working only with that one useraccount on that specific computer. That user can login via SSO on every other computer and also other users can login via SSO on that "problem-computer".  We have several users right now that are facing that problem on their own computers.
Our Windows group says that they cant see any problem in their Active Directory and point with their fingers on the SAP Portal as error source. So my Question: Is there any chance, that this problem really has his roots in the SAP Portal. i mean SSO is working for like 99% of the users. only for like 1% its not working only on their own specific computers. On other computers those 1% can also login via SSO.
i would be really thankful for every idea!
    regards Alex

    Hi,
for SSO, the browser has to get a HTTP 401 from the server. The browser should than get the token and send it to the server:
Authorization: Negotiate YIIQCQYGKwYBBQUCoII long cryptic text P/TCCDBdxfqo=
If the browser cannot resolve the SPN, or get it wrong, the browser will ignore the 401 or send a short Authorization answer back.
What you can check besides the HTTP trace with the user::
    - Check if the computer of the user is in the domain and that the DNS is set correctly on that computer
    - Verify the logon process on the server with diagtool (complex but gives you every detail)
    - The users are using the same userID in the LDAP and UME?
    - All are using IE or some are using Firefox? In both the configuration for SSO has to be enables. IE: Windows integrated authentication + check the security zone. In FF: about:config and enter the correct domain.

    Tobias

  • Server Names exposed while accessing SAP Portal

We are using FireFox browser to access the SAP Portal application. We are running SAP EnterPrise Portal on NW 7.01. Our Production SAP portal is exposed to
    internet.
After the users log into the system, using Firefox browser, the server name is seen in the status bar of the
browser. This is a security threat, as the server names are exposed.
This issue is not there if we access the sameusing Internet explorer.

    Abdul,
    See this:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b6/8b9aea8d7c11d5bdd8006094191908/frameset.htm
The suspect is "User Mapping Type". It is probably set to "admin", instead of "admin, user". That is why you do not see the system when logged in as one of the users.
Also make sure users have permissions in PCD to the system.
If does not help, check other suspect as SAP help suggests:
The selected principal does not have end-user permissions for the system.
The system's logon method does not require any user mapping data for the system (such as "SAPLogonTicket" for a system that is not the SAP reference system).
The system's user mapping type is not set correctly or not set at all.
There is no system alias defined for the system.
There is no system landscape registered, for example, the one contained in Enterprise Portal.

    Slava

  • Com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap doesn't work

    Hi all,
I needed to change the file 'WinGuiRenderLayer.properties'
I found the par under 3 locations:
    d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
    d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp
I changed the file in those locations (I removed the bak extension and restarted the server).
Also, I made sure that the pars/directory contains the jar files.
After I restarted the server the application integrator iviews doesn't work (Web Dynpro, Transaction...).
Before I did the changes, I backed up the original pars/directory.
Copying the original pars didn't help.
    How can I solve this?

    Solved it.
    This is what I did:
    1) Took par from my production environment (same SP level)
    2) Clear the par (by using 'Archive Remover')
    3) Clear the pcd cache
    4) Upload the par (redploy)\
    5) Restart the portal

  • BI portal VS  SAP portal

    Hello,
We are thinking about implementing the BI 7.0 and publishing some reports with it in Portal. Question is should we use the BI portal or SAP EP portal?  We are already having SAP EP 7.0 installed and BI portal (with BI) is also installed.
For performance reason -- we should use the BI portal for report  and links these reports  in main SAP portal so user has one single point of to see the report from SAP EP.
My thoughts on performance on single source of (main) portal for BI and all the other stuff on main Portal  should not be an issue because all the work for querying the reports will be done in BI server, Portal is only show the reports ? is this assumption is correct?
If we have two portal, as system admin we have to maintain two different portals,
What be the best approach (pro and cons) using the BI Portal VS SAP Portal?
    Please advice.

  • SSO to J2EE application from SAP Portal

    Hi
I am trying to do SSO from SAP Portal to a J2EE engine which runs on SAP Web AS.
    Here are my queries
    1. When I deploy a J2EE application on Web AS , I dont get any login screen. How can I make sure that if a user wants to access this J2EE application he should get a login screen and provide his login credentials first, only then would he be able to access the J2EE application.
2.When I am done with Part 1. If a user tries to access this J2EE application from the Portal (asuming the user Id's in Portal and J2EE application are same and both are in the same domain) , I should not get any login screen and should be able to view the J2EE application.
3.I want to use SAP Logon tickets generated by the Portal to enable SSO.
I have done all the necessary configurations in the J2EE server.
    1. Imported the Portal's verify.der certificate.
    2. Adjusted the login modules stack for the application accordingly.
Can anyone please help me out with this or throw some light.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vivek
PS - Points will be definitely rewarded

    Hi Vivek,
Let me give you the solution for both questions differently.
<b>Ques 1. When I deploy a J2EE application on Web AS , I dont get any login screen. How can I make sure that if a user wants to access this J2EE application he should get a login screen and provide his login credentials first, only then would he be able to access the J2EE application.</b>
<b>Ans:</b> For doing this in the code of your J2EE application you have to write a if statement which will check if the user ID is coming from the backend or not. If yes then you display that logon page else you just pass that username which is coming from backend and displ;ay the page accordingly.
<b>Ques 2.When I am done with Part 1. If a user tries to access this J2EE application from the Portal (asuming the user Id's in Portal and J2EE application are same and both are in the same domain) , I should not get any login screen and should be able to view the J2EE application.</b>
<b>Ans:</b> Yes, this is what I am explaining you. Even I had also made same kind of J2EE application in which if the user is coming from the backend then he/she will look the J2EE screen else if the username is not coming then he will se the Login screen. Exactly same as what are looking for.
<b>3.I want to use SAP Logon tickets generated by the Portal to enable SSO.</b>
<b>Ans:</b> I have used User Mapping instead of SAP Logon ticket. Well that is also the option for SSO but personally I think User Mapping is easy and better way for implementing SSO.
I dont know whether this will help you or not. Please let me know. I can definately help if you want to implement SSO using User Maping.
    Regards
    Pravesh

    Hi experts,

Could you please let me how to restrict the unauthorized users (anonymous user) to the portal URL.
    https://HOST:50001//irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default .
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Maruti,
    Hope you are doing good.
Can't you just amend the portal permissions so that this access is not possible.
    The PCD location should be:
    com.sap.portal.system/security/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/no_safety/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher....
    Hope this helps.
Thank you and have a nice day!

  • How to access Sap portal login user in ejb web service

    Hi,

    Thanks for reply.
I have already added com.sap.security.api in my EJB module project classpath. How to add the same in EJB application Project (application-j2ee-engine.xml)?

  • SSO from Microsoft to SAP portal

    Hi guys,
I am stacked in something regarding SSO, the problem here is that I have to create and ASP.net application able to create the SAPLogOnTicket and bypass the SAP portal logon screen and everytime I am using may application I have not to log in again in the SAP Portal.
Anyone who have an answer or a working example, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Armando

    Hi Armando,
if your application is extranet application (you access it from internet) then you need to use citrix to    log in to the portal without asking for username and password.
if the application is accessible from the intranet then you need to identify the application in the portal landscape system. for more information on this subject you can read the following useful help:

  • Create SSO on SAP portal to ECC 6.0 EHP4 backend

    Hello,
I want to create a SSO connection form my SAP Portal server to my ECC 6.0 EHP4 Backend system.
My JAVA Portal is installed on the same system as the ECC 6.0 backend system.
For the configuration I follow the steps as described in the document: http://www.sap-img.com/basis/configure-the-sso-single-sign-on-for-portal.htm.
At point 5.3 I have to set the Backend System as "ACL" in the Portal. So Iu2019m still in the Visual administrator from point 5.2 but now I go to the path Server --> Services --> Security  Provider --> Ticket.
Here I choose the authentication tab and want to add the com.sap.security.core.server.jass.EvaluateTicketLoginModule. Buth when I press the Add button I get a list of available login members. In this list there is no com.sap.security.core.server.jass.EvaluateTicketLoginModule login module available. Does someone know what Iu2019m doing wrong or how I could add the correct login module?
I attach a screen shot from Visual administrator.

Thanks for you quick reaction but it's not all clear for me. So could you explain it a little bit more detailed fo me.
If I write something wrong please correct me. I understand the following
So If I am on the "Authentication" tab I press the Add new button
In the list which shows up I select the u201CEvaluateTicketLoginModuleu201D
Here I change the name and option value to trustedsys01=<PORTAL_SID>, <PORTAL_CLIENT>
