Xcelsius, downloadDocument?, Slideshow and BI Widgets (Parent Child)

Hi,
Does anyone know if BI Widgets supports Xcelsius SWF files that have been created using the scaled method; i.e. Using a Parent SWF linked to Child SWFs which are loaded into the slideshow component using the documentDownload? URL and a selector.
I am trying to access such a dashboard solution and deploy it onto the users desktop.
The dashboard works when accessed through Infoview using both the below relative and actual URL's i.e.
"../../../Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=AfYquYuuqxJPjbXesBEC6d4&sKind=Flash&CELogonToken="&$C$9
Or
"http://bo1:8066/Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=AfYquYuuqxJPjbXesBEC6d4&sKind=Flash&CELogonToken="&$C$9
The problem is I can not get the child SWF to download into the Slideshow component in the Parent SWF when it has been published to the dashboard using BI Widgets.
Questions:
1. Does anyone know if BI Widgets supports SWF Parent/child u201Cscale upu201D solution
2. If so what should the URL be to call the children into the slideshow??
Thanks in advance.
Pen.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your response.
I receive no error messages; when I try to load a child swf into the parent slideshow component I see only a 0% progress bar in the slideshow component. I have also tried also using the OpenDocuemnt.jsp and when I try this in the above aforementioned URLs I get a 100% progress bar - but nothing else. i.e.It never displays the child swfs and nor does OpenDocument.jsp work in Infoview.  The documentDownload? option does work in infoview but it does not work in BI Widgets.
I have also visited the Flash settings manager site and set the Global Security options to u201CAlways allowu201D  and have added the BOE servers and my C:\ and Desktop to the u201Callow locationsu201D.
When you say that Flash will not let you access files off the desktop what exactly do you mean? I'm not sure if this relates to me as I am trying to access files from BOE XI 3.1.
Thanks for the advice; I will also post this issue on the Xcelsius forum.
Regards,
Penny.

  • Is there a way to combine the best of slideshow and tooltip widgets?

    I am trying to produce a sliding menu similar to the "Now Playing" movies listed on this website : http://themoviehouse.com/
    where you can mouse over and a box pops up and stays up so that you can click links within the box. The catch is that I need this box to disappear when the mouse is not on it so that content behind the box is again visable.
    I have seen this on so many websites so I assume can build this in Muse.
    Obviously with tooltip the box does not stay open. With a slideshow, the box does not disappear when you are done.
    Is there a way to combine the two or is there another widget that allows me to create what I am looking for?

    Install the Apple Configurator (osx only) and it will cache the iOS update on there after it's been installed once.  From then on each device you plug-in will take the update from Apple Config without having to download it.  I have this setup on a macbook air and it saves me a lot of time.
    The updates are device specific so make sure you update one iPhone 4, one 4S, one 5, one iPad etc before heading out to sea.  I thought installing the update on an iPhone 4S will work on an iPhone 5 but the first iPhone 5 I connected needed to download.

  • Sequence creation for Super Type and Sub Type (Parent-Child)

    Data Model is structured with Super Type-Sub Type Concept.When data is being inserted in the Super Type table, I will be using a sequence Supertype.NEXTVAL as Primary Key.Now the same sequence will be the Primary Key for Sub Type table also. Can I use Supertype.CURRVAL during insertion in Sub Type table?
    If Yes, I have lot of records being created in Super Type table within a second. So before data is being inserted in Subtype table there may be chance of a row being inserted in Super Type table and if I use Supertype.CURRVAL it may lead to wrong data.
    How can I make sure that Supertype Primary Key is being inserted as Primary key in sub type table?

    What happens when you try it? Something like:
    session1> select t_seq.nextval from dual;
       NEXTVAL
         40061
    session2> select t_seq.nextval from user_objects;
       NEXTVAL

  • Issue to check in parent-child closure table attributes to OBIEE repository

    I use OBIEE 11.1.1.5 Administration Tool to open repository in online mode and set up parent-child hierarchy. There are no issues but after I check in changes to server, close repository and open it back from server, closure table attributes are missing.
    On the other hand when I save repository file locally, close it and then open offline, all mentioned attributes are there. Also all other modifications (except hierarchy) are properly checked in to remote repository.
    When I compare UDML from remote and local copy of repository here is part missing in remote:
    CLOSURE TABLE ATTRIBUTES( "xxx".."yy"."ORG_STRUCTURE_CLOSURE"."MEMBER_KEY",
              "xxx".."yy"."ORG_STRUCTURE_CLOSURE"."ANCESTOR_KEY",
              "xxx".."yy"."ORG_STRUCTURE_CLOSURE"."DISTANCE",
              "xxx".."yy"."ORG_STRUCTURE_CLOSURE"."IS_LEAF")
    When trying to build web report I get "[nQSError: 38107] Not all four columns are defined for closure table" (which is actually not surprising).
    Unfortunately I need to do this change in online mode without restarting obiee services.
    Any ideas how to force admin tool to check in all changes to remote repository?

    Finally I applied workaround:
    - modified hierarchy in offline mode
    - deployed repository
    Now when importing repo in online mode closure table parameters are in place.

  • Dynamic Security in a denormalized Parent-Child dimension Table

    Hi guys, I need your priceless help again:
    I have a parent child relationship in a table with a fixed depth, let´s say Region-->Area-->Country
    I denormalized the table to have something like this
    Then, to implement dynamic security, I think in a bridge table with the userId
    and the CountryId, then with a measure group and a measure which count the combination of user/country I can proof the security using the non empty function.
    My question is how can I also set security for the levels above the leaf members, let´s say, I want to assign an user to the Area level or Region Level. I don't know exactly which key could I include in the bridge table.
    I may want to keep the id´s of the original table in the different levels.
    Any comment will be appreciated.
    Kind Regards,

    Hi Paul,
    According to your description, you want to apply dynamic security on parent-child hierarchy. Right?
    In Analysis Services, when a dimension contains a parent-child hierarchy, we can't set up security directly on the key attribute. Because it will not appear on the dropdown list of Dimension Data Security in Role editor.
    In this scenario, we need to filter on key attribute and not the parent-child hierarchy. Then use Linkmember() to find the equivalent members on the parent-child hierarchy. Please refer to the expression below based on a employee dimension with parent-child
    hierarchy.
    Generate(
     NonEmpty(
      [Employee].[Employee].[Employee].Members,
       [Measures].[Employee Count],
       StrToMember('[User].[User].[' + UserName() + ']')
                 LinkMember(
                     [Employee].[Employee].CurrentMember,
                     [Employee].[Employees]
    Also I suggest an excellent book:
    Expert Cube Development with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services. It talks about this scenario in chap 9.

  • Xcelsius Parent/Child SWF Loader with BICS Connections

    We have several Xcelsius Dashboards that use BICS connections to retrieve data from BW queries that we'd like to combine into one Parent/Child tabbed dashboard. I can't seem to find solid information on if this is possible using a SWF Loader component due to the BICS requirement of being published through BW Portal and not InfoView. Does anyone have any ideas (short of combining them into one huge dashboard due to the volume of data)? Thanks!

    Hi Chris,
    I have been working with SWF loader on the SAP portal using the BICS connection type. It was not supported last time I asked about a year ago. However, it can work if you specify the URL in the SWF loader in this way:
    http://sapwebdisp.vestas.net:8103/bicsremotebex?SWF=XXX&TIMESTMP=1318867468000
    XXX is the name you publish your child dashboard under. Data can be exchanged between the parent and child dashboard by using the custom component "Data sharer" from Inovista which can be downloaded for free:
    http://www.inovista.com
    Besides the fact that this setup is unsupported there are some limitations so from my point of view it should only be applied under the following conditions:
    1. It is not possible to build eveything into a single dashboard.
    2. A solution having several independent dashboards does not make sense.
    An alternative might be the setup described in note 1526291. The way I understand it, it binds the dashboards together in a similar way as on a BO server with flash variables.

  • Circular Parent-Child relationship among widgets.

    I am trying to draw a Bar Graph on a panel which in turn sits on the main
    window. The height policy of the panel widget is set to SP_TO_PARENT so that
    when the window is resized the panel is also resized according to the parent
    window. I have a situation that every time the panel is resized I need to
    scale the Bar Graph in accordance with the new panel size and draw it. But
    before drawing the newly scaled Bar Graph I am clearing out all the children
    of the panel ( I am doing this just to refresh the panel) and then drawing
    the newly scaled Bar Graph. But this does not work!!! I still find some
    left over from the previous Bar Graph!!! Any help in this matter is greatly
    appreciated.
    Also I don't understand this circular parent-child relationship. If I assign
    a NIL to Parent attribute of all the children of the panel, what will happen
    to the Children attribute of the panel? Won't there be any memory leak by
    adopting the above procedure of disconnecting a child from its parent? If
    so, how do we take care of it?
    Thanks in advance!
    Alaiah Chandrashekar
    The following is the segment of the code which could be useful for clarity:
    // Draws the Bar Graph for the first time.
    self.ShowChart(TestData);
    self.Open();
    event loop
    when task.Shutdown do
    exit;
    // When the window is resized
    // I am scaling the Bar Graph for the new
    // panel size.
    when self.window.AfterReSize do
    self.ClearChartPanel();
    // self.window.UpdateDisplay();
    self.ShowChart(TestData);
    end event;
    self.Close();
    Method ClearChartPanel is as follows:
    for child in self.<ChartPanel>.Children do
    child.Parent = NIL;
    end for;

    Hello Evandro,
    I am listing the steps to create a relationship manually.
    1. Create 2 records in the relationship table in console, one for "Married to" and the other one for "Owner". In order to do that the repository needs to be unloaded.
    2. Once you create these 2 records in the table through console, load the repository.
    3. Log on to the Data Manager.
    4. Now as per your example, there are 3 records in the main table, namely
         JOHN
         MARY
         ACME
    5. Select only one record in the record list area e.g. JOHN (where you see the list of records)
    6. Then, in the record edit area, double click on the relationship tab,
    7. New Window opens up.
    8. HERE ALL THE OPTIONS ARE GRAYED OUT. But Select the relationship which you want to create, in our case married to.
    9. Now select the record MARY in the record list area. (NOT in the pop window, but main window).
    10. Then on the top bar menu, select Relationships --> Adds to Group.
    11. Now close the Pop window and observe that the relationship has been created between JOHN and MARY.
    Let me know if it worked for you. if not, post some more information about your problem such as where you tried to configure and what options were grayed out.
    Please update.
    Thanks
    Shai
    I need to do a relationship among the BP where each record in Main Table correspond a BP (Person or Organization).
    The relationship should link the BPs as shown below:
    Records
    1; John
    2; Mary
    3; ACME
    In record 1, I need to say that John is married with Mary, where Married is a type of the relationship and that Mary is Owner of the ACME, where u201COwneru201D is other relationship type.
    I have tried to configure a Relationship (where the parent and child tables were the Main Table) in MDM, but I couldnu2019t to do it because the screen for this feature was locked. I need to be certified that the child link exist in the repository.
    Thank you.

  • Incorrect totals from cache with CustomRollupColumn and non-parent-child dimensions

    Hello. Before I start let me apologise for my English :)
    We have a very complex cube, with 2 (actually more, but only these 2 are important) parent-child dimensions.
    One of them has CustomRollupColumn defined.
    Not long ago we have decided to make refactoring of our cube. This also included making these dimensions non-parent-child.
    All our old reports started to work much faster after that... but we have mentioned that sometimes they show incorrect totals, or no totals at all.
    We spend a lot of time trying to figure out what's wrong and finally we had found that if we clear cache before next refresh of the report - the totals are always correct!
    If we don't clear cache - we get wrong totals second time, and each next time after that. If we see wrong totals - we could clear cache and get correct totals once again.
    If we use "Real Time Olap=True;" connection string parameter - the totals are always correct because cache is not used.
    But we don't like this workaround.
    Is there any fix for this bug? Google shows that this problem exists from SQL2005, and still we have it :( Also, there is adivice to set CalculationCoverPolicy to 9 - we have tried - but it was fruitless.
    And if we revert these 2 dimensions back to parent-child - all working fine again, but as slow as it was before the refactoring :(

    Hi Bateks,
    Glad to hear that your issue had been solved by yourself, thank you for you sharing which will help other forum members who have the similar issue.

  • Graphs and parent-child with loops and duplicates

    There is a parent-child relation in the table t(prnt, chld) which allows duplicates (A->B, A->B) and opposite paths (A->B, B->A), and complicated loops. Is there a way to identify rows that form any separate "connections network" and assign a "name" to them of any kind (letter, number, wahtever)? I try to use WITH recursive clause to identify and group rows belonging to one graph but with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
    thank you

    Frank, I posted inputs for all graphs (multiple inserts) and some allowable outputs for one graph. For all cases (ie. graphs) the rule is the same:
    1. identify all nodes belonging to a graph
    2. "name" that graph (min, max or whatever you like)
    3. print the output in the form (node_belonging_to_a_graph, name_of_the_graph) for all identified graphs
    And as you said, I am somewhat flexible. I don't want to constrain the problem with saying min, max because it's not important how you name it, but the way which is somehow natural and fits with requirements is the usage of nodes' values.
    You ask me if (1,1),(2,1),(3,1) is also OK as an output for sample graph (1,2)+(2,3). Yes it is. It is one of those I posted but with additional node which is chosen as a name for a graph. But as you can guess it doesn't matter which node you choose, and the additional information about a node named with its own name is not as important and the information that all other nodes are named with that name but it is 100% acceptable. If you changed the naming convention and started to use letters instead of node values then yes, it would be a must to have the output in the form (1,a),(2,a),(3,a).
    You also ask me about the result for 90x data inserted as 5 rows: (901,902)..(906,904) and present sample result:
    901 902
    905 902
    906 902
    And the answer is no, it is not good result. It misses the information about the nodes 904 and 903 which belong to this graph too. The correct result could be:
    901 902
    905 902
    906 902
    903 902
    904 902
    or any other "combination" which presents 5 nodes with the name of the sixth (in this case of 6-node graph). Just one have to be picked, it doesn't matter which one. The "vertical" order is also irrelevant.
    As you can see there is a lot of room that gives acceptable result. I don't want to constraint it because it can influence performance which is important when dealing with graph structures in relational databases (RDBMS are not predestined to easily cope with that sort of information). It can also influence the chosen algorithm and I'd like to pick the fastest one which gives acceptable result.
    Two numbers x and y are in the same group (graph) if (and only if) at least one of the following is true:
    (1) they appear on the same row together (it doesn't matter which number is in which of the 2 columns), or
    --(2) x appears on the same row with a third number, z, and z is in the same group as y--
    (2) there are other edges (entries) in the table that form a "path" from x to y. And because the direction of the path is not important for the problem (ie. the parent-child table structure can be forgotten for a moment), the path means "there exists connection" between x and y aka "you can walk from x to y".
    The output consists of 2 columns: id (which is unique in the result set) and grp (which identifies the group) *[correct]*
    The id column will always be one of the numbers in the group *[correct]*
    It doesn't matter what the grp column is, or even what data type, as long as it distinguishes between the different groups. *[correct, but as you noted using one, picked number from a graph is the prefferable way]*
    If there are N distinct numbers in the group, I need N rows of output for that group, with id showing all those distinct numbers. *[correct, but if you choose your naming convention as naming a graph with the value of the node belonging to it you can ommit the node which is named for itself (but it doesn't hurt is such row appear in the result)]*
    You ask me if the graph is directed. No it's not. Your example (x,y) and (y,x) is great, and it can be concluded from my first post when I say that "opposite paths" (A->B, B->A) exists. What matters is the connection between the nodes. The parent-child table somehow imposes that direction is important, but for this problem it is not.
    One of the motivations for my post is to know what other people think without affecting their minds with my approach. I don't want to skew anybody's mind into my solution which works, but it's not effective. I don't mind showing it but I kindly ask you to think about the problem before I post it. Diversity of approaches helps to distill the best one.
    As I said I did it with the usage of sys_connect_by_path. If it doesn't appear to you as possible usage then it is likely that I don't use it efficiently. Please understand, I will post it if you ask me one more time but if you can live for a while without my inefficient solution and suggest something with WITH clause I would appreciate it.
    There is no exact result I expect. There are many results which are correct and acceptable. They all must follow the rules described at the beginning.
    Thank you

  • Parent-Child Billing and Invoice Presentment

    Hello gurus,
    Have a question around parent-child billing where the business scenario is that a global HQ represents the single bill-to for multiple ship-to locations across the world. The idea is that the Global HQ receives a single invoice for multiple children and ideally a summary page detail as well as the specific invoice for that child.
    In terms of splitting the billing documents I suppose there are 2 routes:
    1) Standard splitting of billing documents (controlled via Copy Control) so that each distinct Ship-To generates its own billing document. Then the billing documents would need to be grouped together somehow for sending to the single Bill-To - not sure how that grouping could occur after the Billing Documents are generated?
    2) Break the splitting of billing documents by Ship-To so that a single billing document is created for all ship-to's for a single bill-to.
    Any help on this or whether one of these is the correct approach?  The issue is complicated further by the fact that we would like to product a summary page for the global bill-to stating the summary values of all sold-to by country.  We have considered using a heavily customised print program tool to add up the ship-to figures for display on an invoice but not sure if SAP can create this 'grouped summary calculation' itself?
    Apologies for the long windedness - any help much appreciated!

    In copy Control maintain Requirement as 003 and check if the desired outcome is achieved.
    regards,
    Rajesh Banka
