Xcelsius error binding prompt from BW Query

Hi all,
We have BW queries feeding WebIntelligence reports who feeds one xcelsius dashboard. These webi reports have optional prompts (more than a dozen) coming from BW queries which I have to bind to Xcelsius spreedsheets cells, when I try to do that I receive an timed out error message. I'm guessing the problem it's the size of list of values coming from BW queries. I already tried to use the Delegate Search option in universe but no success. What's happening? Someone has any ideas?

Error creating Universe from BW query

Hi
Creating the Universe connected to BW query (BI 7).
Connection is proper and universe designer is connected to BW system without any problem. I have already used many queries to connect to universe and webi documents has been developed.
The only difference in this BW query is, it is using hierarchy with 'derivation type' in 'select hierarchy date'.
BW query is working as expected in BEx designer.
This is the error message when trying to create the universe from BW query -
Error getting dimensions for cube <infoprovider name>/<query name>(catalog <infoprovider name>): Unknown error when executing MDX
Product name : SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Client Tools SP3

I have a Report from SQL Query in Portal 3.0.9. When I select Excel in Output Format and then run the report, it works properly, but when I select HTML in Output Format, the report works if the rows returned are not so many (I've been able to display the report for up to 701 rows), but when I try selecting a value from the LOV that selects many rows, I get the following error:
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: <data suppressed>
The following error was encountered:
Zero Sized Reply
Squid did not receive any data for this request.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Why does the number of rows returned affect the report this way?

Xcelsius Error when Calling from 1 DB to another in BOE

I am trying to link two dashboards(parent and Child), and am getting the error "404 page cannot be displayed"
"documentDownload?iDocID=38732&sKind=Flash"
When I call the 2nd dashboard from 1st from BOE, the updated Link is:( this link gives me the error: "404 not found")
http://<BO Server>/Xcelsius/jsp/Flash_View/documentDownload?iDocID=38732&sKind=Flash
I manually modified the link and tried to open the SWF file it worked.
http://<BO Server>/Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?iDocID=38732&sKind=Flash
Do I have to make any changes in the Server for this to work. Please Help.
PS: I used the opendoc link and it worked, but, when I migrate the Dashboard from Dev to QA/PROD. Opendoc link will point to the same server after the migration.

Try to use the following URL:
/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=38732&sKind=Flash
Just ommit the http://hostname part.

Webi Report showing incorrect prompt from bex query

Hello Gurus:
I am facing a unique problem.
I have a BEx Query which has a variable. I have built implement a BADI which restricts the variable values for the BEx Query.
I have created an Universe on top of the BEx Query. And I have created a webi Report on top of the Universe.
The Webi Report when run does not use the Webi Prompt values, in other words it ignores the restrictions that I have placed on the variables. Instead it displays the whole list.
Am I missing anything. Can some please help.

Binding data from BEx query to Google Maps

I have been able to create the SDK and install the Extension. I can see the Custom Components. I have added a BEx Data Source with Location and values. I have bound the source to the component, identified the Address Dimensionand and the Red Markers field. When I run it, my data is not diisplayed.
To utilize this Extension, do you have to write extra code? I have been searching everywhere and I am not finding any assistance.

The individual reports in the books are running fine.
PS. The report books that are giving this error run fine on 9.3.1

Problem comes when any of the filter is applied in any one of the cases selected from the GUI.Do you mean that the problems only shows when you run the report in your browser via 9iAS?
Which version are you using?
Can you post the before report trigger?

1) Check product availability matrix (PAM) if everything is on supported version.
2) Upgrade to some latest patch of 4.0
If this does not help then I would recommend, raise it directly to SAP Support team.
Probably you can open connections to your BW system and engineer can directly check the query you are using.

Issue with Results from Another Query (Error on Null value)

Hi All,
We have a WebI report using "Result from Another Query" option of BO XI R3.1. The report was running fine till recently the dimension object using result from another query had a null value. Report suddenly throwed error as the query filters are invalid.
Is there a way to make this filter optional if no data/null value is there ? Because we need those null values in report as well.

Hi Vivek,
It was not directly solved but I applied alternate logic to over come the issue.
Here's what I did to overcome:
I used a sub query in place of the whole result from another query.
For Ex:
Dim1 inlist result from another query1
I made it as
Dim1 inlist (Dim0)
where Conditions.
Here Dim0 is the object which we use for Result from another query and Conditions will be the necessary filter conditions to arrive proper Dim0. Make sure proper context is formed for the sub query.
Even though it resolved my problem, It introduces an new issue. It causes increase in query run time when huge set of data is returned from sub query.
Please let me know if i haven't explained clearly.

Error connecting to BOBJ server from Power Query

I am getting this error when I try to connect to the BO server from Power Query;
DataSource.Error: SapBusinessObjects: Unable to connect to the remote server

I know my server is otherwise up and running. No problem connecting to Launchpad or CMC or IDT.
This is the 1st time I am using Power Query. What is missing?

This is a generic error about not being able to reach the server.
You should make sure that there are no typos in the hostname and to include the port number, which is 6405 by default.
e.g: http://powerquerysap:6405/biprws

There are two things that are probably causing this error.
Line 22 in your HTML looks like this:
</style><!--[if lt IE 9]>
You need to remove the closing style tag:
</style><!--[if lt IE 9]>
Also in sesem.css, there's a missing closing brace on line 486:

There are other problems in your CSS, but fixing those two items should put you back on the right track.
