Xcelsius Present 2008 to Powerpoint 2007 export issues

I have had the trial version of Xcelsius Present for 10 days. The show-stopper is the "Send to Powerpoint" feature. When exporting to Powerpoint, I get an x'd out box on the Powerpoint program. Entering and exiting the Powerpoint slideshow does not produce the graphic. In fact doing so, and right clicking the mouse produces the message "movie not loaded."
I have tried various Flash global security settings to no avail.
The PDF export works, as does the Word 2007 export.
I really like the functionality of the program, but the Powerpoint export, or lack thereof, is a huge problem.
Your thoughts?
I am working in the following environment:
Xcelsius Present 5.3.0.0 (downloaded 10 days ago from SAP site)
Adobe Flash player 10.0.45.2 on both IE and Firefox
Excel 2007, Powerpoint 2007

Thank god that someone is feeling the same way - I have tried to access information through the forums (without putting direct question) and found it so difficult as everyone is speaking in IT jargon.
I am currently developing an analytical tool for the chartiable/social economy here in Scotland and we want to use Xcelsius to create a final product. However it has taken me quite a while to learn this "intuative" product and get over all the teething probs, and now, like you I am wondering how to give people a paper version. (Especially as you can't use the print button on Present). Screen shots seem like the only away around this. Although if you do convert it to a PDF you can get all the pages (if you have used tabs), but not the interactivity....
It would be interesting to know how others get around this - I would imagine it would be something like putting dashboards up on a webpage - something we can't do with Present!

Have installed Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008
Seemed like big improvement - smoother and no crashes.
But -
Exported to PowerPoint, closed everything down. Opened PowerPoint file and nothing.
Exported to PDF - said that I should upgrade to new Flash program. Installed Flash 10. - Opened PDF file and nothing.
Please help

Hi Bruce,
Try exporting to .SWF and seeing if you can run that without a problem.
Then try importing that .SWF into PowerPoint to see if you can set that up without a problem.
From there we can see if it is an Xcelsius issue or another PC issue.

It applies to Xcelsius Present only.
FP2 installs over FP1. No uninstall or new keycode is needed. Please unzip the download before attempting to install.

After the upgrade in Help > About your Xcelsius version number should be 5.1.2.0. (Build 12,1,2,439.)
Fix Packs are cumulative meaning that all the fixes from FP1 are included in FP2. So FP1 does not have to be installed first.

Where can I find assistance to install Xcelsius present 2008

Hello all,
I recently purchased Xcelsius present 2008 and when I installed it in my computer it requested it a key code or validation code. I entered the code that came with the software and I got a message saying that the code is invalid. I have only been able to use it on the trial mode, but the trial period is about to expire.
I contacted the people from BOSAPAmerica, and they kept asking me for a valid code for them to reset it, and I sent them the only code that came with the box, and after a few emails back and fourth they couldn´t provide me with a solution.
I would appreciate any help, assistance or contact information from anybody that would be able to help me solve this issue, Im concern that by the end of the week I wont be able to use it even though I paid for it.

I got the problem solved. There is a section on this website that has a series of "SAP Notes", that provide solutions for problems reported by users.
There are 3 SAP Notes that deals with this issue:
SAP Note 1275298
SAP Note 1279492
SAP Note 1200927
My IT used the instructions shown in the 1275298 and 1200927 SAP notes and solved the problem

Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix Pack 3.1

Hello all,
I wonder if anyone has been successfully downloaded
Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix Pack 3.1 (17.03.2010) from
Support für Business Objects/Software-Downloads.
I got a XCELSIUSPRES03_1.EXE file, witch is a self-exe rarfile.
The main file (packages/XcelsiusPresent.msp) stay corrupt,
even when downloading serveral times.
Anyone has this problem, too? Remember, I mean Present,
not Engaged/Enterprise.
Please help.

Download the latest fix (ie Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix Pack 3.4) , it is working fine. I am using the same.

Problem Loading Service Pack1 for Xcelsius Present 2008

I am trying to install Service Pack 1 for Xcelsius Present 2008. When I entered Product Key, I get error that product key is not valid. I called customer service and they verified that product key is valid. They sent instructions to change preferences for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE but the "Business Objects" section is not there. I did change the "Crystal Reports" preferences, but still had problem with the product key.

I was unable to get the key accepted (Windows 7, my user account does have administrator rights). Right-clicking Xcelsius Present 2008 shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator" did the trick. The program is now licensed.
Have to wait til tomorrow evening to play with this, though.

Exporting Issues from Xcelsius Present 2008

I am having issues with exporting from Excelsius Present 2008. Version - 5.0.0.99 and Build 12,1,0,247
PDF - When I export to PDF, it creates a file but doesn't display it
Powerpoint - It does not export a ppt file to the destination folder
Word - It does not export a doc file to the destination folder
I have been unable to export anything from Xcelsius
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,

Make sure Excel 2007 and latest flash palyer is installed before you install excelsius..This is mandatory for every xcelsius installation..

I can not export from Xcelcius Present 2008 to PowerPoint or Word

I can successfully export to PDF, but not to PowerPoint or Word. I have Excelcius Present 2008, version 5.2.1.0, build 12,2,1,94
I have MS Office Standard Edition 2003 SP3. My operating system is Windows XP Professional, version 2002, SP3
When I go to the Flie/Export menu and select PPT, it asks me for a file name and where to put it. After naming the file and selecting the folder to store it in, I click OK and I get a small window that says "creating SWF file". After 3-4 seconds that window disappears, but it seems the file is never actually created. I search for it in the specified location (or even on the entire computer) and it can not be found. Also, I understand that Xcelcius should open PowerPoint immediately after the file is created, but this is not happening.

From the description, you got the error message "message interface has returned an unknown error." when exporting Outlook data to a PST file, correct?
Based on my research, this issue may happen if one of the following two conditions is true:
There is some internal problem with Microsoft Outlook messaging interface.
There is corruption in PST file.
If it's due to Microsoft Outlook messaging interface, this issue should be fixed after restarting Outlook. If it is caused by Outlook PST file corruption, we can try using the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) to scan and repair your PST file. By default,
we can find the Scanpst.exe tool under:

Xcelsius Present 2008 - Chart Title

I created a Dashboard with a Line Chart and 6 Label-Based Menus. Because of everything I have on this chart, I felt I was forced to set this up with 6 individual Label-Based Menus versus using only one Label-Based Menu. Basically, it's a chart with 6 questions and each question has 3 lines on the Line Chart. My challenge is when I click on each Label-Based Menu, I want a Chart Title to appear. This isn't happening because the only place to create a chart title is in the Line Chart Properties. Normally, this would work but it's not because of having so many Label-Based Menus on one Dashboard. I took a screen shot of this, but I don't see anywhere here I can attach a file. ANY HELP or advice would be INCREDIBLY helpful. I'm new at this and struggling with trying to learn this program for a new client.

Not sure I understand the scenario completely. Sounds like you could link the title in the line chart to a cell and use a formula to populate that cell with the correct title text. Same could be done with using a test label ins stead of the title property of the line chart.

Presenter 7 - PowerPoint 2007 Tables

I am using Adobe Presenter 7 with PowerPoint 2007. I have
added some tables to my presentation. The text (default Calibri
font) is illegible after publishing with Presenter.
If I save my presentation in 2003 format and then publish,
the text looks fine, but other images look bad.
Any advice?

Presenter 7 installs, but no "Adobe Presenter" menu in PowerPoint

System: Windows Vista SP1 with Office 2007.
Presenter 6.1 has always worked for me without issues.
I saw that Presenter 7 had been released, so I grabbed the
trial version, uninstalled Presenter 6.1, and Installed Presenter
7. Installation completes without issues. However, when PowerPoint
is loaded, there is no Adobe Presenter menu present. I followed the
instructions in the release notes for enabling a disabled add-in,
but Presenter was not listed as an add-in (disabled or not).
I've tried a repair installation, I've removed and
reinstalled, nothing gives me the Adobe Presenter tab in PowerPoint
2007.
Anyone else experience this and found a solution? I can't
wait to get my hands on Presenter 7, but if I can't get it
installed, it's useless to me.
For now, I reinstalled Presenter 6.1, and it is back and
working fine.

To answer this, first we need to check if Adobe Presenter is installed on the computer system we are dealing with.
The easiest and the quickest way would be to go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Program Features and check within the list of instralled applications.
Once this is verified, launch Microsoft Power Point 2007 and click on the MS Office button on the top left.
* From the drop down, select PowerPoint options.
* Click on the Add Ins Tab on the left hand pane.
* On the bottom of this page next to 'Manage' click the drop down list to select 'Disabled Items' and click 'GO'.
* A second box would appear. On this smalll box click and highlight Adobe Presenter Com Add In from the list and click on 'Enable'.
* Close Powerpoint window and relaunch MS Powerpoint.
* You should now have the Adobe Presenter Tab available on the top menu bar for MS Powerpoint 2007.

Adobe Presenter 7 and PowerPoint 2010. No Import audio from presentation button

In Adobe Presenter 7 and PowerPoint 2007 I have the ability to import existing audio narrations by clicking on Import and then clicking the "Import from presentation" button. The button is missing in PowerPoint 2010. Any ideas on how to get it back?

In PowerPoint 2010; "Import Audio from PowerPoint" is missing .We have logged bug for this. And we will definitely fix this in next release of Presenter. Please use PowerPoint 2007 to use this feature.

Xcelsius Present - Pie Chart Does Not Display

I am evaluating a trial copy of Xcelsius Present and I am having trouble with creating a Pie Chart. I have imported my spreadsheet and have made my data selection, but the pie chart does not display. I have used Crystal Reports in the past and have never run across the problem. I have tried to create and import a new spreadsheet with the data needed for the pie chart, but I have the same problem with the chart not loading. This problem does not occur with other charts that I am creating.
Can anyone make a recommendation on what to do?

I'm having the same problem with the Xcelsius Present 2008 evaluation copy (5.3.0.0).
No matter how pie chart data is formatted, there is nothing displaying.
I'd like to know whether this is a known bug or whether this is only in the eval copy. This would prevent me from buying the product.

It applies to Xcelsius Engage, Engage Server and Enterprise. Not Xcelsius Present.
There will be another announcement for Xcelsius Present 2008 Service Pack 2 when it is released...
Please make sure you download the zip file and extract it to your hard drive before attempting to install.
The Service Pack is a full install so you do not need to have a previous version of Xcelsius 2008 installed.
When you are upgrading a previous Xcelsius 2008 installation you need access to your original Xcelsius 2008 SP1 installation files from the original location otherwise you will be prompted to locate Xcelsius.msi from the original Xcelsius 2008 SP1 installation (in the SP1 installation packages folder).
After installing in Xcelsius Help > About your Xcelsius version number should be 5.2.0.0. (Build 12,2,0,608)
