XCelsius Report

Hi All,
I want to Creat a XCelsius Report and filter by Sales Employee . When we change a Sales Employee then Column Chart show
Sales OrderValue and GrossProfit .Please give me a suggesion how can i do this type of XCelsius Report.

Hi
This error message refers to the value placed in the File > Preferences > Excel Options > Maximum number of rows.
You can edit that value to be 3000.
Best practive would be to reduce as far as possible the number of rows in your dashboard model, though and I wouldn't recommend as high a value as this.

Hi,
Unfortunately, scheduling of the swf files are not possible at the moment.
You can manually export the swf to a network location.

Integrate Xcelsius Report in WebDynpro for ABAP

Hi all,
I would like to integrate Xcelsius reports into WD for ABAP. This shouldn't be a problem if using EHP1 in ERP backend.
But what I would to do is to influence the report's behaviour. E.g. by clicking on a button I want the report to change.
Is it possible to trigger events from WD ABAP into an integrated Xcelsius report?

I believe this is a duplicate question to another thread, but SAP supplies both a Flex 2 and Flex 3 version of the FlashIslands SWC. Just use the Flex 2 library.

Broadcast XCELSIUS reports from Portal

I am not sure if your issue is clear for me.
But unfortunatelly if what you want is send your report by mail for all your users, this feature does not exist as default.

Linking two xcelsius reports

Hi,
I want to hyperlink two xcelsius document. How to acheive the same? I have created the second visualization using flash variables. But I am unable to pass the parameters from my first report. If you can share the hyperlinking syntax that would be great.

Hi Ingo,
This xcelsius visualization is not built on SAP BI. Its the normal OLAP universe. I am unable to pass the value to my flash variable created in xcelsius report. All the documents give the syntax as http://<webserver:8080/../openDocument.jsp?IDocID=<value>&sKind=Flash&lsS<Flashvariable_name>= <param value>
But its not working for me in BOXI 3 environment. My xcelsius report is getting opened with the previously saved flash variable value.

Creating xcelsius reports in boe3.1

Hello! Experts,
Please tell me how to develop xcelsius reports in boe3.1? I used Crystal Xcelsius for that purpose but it takes only excel sheets as datasource. My data would change as per day to day transactions so need to use odbc (for sqlserver) as datasource. Do we have something that would connect my database to that excel sheet?

And i would like to prepare my report similar to the link provided using above data.
Also, when I generate a Column Chart for Sales by Material by month and Sum_of_netprce/Material it gives me Multiple months for each and every material. Can you also help me on this.
1) I have used Label Based Menu for generating Year from source data.(within which i have used filtered rows and selected the source and the destination)
2) I have populated the MaterialGroup using List Box from the destination data.( also i get all the materials related to that particular Year, when i click on Year)
3) Also, generated Top 100 materials using List View from destination.
I want my report to be dynamic, ie., if i select an Year, it should show me the Months, MaterialGroups, the Column Chart Etc. and vice versa.
Any kind of advice is appreciated.

Hi,
RSRT is tcode Query debugging.
You can set the Query properties there and can execute the report and findout whether its running fine or any warnign messages its giving......i.e , whether everythign is ok withthat query or not.

Hi Sandeep,
I was not visiting site for quiet some time due to project schedules.
Here is a trick to make Dashboard secured.
Keep an object covering the whole canvas/page of dashboard with required transparency %. On that keep a UserName and/or password field to validate. Once validated make the object covering the data invisible.
This is a successful method which has been in practice already. Revert in case you need more clarification.

First thing you need to move from Xcelsius Present to Xcelsius Enterprise.
There are lots of articles in SDN on how to get connected with BI systems. A quick search will provides lots of details.

Error while accessing Xcelsius report via LiveOffice

Hi all,
We are getting error "Persisted view cannot be loaded u2013 LO 26620" when users try to run Xcelsius dashboard having some 5-6 BEX queries in it.
The crystal reports(base for dashboards) get hanged for long and sometimes throw the error "Request timed out because there has been no reply from the server for 600,000 milliseconds".
Could somebody suggest the cause of these issues and how can we resolve them.
It is critical ,will really appreciate any advice on that.

We managed to resolve the issue.
Actually our BO server is a clustered one having two nodes (say NodeA and NodeB).
For each report that is used in dashboard we changed the following settings:
Default servers to use for processing:
Default servers to use for caching:
and set it to "Give preference to servers belonging to the selected group (NodeA )". Earlier we had selected "Only use servers belonging to the selected group (Node A)". That made the difference and dashboard is running fine now.
With the previous setting it was throwing the error
"Crystal_Report1" is not allowed to use Report Application Server "NodeA.ReportApplicationServer1". "NodeA.ReportApplicationServer1" is not in the specified server group."
Though issue got resolved but still it would be great if anyone can provide an insight on it.

How to pass parameter from xcelsius report to WebI report

Hi,
I have a pie chart in xcelsius. When user clicks on one of the slices of the chart I want to pass the selected slice value to a WebI report.
For this I am doing following steps
1. When user clicks on a chart slice the selected slice value will be written into a cell say B1
2. Create a URL button which will get triggered on change of the value of cell B1.
3. Set the URL value in the cell say C2. Here I am using Opendoc function to open Webi report.
If I enter following value in C2 and run the report it works fine and opens the desired webi report.

Is there any other way to open the WebI report from xcelsius?

Hi Peter,
the link provided refers to Xcelsius V4.5.
In Xcelsius 2008 you have to control Flash Vars in the Data Manager.
Go to the Data Manager, Add the Flash-Var Connection Type, Select CSV-FlashVar and define a name and a range.
But i am not sure if Xcelsius Engage can handle FlashVars, because i am only working with Enterprise.
Please take a look at your manual.
For sure there are other ways to import data during runtime. Take a Look at the Connections provided by Data Manager. (e.g. QaaWS, SSRS, LiveOffice, Webservices, ...)
Also take a look at the link below. It might be another nice option for "pseudo" data connectivity

Hmmm, that is what I thought. This is totally weird that you cannot even find out who published out there and when. We are facing an issue where developer find that some of the existing QaaWS queries they published are being modified (or so do they think). I am not sure if I can give them an answer as to who might have done it, if at all.
Secondly, how can I even look at a "query" built using QaaWS? Like I can pick a report or univ file on the FRS, I don't think the query object physically exists as a file, does it? The only object associated with it that I can think of is the WSDL, which does not have the query details itself.

Can Xcelsius report published on Portal

I have developed some reports using xcelsis ,I want these reports to be published on Portal
When I try to export it ,its getting stored in My Documents & Settings
so its not possible for others to access it
Please let me know how every one can access these reportsl through portal ..

Hi Sany,
By using xcelsius 2008 you can publish or export your dashboard to different applications like flash, word, outlook, powerpoint, html etc. Also if you are using Business Objects Enterprise you can directly publish the swf file to the repository i.e. Infoview( If your client machine is connected to the server).
Once exported to infoview you can save it to Public folders from where different users can access the swf file. You can use the infoview portal from the client as well so there is no need to log on to the server everytime.
Apart from this if you will export your xlf files to any other application like word powerpoint etc it will be stored on your hard drive. However if you want this file to be used by everyone you can also store it on shared network drive.

I saw on a post somewhere that SAP support had stated that XRS wasn't compatible with SQL server 2008.
Is that correct? I have hit an error.

Generally, we may see the error messge "Default appdomain failed to initialize" in the application log when try to start Reporting Services if the RSreportserver.config file has been modified unexpectedly. At this time, I suggest that you back up your
current RSreportserver.config file, and then check the config file referring to the following article:
RSReportServer Configuration File
Note: The RSReportServer.config is located in the <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer folder.
If you cannot find the exceptions in the RSreportserver.config file, please post the config file so that we can help you to check it.
Meanwhile, please also check the Reporting Services Log file to see if there are any error messages related to the issue. If there are, please post the error messges as well. The Reporting Services Log file is located in the <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft
SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles folder.
