Xcelsius "Scenario" button

Can you someone let me the path of Local scenario file. I saved the scenario file by "Scenario" button but I can't find where the file is stored from the PC.

Hi Thijs
Thanks for your update, I think this really helps me. And I have one more question.
I have seen a SAP notes regarding the Scenario function, the content is as below.
You use the Local Scenario button to save the final result of a specific simulation (created scenario) and return to it in the future. It only saves the scenario on the local machine where it was created. So you can access the scenario from the same machine, but you cannot transfer scenarios from one computer to another.
As per the note we can't transfer scenarios from one computer to another, my question is: If we publish the dashboard to inforview and save the scenario, the scenario will be saved in the BOE repositary or still on the local PC, and could the scenario be able to share among different users?
Thanks a lot

  • Xcelsius URL Button limitation

    Hello,
We are using URL button to pass varibles from Xcelsius model to WAD templates but we have a problem, we are not able to pass more than five variables because it looks like there is a limitation in number of characteristics that can be passed using a URL Button.
Is it true if yes do we have any work around?
    Thanks for any input

The length of the URL depends on what web browser and what server software you are using.  Some information follows:  IE 7 with Tomcat: limit of about 740 characters (because "Get" is used, and more characters are added onto the URL in processing causing IE to reach the max of @1083 characters).  With IE7 and IIS, the url can be a lot more characters (I haven't found the limit yet).  Also, with Firefox and Chrome and Tomcat, the url can be a lot more characters.  Hope this is helpful.  The main thing to do is use preview mode and save your snapshot as an excel file.  Then you can open the excel file and copy and paste your url into a web browser in order to debug.  Hope this is helpful.

I'm on OrgModeler 3.0, with DB2. I tried to create a scneario and load it. In the application, it looks like it is able to create but it can't load the scenario. Here's the log. Does anyone have any idea? It looks like it is related to database. Perhaps authorization? database settings?

I am having a similar problem with Org Modeler 3.0 Microsoft SQL. On creating scenarios it lets me select the orgunit for the structure, but on the popup that checks off the creation tasks it gets stuck on "Importing data...".
I have tried it many times and there is also a create scenario button on the popup as well that looks like it just starts the process over.

  • How to make scenario editable

    Hi All
I am new to ATG. I need to create a Scenario, but in ACC the New Scenario button is inactive. I dont know how to configure process-editor in scenarioManger.
Please help me out with the necessary steps to make it active.
    Thanks
    Prasanna

    You have two ways.
    1. delete the dss_server_id table and start your server before any servers starts using the same db.
    2. Create a localconfig file at this path /atg/scenario/scenarioManager.xml with below content
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <scenario-manager-configuration>
    <scenario-editor-server>
    <server-name><host>:<drp-port></server-name>
    </scenario-editor-server>
    </scenario-manager-configuration>
Note in above configuration, its the drp-port which you can find in /atg/dynamo/Configuration from /dyn/admin

  • Click Regenerate ODI Scenario  prompts error

    Hi,Experts
we create an "Import Format" object whose Source type is "Other",and we also create a source adapter which copied from standerd Adapter followed by the ERPI admin guaid.when we done, click the "Regenerate ODI Scenario" button, the web form prompts an error alert with the information "An error occurred" and nothing more.  The  version of FDMEE is 11.1.2.4.0.79 .
I search for the log file, the file:aif-webapp.log contains the infomation like this: Caused by:com.sunopsis.tools.core.exception.sunssimplemessageException:ODI-15005:DataType "Numeric" does not support in technology Oracle. All our databases are Oracle,we don't have any other type DB,so it shouldn't has any Numeric columns in our table; besides, In FDMEE , we could only access the web console to manipulate the ODI, in the odi console could not view and modify the DataType.
I wonder if it is a bug, Anyone can  give us some help? Thanks !

Your question was little ambiguous to me actually. Do you have mutiple package under one folder or only one package having multiple scenario.
    Have you seen the doc?
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/integrate.1111/e12643/scenarios.htm#ODIDG471
Replace: Overwrites for each object the last scenario version with a new one with the same ID, name and version. Sessions, scenario reports and schedules are deleted. If no scenario exists for an object, a scenario with version number 001 is created.
Re-generate: Overwrites for each object the last scenario version with a new one with the same id, name and version. It preserves the schedule, sessions and scenario reports. If no scenario exists for an object, no scenario is created using this mode.
Creation: Creates for each object a new scenario with the same name as the last scenario version and with an automatically incremented version number. If no scenario exists for an object, a scenario named after the object with version number 001 is created.

  • Xcelsius 2008

I have a dashbord with local scenario button. After saving and loading a few what if scenarios and swaping between them with the load button, the dashboard goes crazy and starts mixing data from different scenarios. Any idea why this is happening? Please help!!

    Dear Amit,
Many thanks for your answer, really an eye-opener for me.
I tried and my setting was 100KB... I did a trial creating many scenarios and monitoring the used flash cache until I reached 100KB, the I was asked if I wanted to increase or not (I know I can do it manually, I just wanted to see what happened at reaching maximum) If I say yes the new scenario is loaded, If I say no the scenario is not even saved, which makes sense. My issue is that sometimes a local scenario which was already saved before (because there was enough memory) does not load properly and starts mixing data with other scenarios.... Is it posible that the flash cache is being also used by a different program and takes part of the memory? the Adobe web page says this is not a problem. Any other thing you may think of?
I will increase anyway to 10MB just to avoid any problem and keep runing teset.
    Many Thanks!

  • Print Button creates huge data

    Hello guys,
we are on Xcelsius 2008 and we use the print buttons in nearly each dashboard. But we must notice that using the Xcelsius Print Button creates huge data in the print queue.
    Example:
If I print a simple dashboard (bar chart with just one data row) with right click-> print it creates about 2 MB on the print queue.
If I use the Xcelsius Print Button it creates over 100 MB on the print queue and it takes nearly one minute until the print popup disapears.
Could somebody give me an advice/help ?
    Holger

It is quite unclear what you are saying. Are you saying you have a button which you have called "Print"? Does this button call Reports to generate a pdf file? What product versions are you using? Do not say "10g" or "9i" as these are product names. Please provide the complete product versions and tell us what platforms (operating systems) you are using for client and server.
yes i used print button, yes that print button call reprorts to generate a pdf file, oracle forms 10.1.2.0.2 frant end oracle apps, i used windows 7 O S 32bit.
it's not giving current data it's giving old data in pdf file . If i press 3 times save button then i press print button then it's give the current data befroe press the save button directly if i press prin button it'showing err request id process 2547 like

  • Working Offline on Xcelsius

    Hi Experts ,
I have created a dashboard which picks the data from the Qaaws Query . I have exported my dashboard in to PDF file and then I saved my PDF.  Now my CMS server is down . But i want to see the data in the dashboard . I mean i want to work on the PDF offline .
Exporting dashboard to pdf will not take data in to it . Please correct me if I am wrong?
    Thank you .

    Hi,
If you have a snapshot of excel with all necessary information, then you can create swf file on the snapshot.
using the option Export Setting in Xcelsius.
If you need again on Demand refresh(while users are with in network), you can use some button, which again map with refresh on trigger in Connection Usage.
    1.  To create PDF with Default Excel Data (Offline Data), you need to create Xcelsius with button to trigger refresh.
    2. Go and preview the report, click the button to refresh the report.
    3. Create snapshot of the report in Excel and save.
    4. In Export setting configure to use this Excel snapshot and Export to PDF.
Since we are not configured on load, it will not go for refresh while loading swf/pdf.
    So you can workoffline.
    Regards

  • URL Button to Document on Shared Derive Not Working in SWF

I have been using the Xcelsius URL button to open / direct users into EXCEL files on a shared drive.
The functionality works in Professional 4.5 and in the Preview pane in 2008 Engage (which I just downloaded).
However, the functionality is not working in the SWF export of my dashboards from 2008 Engage.
I am receiving the following message:  Cannot Navigate to External URL
The functionality will work from a PDF export, but nor SWF or HTML.
I have tried all variations of Encode URL box, and open in existing or new window.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When you run a SWF file locally (not in the Xcelsius designer) by default Flash security settings do not let you call a URL or access files.
Refer to the Adobe Flash Player Security Restrictions section in the Xcelsius 2008 SP3 User Guide: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/xcelsius2008SP3/en/Xcelsius2008SP3_user_guide_en.pdf

  • Local Scenario Component:"Maximum Number of arguments"

    Hi Experts,
We have built a Dashboard and we are trying to add the local scenario button, when we are using the formula for Simulation the following error is being Popped Up:
"More Arguments have been specified for this function than are allowed in the current file format"
Is there any other work around for this problem???
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    NRR

    Hi Raja,
Local scenario button is used to store the scenarios of the swf. It is stored in the Flash cache memories and should not have any relation with the execution of any formula.
From the error message, it looks you are trying to pass more parameter to any of the Excel formulas. Check your formulas and you should be able to figure out what is breaking.
You could check the same without using the scenario button to see if you still see the error message.
    Thanks,
    Amit

  • B1i Dashboard message

    Hi,
I installed the b1 integration server.
If I start now the dashboard I got the message.
Error: The requested dashboard does not exist. Dashboard: /com.sap.b1.dashboards/0010000100.sap_dashboard_001.dab001/default.html
If this dashboard is newly imprted, ensure that the SAP Business One EventSender Server has been started; then wait for several minutes and try again.
The service is running. B1 version is B1 8.81. The message is in the widget window not in a message box.
    Regards Chris

Just to pass along some useful information, I opened a case with SAP on this issue and they promptly returned a solution that worked for me:
    1. Open B1i Framework UI (Start > Programs > Integration solution for SAP Business One) and log in
    2. Press SLD in upper menu. Check that your companies are listed under B1i Server node.
    3. Click on company you want to use, press Test connection buttons (there should be no error)
    4. Now deactivate cockpit in your company in B1 - Disable My Cockpit and also disable cockpit in General Settings
    5. Run EventSender Setup (in first step try to avoid using localhost or IP addresses), in third step press Test Connection, in fourth step make sure that your DB is marked as checked, press also Recei ver button and then Test Connecion. Finish EventSender setup
    6. Go back to B1i Framework UI, click Scenarios in upper menu, then select Control in left menu and (re)activate Xcelsius scenario.
    7. Restart EventSender service in Servies (Computer Management)
    8. Now you can enable cockpit in your company in B1 - enable cockpit in General Settings and then enable My Cockpit
Please also check B1i user licence (it should have B1iINDIRECT_MSS and B1i licences assigned).
If there are more companies on your demo server, please wait little bit longer after steps 6 and 7.

  • Setup new cockpit for different company

    Dear Forum,
To make new cockpit for differebt company, i see the steps that to be needed :
below is how to install dashboard for multiple companies on the server.
    1) create new SLDs (with new IDs)
    2) export com.sap.b1i.dashboards BizStore
    3) fix Info.xml, Deployments package, copy old dashboards and set them new names with corresponding IDs.
    4) import new package to BizStore
    5) Set Up event sender with new companies
    6) In the Integration Framework -> Scenarios -> Scenario Package Setup:
    6.1) turn sap.Xcelsius scenario off
6.2) push button Sender, activate new companies
    6.3) turn sap.Xcelsius on
    7) disable dashboards and cockpit in target companies
    8) re-start event-sender, Integration Service
    9) enable cockpit and dashboards in target companies.
no 1 i already done and test connection ok, but no 2 - 5 how to do it? which module i use it?

    Dylan,
For step #2, you need to open the B1if Tools and there you will have an option on the to export different aspects of the BizStore.  There is a drop-down for what you want to export.
Once exported, you then need to use an xml editor to make the changes and then once done re-import the changed files.  You setup the new company information in the SLD option in B1if.
    Hope that helps,
    Eddy
