Xcode 5.1 freezes while I open my project.

if I open Xcode separately i can create a new project,etc.. But if I open my existing project.. it for some reason freeze.. nothing opens..
I thought it was a caching issue and i deleted an xcode cache file in caches directory in Library.
Thought my codebase is corrupted and deleted my project and rechecked out all of my code base. But still having the same issues.
I logged off and restarted my machine many times.. But no luck.. Any ideas? My other colleages dont have any problem in opening the same project.. Please help

AE freezes while Opening Project

Been working on a project these past two days. Nothing over the top complicated in it. Animating text/solids with an audio bed.
However this morning, while loading up the project, it froze at 33%. Had to Force Quit, try again. Nothing. I've actually taken the project file, brought it to another computer, which opened fine, then saved it as a new project, then brought it back to my computer which only let it work for about another hour - until giving me another freeze while working in the project.
I tried resetting my preferences, Purged the memory, brought to the other computer to transfer into a new file again. No go. Keeps freezing at 33%. Please Help

What Michael said - more info. Could be anything from some CoDec in your footage that differs across systems to the usual graphics card and driver issues to something being bad with your MediaCache....

Why does my entire computer freeze while opening or using After Effects or Premiere Pro CS5?

Just built a computer to meet all requirements for Adobe, Autodesk 3ds Max, and UDK, for school.

As for anything else giving me issues I haven't noticed anything besides a previous Graphics Card wasn't supported very well at all with 3ds Max, it would freeze while using the material editor which was fixed with replacing a GTX550 ti with a more compatible GTX480. Thought maybe the upgrade would also solve the fact that almost everytime I go to start up and/or use After Effects or Premiere Pro CS5 my whole system freezes. Whether or not I'm doing anything, it occasionally happened during "Scrubbing" the timeline, but also during the splash load up screen. Would take the time to wait for several minutes but nothing would change. Hard reboot was needed. After countless hours of searching online I stumbled upon what is called an "Unlock" for Premiere Pro/After Effects to allow accelerated GPU and CUDA cores. Simple procedure, seems as if things go faster... When it is working. But still, I encounter freezes on my entire system. It isn't a crash back to Windows or anytihng. Just a complete freeze on the entire system. I have not extensively used other Adobe programs besides Photoshop quite briefly just so I could open menus and force a freeze within 5 minutes and noticed nothing wrong. Which in AE & PP just running through any of the menu windows can quickly cause a sudden freeze.
note* I have alternated shutting off and turning on OpenGL as well as multiprocessing. Doesn't matter, it really doesn't seem to change much of anything.
Alas, I am absolutely sure, after checking and re-checking 80+ hours over the past 2 weeks that yes, everything is updated as far as each individual program, software or hardware will allow me to update them. I have reinstalled Windows as well as each program up to 3 times, and 1 system (restore?) I had Windows dump everything, started from scratch, backed up nothing. To reinstall everything from scratch, while not installed several "Utilities" or software components from stuff like the Motherboard and its XFAST USB/LAN or whatever, thinking maybe it was cluttering up anything.
Please, if anyone has any ideas upon this and could give me advice, whether you notice any other incompatibilities or anything. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
note* I do not have a wired Keyboard or mouse to disable the USB plugin and attempt that route.. at least not yet, its on my list of things to do. Also, I did run Memtest86+ during a boot and it claims that everything there had passed 100%. I am not "overclocking" anything either. I just wanted something I could work smoothly on, that would have decent rendering capabilities. I used to use my girls' laptop which was an HP with 3GB RAM and never experienced crashes or freezes and I could use AE, PPro, 3ds Max with some lag but not any issues. Rendering took forever on it, but I usually avoided that 'cuz it would start heating up pretty fierce. Saved my rendering for school computers where I could. But either way, now I have this expensive piece and it is getting frustrating that I cannot work on it.
note* Also, incase it does help, I have Windows as well as any major components installed onto the C: drive (aka SSD for my system) while all my secondary software, such as Adobe, Autodesk, etc. are all installed directly to my D: drive (or HDD) And everything is set up to go through Windows Firewall as well.

Thanks all. I have just tried a few things, installing them onto the C drive as you all specified as not being one of them. I can understand it, but at the same time i have a classmate who has their software on a seperate drive and it runs smoothe. I'm on my second GPU in 2 weeks, unless I have terrible luck it seems doubtful being that I can run games and a majority of the software no problem. Through further testing around with a corded mouse and keyboard I've noticed the following...
The computer freezes entirely only when I'm performing a "scrubbing" action or using a mouse. Left clicking, scrolling, or moving it around. Otherwise if I do not use the mouse and I make all my actions, such as "scrubbing" in AE via "Page Up & Down" keys, there's no freeze and it preloads the preview no problem.
"Scrubbing" does not load a preview (the green bar doesn't load at all while scrubbing). But, also noticed no matter how smoothe everything is running in 3ds Max as well as PPro, once I start performing a "scrubbing" action with whatever timeline I use, it will definately freeze my whole computer, Windows and all. Hard reboot is neeed.
With having gone through 2 GPU's, done a full memtest via Windows 7 and Memtest86+, there seems to be no issue with my memory or GPU. Like I said, I've run UDK without an issue. Whether the editor or game. The USB doesn't seem like it's the cause, I've used both wireless as well as wired keyboards/mouse. Still freezes, but now only when using a mouse to "Scrub".
Is it possible my motherboard could be incompatible somewhere? I mean, really.. everything is brand new but 2 weeks of troubleshooting.
And I do plan on trying to run my software off the C drive, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something else, like I said, I've seen and used a computer where it all runs off the D drive and it runs perfectly, actually better on his computer than off the C drive at my schools. So if it is an issue would it lie within the fact that I'm using an Nvidia GPU? Considering my classmate is using a AMD/ATI Radeon or something like that.

Why does reader freeze while opening some pdf files and others open instantaneously?

I use pdf files created from CamScanner and shared from DropBox. In DropBox, many times (over 50%) while opening the PDF the process freezes and the error message is Adobe Reader is not responding. If you close the program, and re-open the file, it opens fine. I have saved these files to my computer and the same issue occurs. The files are 100-500kb, so I do not think size is the issue. I have reinstalled Reader (11.1.10) and there is no improvement.

Mac Apps freeze while opening

Hi,
My Mac Applications are freezing while opening. Mail, Safari, Calculator, Textedit, Preview, and Mac Help Viewer all freeze up either upon opening or as soon as I try to interact with them. Other apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, MSN Messenger, IE, and Word work just fine.
I have used Disk Warrior to reapair the HD and I have used Disk Utility to reapair permissions. I don't know what else to try.
Any suggestions?

AE CS6 freezes while opening a project file

Hi, I have been working on a project for past three days and this morning when I try to open the project, AE CS6 freezes at 66percent. And my MAC stops responding too. I need to force shut AE to get back in order.
This is what I have already tried:
- Renaming the project file. No go
- Opening the project in another installation of AE. No go
- Importing the file in another new project. No go
Note that the last work I did in that project was using the dynamic link between AE and premier pro. I imported a premier pro sequence into AE, put it onto an AE composition and color corrected some footage. Then I imported the AE composition into PP and exported the final movie. This morning when I try to open the AE project where I imported the PP sequence, I am unable to do so.
Could this be that the dynamic link has a bug that caused a memory issues?
Please help me troubleshoot !!!

Project freezing while opening

My PPro CS5 has suddenly started freezing during the opening process of loading the media assets. Nothing has been changed and everything was working fine. I have added nothing new that would cause a codec blip or such, just png's. Any suggestions on why this might occur and how I can get it to reopen?

This is a known bug and there is a fix. Unfortunately know one will say when!!!!
The fix is to delete your preview files and re-save. If you can't open a project to do this you will have to open the last Auto-Save project and try again.

ITunes opens only in safe mode; freezes upon normal opening (possible solutions that I found to similar problems don't seem to apply)

Hello. I've encountered a problem with my iTunes that I would like some help on solving. My computer uses Windows Vista. iTunes recently began to freeze as soon as I opened its window. On two occasions, it appeared to work the first time after turning the computer on, but would freeze upon subsequent openings. No error messages are given. It will either freeze while saying "Accessing iTunes Store," or without saying anything at all. However, iTunes appears to work just fine when I open it in safe mode (holding Shift + Ctrl while opening), although I have not yet attempted to sync a device while using safe mode. I attempted to update iTunes to its most recent version (10.6.3.25) after first experiencing this problem. The first time I tried, it didn't work, saying that "errors occured" during the update. I disabled my antivirus software (Kaspersky Antivirus 2012) and tried again. This time, my computer said that the update was successful. However, the freezing problem has persisted.
After looking through Apple support and other discussion topics, I found several things to check for (relating to similar problems) as follows. I checked for them, but they don't seem to apply to my situation. Here is what i found.

Check for third-party plugins in the following two folders:
-C:\Users\username\App Data\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins\
Result: I found this folder, but it is empty, even with "Show hidden files and folders" enabled.
-C:\Program Files\iTunes\Plug-ins
Results: I did not find a "Plug-ins" folder in this directory, nor in the iTunes directory in Program Files (x86). However, there is a "Mozilla Plugins" folder in the (x86) directory, containing files "npitunes.dll" and "npitunes.xpt."

Result: These do not appear to be installed on my computer.
I also found something about Bonjour service, and that some people's similar problems were temporarily resolved when disabling Bonjour and reopening iTunes. I tried this, but it did not make a difference.

No error messages are given. It will either freeze while saying "Accessing iTunes Store," or without saying anything at all.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 (8.1.0) freezes while scrubbing timeline

Using a Mac Mini (late 2012 model), running Mavericks 10.9.5

I am also using a 2TB Fantom G-Force Megadisk external HD to store all my media. It is connected via a Firewire 800 cable
I've been having a lot of trouble with Premiere Pro CC 2014. While scrubbing through a project, a frame will all of a sudden freeze in the program monitor. I have my processors displayed on my menu bar and I've noticed that whenever I run into lag time or freezing the 8 processors won't all be firing, usually just one is actually working at that time. I am also only running one program at a time as to not tie up my processor.
All of my source files are usually AVCHD. Most of my work is under 10 minutes long, so they are just short corporate videos not feature length movies. I understand that editing native files can really slow your processors so with my latest project I consolidated and transcoded in the Project Manager to Apple ProRes in order to test that. Even with that I'm still having the exact same problem.
These are some other steps I've taken to correct this:
I've contacted Adobe several times and they told me that the Graphics Card is known to have problems and to contact Apple. I contacted Apple and they said there are no known problems with that Graphics Card it sounds like a software issue. I ran a disk permissions test and uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Same problems. Nothing has worked.
I've trashed my preferences as well
Really it seems that both Adobe and Apple are pointing the finger at each other. All I want to do is edit my videos without having to restart Premiere Pro every 10 minutes.

This seems to be an issue for me A LOT too. I can't keep Premiere open for more than 2 minutes at a time right now. The Customer Service rep from India did a "Team View" on my computer before and after 45 minutes finally fixed the issue. But I can't seem to get a hold of customer support right now. I hope you and I both find a solution soon. Good luck!

My iMac freezes while using safari. I have Mavericks installed

Several times my iMac freezes while using Safari. Only way to get out is to do a hard shut-down by holding the start button. Any ideas? Version of Maveriks is 10.9.2

I also have the same issue..whenever i turn the 60 fps mode on the camera freezes while switching from video to any other mode...does everyone have the same issue?

Yup, i have the same issue, i reported this with apple and there is ticket opened for me with
the engineering section. more that month still not solved. I was hope after update to IOS 8.1.3 to fix!
But not fixed yet.

X apps (especially gtk apps) "freeze" while fluxbox keeps working

HI Everyone,
I'm trying to understand if this issue Ive been experienceing for the last several weeks (months?) is related to the "redrawing" and "freezing" issues I've been reading about with KDE.
What I experience is the gui application failing to redraw. The window "freezes", i.e. stops updating. If I switch desktops, and then switch back, whatever was drawn on the other desktop is still showing inside the window outline of the "frozen" app. The window decorations render correctly and the WM in general continues to function.
Firefox and thunderbird seem particularly vulnerable to this syndrome. I've also seen Transmission and gVim be affected. In short gtk apps seem to be mostly what are freezing.
I also typically run quite a few xterms. These will generally not exhibit the graphical redraw problem, but it seems this issue is getting worse, because I'm now seeing xterm commands failing to complete because of what seems to be saturated CPUs. In general I'm able to bring an xterm to the forground over a "frozen" app and it will still function.
I will often keep xosview open. When this freeze-up occurrs, xosview will still be running and indicating that 1 or 2 of the quad-core2 are pegged at 100%.

I sometimes seem to hear intense disk activity, and a sync command will delay in completing during these events.
I run mdadm RAID1 mirror on all partitions, including swap. Additionally I recently added a second pair of drives that are mirrored, formated ext4, and mounted as /home, all other filesystems are ext3.
Is anyone else running fluxbox, or other WMs besides KDE, seeing these types of X app freeze-up?
Are those having issues in KDE experiencing these same kind of graphic rendering delays? That is, do some apps freeze while other apps and the WM continue to function? Are the freezes associated with GTK apps?

Well, it's getting worse and worse.
I've pacman-Syu several times in hopes some update would fix things, but instead it just gets worse.

However, during this >2minute lockup I looked at htop and it never indicated any of the 4 cpu's were over 3 or 4% , while xosview was showing 3 cpu's pegged at 100%.
The top task in htop was the running audio player, consuming at around 2%.
I've never seen a filesystem looking module at the top of top.
EDIT: man is my friend 8-) for htop: press 'K' to include kernel processes
Is there some way to get further insight into what is happening in the filesystem?
I'll try turning off journalling, maybe I need to convert that new partition to ext3 (a painfuil exercise).
Any help in discecting the CPU utilization is greatly appreciated!

Xcode 4 crashes after I open my project

After I waste a day searching why Xcode consumes 100% of CPU (it seems a problem with SVN repository) this application begin to crash systematically when I open my project.
I clean the build, I deleted DerivedData contents and Xcode cache... no luck.
I've never seen so buggy program from Apple. Xcode 4 has thrown my productivity.
The project is a Standard C++ with Boost libraries. Maybe Xcode 4 needs to test this kind of code. Indexing+Metaprogramming C++=Crash?

Clean the build with Xcode when I open it (before it hangs), build folders deleted, DerivedData content deleted, Xcode cache removed also. No luck, Xcode crash while "Indexing" message appears.
It's not the first time that happen (with Xcode 4.0 and another C++ project, now with 4.0.1). It seems that the Boost library challenging the robustness of the indexing code. But nowadays this library is essential for programming of modern C++.
If I disable all #include <boost/...> Xcode goes back to life and my project back to the death.

Safari freezes while loading

I am running Safari 4.03 on a G4 Mac with os x 10.4.11.
About once a day, Safari will freeze while loading a page. The stop loading button does nothing. Eventually I have to force quit. Anyone know anything?

I'm kinda a noobie to a mac so forgive me if this is lame. I was reading this post and i have kinda the same problem except when i go to open safari it just flashes and says that it can't be opened. I have reset safari and emptied the cache and it still won't open. Although sometimes when i go to open safari if i click on the top sites button in the far left corner when trying to open safari it will open that way and let me use safari to surf anywhere i propose to search. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
