  • Find xCode 3 on MacBook after installing it

Dear follow members of Apple Support Communities,
I have search for this topic. Sadly, I cannot find an answer. I find topics regarding problem with compiling program using xCode.
Now, I have tried to install xCode version 3 from my Leopard disc. It was sucessfull. But now I cannot locate the program to start it. When opening the Program-file, xCode is not shown.
I am running Apple Mac OS X version 10.6.7 on a MacBook (from late 2006 when searching on my S/N) with administrating rights.
Thank you for reading my post

  • HT5730 Install Xcode on my macbook

I cannot install Xcode on my macbook..It says that i need OS X Lion 10.8.4 and i currently have Lion 10.7.5…Can i just download Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and install it, or do i need the previous versions first?

10.8.4 is not Lion, it is Mountain Lion.
10.8 has to be purchased to install 10.8.4.  There are older versions of Xcode for 10.7.5.  You just have to find the one you need.   Also your MacBook may be too old to run 10.8.  See this tip:

  • Where can I download a macbook pro install dvd for my Macbook pro 2.2 because i lost mine...

Where can I download a macbook pro install dvd for my Macbook pro 2.2 because i lost mine...

I don't think you can actually download the install DVD. If you call Apple they can send you the install DVD for a nominal fee +S&H. You will need to provide them with the serial number for your Mac to see if it's registered to you.

  • OSX 10.5.8: Should I download Xcode 3.1.4 or install it from the 10.5 DVD?

Hi there. My Hard Drive recently failed and now I need to reinstall Xcode. (Yes, my important data was backed up, thanks for asking!). I have upgraded OSX back to 10.5.8. Should I download and install Xcode 3.1.4 or install Xcode 3.0 from my 10.5 Install DVD?
Just want to be sure before I wait for that 1GB download
    Thanks!

What version xcode were you running before?
Apple’s dev center only links to the latest version of Xcode, which requires Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.x).
Since you’re running an older OS, you need to go to this alternative developer website:
    http://connect.apple.com/
Log in with your ADC credentials, click “Downloads”, then click “Developer Tools” in the right sidebar, and then search the page for “3.1.4″. You might also want to check the wikipedia list of xcode versions to see if 3.1.4 is still the latest version.

  • How to remove xcode 4.1 and then install xcode 3.2.6?

how to remove xcode 4.1 and then install xcode 3.2.6?

Just an FYI I had xcode 3.2 installed on my snow leopard system and have today just installed Lion and I just cleaned and rebuilt an App I had developed prior to the Lion install to test to see if it would work. I was told it would but wanted to make sure and it successfully rebuilt and works in the simulator.
My issue is a bit different I need to install 4.1 WITHOUT corrupting my 3.2 installation as I may have to go back to rebuild a 3.2 App as we had a fairly unique setup for our xcode. The problem as I see it currently is I do not know how LION installs things in LION xcode is an App downloaded from the App store but I need to be able to download to something other than the default directories and I am not sure if I have that option in LION when installing an App(xcode) from the App Store

  • Xcode with old MacBook

    Hello all,
Wanting to work along some of the countless videos of iOS App tutorials, I have borrowed a friends MacBook that would need an OS upgrade to run a sufficient version of Xcode.  Current specifications are as follows:
MacBook 13" Late 2007 (based on serial number identifier)
2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
    4Gb 667 DDR2 RAM
    25Gb free space
Wanting to run the latest Xcode possible, I will need to first upgrade to Mountain Lion.  Will this be possible with current hardware details?
    Help is much appreciated.
    Regards
    Rob

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
OS X Mountain Lion and Mavericks need a Late 2008 Aluminum or Early 2009 or newer MacBook, so you cannot run the most recent OS X version nor the latest Xcode version. Instead, you can use old Xcode versions, but they are useless if you want to make iOS apps.
There are illegal ways of running OS X Mountain Lion and Mavericks, but they are not allowed and put your Mac in risk.

  • Friends macbook needs new hd but disks are in storage in nova scotia...can

My friends macbook needs a new hd but disks are in storage in nova scotia...can I use my disks...I'm not sure whether they are from the same build...My macbook is build 9G55.

OS build is not important. in general you can not use install disks that came with a different computer. they are hardware specific and will not work unless you have the same exact model and make computer. is the old hard drive completely dead?

I LOST MY CD 'MACBOOK ,NOW INSTALL WINDOWS BUT I DON,T HAVE DRIVER ?, I LOST MY CD 'MACBOOK ,NOW INSTALL WINDOWS BUT I DON,T HAVE DRIVER ?

If you don't have your install disks you can get the gray disks by calling Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need.
Or you can get a Snow Leopard retail disk for $29.  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY

  • Macbook Pro Install Disc

Hello i was wondering if the Macbook Pro Install disc Version 3A136 - 10.5.2 2008 would work on a 17" macbook pro.
Even though it doesn't actually say on the original disk that it is for a 15" MAcbook Pro.
    Cheers
    Adam

No, you need the grey disks that came with the 17" or a later sold copy of the Snow Leopard restail disks that have your hardware drivers on it.
Call Apple with your serial number for the grey disks, the white Snow you can stil buy online in places.
If your new 2011 machine came factory installed with Lion you can't go back to Snow unless you follow "the procedure" here and the risk is all yours.

If you need to extract the drive's content you can remove it and install it in a $10 USB enclosure. It will be readable by any recent Mac.

  • Is it possible to remove my hard drive from the Macbook and install it in a new Macbook Pro?

I currently have a 2009 Macbook and am wanting to upgrade to a new Macbook Pro.  I have upgraded my hard drive in the macbook to a 500gb and have a duel boot with Windows 7 installed with Boot Camp along with other software that I do not want to lose.  Is it possible to remove my hard drive from the Macbook and install it in a new Macbook Pro?

A much better solution is to hook your two Mac together and the first time you start the new Mac and it asks if you wish to recover data from another Mac, answer yes. This will invoke Setup Assitant which will do the job for you but intelligently.
I know because I just used Setup Assitant. It worked like  a charm.

I recently bought a new macbook and installed Acrobate Pro. My settings/preferences did not come over and I do not have the same style options for my signature.  It now only allows me three options and the style I have been using for the last year is not there.  How do I add additional options and get my preferred signature style back?

    Hi Amanda ,
Which version of Acrobat are you using?
Which signature style are you talking about?
You can go ahead and try uninstalling and reinstalling it and see if that works for you .
Use the cleaner tool to uninstall it .Here is the link.
Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
You can refer to the following link to re install it .
