Xcode IOS Simulator Error

I'm currently using Xcode 3.2.6 on Snow Leoperd. I downloaded everything sucessfully, and it worked great for a couple of hours. Than all of a sudden I try to test a iPhone application in IOS Simulator, (I hit "build and run") and in Xcode I get a message saying "Error from debugger. Failed to launch simulator. Operation Failure with underlying error (enter some random error number here)" My question is how can I fix, and or reinstall THE IOS SIMULATOR. I am not willing to reinstall Xcode 3.2.6 and any other software for 8+ hours  just to fix a single issue. Also I get this pop-up box in IOS Simulator when I open it seperatly from Xcode saying something like "The IOS Simulator has to be relaunched " Any ideas would be helpful.

  • Xcode iOS simulator sass scss sourcemapping

    I just downloaded Xcode 5.1.1 and installed on Mavericks 10.9.4 with Safari 7.0.6
    Using the iOS simulator (iPhone 3.5 inch) and Safari Develop I don't see the scss files, only the compiled css files.  I installed Xcode for this purpose 'cause the same holds true if I use a physical iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.2 and a usb cable.
    If I view the same web page directly in Safari (the site is running in MAMP Pro on the same machine) then Develop DOES show the source scss files.
    Is there a fix? It's very difficult to use sass this way. I have various partials I'm using depending on the device, orientation, etc.

    I re-posted over in the Safari Developer forums, hopefully with a clearer title: Console window doesn't show Sass or scss source files on iOS devices or simulators
    I suggest asking in a Chrome forum. Safari has pretty much lost the desktop. It still has the mobile market because Apple requires 3rd party developers to use WebKit. But for what you are doing, you want to look for web developers. They will use Chrome. They will also have recommendations for tools to use in a mobile environment.

  • Ios simulator for director ios apps

    did someone have success with the xcode ios simulator running a director published .ipa?
    ive tried so far in xcode 5:
    uncompressed the .ipa file which gives me a folder called Payload with the .app inside.
    i copied the app into
    /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SD Ks/iPhoneSimulator5.0.sdk/Applications
    or
    /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SD Ks/iPhoneSimulator6.0.sdk/Applications
    starting the ios simulator shows the app in the phone but launching the app fails.
    the same happens using ios-sim for launching the app.
    https://github.com/appcelerator/ios-sim
    it fails as well.
    any ideas or success with older xcode versions?

    You will possibly want to look into the iOS software development kit (part of XCode) but that is really for developing your own apps, not playing other developers apps on a Mac.
    The short answer to your question "No."

  • Hi, I recently upgraded my xcode to 5.1, my project is running well in ios 7.0,6.0, But in ios 7.1 i'm getting error like"iOS Simulator failed to install the application". Can anybody please suggest the solution for it.

    We aren't Apple, just users like you. Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • XCode 5.1 updated and now I can't debug AIR apps on iOS Simulator anymore

    Today XCode updated itself to version 5.1, with new iOS 7.1 platform support. It updated itself without asking permission, and now I can't run my AIR apps on the iOS simulator anymore. All my apps fail with the following error:
    'Launching [myApplication]' has encountered a problem.
    Error occurred while installing the application:

    I use AIR SDK 4.0.1628 (the latest version according to the SDK download page today), and it doesn't make a difference if I choose another simulator version (7.0 and 6.1 fail the same way).
    I'm developing in Flash Builder 4.7, on OS X 10.9.2
    Any ideas of how to fix this? Will using the AIR 13 beta help?
    Thanks, Frank

    Thanks for the steer Jason that worked,
    So that would be Apache Flex 4.12 using Flex installer 2.7 will bring the same benefits of AIR SDK for Flex 13...... I basically have to use an installer from a third party to make the commercial product I pay for work to solve the precise problem its sold as solving.
    It's like buying a *******' drill you have to put together yourself.
    I'm gonna get this build finished, then sneak into Flash Builders room while it's having a sleep after a big dinner and smother it with a pillow. It's the kindest thing to do. Ha!
    @DavidDragon,
    Follow these steps:
    http://flex.apache.org/doc-getstarted.html
    However just make sure you use the latest version [4.12.0]

  • IOS Simulator Broken Since Xcode 5.1

    Ever since Apple released thier newest version of Xcode (5.1) at the start of March the iOS simulator does not work from Flash Professional CC (I do not have Flash Builder).
    Updates to AIR 4 didn't help because it woud throw an error about missing files.
    Updates to AIR 13 didn't help because the option is disabled (opthion is greyed out in the menu).
    How I installed AIR in Flash CC: Help > Manage Adobe AIR SDK > Choose AIR 13 Folder
    Ive installed both AIR 13.0.0.83 (official release) and AIR 13.0.0.95 (SDK and Compiler Beta, not Flex) and restarted Flash. Am I missing a step or not correctly installing it?
    Is this a known issue under investigation and is any progress being made?

    Anton are you using Flash Builder or Flash Pro? It seems that there are work-arounds for Flash Builder, but none for Flash Pro ...

  • How to run IOS Simulator without Starting XCode?

    Hi,
    I am trying to run the IOS simulator without first running XCode.  If anyone knows the path to the application, please let me know.
    Thanks!

    This is for Xcode 4.3 Simulator... Start by locating Xcode in the /Applications Folder in the Finder....right/control click and select 'Show Package Contents', then drill down until you find it...good luck.

  • I can't choose iOS simulator as destination when I run my project in Xcode.

    Hey there,
    Several days ago, I reinstalled my Xcode 6 for some reason. Since then, I can no longer run my apps on a simulator.
    I tried following steps to solve the problems, but none of them work.
    * I deleted my Xcode and reinstalled it from the App Store.
    * I changed my project's "Deployment Info" -> "Deployment Target" to 8.1, 8.0, 7.1, 7.0, 6.1, 6.0, none of them worked.
    * I download the 7.1 simulator from Xcode -> Preference -> Download, and change the Deployment Target again, nothing happened.
    * I clear the download caches in ~/Library/Caches/Xcode, I knew it won't make any difference, but just in case, still, nothing changed.
    I launch the simulator from the Xcode -> Open Developer Tools -> iOS Simulator. The 8.1 simulator launch with a alert said "Unable to determine device."
    NEED HELP!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
    P.S.
    * I'm using a macbook pro (15 inch, mid 2012).
    * My laptop's OS version is 10.10.2.
    * My Xcode version is 6.1.1 (6A2008a).
    * My (Default) simulator version is 8.1 (550.3).
    * I never ever use bootcamp. =D

  • How to resize mainstory board in Xcode and iOS simulator ?

    I have a problem with Xcode i can't get to resize the main storyboard it shows up like and iPad and in the iOS simulator it shows up big and half the content comes up how do i resize to an iPhone

    1. Create a BitmapData of the correct size of the full image
    2. Use BitmapData.setPixels to create pixel data from your byteArray
    3. Make a new Bitmap, Bitmap.bitmapData = BitmapData
    4. Create a matrix with the correct scaling factors for your thumbnail
    5. Create a new BitmapData the size of your thumb
    6. Use BitmapData.draw to draw your image data from the Bitmap to the new BitmapData with the scaling matrix
    7. Use BitmapData.getPixels to create a bytearray from your thumb BitmapData
    8. save it
    You'll have to look up the AS3 reference to see how all these methods work.

  • IOS Simulator on Xcode 4.6 / 5

    The iOS simulator for iphone or ipad is very big and shows a scroll bar to check app's view, can this view be changed to normal regular size one where it shows the entire iphone/ipad properly and no scroll bars?

  • Flash CC 2014 14.1.0.96 Crashing on attempt to debug in iOS Simulator

    Just like the title says, Flash CC 2014 14.1.0.96 is completely crashing every time I try and debug my project in the iOS simulator via the Debug > Debug Movie > On iOS Simulator command. I have XCode version 6.1 installed. The simulator never opens - Flash crashes while the "Publishing..." progress bar is showing, after about 5 seconds.
    I've tried the following iOS Simulator SDK paths in the Air 14.0 for iOS Publish settings:
    /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SD Ks/iPhoneSimulator.sdk/
    and
    /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SD Ks/iPhoneSimulator8.1.sdk/
    But both cause Flash CC 2014 to crash completely.
    I should note that Publishing directly to my iPad works properly. Flash only crashes when trying to debug in the simulator.
    The crash generates a rather lengthy error report. Here's the top part of it:
