XControls Annoyance - 'Apply Changes to Instances'

Hello,
I've been working with XControls a little, I find them a nice little way of displaying my class data...
However, I have this problem that when I load my project, I have to click 'Apply changes to instances' (as you can hopefully see in the picture) before I can run any of my VIs. Elsewise there are simply broken run arrows in my VIs.
It doesn't make a difference if I apply then save my project and re-open.
It seems to effect all my XControls but not always at once. The problem consistent if I open a project, close it and open back up but if I work on the project, save then come back, sometimes its the same ones sometimes its different ones...I can't spot any predictable behaviour ...
Maybe I'm missing something silly or someone else has come across this?
LabVIEW 2012 btw
Many Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
Welcome to the NI Discussion Forums, thanks for your post.
I haven't had this particular myself, but would like to investigate what is causing this. Does this happen with every XControl in any project? Or just this one?
If this only happens for this project (or similar ones) would you mind attaching the project in a reply?

Ben Clark

  • Logical standby server stopped applying changes

    Hi
I set up a logical standby database with database guard and it worked fine for some time. But recently I had to use it again and discovered that applying changes from primary database to secondary database just stopped working. I see in V$ARCHIVED_LOG one entry per day. If I restart the logical standby then the changes from primary server are also applied. But if I just make a change on primary server and even call 'alter system switch logfile' then I see an entry in V$ARCHIVED_LOG on primary server but not on standby server (BTW in general there are much more entries in this view on the primary server). I checked pairs of log files indicated by the parameter *.log_file_name_convert in standby server's spfile: their last changed date is always the same.
I will paste spfile of my standby server (dh5). Primary server name is dh2.

    Hi,
Nice to hear you issue got resolved.
It is good practice to keep monitoring the progress of SQL apply on the logical standby on a regular basis.
You can mark my response as helpful if it has helped you.

  • Applying changes to report queries results in HTML 404 page not found

    Hello,
When I try to change report queries (especially by using multiple queries) I frequently get HTML 404 page not found.
This happens when I click Apply Changes after I edited the query, but also quite often just when I try to confirm the changes in the query.
When I logout and then login again, after a few tries, I finally succeed.
The problem of HTML 404 page not found appears quite a few times, even when I try to delete a query or to open one for editing
Can anyone help me out here? It is really frustrating any development of reports with APEX
I'm using APEX version 3.1.2.00.02 with Oracle XE

Where do you publish your site and how do you upload the files?
What is the URL of your site?

  • Notification Email should be triggered when hit the Apply changes?

    Hi All,
Am creating a request form similiar to a remedy form, when ever the user create a new request and submit the request.Notification email will be sent to the user and the admin.
Here when the admin ppl rejects the request,a notification email triggered to the user like request has been rejected .
I have three radio buttons in the Form
    1.Submitted(default).
    2.Rejected.
    3.Accepted.
When the admin edit the request and select rejected radio button, and apply changes ,a notification email should be triggered to the user.
Now i have a after submit process for edit the ,which will be triggered when ever the user hit the apply changes button and it will send notification to both user and admin.
How to achieve the notification email that should be triggered when the admin rejects the request and submit the form???
    am using apex version 4.0
when the Admin will select the reject radio button and hit tha apply changes then the notification email should be sent to the user!!
    Always appreciate your help!!!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramya.

    Hi Gurujothi,
    Thanks for your response!.
I can able to send email now.Thing is i need to send an email like when the admin rejects the request.
    For eg.
1.Admin opened the request and select the Reject radio button and clicking Applychanges button then the email notification will be sent to the user like,
    Your request has been Rejected.
2.If the Admin selects the radio button accept radio button and clicked apply changes, start processing about the request then the Email notification will be sent to the user like ,
Your request has been modified .Request will be notified by the admin.(Working now)
DO i need to create two separate process for the email notification like
one is for all the modifications that the user/admin will do in the form ,once the record is created and another process is for Rejection purpose of the Form. But only one Apply changes button is there in the Form. You don't need two page process, In one single process you can acces the page item session values using *:YOUR_ITEM_NAME* bind variable syntax or V function like this V('YOUR_ITEM_NAME')
So in your PL/SQL code you can easily prepare the email body based on your radio group item's value
    declare
    l_body varchar2(4000);
    begin
    IF :Px_MY_RADIO_GROUP ='R' THEN
l_body := build your conditional email body for rejected
    ELSIF  :Px_MY_RADIO_GROUP ='A' THEN
l_body := build your conditional email body approved
    END IF;
    apex_mail.send(
p_to       => '[email protected]',   -- change to your email address
p_from     => '[email protected]', -- change to a real senders email address
            p_body     => l_body,
            p_subj     => 'APEX_MAIL Package - Plain Text message');
    end;

  • Has Lightroom CC removed the ability to Batch apply changes to many files at once (after import) using presets?

I've just upgraded to Lightroom CC and most of the changes are very welcome - especially the performance improvements.
However I've been processing several thousand images and in Lightroom 5 when wanting to apply changes to many images at once it was as simple as selecting the group of images and then right clicking, selecting Develop Settings and then selecting one of my many Presets from a sub menu.
This sub menu seems to have disappeared in Lightroom CC.
This is a MASSIVE problem for me as I cannot work out how to apply the presets to multiple images anymore.   I note that there is a tutorial on how to do it during import - but I want to specifically be able to do it post import, during development of large groups of images for clients.
Anyone know what has happened here and how we can get access to applying presets to multiple images during development under Lightroom CC?

    Yes ssprengel.
I regularly work with all the Presets visible in the left of the Develop module.   But this cannot be used to apply the preset to multiple images.   For that (in Lightroom 5) you had to select the multiple images and then right click (on any one of the images) then go down the menu to Develop Settings, then select the Preset Folder and the Preset you wished to apply to all the images selected.   This worked well for me in my workflow.   But the access to the Presets through the Develop Settings menu has been removed in Lightroom CC.   ManiacJoe's solution above works - but it's accessed from the Library module.   That's kind of counter intuitive.   I want access to apply any preset I've saved to multiple images (in many cases t's being applied to thousands of images) from within the Develop module.   it makes little sense to apply a preset one image at a time to thousands of images when developing them
The whole idea behind presets was that they could be quickly and consistently applied across multiple images.   Removing this functionality is a backward step by ADOBE in my opinion and I really want them to add it back to the Develop Module menu systems.

  • Apply changes button not working as expected

    Hi
I have a page, this page has some fields and a drop-down list where it has a projectname as the values and when I change a value in the drop-down list and click on "Apply Changes" button it does update the table and the changes can be viewed on the page ............. but when I have created a copy of this same page and changed the select statement of the drop-down list and in order to change the year from the drop-down list and click on apply changes then it does not update the table or changes are not reflected on the page.... am I doing soemthing wrong somewhere , but not sure where !
Can anyone know what could be the reason ....?
    thanks

    Hi Nancy,
That could be the case, but I tried it multiple times during the day and it was not working. I think I would have notice it if I "missclicked" it like 10 times in a row. I normally use this option more than once a day and it works. But If it happen again, I'll pay attention to that.
    Thanks!

  • HT1386 When I try to sync changes from my playlist to my iphone the sync process gets to step 7, applying changes and then freezes up, the changes are not being put on my iphone. What do I do to correct this issue?

When I try to sync changes from my playlist on the computer to my iphone the sync process gets as far as step 7, applying changes, then freezes up and the changes are not getting to my iphnoe.  How do I fix this issue?

Are all these songs associated with the same Apple ID or were some purchased on another account?
Are they tagged properly? In the library does it break an album out into several different albums with a few tracks each?
Check your sync settings for each device. Do you accidentally have only certain songs/albums syncing?

  • Apply changes in iphoto from ipad to mac?

I made some changes in some pics on my ipad's iphoto. I tried to apply those changes on the pics I had in my mac by syncronizing with itunes, but changes were not made.
Any idea on how to apply changes?

iPhoto from iPhone or iPad does not at this time sync with iPhoto on the Mac.

  • Applying changes to multiple images . . .

i'm relatively new to macs but i've been using aperture comfortably for the past few months.
having just returned from a long photography trip and upgrading aperture to 1.5.1, i'm finding that i am unable to apply changes to multiple images like i used to, such as: selecting multiple images to rotate or selecting multiple images to apply the "stamp."
when i try to "shift-select" multiple images, the change i'm trying to apply affects only the last image clicked-on in the "shift-select" grouping. does that make sense?
    has anyone else encountered this?

You most likely have the Primary Only option turned on. Turn off that option in the Control Bar.

  • APEX 4 - Edit Application Properties - Apply Changes - Error

This has seemed to have started after upgrading to Apex 4. We also updated to 4.0.1, and are still having the problem. With any application, if we attempt to apply changes to the application definition it fails...
Home>Application Builder>Application 104>Shared Components>Edit Application, Defintiion tab. Make a change, then click 'Apply Changes' The browser returns a 404 error. In fact, we don't have to make a change to the values displayed. Just attempting to apply the existing values fails.
This is the error we receive in the ohs.log...

    Thanks!

Yes, we still have the logs. No errors from the install or patch to 4.0.1. All packages, procedures, functions are valid.
And, I just found the problem. We had an 'after servererror on database' trigger enabled without the proper field checks. Disabled the trigger, problem solved.

  • PL/SQL problem with too many lines - can not apply changes

I have a complex PL/SQL that requires checking 90 check boxes and the query works to a certain point then it just stops being able to be saved (apply changes) after a high no. of lines has been typed in. (The PL/SQL query is to check against a file, that the file has all the check boxes as yes. If there is only 1 or 2 boxes checked, then the sql created only checks those 2 fields for yes.) Is there a way to increase the coding space (or number of lines) that APEX can save/use.

This is the whole PL/SQL coding. At this point, we cannot add any more lines or it will come up with "web page cannot be found" message.

  • Edit Page;Report;Enable CSV Output;Apply Changes;Page Not Found;wwv_flow

    Hi,
We have a really annoying error in our application, whereby we are unable to save ANY changes to report attributes if Enable CSV Output is Yes.
I have many pages with Enable CSV Output set to Yes, and when run, the pages can indeed be exported to Excel, fine so far.
    However, if we do Edit Page, choose Report change Enable CSV Output to No, then apply changes the option is removed ok - BUT if we then set it back to Yes, when we apply changes again we get a Page Not Found error at this address ;
    http://sglas-sand.fm.rbsgrp.net:7780/pls/fdm_uat2/wwv_flow.accept
We obviously dont need to keep changing this value, but the above demonstrates that our reports do currently support CSV output, but for some recent reason, trying to save a page where this option has been changed to Yes causes this crash.
We also seem unable to change and save any other attribute when CSV Output is set to Yes. This leaves us in a tricky situation - unable to change our pages unless we are prepared to remove the Export option!
We were wondering if the support of this this option requires any special processing / objects / etc to be availble / running. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Applying changes to stacks, counter intuitive?

    Help says:
Here are a few tips for working with stacks:
Any develop adjustments, ratings, flags, or color labels applied to a collapsed stack affect only the top photo.
If you select a photo in a stack and add it to a Quick Collection or collection, only the selected photo is added, not the entire stack.
Both of the resulting actions seem counter intuitive. Assuming that stacks are clearly identified, I want all of the flags, ratings, tags, and adjustments to act on the entire group. Grrrr.

For me when I group a stack of photos primarily when they are sufficiently the same in a way that I don't need retain a view of them. Either multiple shots of the same subject, or from the same event. So more often than not I will want to apply changes to all as a set. I can't think of a reason I would want to change only the top photo. If I want to work with an individual photo, I will go out of my way to do that, but isn't LR supposed to help up when dealing with many many photos? LR is the rule, PS is for the exceptions, isn't that what we've been told?

  • Applying Changes To A Template To All Documents

hi, i was wondering if there is a quick way to apply changes that are made on a template to documents made using that template?
basicaly i have over 200 html pages on my website, and i have made a few small, but important changes to the coding, and i was wanting to apply that to all the documents rather than manually do it.
EDIT: by the way im using Dreamweaver CS4
    thanks in advance.

I have never done this, and I think my question is why did not the child pages update on save of the template.
But if you go to Modify | Templates | Update Pages, that might accomplish what you are looking for.
