XD8500 quad phone - phonebook

Hello all.
Just a quick question concerning the XD8500 quadphone. If I enter my numbers into the phonebook on the base unit phone is there anyway I can copy that phone book to the other three phones? My previous cordless phones had a copy facility that copied any phonebook entry on any phone to all the ohers. The XD8500 doesn't seem to have that. Huge pain if I have to manually enter fifty entries onto all four phones!!

BT3920 Quad Phones with Answering Machine from Tes...

Hi, Have bought BT3920 Quad Phones with Answering Machine from Tesco which only has a short User Guide. Tried to get fuller guide on-line AND tried ringing all the BT Helpline numbers I can find, but to no avail. It seems BT know nothing about the BT3920 and it looks like it was made specially for Tesco. My problem is that I need to find out how to access the answering machine remotely and with no User Guide have found it impossible. Have tried numerous methods but no luck. Anyone got one of these phone sets who can advise please?

I have now worked out how to pick up messages remotely, but could still do with the full User Guide! If anyone else gets these phones you have to go into Menu, scroll through Anwerphone selections and select "Ans settings", then select "remote access" and select "On" (it must come out of the factory switched onto "Off"). The default factory setting for picking up the messages remotely is by entering "*0000" on the keypad of the phone you are ringing from, but wait until answer message starts first. Hope this helps someone else in need!!!

Error with SoftKey on Phone 7960G

The following example works on a 7941G without Problems, but on a 7940G or 7960G I only receive XML Parse Error

hello i have lookd over my files again and again, but I could not see anny problem. we are doing normaly more programming with the 79x0 phones (phonebooks, forwards, etc.) but the softkey feature seems verry tricky.
I will load up my file in this post, and if someone hase these softkey thing running, it would be nice if he can share these....

E63 PHONEBOOK DOWNLOAD TO MERC BLUETOOTH

I have a CLK 220, 2005 with the Audio 20 fitted. Attached to this is the Merc iPod kit and the Merc auto-changer. I have just bought a Merc Bluetooth SAP V2 mobile phone cradle (A2048200535). The phone I have is the Nokia E series E63.
I have been able to pair the phone but unable to download the phones phonebook. I have entered the "0000" the phone shows it is downloading the phonebook, the cars system looks like it is in the mode to accept the information. However, when the phone goes back on line the memory is empty.
I can make dial calls out and receive calls.
Anyone knows the solution please.

Changed the Sim from Virgin (UK) to another provider and it phonebook comes up in both the BT unit and phone. One would have thought they (Virgin Media) would be compatible.

Address Book Sync, w/Mobile Phone

I recently bought the new generation iMac 20" and paired my Motorola E398 via bluetooth with my mac. Ive succesfully synced the phones phonebook with Address Book on the iMac, all my contacts where put into Address Book but unfortunatly the mac has deleted the contacts from my phonebook on my mobile phone (almost like a cut & paste job).
Does anyone know of a way to upload my mobile contacts on my mac back to my mobile phone, thanks.

I use a small program called BluePhoneElite with the v3 and it handles sms and the calls very well
They pop up on the powerbook screen and also the sms save to the powerbook
thats the address you can get a free trial
I paid the small amount and have been very happy with it
Now I wish there was a program to handle landline calls
I am just a happy customer nothing to do with the company before anyone asks!

Nokia Lumia 1320 & Hyundai Tucson HiFi

Can someone please help me with the following problem?
Lumia 1320 pairs with vehicle apparently with no problem. Calls attempted from the phone book in the car's hifi system will not connect. If a call is initiated directly from the phone then everything works correctly with all sound coming though the hifi unit. I have been into the Bluetooth settings in the phone using the "advanced" button to use the "connect in a different way to use speech with bluetooth in my car" option, this did enable one call to be placed through the hifi unit, but the unit has reverted to as described above.
My local Hyundai dealership has shed no light on the matter and the reseller of the phone has not been much help either.

The CAR probably uses or is set to use SAP which is not supported by Windows Phone. SAP will basically tie in the phone SIM to the cellular in the car itself. You need to use PBAP for the car to read and use the phone phonebook, then use the car controls to dial using the phone and have it stream the audio back and forth to/from the car.

N95 and Parrot Bluetooth

Hi,
I have recently bought a Parrot in car bluetooth system and have got it to work with my N95, just wanted to know if there is a setting on my phone so that I can share my phonebook with this bluetooth handsfree. At the moment I have to scroll on the phones phonebook, when there is the option to do it on the bluetooth units screen.
Not sure if this is a N95 issue or a Parrot issue, so I would appreciate and help or suggestions.

BT Graphite 1500 - answer message sounds like a fa...

Hi,
After years of using the answer machine in a quad phone set-up, the answer phone is now playing a message that sounds like a fax machine.
There is no fax machine plugged in to the phone circuit and it continues even when the IP fax is powered off. There has been no change to the home set-up for months/years.
The "fax-like" message plays whatever the setting of the phone: answer and record, answer only or answer phone off.
Tried resetting everything I can and powering off!
Any clues?

Are you sure it is the phone causing the problem? could there be something else plugged into another phone socket,
Try unplugging the graphite from the phone line and then call your home number.

CK-600 compatibility with 6303 Classic

I'm looking for a car kit that supports 5800 XpressMusic and 6303 Classic.
Can I get the nokia 6303 classic to work with the car kit CK-600? I imagine the screen would make the use easier. If not the CK-300 should work with both phones, right?

I tried restarting my phone and lost all of my contacts. This has been happening more and more frequently. Today I was in my pictures and was trying to crop one and my phone shut off completely. Anyone know what's wrong with it or how to fix it?

Make sure all apps are fully closed:
- double tap your home button
- hold your finger on an app
- when the apps start to wiggle press the red "-" button on all the apps
Now do a hard reset:
- hold the home button and the sleeps/wake button down at the same time
- the phone will shut off then when the apple logo ppears release both buttons
If by then your contacts have not been restored you would need to try and retreive them from a back up on itunes/icloud that was made when the contacts were on the phone. You could even stream them from the cloud if they were synced to the cloud. The link beow will show you how to restore from an itunes/icloud back up:

Iphone contacts "not available" to car phonebook after messing around with Outlook.pst file names and backups. Iphone4 connects to car though and other phones connect properly.

iphone contacts "not available" to car phonebook after messing around with Outlook.pst files, names and backups, on my ms XP 2003 laptop. I substituted a much smaller new Personal Folder -Contacts File, with a smaller list of phone numbers (4 only as a test) which successfully synced to the iPhone 4. The iPhone connects to the Skoda Octavia HandsFreeSystem OK (Bluetooth works fine), but now iPhone wont load the new Contacts as it did originally. However a family Nokia (never messed with) can connect properly. So must be the iPhone or more likely an Outlook.pst \ Contacts problem. Ideas?

After fiddling a little more, the following fixed my corrupted outlook.pst file:
1) I made a backup
2) In outlook under file, I exported the calendar to excel
3) In outlook under file, I imported the calendar back to outlook
And voila, it worked.

Newly bought Xperia C3, responding slowly for a quad core processor phone.

My Xperia C3 is just a week old sincebI bought it and my very 1st Sony phone. Doing simple task is so annoying because of phones slow response to command wether doing browsing to text messaging, i would have to wait for the right screen to come up, or even from stadby mode to making a call, or txt, it responds so slow.. Totally different from other brand of quad core processor I've tried. My phone memory or sd card memory is is not even 1/4 full. Why is this behaving like this?
Could someone Sony-brilliant user or support personnel help me on this please. Kindly help me make my Sony experience a better one.

My Samsung Galaxy S1, which is still fully functional up to now, does not even have a quad core processor, but its not slow like this C3. Same with Lumia 520 & 630.. So I don't know why would a new phone behave like this... Really annoying

Max phone numbers per contact in the phonebook for...

Hi,
I have Nokia 5300 which is running s40. I also have a Nokia N70 which is running s60.
Nokia N70 can store more than 5 phone numbers per contact where as 5300 can only store 5 which i found out when i tried sending a business vCard. I was wondering whether this is a problem because of the s40 version on 5300 and whether there is a software update for this. If not, i would just like to know what is the reason (out of curiosity - is it the 5300 hardware and runs s40 or something else ...).

PS: I found out that Phonebook is part of the OS/firmware for the phone.

The S40 Nokia operating system - what the 5300 is based on - is in many ways simpler & more limited than S60/Symbian. (In some ways it is also more efficient and at least simpler/smaller.)

Phonebook / Phone directory solution investigation

Hello,
I'm currently trying to find a solution in the perspective of editing a professional phonebook (+50000 entries in total) wich deals with mixed visual ads and text entries {name addresses and phones}.
My phone book key points are the following :
1) 3 columns layout.
Conditional master selection on a cyclic basis (to cycle trough 4 header and footer advertisement)
2) Text entries are :
Letter categorized (A|B|C|D|...for users pages, and pro categories on pro pages)
Conditionally formatted : 3 styles for handling 3 different type of text entries (normal lines, textad->black lines, textad->redlines)
plus handling of letter spacing in case the lenght of the entry is too long to fit the column.
3) Graphics entries :
12 differents graphics ads sizes to detect and import, Conditional Positionning/Anchoring of image blocks upon their size. 300dpi CMYK.
4) and for sure phone book style header management (eg. aa-ac)
5) At production time, I project to process data as chunks of 3000 entries at a time, thus representing 30pages or so.
I want minimal hand job once the file automatically processed.
As form what I read so far Indesign and counterperts plugins offer the possibility of automating it.
What I want to know is to wich point ?
Does someone in here did ever worked on something similar, would like to share toughts ?
As I investigate further I'll post my experience in here.

With this little piece of "code" I'm already almost to it.
Normal text entries, Texads and GraphicAds are processed nicely into my layout.
The only thing is that I have to manage the biggest GraphicsAds (like full page) by hand because they do not fit when inserted in the middle of a page. And if I anchor the full page Ad to page border, the Ad overlaps all of the text that is before its entry point...This is also true for some of the smaller GraphicsAds but in general all the smaller GraphicsAds (anchored at entry point) wich will represent 75% of the total are quite nicely distributed.
By the way, I found that Indesign itself seems to be quite limited when graphics are anchored inside of text blocks.
It's abylity to flow the text around it seems to me too much limited...
My problem is that sometimes image blocks overlaps either over text either over another image block(s) on the next column.
The real problem is that the image blocks are inserted inside the text block as if it was a text entry, and thus the text entered before the entry point of the image block cannot flow under it...
I guess the problem here is my Indesign layout. Or maybe just a limitation of Indesign...
Either way I guess I'll have to position manually some of the elements once the static file is generated (thing I would like to avoid).
Anybody : Any toughts on the subject ?

PhoneBook in the Lumia 1520 Phone app doesn't have...

The Phone app shows you a Call History to view recent calls as well as a PhoneBook of your contacts.
A weird problem about the app is that while History allows you to view the profile of each call contact, PhoneBook doesn't.
History has a profile icon against each number/contact in the log. Tapping on this icon leads you to a Profile screen which further gives you two options("call number" with the number below it and "text" with SMS below it). This is where you can view the numbers associated with the contact.
Unfortunately, PhoneBook is missing this icon. So when you get into the PhoneBook to view a contact all you can see is the name of the contact. A tap on any contact name leads to a call. Incidentally, when you get into the PhoneBook, the header says "CALL A CONTACT". So, it might have been designed this way too.
I would rather have the PhoneBook open up the People->Contacts interface.

If you want to see contact details before calling just use the People Hub, the phonebook in the dialer only shows contact s with an actual phone number and will go straight to dialing the number (if there is only one).
