XDMCP to access AIX from Mac OS X

Hello,
I am trying to use xdmcp to access an AIX RS 6000 from Mac Osx. I have tried through X11 but it seems the X11 library are missing some Xinputlib, font and colormap to correctly access an AIX. This kind of xdmcp access runs fine with Windows+Exceed.
Anyone knows if there is a solution to have a fully functionnal XDMCP access from MAC OS X ?

Some more info:
I am connecting to the AIX machine through X -query or Xnest, and it works fine (I get the CDE login screen of the AIX machine and I can login)
When I try to start an application in the AIX machine I get some errors like:
- cannot convert string "Rom14.500" to type FontStruct
- Xlib extension XInputExtension missig on display
- invalid colormap parameter
Any help to solve this is appreciated !

- This isn't exactly what you are asking for but there is an App: /System/Library/Coreservices/Screen Sharing.app on the Mac which is similar in operation to Terminal Services Client but is based on VNC.
- Thus it will be a whole user's logon session which would run on the mac server .
I haven't used Screen Sharing.app on a large scale deployment of clients connecting to an OS X Server.

Accessing G3 from Mac Pro

I can't seem to figure out how to access my ethernet networked G3, running OS 9.1 from my Mac Pro. File sharing is turned on on the G3. Had no probs doing this from my old 3400 also running 9. I want to do a manual transfer/house cleaning of everything on the G3 to the Pro so I can wipe the B&W & install Tiger.

Accessing iCal from .mac account

I've been able to publish my iCal without trouble, but I'm wondering if I can access and edit my calendar from a different (and PC) computer, while in my .mac account? Or, am I only able to edit it while in the iCal application?
Also, am I able to view my calendar from my .mac page, without publishing it for the public? I'd like to look at it from work... but don't need/want my friends viewing it!

The short answer is no; you can't edit iCal calendars from a PC. You need a .Mac account and Macs to edit.
Seems like everyone has the same problem.
As far as private publishing, .Mac is not private as far as publishing Calendars go (though someone would have to know or guess you .mac name and calendar name to get to it).
Alternatively you can use iCalX: http://www.icalx.com/
It apparently has password protection.

Not without a third party app such as Team Viewer - but you would have had to install that before you were away from the Mac. Do you have PhotoStream turned on?

How do I unlock folders in XP so I can access them from Mac?

I know this question has been asked before, but all the solutions seem to point to an issue with Vista. I am not using Vista. I am using XP. Before Leopard, I had set up aliases that pointed to the My Pictures, My Documents, and Desktop folders, so I could move files from my Mac side to where they needed to go on the PC side.
Now, two of these folders are locked, and I need them unlocked. In XP. How do I do it?

Pardon me? Repair permissions compares permissions to a bom file. The bom file is created by an application installer. The Windows installer/Windows proper is never going to create a Mac OS bom file and put it in the /Library/Receipts of an HFS+ partition that it doesn't even know how to write to, just so it can be used by the Mac OS that it didn't even know could be there at the time that Windows XP was written. So, in this case, repair permissions is surely a NOP.
For example, consider an application which you installed by dragging into /Applications, which means that it did not use an installer, and so did not leave a package containing a bom file in /Library/Receipts. Temporarily change its permissions, but run verify permissions before changing the permissions back. *Verify Permissions will not notice that the permissions are wrong* because verify permissions is not smart enough to devine the correct permissions.
As an(other) example of how stupid repair permissions can be, consider the following line of output:
Permissions differ on "usr/X11/lib/X11/app-defaults", should be drwxr-xr-x , they are lrwxr-xr-x .
This is saying that a soft-link shouldn't be a soft-link. WHAT???? And how does it propose to "fix" this???

Cannot access boot from Mac OSX install Disc-frozen cursor

Twice a month I do some housekeeping and clean up my Mac--run scripts, verify preferences, repair permissions, etc. Quarterly I boot from the installation disc to renew any start up info that may have become corrupted.
My IMACG5 won't allow me to do this now. I put the disc in, and shut down the machine. I start it up again while holding down the C key but when it is finished booting from the disc my mouse cursor is frozen on the screen and I cannot acess anything. I have a battery operated mouse and I always check to make sure there is sufficient battery life.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is up and how I resolve this issue? At this point I won't be able to wipe my hard drive and re-boot everything fresh from my installaion discs because the cursor is frozen.

I hope you mean Restart and not Shut Down.
Insert CD, under Apple drop down menu -> restart after/ at the chime hold the c key dowm till the gear/ wheel stops spinning .

Access PC from MAC

Hey!
Here´s the story: Mariano has a PC and I have a Mac. We are both in the same office sharing the internet thanks to my Airport Express.
I want to have access to Mariano´s PC´s hard disk (as I used to have before moving in to a new office) and I am not sure how to do it. We used to share files and used his PC as a server but now I can´t access the files.
Any thoughts?

Can't access facebook from mac osx

I have reviewed support and found postings with this problem, but have been unable to rectify my problem.
Last night I tried to log in at facebook and was redirected to a webpage that said I was blocked and that
I should contact my network admin. I called my internet provider and they said it was not an issue at their
end, rather it must be something in my security settings. I have not made any changes in my settings.

I found a thread that instructed to go into certificates and delete the facebook certificate, however, I did not
find a facebook certificate. I also saw a thread where someone sadi this can happen when your date
and clock settings are incorrect. Mine are correct.

Thanks for assistance. I found the openDNS certificate, but do not know what to do. It shows as trusted. Just not savvy enough in this area to know what should be done. I went to my keychain access and clicked the repair. The repair returned a report showing some permissions were incorrect in my library/keychain acess and the next line shows those mistakes were corrected.
I hoped this corrected the problem, so shut down the computer and then turned back on. But, no...I am still blocked at facebook.
By the way, I do have parental controls but they are not on.

Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.
