XEON PC OR TWO I7 WHIT A SHARE DISK CONFIG.

These is simply.
It is possible to have two pc's let say: 2X I7 930 WITH a share and grate raid congif. So you can use 1 pc for importing and extra task and the other for CS5 programs, that way we reduce the possibility of unespect crashes.????

Don't get confused from what John is saying. He is talking about a standard multi-client editing system where files are locked out when it use.  Adobe does not have that yet. You can use Adobe in a shared editing environment and you can access media files from anywhere on a network if the directories are shared. It just does not have a specific multi-client editing workflow that auto locks files in use or allows multiple client's editing the same project at the same time. You just have to organize your workflow with the other clients and communicate. I have several clients who edit with adobe in shared editing client environments. They just make sure who does what is planned out ahead of time for each project and communicate changes.

  • Open the same raw file in PS5 with two different White Balance settings

I'm trying to open the same Raw File in PS5 with two different White Balance settings.  One setting "as shot" the other in "daylight", then blend them.  The tutorial I'm watching says to "stack" the images.  The tutorial shows one White Balance setting as the "Background" layer and the other setting as "Layer 1".  I don't know how to do this and the tutorial is not specific.  Can anyone either point me to a step by step instruction or offer some assistance?

Also look at the "Snapshots" feature of Camera Raw itself.  It allows you non-destructively to keep multiple sets of settings for a single raw file.
Learning about it far exceeds the scope of what can be done in this particular forum.  I would recommend this book as essential reading:

  • SignalR - Two Hubs must not share the same name

I created asp.net mvc 5 application (call it "WebServices"), then i add my Hubs in a folder called "Hubs". Now
what happened is that SignalR (2.0.2) generate JavaScript proxies for hubs in environment: 1-in local machine. 2-when i publish to azure web role. Now when i publish to azure website (.NET is 4.5 and websocket is opened),it didn't generate proxies. Now i tried
to add hubs to App_Code folder ,and it generate proxies ,but the build action of the hub classes are "Content",when i change it to Compile it raised this exception :
Two Hubs must not share the same name. 'Webservices.App_Code.MyHub1, App_Code.c9aucf2j, Version=0.0.0.0,
    Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' and 'Webservices.App_Code.MyHub1, Webservices, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' both share the name 'MyHub1'.

  • Can I build two LV executables which share data using a type 2 global?

I have two LV applications which share data residing in a common VI configured as a type 2 global. Is it possible to configure my build settings so that both applications can continue to share data?
One approach I tried was to build the common VI into a dll which can then be shared. This works fine with the original applications but falls apart once I build them into executables.

Ha! Accessing VIs inside an EXE is the best trick I've learnt for a while. Thanks
As for the rest of my issues...
I was originally using a LV2 global to store an array of variables (variants). The elements in the array are indexed by storing the variable name as an attribute. This allowed me to easily pass data between modules.
What I wanted to do was build the modules (one by one) and then continue to use my loader, but once each module is built it seems to run in a completely separate memory space. I can't share the storage VI, even if I dynamically call it using VI server or build it into a DLL.
I have had a play with the data socket approach and it works perfectly - both in development mode and with built apps. At the moment I am just passing the entire storage array around (was the easiest mod to my existing code) but may be better to pass individual elements around.
So now I have a loader based application that can pass data efficiently between modules, with the flexibility that I can build new modules at any time
    Thanks for the help!

  • Share disk via WAN

    hi there,
I want to use the files on the disk in my Time Capsule when I'm not at home, so not directly connected to the Time Capsule.
I enabled the option to share disks via WAN, but I was wondering how to connect to the drive over WAN?
(I want to use this on a windows 7 laptop)
can you guys help me out?
    thanks in advance

Find out what your AirPort's external IP address is. You can see it under the Summary tab of the AirPort Utility. From your Win7 PC connected to the WAN, open the Start menu and locate the Run... command. In the dialog enter the IP address with two backslashes in front of it, i.e., \\123.456.654.321 .

  • Help!  Trying to access a share disk with file sharing- problems

I have limited knowledge of file sharing, keychain access, and Macs in general.
My school uses the Mac OS 9's for our schoolwide "Accerated Reader" program (a common program for schools accross the US).
I am unable to get the 4th grade class room's Mac computer to access the share disk "AR Folder," which means that the Accerated Reader program won't work in this particular classroom.
I go to "Keychain Access." The infor I get for "kind" is "Apple Share password." I go to "Unlock Keychain: AR Computer," and I type in the correct password. I click "unlock". The next window shows "Keychain: "AR COMPUTER" on disk "MACINTOSH HD" 2 items. My choices are "AR Main Lab" and "AR Main Server." When I click on both (one at a time), and on the next window, when I click "go there" the following error message appears:
:An error has occurred. Unable to go to this item's location. An operating system (-5016) occurred."
What can I do from here on? WHat could be wrong? Help me troubleshoot!
    Thanks!

    Hello sylves,
First..many people may be hesitant to help answer your posts as it deals with a school and security issues and passwords. It is not too good to mispell "accelerated". This could indicate someone trying to get into an area they don't have permission to access.
    I offer sevreal ideas.
    1. Perhaps you could explain your position in school.
    2. - Ask the tech people at school for assistance. I know this can be had at times. I work in a school with all PC's and only a few Macs so they are not quite up to fixing our mac problems.
    3. - post more info as to if these computers are able to use internet or are they just going to the school server etc.
I post this as ideas how to get more help and not disrespectfully.....Jim

  • Time Capsule 2TB missing "Share Disks over WAN" option

I bought a time capsule about a month ago. Setup was no problem. Have a MobileMe account. Successfully setup remote access using MobileMe. Needed to select "Share Disks Over WAN" under the file sharing tab which is under the disk tab in setup in order to make it work.
Bought another time capsule yesterday and trying to setup in another location. This model does not have that "Share Disks Over WAN" option. Am I missing something? Did Apple make a change? I am not able to access this new drive remotely now, even with my MobileMe account active.

"As I write this, I am using my wife's iPad to browse files and folders on the Time Capsule disk. I can switch over to the disk attached to the AirPort Extreme with a single tap."
Awesome!  Hopefully I will have the same luck as you!
"I said that Filebrowser will do a very nice job. One of my support policies is that I never offer advice or instructions unless I have done it myself.  "
Well that's good to know going forward!
    "Make sense?"
    Yep - no confusion whatsoever.

  • Share disks over WAN for Windows

I spent a lot of time searching through the forum to find the solution for my problem but I could not seem to find the concrete solution for it. Hence, I'm asking for help.
    Problem description:
I can't access my USB drives connected to the Airport Extreme over the WAN from Windows XP. However, it's working fine with my Mac.
    My Configuration:
+ Airport Extreme firmware version 7.2
+ 3 USB drives connected to the Airport Extreme via the USB hub
Using the AirPort Utility, I have configured the followings.
+ On the Airport/Base Station tab, I have enabled "Allow configuration over Ethernet WAN port" and "Advertise configuration globally using Bonjour"
+ On the Disks/File Sharing tab, I have enabled "Enable file sharing" with accounts options (and I have created different user accounts). I also enabled "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port" and "Advertise disks globally using Bonjour"
    + On the Advanced/Bonjour tab, I have enabled "Use a wide-area hostname"
+ I also registered my dynamic IP address at home with DynDNS
    My Observations:
+ At home (this means locally), I can access all the drives from all of my machines including, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac Mini, PowerBook.
+ Outside of home (this means over the (WAN), either at work or at my friend's house, I still can access all the drives from my PowerBook. However, I CANNOT access any of the drives from any Windows machines.
    My Understanding:
+ On Mac, it uses AFP protocol for file sharing and this is working fine locally or over the WAN.
+ On PC, it uses CIFS protocol for file sharing and Airport Extreme seems to have issue with this over the WAN.
    Help!!!
If anyone has found a working solution and has tried it yourself and you know it works, please post the solution with detail steps. Your help will be highly appriciated. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who has this issue.
    Thanks

    Ahansen,
I don't think this issue has anything to do with static IP address. For most of us in the US, although we have the dynamic IP address from our ISP (I have Comcast in my case), if the modem/router is always on 24/7, the IP address does not get renewed.
Again, although, I have the dynamic IP address, I have the same IP address for many months. I have been using the same IP address to remote desktop back to my server at home when I'm away from home.
I don't see how the static IP address is revelant here in this case unless I'm missing something.
If it works for you, everyone will appreciate you very much if you can post the detail instruction here.

  • Is the Macbook Pro with retina display compatible with the share disk utility?

    Hi,
I was wondering whether, since the macbook pro with retina display has no cd rom drive, whether the MBP is compatible with the share disk utility like the mackbook air
    VKB

there should be no reason why it wouldn't be, as that's a feature of the OS, not the hardware.

    Hi,
How about using Disk Quota function in FSRM (File Server Resource Manager)?
    Please see:
    Quota Management
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755917(v=ws.10).aspx
In your case you can setup a soft quota with a specific size so that when it runs out of space you set, you will get an email or warning according to your setup.

  • There is no "Share disk over WAN" checkbox

Hello i do have no checkbox for "Share disk over WAN" on my airport settings for TC. What should i do? I just want to access my TC over internet.
this is back to my mac option from settings. It says 'set router' which is doubtful to me.
and here there is no checkox for it.
    note: it is 7.6.1

What kind of broadband do you use?
BTMM should work fine with any router that uses upnp or nat-pmp. You do not require an apple router.
If you want to access the TC from internet.. that is possible manually.. in fact it works really well.
You need to set up a dynamic dns account.. almost all routers will have a client.. pick a service for which you have a client.. (unless you have static public IP which is even better).
Then simply port forward AFP protocol TCP port 548 to the TC.. which is in bridge.
Remotely you access by typing in connect to server... AFP://dynamicip or staticpublicIP.
Just google remote access to TC there are plenty of discussions and youtube video of how to do it.

  • Difference between Share Disks over WAN vs. over Internet using Bonjour?

I would like to find out the Difference between selecting the "Share Disks over WAN" option only vs also selecting the additional "Share disks over Internet using Bonjour" option. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

you can access drives plugged into your AirPort extreme base station from outside the network by typing in the IP address of the modem/base station in the "Connect to Server" dialogue on the Finders "Go" menu (or press Command+K when in Finder). You can get the base station IP by opening the AirPort Utility from your utilities folder, and click "manual setup" at the very bottom of the summary tab should be the IP address given the base by your modem.
As long as you have "Share Disks over WAN enabled" when you connect using the IP from another location you will be prompted to authenticate to the AirPort Base station and if authentication is successful you will be prompted to mount a disk (the disk plugged into your AirPort base station should be the only available disk to mount).
Keep in mind you must give out the Base Station password unless you allow guest connections to the disk.
