  • Adobe Reader 9 printing pdf problem

I have just had to do a compleate re install using Windows XP and Office 2007, Adobe Reader 9 now installed my pdf documents are visable but will not print to any of my printers. I currently have the following printers -a HP 1317 All in One and a Panasonic KX-P7100. Both worked perfectly with Adobe Reader 8 1 3. Now I have Adobe Reader 9 I cannot print PDF's. All other docs print out. Any advise please.

I have had the same problem with Acrobat 9 Pro (and Acrobat Reader, and trying to print PDF's within IE).  In my case it seems to be related to my recent Internet Explorer 9 install.  I had disabled the Adobe IE plugins (as well as others) for better performance, as Microsoft suggests.  When I re-endabled the plugins in IE9, Adobe Acrobat 9 started printing again -- at least once every 3 tries; sometimes it would work with Print button, others with File > Print menu, and still others with right click > Print.
In any case, I fully blame Adobe.  Having a dependency in your core app on something that sits inside another app as an add-on...?  Inexcusable, and very poor software design.  So add poor design to the poor technical support we're seeing on this issue.  I hate to be this harsh, but after reading the forums about the same error, spanning months and months with no resolution, I have no other response for Adobe's lack of dealing with this issue properly.
I even re-installed Acrobat 9 Pro, with no success in fixing the problem.  Buggy.

  • Printing PDF problems

I recently updated my Acrobat Reader and am having printing problems. I have windows 8.  I cannot print a PDF.  Adobe says it cannot be printed but doesn't say why. I've read and done the printing issues suggestions.   Adobe also installed google chrome for me. If I can get the PDF document from google chrome it will print. For instance an insurance document online.  I cannot print stored documents in my documents library, or documents in an email, or if I bring them up online in Internet Explorer. I've reinstalled Acrobat Reader several times.  I don't know what else to do.

    Hi  @Wiits
I suggest taking a look at what JERENDS has suggested in the following post; Missing or partial print issues on Windows 8 / 8.1.
If the issue persists, make sure you have all of your Windows updates and ensure your Adobe is up to date too.
Does this issue only occur when you print from Adobe or from other programs too? Can you try opening the same file in another program?

  • My Wireless HP ENVY 4500 All-In-One Printer Has Stopped Printing PDF Files

I installed the subject wirelessly printer about 1 years ago. It works quite well with my iMac OS X10.9.1 desktop and my Win7 laptop PC. But, it recently stopped printing PDF files for no apparent reason, and I get no error messages.
It won't print PDFs from my browsers nor from Adobe Reader (11.0.07) ... but all other document file types print OK from my browsers and Reader.
The only thing that comes close to printing PDFs is that sometimes, when I try to print a PDF page or file from within Adobe Reader, it prints - on a single sheet - 6 tiny duplicate sections of what appears to be the upper right-hand quadrant only of the original PDF document.
Please note that I un-installed and re-installed the printer and its driver twice without success. Also, no amount of printer re-configuring of layout, size, etc. made a difference. I received some previous work-around advice about converting the PDFs to a Word document, and printing that. But this is just not convenient; and besides, the printer is suppose to print PDFs (PDF is my document of choice for basically all my collaborative work). I should also state that I received no help with this problem from the HP ENVY user group forum; so, I guess that means you may be my last resort. And finally, I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I upgraded my iMac from Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) to Mavericks (OS X 10.9) a few months ago - this upgrade was frought with all sorts of teething problems! - and I am now somewhat suspicious that something in the upgrade might have something to do with my current PDF problem.
Could someone please advise me on any Adobe Reader and/or printer re-configs, re-sets or other actions I should try?
    Thanks

Correction to initial post: The 6 tiny sections incorrectly printed on a single sheet are actually from the bottom right-hand quadrant of the original PDF page - NOT the upper right-hand quadrant.

  • Print PDF Pages quality not high enough

I'm pretty happy with using Aperture to design relatively simple photo books. Its great to stay in one tool. But I'm not happy with how it exports JPGs from the book I designed. Don't think its a problem with my automator workflow file either.  I'm using a custom 10x10" theme and sending JPG's to Black River Imaging for book publishing, I'm not using Apple's books, so I have to get my designed book into JPGs, somewhow.  So I modified the print pdf to jpg folder automator script to bump to 300 dpi, RGB, using the sRGB color space and a "best" quality.  The pixel counts are coming out correct, ditto for color space, but the file size is too small and the sharpness just isn't there in the files.
I did an experiment where I exported the individual JPG images for a book page and brought them into Photoshop. Resized the images based on where they went into the page layout and re-implemented the page layout in Photoshop, saving as JPG-12 optimized. Results?
    Aperture - 733 KB for a 10x10 300 dpi page
Photosho - 2.1MB, and yes, viewed at 100% obvious differences to detail.
Its a bummer. Making the photo books within Aperture is much, much easier. But I'm not happy with the "print PDF to JPG pages" flow.
Do I have any way of fixing this?

Screen capture of my Automator script.  Notice I'm asking for 300 dpi.  I'm getting 72.  However, instead of 10" as I expect, I get 42.3", and this still equals the correct 3,000 pixels per side, so that is good.  But why?  And if that is messing up can I be sure I can trust the compression setting?

  • Indesign crashes when Exporting a Print PDF

Has anyone had problems with Exporting Print PDF from Indesign CC?
I can do an interactive one, but not print.
No. It is not the file I am trying to print. I have tried a brand new one with nothing in it as well.

I believe "PrintFusion45" recommends you to use lower resolution (resized) copies of your original TIFFs in your Indesign document.
You can have a look at the "effective ppi" in the "link info" window for a selected image, and compare it with the intended print resolution (in your case perhaps the image downsampling setting in the pdf export).
If you intend to create a pdf using 300 ppi downsampling for the images, and the effective ppi of an image in the document is 1000 ppi (which could be the result if you rezise a large image to a small area in InDesign), then InDesign will have much more data to process, than using an image that already has the same ppi as the intended output.
There is of course the downside of keeping more than one original image, just to get the InDesign documents "lighter" and faster to print.
I hope this makes things a bit clearer.

  • Print PDF vs Save as PDF - Quality Difference?

I know there's other posts about PDF vs Save but I didn't see my issue answered, so here it goes:
I print a lot of large-format (24"x36" and larger) Illustrator files that contain both vector drawings and raster images.  The guys at my print center insist that we do a print to PDF and not a save as PDF.  So my questions are:
Is there a quality difference between printing and saving?
Does one have better vector quality?
Does one have better raster quality?
    Thanks!

An important oversite is accessibility. Apparently screen readers, like JAWS, used by visually-impared students, can NOT interpret PDFs created via printing. However, PDFs created by "Saving As" CAN be read by JAWS.
Since colleges, like where I work, are required by law to be accessible ("508 compliant"), this becomes a huge issue. Therefore I'll be recommending that all faculty create PDFs using the "Save As" function, large file or not.
BTW, I suspect the problem with reading "print" PDFs may have something to do with JAWS inability to interpret Postscript.
    Any ideas anyone?
If so, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]
    Thanks.

  • Print selection problem

when i select a page to be print from my pc the page select in

Hello. I feel your pain and frustration with the print selection problem in safari, especially in Snow Leopard. I have spent hours trawling help pages and forums etc. BUT YEE HAA (sorry got a bit excited, but it really was hours) I found the answer. So here goes.
    Click on Safari
Scroll down to services then slide to right
Scroll down to services preferences and click
Scroll down to the Text section
If you Tick the Text box it will choose all options for you. Or if you don't want all options in the Text list, then untick Text box and tick options you do want.
BUT for your print selection problem make sure you tick NEW TEXT EDIT WINDOW CONTAINING SELECTION.
Then when you want to select something in a web page you want to print (including pictures etc) then highlight it, then Right click. And low and behold, in the list is NEW TEXT EDIT WINDOW CONTAINING SELECTION. Click that, Then press cmd+p and your printing.
I really hope that helps with your problem
I can now go to sleep.

  • Discoverer Plus - Problem with Page Orientation when printing pdf's

    Hi,
When printing pdf's in Disco Plus I have a problem:
My workbooks are a mixture of landscape and portrait pages.
I am printing the entire workbook and then using cutepdf to produce a pdf.
If I print to paper I get the correct landscape/portrait settings.
If I print to pdf then landscape pages appear vertically when I view on screen so that the text is running from bottom to top of the page.
So it is picking up th portrait/landscape settings from the individual worksheets but cutepdf has not realised that the pages are landscape so they appear on the screen vertically.
This was not a problem on discoverer desktop so I am confident that this is not a problem with cutepdf.
    Any thoughts?
    Justin

    Thanks 2257648922,
    Version details are as follows:
    OracleBI Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.3)
Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)
    Discoverer Model - 10.1.2.55.26
    Discoverer Server - 10.1.2.55.26
    End User Layer - 5.1.1.0.0.0

So I assume that means my version doesn't have the bug you mention.

  • Problem with printing pdf

    IF POSSIBLE REPLY IN ITALIAN
HI, i ve got a big problem.
i 've to create an A0 page in vectorial pdf, which has connected different files: .psd files for the images with transparency, and vectorial .pdf for the drawings from cad.
When i ve created my page, i export that in print pdf high quality.
1° problem: sometimes it fails and tells me there s not enough memory
2° problem: when print pdf is created, the plotter can t load it to print, it stops at 40% loading.
there s a way to make an easy vectorial print pdf?
using vectorial eps instead of vectorial pdf?
using transparent tiff instead of psd?
    THANKS

thank you for the fast reply Peter. Im working on an achitecture poster for my last exam, and it contains vector graphics sometimes overlayed on raster images.
i don t like to use illustrator too, im using 3 programs already to create this poster. do u think .ai are easier than eps???
i ve tryed to save new pdf without layers, but it didn t work. then i ve tryed to change pdf with eps on indesign, and now the print pdf saving is really faster. im gonna try to plot it and then i ll tell u what s changed.
OH most important, i was drag n dropping pdf into indesign, and i read it s really wrong! so now i import vector eps to indesign ...
    Plot test...

No, it is not set to overprint. Also, I have to add that the printing results were not consistent. Sometimes it covered and sometimes it did not.

  • Having problem with the printer with type "PDF Publisher"

    Hi,
We are having problem with printing PDF reports with print style as "PDF Publishrer". The concurrent program errors out after it generates the report. But when we try that with style "PORTRAIT" then it prints successfully. We have tried with a number of printers and a number of reports. The results are same. So my understanding is it has something to do with the printer configuration from the EBS side.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

  • Printing/creating PDF problems with Mac OS 10.6.4 and word v.X

In my job at university I use Word 2003 (version 10) in my new iMac. Since I updated to MacOS 10.6.4 I have problems with the printing menu. That means that I can not print or convert to PDF or even generate a preview. When trying to print or obtain a preview, word freezes and I have to force quit. When trying to generate a pdf file it does, but the generated file is unreadable (it says is damaged) and word freezes again. I have played with the preferences, change user and it didn't help. I checked the Font Book and indeed they were many duplicated fonts. I sorted them out, but the problem persists. With very short files it works, but with longer ones word invariably crashes when trying to print or make a pdf. I took one long .doc file and I copied into my laptop (MacBook pro, 2008) that was running 10.6.3. I printed it and converted to pdf; no problems at all. Then, for the sake of knowledge, I updated the system to 10.4.6 and then I couldn't print or create a pdf with the very same file, so it seems that certainly the update is reponsible. So now I know cause but I can not print from any of my computers. To me convert to pdf is an important functionality so I would appreciate any help. I have some ideas: reinstall Office 2003? reinstall 10.6 from the disk (and not update)? use Time Machine to restore the system as it was before the update?
I didn't detect problems in Office 2004, or any other programs in my macs. Unfortunately, I need Office 2003 for compatibility with some other software. Thanks in advance!

I updated my MBP to 10.6.4 last night and today I was printing fine from Word 2008 (v12.2.5). I haven't used Office vX since Tiger so I cannot comment on its stability with the latest update. But I suggest that if you haven't done so already, try opening Disk Utility and running Repair Disk Permissions on the 10.6.4 partition. Once this has completed I also suggest that you reset the printing system, restart your Mac and then add your printer queues again.
*How to Reset the Printing System*
    1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    2. Move your mouse over the Printers list
    3. Hold down the Control button and click the mouse (or right click if supported).
    4. Click "Reset printing system ..."
    5. Restart your Mac
