Xfce4.10 doesnt start since update
Hi guys,
I've upgraded xfce today from 4.8 to 4.10. But now I have got the problem, that it won't start if i am logging in via slim...
I tried to downgrade the linux kernel from 3.3.4-1 to 3.3.3-1 but this didn't worked. Is there a way to downgrade the whole xfce4?

Your ~/,xsession-errors or /var/log/Xorg.0.log may provide the answer. Particularly the xorg log as you state the problem occurs after changing resolution.
Cheers.
Here are those files, anyone has an idea?

Xfce4-sensors-plugin crashes since update yesterday
Hello,
as stated in the headline, I'm using xfce4 with the
extra/xfce4-sensors-plugin 0.10.99.6-2 (xfce4-goodies)
plugin. Since yesterday (I updated my system with yaourt -Syu --aur) it crashes constantly if I try to start it in the panel.
If I try too start it on command line:
$ xfce4-sensors
Segmentation fault
The strange thing is: I installed aur/xfce4-sensors-plugin-git 20091013-1 - and it worked!
Would be very nice if the maintainer of the xfce4-sensors-plugin could fix this abboying bug!
Thanks!Okay... things become stranger... yesterday, I tried again xfce4-sensors-plugin 0.10.99.6-2 - and it worked. Today, as I started my system... it worked not!
I have searched a little bit around how to analyse an Segfault and found gdb. Here is the gdb output:
$ gdb xfce4-sensors

Could anyone say, where the problem is? -
Updated to 8.1 today. Itunes doesn't start since. The computer will show me a message "itunes doesn't work anymore" and looks for the problem, but doesn't find one. Already re-installed, but no improvement.
Any help would be appreciated.
Message was edited by: MerlanorI had a similiar problem. It turns out the shortcut icons had no target or "Start in" info in them. :/ ( rightclick the icon and select properties. )
I fixed it by deleting the icon then going to C:\Program Files\iTunes\ directory right clicking on iTunes.exe and selecting Send to > Desktop ( create shortcut )
Hope this helps... -
NeostarHD didn´t start since update to 8.0.2 & other Problems
Hi, on my Ipad3 NeostarHD won´t start anymore since update to iOS 8.02.
Also some other Software like 01v96Remote makes grafik nonsens.
The EQ settings/Lines in the Grafic view are any where but not there where they have to be.
i realy like a working DOWNGRADE to iOS 7.1.2 from 8.0.2... until things working and im not getting a beta tester! Was that a reset to factory default through the iTunes program. See below ... and ... I included the backup links since you should always do that first.

Firefox for android freezes immetiately after start since update to Android 4.2.2
Firefox for android freezes/crashes immediately after start since the automatic update to Android 4.2.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus; sometimes it reports a crash without being started. Language is German; I've send several automatic crash reports; all available updates are installed. Other apps (google+, skype, TrustGo, Polaris Office 4 ...) started to crash as well after this android update. Please help or update Firefox.
hello emuller, you might have to clear the data & cache of the affected applications for them to work correctly on the new os version (this will reset firefox to the state after a fresh install).

Apps don't start since updated 10.8.5 today
i had a software update pending in AppStore which included a safety update and some other stuff for 10.8.5 today, which i did update and then restarted.

Programs not starting since updating to Mac OSX 10.6.8
Hi,
I just upgraded my work iMac to OSX 10.6.8 after of putting it off for a few weeks.
After restarting and logging into the system after the update installed, some apps are failing to start.
Either they begin to load then self quit (Software Update), start to load once, self quit then fail to begin to load altogether in subsequent attempts (all my Creative Suite apps--PS, AI, ID, AE, FL, PR, SB--Acrobat Reader, Safari, Address Book, iTunes, Skype).
Here are the system specs:
Model: iMac
Model ID: iMac 11,1
Proc Name: Intel Core i5
Proc Speed 2.66 GHz
# of Procs 1
# of Cores 4 cores
L2 Cache 256KB/core
L3 Cache 8 MB
Memory 4GB RAM
Proc IntCon 4.8 GT/s
Boot ROM V. IM111.0034.B02
SMC V. 1.54f36
Are there any known issues regarding this update?
Thanks for any help. You might want to try the so-called Combo Update for 10.6.8 which includes all updates from SL since the very first release (see here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399).
Applying this combo update mostly fixes any upgrade issues.
If this might not help either, restart from your SL disk and run Disk Utility to repair the hard disk and the permissions. -
Safari won't even start since update to 3.2
I am having the same problem as lots of others I am reading about here. Since I upgraded to 3.2, Safari won't open at all. Just gives me the message that Safari "unexpectedly quit" before it even opens. I have been reading the posts and have tried deleting all the plugins (although I didn't seem to have the ones that were causing others trouble) I deleted all except bookmark.plist in user/library/safari. I even called Apple. She had me delete Quicktime, clear Cache, clear cookies. Nothing worked. She wants me to Archive & Install. Last time I did that I had a very bad experience (and it turned out it wasn't really necessary, anyway) so I am avoiding that.
So for now I am just using Firefox and hoping that someone will come up with an answer that will work for me.
ThanksShe had me delete Quicktime
An Apple employee told you that? You should never do that. Quicktime is a fully integrated part of the operating system and should not be deleted.
Rather than attempt a reinstall of bits and pieces I would also recommend an Archive and Install.
How to Archive & Install:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
This document explains how to correctly reinstall a prior version of Mac OS X in the event that other troubleshooting does not resolve an issue:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25404
BUT: Don't install older versions of Mac OS than what comes with your computer:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25497
Once your operating system is functioning properly again you, and you have installed all security and Quicktime updates relevant to your system, this might help:
If your Safari keeps crashing, or if you are updating Safari (or just have):
N.B. Never delete Safari, never run it under Rosetta, don't use proxy settings.
(If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Safari 3.2 for download can be found here:
http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Make sure you download the correct version for your system.
Also, observe the standard procedure for installing software: repair permissions and close all applications, install, then repair permissions again.)
Input Managers and other plug-ins from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 used Safari 3.0.4 which was not a beta and which was updated to v.3.1.2, and now both Tiger and Leopard uses Safari 3.2. If Safari 3.2 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
(Trying to revert to a previous version of Safari can have repercussions, as Safari 3.x uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail, Dashboard Widgets etc also rely, but if you really want to do this post back for instructions on the safe way to do so.)
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Add-ons that have been frequently mentioned here, among others, for causing such problems are Piclens, Saft, AcidSearch and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them and go the developer's sites to see if new versions are available for Safari 3.2.
You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Updates up to 2008-007, which is required for Safari 3.2. Like all security updates, these require a restart and a permission repair. Note that 2008-007 is a combo update: if you have missed a couple of updates this one will suffice.
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
• Hard Disk/Library/InputManagers
• Home/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates and updates to Safari (they can always be added back one-by-one later). -
Apps blink but don't start since update to 5.0.1
After completing msync and backup and update to 5.0.1, many of my apps just flash when I touch them, instead of opening and starting. I've rebooted, I've done a hard reset. What now? Help!
Try downloading/installing any new app.

Bug: Labview doesnt start after Update to LV 7.1.1
Hello,
someone here with solution for this problem?
You can reproduce it by doing these steps:
1.) Install Labview 7.1
2.) Install an executable Labview-program compiled/created with LV 7.1.1
3.) Install the LV-Update 7.1.1
4.) Try to start Labview.exe
Here I get an pop-up with the text:
Executable version (LV7.1.1) doesn´t match resource file (LV7.1)
[OK]
The only thing i can do is to uninstall Labview 7.1.1 and the Runtime 7.1.1 and the reinstall Labview 7.1.
But there is no way to install the update on a normal way.
I think the problem is, that the executable programm already installs the Runtime 7.1.1 and makes some registry-things. So when installing the update after that, then the registry is already 1/2 updated and something goes wrong.
Perhaps i only need one more registry-entry to get rid of the pop-up.#
Thanks for your helpEdit:
Executable version (7.1.1) doesn´t match resource file (7.1).
Check your configuration.
[OK]
This is the full message-popup.
The problem has to be somewhere else. On another computer i tried the steps i described above but there i had no problems to update.
So the main-question is: What can i do against this popup? -
Does anyone know why my music keeps stopping randomely on my iPhone 4? It just started since updating to the latest ios. I think it is only happening when it is a playlist of some kind, Genius or my own. Inconsistently I can get it to start playing again by hitting the shuffle, repeat, genius, or next but there is no pattern. Sometimes it is not even playing the song it says it is. It is very annoying.
Apple has not announced any new iPhones ,the terms of use of this forum ban speculation of Apple product plans etc..
personally I like to have the latest and best -
Since updating to iOS 6, my 4th gen iPod touch, and my 3rd gen iPad has sound in and out. Sometimes it's on, and then all of a sudden, no sound. I've tried everything from restarting to fully resetting each one starting fresh, but nothing. Please help.
I have exactly the same problem. I have tried almost everything and I am nowhere near an Apple shop as I am working in Africa.
Did you manage to find a solution? Help please if possible. Regards Az
