Xfi Crashes Ga

Hi, Ive been reading the posts regarding the random lockup/crashes on games such as battlefield 2, I have the same problem and was looking for a solution. Ive been able to work around this problem by lowering the sound settings in bf2 to medium. But this is by no means a solution. I didnt pay $50 to put my settings on MEDIUM. Its very unproffesional on creatives part to not even acknowledge these posts regarding this issue.
Lockups and freezes that cause people to have to do a hard reboot is very damaging to thier systems and to not have one single admin say SOMETHING is very scary. It makes one think that they know, but they dont know what to do about it. So, Ill check back on this post every so often and if i dont get a response, I will just start a new post, and so on until I do. I see it as a way of protest on my part and if anyone else is having this problem, dont reply start a new post!
I had the card in another comp for a couple of months before putting it into a gaming pc I built. It worked fine on games in the other computer. I, like other people have taken the card out to see if that was the issue. Once I did not one single problem. But I refuse to let $50 go to waste so I put the card back in and tweaked my settings. They seem to be ignoring this problem, so if they release another driver/patch whos to say it will fix it when they cannot even respond? When will that patch come out? Will I be waiting for nothing just to see the patch has done nothing to resolve this issue?

i have the same problem with the X-FI Titanium pci-e card.
since i have this soundcard i get random game crashes/freezes/bluescreens.
ut3 worked without ANY problem with onboard sound, since i have this piece of .... it crashes or totally freezes the computer after some minutes.
5min ago i played stalker, ended in a bluescreen with looping sound. i ran the debugger to analyse the crash minidump -

  • XFi Crashing Vista when amp switched

    Hi.
I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit on my HTPC. I have an XFi Xtreme gamer card with the .002 drivers.
The PC is connected to my amp via three 3.5mm to phono leads (ie analog output).
If the PC is switched on, or switches on when the amp is off (as it does when coming on to record scheduled recordings) the PC becomes unresponsive and has to be reset. This means the HTPC keeps missing shows. I dont really want to leave the amp on continually as its powerful and runs hot (and I have to pay the electricity bill) so is there a way to solve this I guess its trying to autodetect the speakers, and this is crashing the PC.
(And I cant use digital output, because I want to use the card for surround sound in games, and as far as I know the card cant encode surround sound into a digital stream).
    Many thanks,
    Chris

If two monitors are connected, often one is by default #1--when only one monitor is connected, generally it doesn't matter which connector is used.

My Extreme Music edition does the same thing on Call of Duty 2 and Battlefield 2 as well. What fixed it, however, was the beta drivers. But since they pulled the, I'm back to square one. Naturally, I can't even install the old drivers for some reason. GG Creative.

  • Zen XFi- 2 crashed and can't see any files on the player after reset

My zen crashed yesterday and after i reset it - everything that was on the player has gone - music pictures applications etc - however if i plug the player into the PC all music etc is still on the player - i have reloaded the firmware but no joy - any ideas ?

Copied media files to a HPFS+ (journaled) SimpleTech USB drive connected to my iMac. Files copied fine and can be accessed from the iMac with no problems.
I connect it to the TC, the drive can be seen and mounted over the network but the files do not show up. The free space corresponds to the free space left by the files I had copied--but again the files do not show up.
TC file sharing is on and is working fine as demonstrated by access to the internal drive without problem. And the USB drive shows up in the airport utility without error indication. Files copied over the network to the USB drive are accessible as expected (read/write/delete--no problem).
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • XFI Fatality Pro Counsoul Launcher Crash

I downloaded the newest drivers and the newest counsoul launcher, For some reason when I go to the equalizer it always stays on custome then once I try and click out of it the whole thing crashes.
I installed the new drivers first then the new launcher. I did a complete wipe of the old stuff both in leftover folders and files and in the reg.

, I got the same problem with my Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series. I did the same as zippz (I installed the new drivers first then the new launcher. I did a complete wipe of the old stuff both in leftover folders and files and in the reg)
I am using Windows XP Pro 32bit. The crash was caused by the following:
    AppName: consolcu.exe
    AppVer:2.6.5.0
    ModName: modegmu.dll
    ModVer:2.60.26.0
    Offset: 0002ca64
How can we fix this issue?

  • I am going to BUY an XFI Fatility in just a few minutes and

Just so everyone on this message board knows, I have been reading and reading
till the only way I can determine if this thing works is by getting one. I have
come to grips that if it were to cause me to slick my dri've Ill do it. All I have to
do is remove a Li've 5. Platinum and drivers. That should be know problem for the preinstallation of the XFI.
I want to let anyone on here interested know that there is an ongoing software conflict with Logitech product drivers, Asus update(has never worked properly in my opinion anyway) further more about Asus upate , YOU SHOULD ALWAYS FLASH YOUR MB BIOS WITH AFUDOS FROM A BOOTABLE DISK. COMMAND PROMPT "AFUDOS /i[name of .rom] /o[save .rom]. Also notice I did not put a space inbetween the i and the file name as well as o for the save. I just flashed my Asus P4C800E-Deluxe with a long running Beta Bios of 024.0. Since its been up for months that ususally means for Asus it hasnt gotten any complaints to any severe extent or they would have pulled it. I actually notice an improvment in my system in fact.
So I am going to Pay 300 bills for this card because It should be a great audio card and I love the 5.25 bays.
I already determined that the new Setpoint drivers for the new Logitech Laser Cordless Mice caused a conflict. Also I feel the middle mouse button is not a good solution for gamers with it moving from side to side. I use the middle mouse button to zoom frequently.
Anyway. I bought the MX58 and used the drivers with it. Any version of setpoint drivers above these caused me conflicts and problems which initially pointed to hardware. So my point is that some of the problems everyone is having may be driver related.
Asus update PERIOD is buggy and dangerous. So take my advice never flash with it or use it period.
Secondly any new Logitech driver for whatever product may be the culprit. I am not kidding. I have proven it on my system.
BUT, all of you are probably laughing saying I am going to get screwed. Well I have decided to take the risk. I assure you I will come back and let you know my findings.
So here is where my system stands prior to loading an XFI probably Fatality or the $200 dollar model.
.)Asus P4C800E-Deluxe flashed to the 024.0 Bios. (no problems)
2.)EVGA 6800 Ultra with the newest nvidia certified drivers. Tweaked only with reg keys.
3.)gig Corsair 3200 memory in 4 slots and running correctly in Dual Channel.
4.)Raid 0 with more than enough disk space.
Within the past 2 weeks I did a complete slick of my dri've. I didnt ghost it. I loaded a minimum of ap
    ps.
My favorite games only. So my computer is flying as a matter fact.
A good game to test your machine with is "Painkiller". Although the bugs in the game are well know. Crash to the screen. Hang during game play. If the game plays for long periods before any of these things occur than you have a really good game system running if you can play at 280x024 everything maxed in Painkiller that is. Also I play all my games in 280x024.
Furthermore take note of this. I just bought "Sin Emergence" ,loaded it and played it after Steam updated it. I had sound glitching problems in the game which I attribute to my outdated Li've 5.. It happens almost in all games. BUT I went to play F.E.A.R. Today and I got the infamous staticky movie intro visually as will as sound. I could go into video options once in the game and just make sure my res was set to my liking and get out and then it functioned I think properly.
Well I saved my save games and profile and uninstalled Fear. I reloaded it up to patch .4 and what do you know it works perfectly now.
So did Loading "Sin Emergence" cause this? Honestly its the only change I made since playing Fear so I would have to conclude that something did occur software wise to give me this problem.
I will tell you people I will troubleshoot the hell out of the XFI because I do believe that the moderators and such on the forum hear really dont know what is going on. The one thing alarming I did read was that
Creative Labs is prioritizing their work for Vista. That means compatibility in XP is not a high priority for them right now. Therefor it is up to us to get the thing to work.
    So Ill be back

Its been 4 days now since I installed the XFI Platinum. I am still notating many things to make sure I get the best performance out of it.
For me fortunately the XFI is working. It did what I hoped it would do and that is take away the glitching and crackling and popping I was getting using an SB Li've 5. Platinum.
For anyone interested, and just to let you know I am a computer services business owner and technician for 9 years and have been working with creative products since the very first Sound Blaster 6 was around. Thats Dos and windows days for those who want the simple.
To the previous poster you are absolutely correct about the processes loading. As a technician you must never think you know everything so using Google is an everyday thing for me. I have already done it in regards to finding out what certain files are that are running at startup and even an outdated service that I dont need running. Since I did what you suggested yesterday before even reading this I will let other people learn from your suggestion and mine for that matter.
But you are wrong in implying that it is okay to flash a bios while in the operating system. I have been using Asus boards for years.
I have a P2B, CUSL, CUSL2, The VIQ P3 board I cant remember the model. Slot though and now I have the P4C800E-Deluxe
I would say I have quite a bit of experience using ASUS motherboards wouldnt you? Actually I have 4 running right now. The VIA board is the only one not in use but still works.
My first experiences with ASUS update were not good as a matter of fact. When I discovered it was attempting to flash my bios while working in the OS I cancelled QUICKLY.
Any technician that is experienced like myself will STRONGLY reccomend a MB Bios be flashed from a clean boot from either a CDrom or Floppy. Yes I know Floppy dri'ves are archaic now but everyone of my computers has one and even the new PCI-E boards I am pretty sure have the option of having a 3.5 floppy dri've. If I had the money to upgrade to an SLI Asus board and I had 2 7900s I would . I assure you. but my system works great.
I believe I already stated its specs.
Anyway my experience with the XFI after 4 days is like this.
I found it necessary to reinstall the game F.E.A.R and when I did the game showed the Creative HD logo which I did not see before the reinstall. Obviously I saved my profile and games. Any gamer knows to do this. So after reinstall I enabled all 3 features in the game , put my saved games back and its great. I mean great. The 3d in my headphones is worth the money alone. I am hearing sounds and music that I never heard before.
So here is my point. I would conclude that in some cases in MAY be necessary to reinstall a game to get the card to funcetion properly. With that being said it MAY be necessary to reinstall your OS as well. For me since I was using the driver that comes with XP and the update from creative I was fortunatelly so far behind I believe that is why I havnt had to reinstall my OS. This is my opinion purely and reinstalling an OS to get the XFI to work properly Is obviously a posibility for many people.
Many computer users do not know about disabling processes at startup. Disabling services.
Most people expect the hardware to work right no matter what condition their computer is in.
So my final thought on the 4th day is that if you can try it and you dont care, try reinstalling XP if thats your OS. I mean clean install. Save everything you need to save.
BUT DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE XFI IN THE SYSTEM. After the OS is loaded and you have connectivity to the net , drivers for your video card , then open your box up and put the card in and try installing it the way it says.
That seriously might get the card to work for many poeple. Almost all games have saved game folders that you can save. Most every serious PC user that would buy this card would also have their games on another partition or dri've itself.
So here are the test games I have used so far.
    Doom 3
    Painkiller
    FEAR
I have many more games to test it with like Half Life 2, NFSMW, etc.
So Ill come back and tell you what I found.
Oh I have removed all unnessary processes I have been able to determine from Creative now and the XFI is running great. The Volume Panel doesnt seem to bog my system down. I mean I am playing FEAR at 280x024 with very good frame rates. I have EVGA 6800 Ultra OCed to 433Mhz Core Clock. I also OCed my P4 3.2 to 3.36
I hope every one gets theirs to work but I have to suggest that the XFI may not be so messed up as is beeing suggested by many. I almost didnt buy it because I read so many potential problems. I was most conserned about Service Pack 2. Incidentely I am still running Service Pack and the XFIs apps all loaded and are functioning properly. No errors.

Flash Media Live Encoder has experienced an unrecoverable exception. The details here may help to locate the problem. If the module listed is a third party driver, try updating or using a different driver. For reproducible problems within Flash Media Live Encoder itself, send this file to  [email protected] with a description of what you were doing when the exception occurred.

I think FMLE forum would be right place to post this query - you can post it here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash/flash_media_live_encoder?view=discussions

  • XFi-Fatal1ty /w top end machine stutteri

    I purchased and built a new computer. It's a:
    Quad core QX6700 (4 x 2.667GHz) processor<
    EVGA nForce 680i motherboard<
    EVGA Geforce 8800GTX /w 768MB RAM per card x 2 in SLI mode<
    2GB PC6400 RAM (800MHz)<
    XFi Fatalty Audio card<
    50GB Raptor HD (fast)<
    30" Dell 3000WFP running at 2560 x 600<
    Windows XP Pro SP2<
Latest drivers for everything including motherboard.<
Now, the games I'm currently playing are:
    Medieval 2: Total War<
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic<
    Neverwinter Nights 2<
The problems I'm experiencing are only with the sound. Dark Messiah is absolutely the worst offender with persistant stuttering audio that happens so frequently that I can only play it for a few minutes before having to quit and restart. I actually suspect the game implementation because of how buggy it is. Looks like it has potential once resolved.
With all the games, however, I have frequent clicking sounds whenever videos are being played (Bink mainly). Also an oddity is that I also get clicking sounds in-game while scrolling around or essentially anything that causes a lot of changes in the video such as intense combat. This computer is so fast, that even at the highest possible video settings, I am pretty much stuck at 60FPS, except for NWN2 which hovers around 30FPS with max settings. Medieval 2 has it's moments in combat where I'm getting over 200FPS with FRAPS engaged!
My theory is that the extreme amount of video data being passed around might be causing issues with audio not getting enough bandwidth to do it's own thing, so I tested it by dropping the resolution and it didnt' make a difference in a series of tests. What I did notice is that the music is getting interference, higher pitched or more busy music is subject to the clicking sounds while scrolling in Medieval 2. When the music is quiet and faded between songs, there are no distortions at all.
I started the tech support process and they emailed me an article from their knowledge base:

// --> </SCRIPT>Optimizing your system for better sound performanceDuring audio play back, you may receive random drop outs, repeating sounds or constant distortion (hissing/crackling sound). All these symptoms (and any other degradation of sound quality for that matter) can mostly be traced back to system / BIOS settings that prevent your audio sub-system from functioning properly. In other words, if your system is optimised ("tweaked") for a specific task, the result might be that the extra bit of 3D power or data transfer speed to the dri'ves uses up so much of the systems resources, that there is simply not enough left for your sound card to do its job as it should. Sometimes even the factory settings of certain PCs / Motherboards can cause symptoms as described above.
The following guide is separated into the following main sections. If changing one specific setting does not resolve the difficulty, it is recommended that you change it back to the previous setting, or the default setting, before proceeding with a different configuration.
    <a target="_blank">General Troubleshooting steps<img height="0[/img] width="" src="http://ask.americas.creative.com/wwimages/style/arrow.GIF">[/url]
Ensure your Sound Blaster card is installed in a PCI slot as far away as possible from components such as graphics card, CPU and hard dri'ves.<
Ensure that?the PCI slot?doesn't share resources with other devices in your PC (mainly graphics card, dri've interfaces, etc...)<
Remove all unnecessary hardware. Every device installed in your system uses some of the available resources, even if you do not acti'vely use it.<
Tidy up all cables inside your computer as electrical interference may be caused otherwise.<
Ensure that audio drivers are up to date.<
Download and install the latest chipset drivers and BIOS update. The major chipset manufactures are: VIA/ETEQ, AMD/Nvidia, Intel, SIS. Ali? Note: If you have a motherboard with a hybrid chipset consisting of AMD Northbridge and VIA Southbridge, ensure you download the latest driver package from your motherboard manufacturer. <span class="majorheader"><

    To address the issues:
With SLI, I only have PCI slot, which is between the two video cards with the SLI connector going over top of it. There is no possible way to get closer to the video cards...<
    Everything else checks out.<
    Other notes:
Going to the Creative Entertainment Center : Entertainment Center?Settings pops up a window which allows me to tweak remote control settings. I tried disabling the remote control and the program crashed!<
Using the Mode Switcher to switching modes from Game Mode to Entertainment mode didn't solve the problem. Neither did Audio Creation Mode.<
I've printed out the article and going to work on changing some of the settings.<

Figured my dxdiag info would help...still trying to fix the problem. I chopped some stuff out. [size="" face="Courier New">------------------

  • [CRASH] Win7 64bit + X-Fi Titanium BSOD OPENAL

i'm just sick about blue screen window with the xfi titanium.
When Creative will release proper driver for WIN Seven 64bit's
    here is the log:
    Bug Check 0x3B: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff88004ec32dc, 0xfffff88006a090, 0x0000000000000000)
The driver involved is ALWAYS ha20x22k

does the BSOD occur while gaming? if so, what game? or does the crash occur while at the desktop? when playing music? watching DVDs?
If you believe it to be related to OpenAL, make sure to update/replace the OpenAL files in the game directory with the latest ones from the OpenAL release in summer 2009.
As well reinstalling the soundcard drivers to make sure they are 00% never hurts

  • Optional drivers for xfi extreme music?

Been using this card for 2+ years with no probs. Just did a fresh install of xp pro student and crysis crashes often. Some of the issues were ati vid drivers and still may be, but I was able to find and try older versions of the vid card dri'ves that have improved the issue.
I would like to try older versions of sound card drivers but between the black circles that obscure much of this forum and no listing of?older xfi drivers on creatives download page I have not found anything.
Also would like to find WHQL approved xfi drivers for xp. The only driver at creatives site pops up the "not approved" window during installation.

+ No more black circles. I can now search and read replies but to no avail. I still have not found info on whql xfi drivers or older drivers.
I have searched here and the net with poor results.
    Am I missing something obvious?

  • Cannot access creative audio console with xfi

    Hello
Since i've patched my xfi elite pro card with the latest patch i cannot access the creative console anymore when i double click on the systray volume panel icon,it just crash and ask me to send crash information to microsoft when using japanese unicode setting to run japanese programs.
Clicking directly on the creative console launcher in the start menu also crash.
When i switch back to french unicode setting the reati've console works again but i work most of the time with japanese software so i cant do that.
Is there any way to fix that?Message Edited by Hawat on 0-2-2006 05:27 PM

    Look in Start/All Programs/Creative

  • X-Fi Elite Pro Dissapears in Device Manager after Crash

    Hi guys...
I have a big problem wich is may already mentioned in this forum...
Its kind of strange that the sound card is working really good but when my pc crashes and i have to restard the pc the xfi card is not deteced any more
There is not even a yellow questionmark indicating that there is just a driver issue...
    The card is just away...
And now it comes even more strange... i switched of the computer and next day... the card was deteced and working like there werent any wrong...
Its also really freaking me out cause i played oblivion and the game crashes... i've waited 30 minutes and then the game shuts down and windows gave me a error message that my graphic card is not working property o.O
So its may the issue adresses to my graphic cards?
So just to give a detailed view to my problem i show my specs:
    Mother Board: Extreme Striker
    Chipset: 680i NVIDIA
    Graphic Card: Sli 7800 XTX
    Sound Card: X-Fi Elite Pro
    Ram: 4gig
CPU: X6800 Intel Core 2 Duo
    O/S: Windows Professionel 32bit

It really depends on the connection electronics. Having nothing connected doesn't mean anything really. Try connecting something THEN test the noise level!

  • Computer crashes after enabling EAX /

I just bought a sounblaster XFI Extreme Audio, and when I enable EAX and any kind of sound goes off.. windows crashes. I tried reinstalling the drivers, no dice, reinstalled windows then drivers, no dice.. customer support was a joke about it told me to do what I already did and left it there, of which I told them I already did in the message I sent to them....
    I am out of idea's.
    Anyone else have/had this problem?
    Know a fix?
    system specs:
    athlon xp 2700 barton processor
    nforce2 motherboard
    radeon 9800 pro
    .5gb ram
    Windows XP pro
    Soundblaster XFI xtreme audio
Message Edited by SmoothKnight on 03-22-2008 08:0 AM

What exactly do you mean by enabling EAX? As in are you trying to play a game with EAX sound effects, and it causes a crash, or are you trying to access something in EAX control panel before the crashboom? Nvidia has released many updates to their NForce2 chipset drivers, which also include huge improvements/fixes for EAX. I don't know if this only relates to onboard sound chips or external cards too, but at least reading the documentation might be worth it. "Fix for EAX reverbs; initialized EAX reverbs to off when querying for the EAX listener interface; updated EAX property handlers to ignore invalid parameters instead of range limiting -- this matches Creative EAX behavior." is what I picked up with a quick peek, but that's from an ages old NForce2 update I'd presume.
And yeah, usually - the bigger the company, more crappy the customer support. Most of the time it doesn't matter if you tell them "MY DINGAMABOB DOEZ NOT WORK LULS" or if you write a fi've-page detailed description of everything possible and provide them with everything from screenshots to test results to memory dum
    ps.
All you get is a link to a guide which tells you how to reinstall drivers, and then you are put "on hold" for a week or two (the very same on ATI, NVidia too). Overworked, underpaid, unmotivated (random mixture of those) support staff is the trend of the day.
