Xfi extreme music pci - chassis connect

Hi guys, I would like to connect my chassis (CM stacker 830)front audio panel so that I can plug my headsets. My chassis supports AC'97 and azalia (HD audio) connectors. Is there a way to connect the chassis to this sound card.
BTW I have a maximus extreme mobo, and I removed the sound card that came with it.

Like to know how you managed to get the card in Game Mode seeing as it doesn't even support it. Then again that card was never marketed as a gaming card, or are you seeing something in the specifications,
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=5 855&nav=technicalSpecifications
that I am missing?
Also don't even bother with hardware mode in game as there is no hardware on the card (EMU20K2), software mode only.

• CD-ROM Audio Connector on XFI-Extreme Music Addit

Hi Guys,?I was looking at the specs on the XFI-Extreme Music Addition card. I do not see any mention of an internal connector to connect the CD/DVD rom to the sound card for listening to audio CDs. Does this card not have such a connector? How do you listen to audio CDs without such a cable connecting these devices. Thanks in advance?

Hi Stormy 3?Had that unchecked. Thanks? a lot. Now I have learnt something new. I always thought you needed that cable. And the Audigy ZS 2 was the first sound card I had that came with a cable to connect to the digital slot on the ROM dri've. All the other cards I had only had the analogue cable. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

• Sound only plays in Front left speak on Windows 7 with Xfi Extreme Music??

I have Xfi Extreme Music (SB0640). In installed the lastes drivers for windows 7 (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://forums.creative.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/#]Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series driver 2.8.003 ), When I run a speaker test all 6 speakers work, however when I use media player, media center etc. Only the front left speaker works.
Do I need to install creative Alchemy?
Console Launchers does not load on boot
Any asistance will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

NRe: Sound only plays in Front left speak on Windows 7 with Xfi Extreme Music? You will need to have the Creative Console Launcher which will let you have CMSS-3d or Creative Multichannel Surround Sound. You can find the newest version for your card here......

Honestly though, dont bother with just that. Get Daniel K.'s X-FI support pack which is updated with the newest drivers and applications for your card. Plus, he tweaked those with fixes for installation/integration? under operating systems other than XP.
That can be found here.......

And the link is still good.

• XFi xtreme music PCI + HD 2900XT vista 64 drivers incompatib

I can get my HD 2900XT card working fine on its own.
I can get my XFi Xtreme music PCI card working on its own.
Installed together they cause constant lockups and crashes.
Which ever cards drivers I install second after a clean windows install takes many many hours. Very odd.
Disabling AVS unified stream- no effect
Disabling XFi driver with card installed improves stability slightly but still multiple crashes.
Any suggestions, bar snapping the sound card in two?

You have a SB0467 which is a Dell oem X-Fi card. I do not believe it's "origional" or retail. I got mine on ebay brand new for $45. I knew what I was buying (my system is a Dell). The clue to not being retail is that there usually is no retail box, manual, software, etc. I got the card only. So in a nutshell: no support

• Purchased XFI extreme audio PCIe for someone and it won't install on vista 32

The hardware isn't detected and thus cannot be installed. I had the same problem with my fatality titanium but at least there was a patch download for windows 7 so the card can be detected. No such patch exists for the extreme audio PCIe which means the card won't install under windows vista or windows 7.
Am I missing something or what? I have read other similar complaints about this particular XFI.

EUREKA!
Reading the bowls of the post just below, It said to make sure shockwave was enabled. It wasn't!! I enabaled it and tried my web sites and things worked fine.

You have to get the X-Fi I/O Dri've. Unfortunately Creative doesn't sell it anymore themselves. You can find it online, though refurbished.

• Line-in not working with Xfi extreme audio pci-e

Hi,
im trying to play my xbox360 on my computer, the video with my winfast dtv000T is ok, but whenI try to get the sound by connecting the xbox360 sound in one of the two mic/line-in I get nothing (tried in K!TV, Winfast PVR, DScaler). Im running XP SP3. I can use teamspeak with the mic but I dont know why when I try to use the line in for sound capture its not working at all (its working with my onboard soundcard, but I prefer my xfi). I connect my xbox to the blue female jack 3.5.
here are my settings:
Output:

I dont know what to do :/
anyone have an idea what is causing this ?
thx in advance

Under applications there is this version:
My line-in worked as this is the entertainment mode that?you can turn on your Line-in under the mixer tab. Problem is, when I play my guitar there is quite a latency that is unbearable (.05) for a guitarist. I don't know if this should bother your application for it.

• XFI Extreme Music workaround for hanging and lock

Well I think I found a workaround for all the problems with my new XFI XM card.
I uninstalled it by activating a System Restore point to just before I installed the drivers with the Installation CD.
Then I rebooted and when the Add New Hardware prompt popped up as it detected the installed XFI card I made sure my XFI install disk was in the dri've and went through the wizard. It located the drivers it needed on the install disk. Finished the installation and rebooted.
Been running my system ever since, bout 0 hours now, also played Rise of Legends for about 2 hours straight (and if anyone knows how buggy ROL can be, thats no small feat), ran Itunes, all the normal stuff I do and not one glitch or hangup since. Even with about 50+ units duking it out in ROL I had momentary spots where the sounds seemed to bleed together but hey, with all that stuff going on and no lockup or BOOM BOOM BOOM starting up non stop, I'm a happy camper.
Granted I didn't install any of the other fancy software from the install disk, but this is much better, at least it works with no locku
ps.
Hope this maybe helps anyone else who at least wants a functional system.
Have a good one.

Hi KokChoy, thanks for the reply. The reason I am asking is that others seem to be having the same issue with the Vista CD available online and seems to relate only to the extrememusic. Has the CD available online been updated since release It appears as though the online CD is for all XFI cards (except extreme audio). I was under the assumption that this would be the same CD which was distributed through retail with Xfi product's. The CD which I received with my extremegamer does have the drivers for the extrememusic as I pointed vista to the CD to search for drivers and it did indeed locate and install as an extrememusic.
Not meaning to sound rude so I appologize in advance if I do but upon researching this I have found a number of posts but they all seem to contain "may not", "might", "should" or something similar. I was hoping to get some form of official response about the status of the install CD and specifically the extrememusic before ordering and paying shipping and handling for something which may end up being of no use to me.
Thanks.

• XFI Extreme Music Prob

My system is listed below in my Sig, My problem is a Strange one as My card seems to be working fine except for the fact of when I attempt to adjust my settings IE Creative Media Player. I Get an Error(No Hardware supporting this program) as if the System is running off Windows Default or On Board Sound card (Which Ive since Disabled in Bios ) In Other Words when you attempt to go further and Change From Windows Default to Creative XFI on drop down Dialog box for a Sound source , There are no other Choices but XP Default ? . Ive tried reseating the card and also changing the PcI slot card is located in. Im currently using the beta driver that expires in sept., I hoped this would cure the problem , but It did not.
So in a nutshell while I am getting 5. sound from My Logitech Z5500 System, I cannot Change any settings , Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated. I Hope I Explained my problem well enough ,
Thanks
FB

Are you sure you're actually using the X-Fi as soundcard? And not some internal card?
If you have an internal card did you disable it's In the bios if possible?

• XFI-Extreme Music-Microphone is not detec

First of hey and sorry if this is an appropriate post but i looked at the stickies and they didn't help so im posting.
Ive had a XFI card for almost over 2 years now and obviously i have been using the sound for it but i haven't connected my microphone to it as I've have been using the realtek drivers on my motherboard but last week i lost on microphone input and had to resort to using a USB mic that i borrowed, thinking it was my headset i brought another and tried today and its still not recognizing my voice. So i plugged the mic in my XFI port and tried to see if it reconises voice but it doesn't, but when i go through the help and set up software and it asks to speak out the sentence it doesn't pick it up but if i turn the mic on and off it picks up sound for a brief second. I updated all drivers both for the card and motherboard and tried using both headsets which both work perfectly and still no luck so im asking outto you guys if you had the same problems and have the solution to my problem.
Thanks in advanced

I guess that should have been more obvious than it was :smileysurprised: yes, I had 'what you hear' selected. That would also explain why muting the playback of the mic was stopping people hearing me on vent/teamspeak.
just going to go check this now, thank you. Two pairs of eyes/brains better than one and all that.
[edit]
yes, that was precisely it - I feel ever so slightly embarrassed but thank you for the help.

• XFi Extreme Music Card Probl

I just bought my Xfi card a couple of days ago; My Audigy One was working fine(just as a baseline) My board is a Asus A8V bios 04 2 GB ram, A64 3500. My current test game is Call of Duty with the .4 patch. I have installed all of the driver updates this week; Game crashes almost immediatly. I first had a IRQ conflict with my Geforce 6800GT. I moved the X-fi card to slot 4 and no more conflict; however same problem with the game. I also get some cracklin in the speakers when the system boots up.
Question number one; should I plug a floppy power cable to the card? One post seemed to think that you should. This is just the Xtreme Music card with no accessories; the manual refers to this for "powering the X-fi I/o console via the AD_Link Connector. Any thoughs on this or my problem in general. I will try other games and see if it continues.

Actually, if you check the fine print at dell's website you will see a # footnote that says?basically that their card may vary from a retail one and also that the dolby is accessed via the DVD software they include.
Anyway here are 2 links to discussions right here in the forums that talk about it and I'm SURE if you did a search you would find even more, hint hint <wink>

• Optional drivers for xfi extreme music?

Been using this card for 2+ years with no probs. Just did a fresh install of xp pro student and crysis crashes often. Some of the issues were ati vid drivers and still may be, but I was able to find and try older versions of the vid card dri'ves that have improved the issue.
I would like to try older versions of sound card drivers but between the black circles that obscure much of this forum and no listing of?older xfi drivers on creatives download page I have not found anything.
Also would like to find WHQL approved xfi drivers for xp. The only driver at creatives site pops up the "not approved" window during installation.

+ No more black circles. I can now search and read replies but to no avail. I still have not found info on whql xfi drivers or older drivers.
I have searched here and the net with poor results.
Am I missing something obvious?

• Xfi extreme music hook

Sorry about this stupid question. Every Soundblaster I've owned has had a 4 pin hook up going to my cd-rom. I can't figure out ,for the life of me, which plug to plug this into or if it is even needed. Also, is the power plug needed on this card? Thanks for any help !!

Hi Sampson,
The CD-Audio cable used to be there so you could get some from your audio-CDs. Nowadays, in newer Operating Systems and software, the audio goes through the IDE-bus (this is how you connect your CD/DVD-ROM to your motherboard). The audio cable isn't needed anymore.
The power plug on the card is used when you connect the external I/O console. If you have the card on it's own, then you don't need to connect the power.

• Augraded from audigy2 to xfi extreme music lost spdif in power

Hi am not verry good at this sound stuff read a bunch of post that i thought where related to my problem but i cant find and answer ...
when i upgraded my sound card i lost my 5. when playing dvd from my dvddri've and my hard dri've when i select spdif in powerdvd i dont get any sound am using i think the coax cables green blank and orange cables, in the creative audio console under the bit-matched i get "unknown or invalid signal" on digital-in and s/pdif-in, am using logitech z5500d
like i said am not good with this sound stuff so if your missing anything please ask
Thanks for your help

Well, despite this thread being old, i would like to add that i'm experiencing a very similar Problem (running Vista and PowerDVD 8 Ultra Deluxe) and it is most definitely not solved by re-installing PDVD or enabling the internal Decoder. I have no sound if i set PDVD to S/PDIF, while the same setting works with all other DVD Player Software i use. The VLC Mediaplayer has absolutely no problem, Nero has not, WMP has not. PDVD has not as long as i use version 7. As soon as i use version 8 it will not output to the X-Fi decoders anymore. I should maybe mention that i'm aware of the signal-path and i do know how to actually set the path. i have additionally a logitech z5500 system, which could sometimes be used for decoding and sometimes not, depending on the driver for the x-fi. Currently, with the new driver i'm still testing but it seems that since the internal decoders are enabeld and back to working order, the throughput of the ac3 or dts signal from the dvd to the z5500 does not work anymore either. So i am having the situation that internal Decoders are working with some software but not all and throughput seems to not work at all at the moment. But with the latter i'm still toying around. Maybe it does actually work if applied correctly god i love this mess...
[Solution]
I messed it up, basically. Disabling the onboard audiodevice (Realtek AC97) makes even PDVD use the (unsigned) X-Fi drivers.
