XFI front panel digital out probl

Ive had an xfi card for a while now, the xtreme pro gamer, i've loved it, and i wanted to upgrade and get the front panel for 80$, so i did, hoping i could connect my 5. headset threw fiber optic rather than the analog, and my 000 watt surround sount threw digital coax. The only reason?I didnt buy the flex jack module was because?I need a port for a mic.
Well i got it yesterday and everything seems to be working, exept for the fact that it doesnt recodnize my back speakers?on either one,?my headset and surround sound in my room.
Just?the front speakers, center and sub are recodnize, so wen i go into my thx console in game or entertainment mode, and i?click the back speakers to make a sound, the sound comes from the front speakers ...wtf ,
Secondly on my heaset base?the?dolby Pro Logic light is on..shouldn't the Dolby Digital Light be on.
Sombody plz help, this is driving me nuts.
just cause i know you will all ask, my in room surround sound is a 000watt phillips 5. surround sound home theater system
and my headset is this .. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...94&sku=T26-090
my headset worked beutifally before , wen connected by analog, i was hoping it would be better with fiber optic..

Bump?..

  • Final thought on Creative Digital Speakers & no XFi 5.1 digital out

Hold on to any Audigy &2 or SB Li've 5. cards if you own Creative Digital speakers!! My Inspire 5700 speakers are no use for analogue connections. They were made to connect to Creative Digital output sound cards ONLY. The PR at the time said something along the lines of
"It (the SB Li've 5.) comes with digital I/O with S/PDIF digital input/output, MIDI input/output and a Mini-DIN digital out for connecting to Cambridge SoundWorks digital speakers."
So without a compatible card the Creative speakers are useless. I remember being furious when I first realised the inspire decoder would not easily connect to my DVD player or any other type of sound card!
Creative must have known dropping this DIN output in the XFi range would anger their customers and that without the matter being explicitly pointed out, everyone with digital speakers would assume continued support from the new flagship range of soundcards. To try and pretend that any use of Inspire Digital speakers with the XFi range is anything but crippled is outrageous! It is obvious why there is no mention of the 5. DIN output being dropped just as it is obvious the contempt with which Creative hold their customers. It is not just this issue that has formed my low opinion of Creative.(e.g. EAX and VOIP in games were touted in the early SB Li've days and are only now working at all acceptably, many generations of sound card later!).
It is a sad fact that companies who enjoy market domination feel they have the right to behave in this way.Message Edited by hetzer on 02-09-2006 04:52 PM

Another suggestion:It is better if you have a 64 bit hardware supported by 64 bit Win XP or Vista. In my computer the hardware is of 2003 and is of 32 bit. However I can get results only with XP service pack 2 (32 bit)or Vista 32 bit.Normal XP may not work. However I can only get 48 Khz sampling rate and not the advertised 96 Khz sampling rate. Is it due due 32 bit hardware/software?The manufacturer recommends a 64 bit version for best results.

  • How do I cause a vi to sent the contents of it's Front Panel Indicators out to STD OUT?

I inherited an intermixed bag of software tools that are called from Command Line Interfaces I would like to add some code that I have written in LabVIEW to this bag. The only problem I have at the moment is getting anything that looks like a standard output argument from LabVIEW.  Is this possible? For example lest say I have a vi that performs a number of tests based on input criteria at the completion of the tests the indicators on the front panel look like oh say,  a Boolean that says Pass, a string that says Unit Name, and an array of strings that holds the names of the tests run, and a numeric that indicates the number of tests performed. How can I pass these values to STD OUT?

an old thread I know but wanted to share this howto use a LabVIEW executable with SystemExec
    - pass your command line arguments by using the LabVIEW Application Property Node App.Args
    - write to std out using System.Console.WriteLine
    - write to std err using System.Console.OpenStandardError (string2byteArray, see screenshot)
This solution is pure .net and works for 32 and 64bit systems.

  • Audigy ES Digital out probl

Hi, im trying to hook my Kinyo d565 speakers and decoder up to the digital out on my audigy soundcard.
Now first off, the decoder has 3 inputs - analogue stero, digital RCA(coaxial), and digital optical.
i've tried doing everything in audioHQ to get any sound out of my speakers (they work fine when i just use the line out on the sound card and the stereo input on my decoder).
i've connected the digital out on the soundcard to the optical in on the decoder using a 3.5mm to toslink optical digital cable.
i have no idea why im not getting any sound at all. is it my cable? - do i need to get a 3.5mm mono to RCA cable?
any help would be greatly appreciated
    ps.
i've tried all the things like selected 2 speaker output, disabling decoding of ac3 etc etc....

  • MOVED: K8t neo fir front panel sound out?

This topic has been moved to AMD64 ATI/SiS/VIA based board.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=117772.0
    Was in the wrong board.

Yes they need to be on if front panel is not connected as mentioned in the manual or you will not have have output at the rear connection. If front panel is connected you should have rear panel output if nothing is plugged in on the front panel output.
The jack acts as a switch, nothing plugged in, output to rear which will be the same as if jumpers were on.

  • Connecting Sound Card to Antec Sonata front panel line out (Headphone) j

I've tried finding an answer to this, but is there ANY Sound Blaster product that has the capability of connecting to the front panel headphone jack an Antec Sontata case? My current card is a basis Sound Blaster Li've! card, model SB0220, and would upgrade if possible. Thanks for any help.

This perhaps not so easy matter you may suppose. Try Driver Heaven forum for example, to find answer, if there is even a possibility to do this (technically there is but has somebody described it)?

  • Platinum XFI front panel problems. Vista

before I installed Windows Vista Ultima 6.0.6000 build. I was able to plud in rcas to the front ports of the soundcards front panel and produce my ps2/wii and so on sound onto my computer speakers. LogitechZ5500. Well ever since I got vista it seems no sound comes through the rcas at all. Will most likely have to buy optical audio cable to connecft from my tv to my speakers directly but kindof annoying. Any ideas on what to try to circumvent this?

guess its optical for this, for now ... I am assuming the optical works as I can see it .....Message Edited by scorpion_saga on 03-5-2007:26 PM

  • TItanium XFi Front Panel audio hookups

I see that for front panel hookups you MUST have the creative IO panel, but I can't seem to find where to buy it...thought I don't want to. I am wanting to use the front panel hookups on this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E68938? or any similar case like it. But there isn't any plugins for the audio hooksup on this "advanced" soundcard. I was wondering if the cable here would work: http://picasaweb.google.es/rmorinr/SoundBlasterXFi#5099379872528468578 ?
Or if someone could point me in the direction that creative has the IO front port hidden for purchase that would be great.

I'm getting the same issue, I've read a lot of threads elsewere and it seems that antec is not an standard HD front panel, so basically we have to plug them manually their pins unfortunatelly I haven't any luck doing that

  • Audigy Value and Digital Out probl

    I read the faq.
I have the Audigy Value card with the digital I/O mini-jack. I tried using a standard optical cable with an adapter mini-jack "cap" to pop on one end to plug into the sound card, and the other end into my digital in on my stereo. I still can't get any sound, is there some setting I am missing.
I pop in my Hercules sound card that has a normal type optical out and everything works fine without me messing with it, so I know it isn't the stereo input.

  • Audigy 1 SB0090 and CoolerMaster Centurion 5 Front Panel Au

Hi is it possible to connect the front panel audio headers of the Cooler Master Centurion T05 casing to the Audigy SB0090 AUD_EXT header? I don't have the creative properity connecter(white connecter on top left of card) on the card.
Thanks and hope to hear some replies soon.

    hope for your replies... thanks...
    Audio output:
If you can't find a 0-pin Proprietary connector on Audigy's board then the only solution is split the signal from Front L/R cannel (it can be splitted from Rear L/R too, but you need to be able to output stereo signal to Rear L/R too (speakers set to 4/4., etc.)).
    Microphone:
Same base rules as above but no extra settings needed.

My motherboard audio has an HD Audio connector, is there a way to enable routing the sound through that?

Well the most common way is to enclude the vi's in the build spec either directly in the dependancies that the App builder automatically generates OR by declaring them in the build spec as "additional enclusions" (like you must do for dynamic vi calls in your app.
I have heard rummors about My.app Stuff.vi in a nugget Intaris posted- and I've wanted to dig deaper into Intaris' claims- but have not tried it myself.
If you go down the stuff.vi route Keep us curious guys posted

  • Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Probl

Hello everyone. Thank you in advance for any help.
My problem is two-fold, let me begin with the first issues.
Critical Issue One: On my Audigy 2 Platinum neither the headphone jack nor the Line 2 in/Mic 2 in jacks appear to be at all functional. I can get no sound to go in or come out using them. Additionally, I don't see a volume slider to control either of them in the surround mixer. Is it possible somehow that the entire front panel is disabled? I looked inside my computer and it appears to be connected firmly (the AD_EXT cable is the only one connecting my sound card to anything internally). As a side note I have already tried doing a full, clean reinstall of the drivers, to no avail.
Issue Two: I can no longer auto update my drivers using Creative's site. I believe this is somehow related to IE7, it always functioned perfectly with IE6. When I try to update now the message I get is: "Some components are corrupted." I did a search in the knowledge base and followed the instructions to fix this problem (Deleting the Acti've X controls) but this does not resolve the issue (I also noticed by searching the forums that people with similar problems never found a resolution beyond "doing a manual driver install"). I believe that the acti've x controls that I am downloading get corrupted each time. Is it possible that someone could send me, fully functional non corrupted creative acti've x controls that I could install? Or is this simply an incompatibility between the creative site and IE7?

  • X-fi digital out distortion/volume probl

What I'm doing is hooking up the digital out of my PC to my TV, utilizing its speakers (to save space for my cramped dorm room. Good news is, I can hear sounds from my computer. Bad news is, it is at an extremely low volume (computer volume maxed, and TV volume at 90/00 to hear it at all, and has a lot of distortion coming from it. At first I thought the problem was interference, but I got a new cable yesterday and it's just as bad as before. (not to mention, the original analog speakers I was using still work.) Oddly enough, one of the sounds I'm hearing seems to be created only when I'm moving my wireless mouse (which is why I thought it was an interference problem at first)?I?have an X-fi Platinum running on vista?(using new drivers, and the vista version of the programs), and I'm using a 3.5 minijack male-to-male cable (supposedly well-shielded) to connect it to the "PC audio in" on my LG 32LC7D TV. So, can anyone clue me in as to how to solve this conundrum?
