Xfi platinum dual sound out

I would like to find out if this product is capable of doing dual sound out? So you have sounds from dvd out into headphone and music out to speakers. is this possible of this product??

If you mean two separate stereo outputs then, it's possible (X-Fi Plat is 7.1 card -> 8 analog mono output channels available (in PCI Card) + 2 analog mono output channels (in I/O Drive). I don't know if the Headphone-out in I/O Drive is shared w/ ports in PCI card (line-out 1&2) so, ... .
You need an additional player software that allows you to set the output ports freely --> NI TRAKTOR BeatPort Player and Foobar as for an example can be used (I suggest to use ASIO device drivers w/ this other player).
Your DVD player outputs normally through output channels 1&2 when stereo source is used (and uses DS/MME/WDM device drivers) --> you just set the additional player to output through channels 3&4 (or 5&6, 7&8). Some other settings needs to be done in CT software but, since you don't seem to have the card in hands yet, ...
If you meant to output multichannel (5.1) and stereo simultaenously, that may be a bit more difficult to be done (I quess) ... .

Problem with XFI platinum fatal1ty sound from panel but not from c

I just got an XFI platinum fatalty card with front panel, I have only been able to get sound out of the ports on the acctuall card for about 3 minutes then it screetched and went off. Since then the most I can get is an EXTREEMLY quiet (I need to turn up my speakers and the card volume to full) and distorted sound from my center and rear left speaker (5. set). However the wierd thing is when I plug in the headphones into the front panel it works perfectly, the thing is if i switch it back to speakers i have to restert before the headphones will work again.
I have tried to update the drivers but there are no newer ones, I figure I have it seated correctly or I would have no sound from the panel, I just dont know what to do.
its plugged into a Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI AM2 Motherboard, I have tried it in 2 different PCI slots and nothing changes, I'm running XP.
Help please, it would be much appreciated, I went through hell to get this card deli'vered and not its not working properly!!!

Vista x64 / Logitech Orbit MP / XFi Platinum problem confirmed... PLEASE RE

I was wondering why my 7. option disappeared from my speakers configuration option. Turns out another person had the same issue with his computer and found out that unplugging his Orbit MP fixed the problem. (It was limiting his sound to 5.) Well I had the same configuration but took it a step further to disable the Logitech Orbit recording device in device manager.Problem solved! Im not sure if this is a Vista, a CL, or Logitech problem. I figure I'd throw this out there to let everyone know. Problem reproduced with: XFi Platinum w/ optical out going to external receiver 7.Logitech .5 Quickcam DriversXFi 2_5_0004 drivers (the newest ones) Would like to hear everyone else's comments on this. It's funny how some people say you can enable 5. with vista 64 using alchemy but for 10 days now I have yet to get a response.

My externaldecoder is correctly identifying the output stream as DD/DTS and the front speaker and subwoofer works fine. Also when using my Xbox 360 the sounds correctly get to the rear speakers, so this is likely not a problem of my decoder.
Anyone had a similar problem to this? Any idea why this happens?
My system:
Windows 7 x64
Intel Core2Quad Q6600
4 GB RAM
nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

H I noticed this doesn't just happen with DDL/DTS Connect. The same behaviour happens when I connect my headphones to the plugs on the back of my computer. The rear plugs don't output anything, while the front plugs have "double" output.
I tried all kinds of different drivers, always removing the previous ones and restarting before trying a new one. Right now I'm with the official 2.8.003 X-Fi driver.
Please, somebody help!

Sound out of both rear speakers when I test back left, but nothing when test back rig

I have a sound blaster x-fi Fatalty platinum card (just upgraded from extreme music)and I am having trouble with sound settings on my speakers. (this happened with the music card to). When I run the speaker setup i get front right,left,center and sub perfectly fine but when it comes to the rear thats another problem. When it says rear right there is no sound of the rear right speaker, when it says rear left I get sound out of both rear speakers.
When installing the platinum I uninstalled the drivers and program both in windows xp and vista (I have a dual boot machine) and reinstalled from scratch but it still does this. (this happens on both windows)
I have a set of Logitech 5500 speakers connected by analog and no digital connection as I use it for games only. On the speakers it is set to Direct input with the effect as 6 channel(which is the way I have always had it when it was working).
My system specs are: Intel 6850 dual core cpu, X-FI extreme platinum, EVGA 8800 GTX video card, 2 gigs of ram, Win xp/Vista premium dual boot, Logitech 5500 5. speakers, Dell 24 inch LCD Monitor.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be great.

Xfi platinum prob

I removed a fan from my chipset Nforce4 to put a zalman, i rebooted my computer,
and since that i can have no sound out of the PCI device of my Xfi platinum.
The front panel works fine and i get the sound, but i plugged my speakers on the rear as usual, and now it doesnt work, even with the phones i use on the front panel...
I tried to reboot, to reinstal drivers, and nothing change...
Could you help me please ?

well it has nothin to do with the zalman (but i want to get one too, is it the gold color one? how is it's) but besides that since u opened your case up and then it started, try taking your card out and vacuuming the PCI slot, the card, make sure all dust is clean, i opened my case once and my audio was horrible after but its because the dust jumped around and got into places, i blew it out and it was fine, give that a try, also blow out the ports too.

Xfi platinum optical

I just recieved the xfi platinum installed it and I am getting sound. I am using the optical out on the front of the dri've bay and running the sound to my onkyo surround sound reciever(TX-SR803). However I cannot recieve sound on my rear speakers. The only sound I get is stereo. I have tried the creative speaker connection wizard, but the analog 5. speaker option only gives me stereo sound and the digital out option only has 2.. How do I get sound out my rear speakers? I tried every setting I can find on the creative software.

Its not just this card its all the Xfi's. NONE of them output 5. out the optical out. With the digital out the card only outputs 2.. Cmss3d is suppose to up mix stereo to 5.. what good does that do if the Xfi doesnt even output sound out the center and rear speakers? If you dont believe me go to the speaker connection wizard and check, you wont hear any sound out the rear and center speakers with the digital connection hooked up. DDL or DTS = no sound out of rear speak

I have a sb xfi plat with optical out going to a dd/dts reciever and every time i play an mp3 i only get sound out of the front speakers and not my rears, is anyone else having this issue?

Are you telling me this is how?creative designed this to work because?it isn't working like?every other DDL / DTS connect card out there.
I don't kow how and where exactly the defferences are between those solutions. But as I told it, it is the way the Creative implemention handles it. If you don't use CMSS-3D or use the surround functions of you Decoder (I have a seperate balance for "surround" on my Z-5500 where I can set If the rear speaker are used *at all*) you won't get automaticly Surround Sound with MP3. Of course it still depends a bit on you player software, there are player/filters (AC3 Filter; ffdshow) out there which can do that too. Upmixing Stuff, I mean but then you don't really need DDL. I use it to encode actual game sounds, because strangely I don't have any popping and noise in there while I use it (just read up that crackling/popping thread.

Headsets or microphones with a USB connection cannot be connected to the input connections on a sound card directly. Instead, they must be connected to a USB port on a PC.
They are treated as a separate audio device by Windows. They will be listed as a separate audio device in Device Manager as well as in Windows Multimedia panel. To adjust the volume of the headset or the microphone, use Windows Volume Control.

XFI ELITE PRO SOUND PROBLEM

Hello i was wondering if someone could help me. I have the Xfi Elite Pro sound card but when im playing a game or watching a film on my pc the computer will just freeze and i get these crazy high pitched screaching noises.Sometimes it scares the hell out of me when it happens it only happens when im watching films or gaming i have to reboot the pc to get it to stop does anyone have any ideas whats going on its like a really loud screatching noise. I have the latest drivers and tried old ones but still happens alot.Does anyone know what this could be thanks rich.

C The 'solution' you provided only touches a very small fraction of the problems with Creative sound cards. Only very unexperienced users may not control which sound card is choosen by their operating system. Many of us work with PCs for decades, being used to modify the registry and so on. The drivers of Creative are of an unexcusable low quality.

XFi Platinum - can't get the rack to w

Hello,just bought the Xfi platinum fatalty and although the card works fine, the nternal rack does not do anything. my configuration:OS: win XP 32 bitsMB: P5B Deluxe - Core 2 Duo 6600 - 3 GB RAM?my installation:i plugged the large flat cable into the card and the rack; plugged power into the card.. symptoms:No headset sound?(i did?tick the headsets?box?in the console), the remote does not work;, and there is no light on the rack (should there be a light? since there is one on the card itself maybe tehre is one on the rack as well)?what I have tried so far:remove setpoint SW since i have wireless keyboard and mouse and in this form there was a thread on?external rack and setpoint incompability... did not change anything though (I ahve the internal rack... XFi Platinum Not Detected

XFi Platinum Not DetectedMOkay, so I just?received?a XFi platinum from a friend. Anyways, the problem with the card is that when I put the card into my computer, at times my computer would freeze when attempting to install the drivers. I also had troubles at first when the card would not post causing my computer to not post. Anyways, its gone now and I can go into my desktop, I've tried installing the latest .5 drivers from creative and the old .3 drivers, when I do install them, it goes into "updating windows drivers" and goes straight to asking me to restart my computer. When I restart my computer however, it still doesn't work and dxdiag is not picking up a sound card as well. And to add even more bad luck, I can't seem to find the drivers on my computer at all. It seems like the drivers lied to me or something as I can't find them anywhere, I even tried installing them on safe mode as well. Help, I really want quality sound instead of this crappy onboard I am stuck with. I've also unistalled my old onboard drivers and disable onboard sound on my bios so I don't see what the problem is.

XFi Platinum - RCA Jacks - Arrrgggghh

On the recommendation of my local PC specialist I purchased the XFi Platinum for my music production needs. I currently own an M-Audio card but no Vista drivers are available so I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into something new. However, on getting the new PC home I found that my Fostek monitors have no where to plug into the card. They are powered speakers with standard RCA Jacks. When the Xfi was recommended to me I noticed some RCA Jacks on the front panel and thought all was sweet. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get these monitors working with the XFi or is it a lost cause? I fear I may have to resort to some cheap Logitech things to get me up and going. Please, someone, show me the light......

How come people buy sound cards and NOT read the info/instructions?When I looked at the I/O dri've bay for mt X-Fi Platinum I could see that it said L-Aux IN 2-R and to me that says ?INPUT and not output and anyway, why should anyone expect there to be RCA connectors for connecting speakers to be on the front?.ALL the speakers I have ever owned have always had regular jack plugs.

Intel E6600 + Xfi = bad electrified sound? HELP

Hi, sorry about my english.
I used to have a Pentium4 D930 on my sistem with my Xfi card but when i changed it for a Pentium E6600 the system sounds terribly bad ,like electrified.
I have tested my Xfi in other computers and sounds good. I have tested a sound blaster and mainboard audio device on my system and sounds good too but another Xfi (platinum this other) sounds bad again.
I've returned to mount the old P4 D930 processor and remove the E6600 and now sounds good.
What does it fail? The processor? The mainboard? Am i crazy?
Currently my sistem is:
Creative Xfi Xtreme gamer
Intel P4 E6600
Mainboard Asrock 4Core2-SATA2 AGP+PCX (VIA chipset)

Well I have a gigabyte 965P-DS3 with an E6600 and I don't have any sound. And trust me, I know a bit about computers and whatever I try to do I get no freaking sound.
I get sound (sometimes) at windows strat for 5 to 0 mins then it cuts off, It even sound strange during these few mins. Hmm and I get criticals too.
