Xfi XtremeGamer and 2.1 speakers prob

Hi, the problem is that the XtremeGamer is using?left channel for bass sounds and rigth channel for the treeble sounds and not using the sub-buffer at all so the sound is really poor with music and in games the 3D sound is weaker when coming from the left and that really sucks. The speakers worked fine with my onboard sound card but when I switched to the Xfi it turned out this way. The onboard card is uninstalled now so I think that thats not the problemIf Anyone knows how to fix this I would really?apreciate it. Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english

Ummm... That solution sets your desktop speakers as rear speakers unless I'm remembering wrong... No offense but to me that is not a valid solution. I would just buy a y-splitter for a /8 " Mini connector run both off Line Out #. Then leave it set to 2. so you get the proper sound.

I will try to be as detailed as I can as this problem is driving me crazy. Before I had the Creative soundcard I used the onboard sound with the motherboard and that actually worked.....so you can hopefully understand why this 'upgrade' is frustrating me so much. In a nutshell I cannot get the rear speakers to function in any way with this sound card. The rear speakers ARE working fine....a simple test on the control panel of the speakers outputs audio from all 5 main speakers and the sub. Likewise when watching DVDs with these speakers and the built in amp connected up via a Optical or Co-Axial connection to a DVD player they work perfectly. However despite all my fiddling around with the seemingly endless settings in the Creative Console Launcher....the rear speakers output nothing. Not during the speaker test nor while playing games that rely on surround sound (brothers in arms). I have tried using the Optical output from the front tray and also the regular 3 (green, yellow and black) analogue connections from the rear of the computer (off the card itself). Neither yields any results with the rear speakers. So what the hell do I do? I've updated the drivers but the **bleep** thing just won't work!?The control center is set to 5. speakers. If there is any more information I can provide please ask. At present this is seeming like a very expensi've non-upgrade!?Thanks.

interestingly too if I switch the input on my amp to 'Optical' so that the feed coming from the sound card is using the Optical cable...when I run the THX Speaker test the rear speakers come out of the front speakers. Switching the amp back to 6 channel audio and using the normal 3 coloured cables (excuse my ignorance - no idea what these are called) there is no sound at all when pressing on either of the rear speakers. New SB Live 24 and Inspire 380 Speakers Prob

Hi,
Yesterday I bought the new sound card and the results using my old Altec Lansing speakers was rubbish, total distorsion as if overloading.
So I bought new speakers to match today. The only difference is the rubbish is a lot louder. Lots of bass and almost no treble.
PC is AMD 2400 /2Gig RAM Win XP Pro SP2.
Have done the lengthy uninstall and re-install.
Very, very dissatisfied so far, any help appreciated.

i already posted in the Soundblaster section but id like to post it here too.
My new soundcard the creative xfi extremegamer fatality works properly and gets installed fine, but i have a problem concerning audio output to the speakers.
When i try to check my speakers on their connectivity and positioning....only my front left, rear left, center and subwoofer work fine. My front right and rear right are showing difficulties...i cant get a sound out of them. When testing the speakers the woman voice of the testprogram says...that front right and rear right are in the same position as front left and rear left. The test says these left and right speakers all are on the left....the sound that should come out of the right speakers is coming through the left speakers according to the test.... In testing by playing music this is confirmed...only my left speakers, center and woofer play sounds....i installed as the manuel asked me to do so....i first tried with the cd drivers and afterwards with the updated drivers from the creative website...both gave the same result...no sound from both right speakers.
I tried to anaylyse the problem and therefor installed my previous soundcard again , i.e. a Audigy 2 card. This cards works fine after installing it and their are no probs with the speakers such as with the xfi card....im desperate now! i dont know how to solve this and nobody seems to have an asnwer. I checked configuration hints and guides over and over again on the creative site and i did it all fine, but nevertheless my right front and rear speakers arent working ... help!!

solution found
1/there was physical damage to a large cilinder type hardware component...it did not stood straight anymore...it was bent to the right a little bit..i put it straight again
2/i installed over and over again till last time i used to choose "game modus" as my default mode" i now choose "entertainement modus" as default modus and everything worked fine
i dont know which of the two really solved the problem but these are my conclusions...works as a charm right now! i just love my xfi already! the crystalizer rocks!!!

Differences between XtremeGamer and XtremeGamer Fatal1ty PRO Seri

I was looking at those two XFi cards and I would like to know if there's another difference appart from the X-RAM and the external connector.

The 'plain' XtremeGamer flexijack has an optical spdif out instead of coaxial, it's not compatible with the I/O module and the jacks are not gold plated. Xfi Xtremegamer Sound Out Selectively to

Hello,
I am havin a rather odd issue with my new system and I was hoping someone here would be able to help me or at least point me in the right direction. I just built a computer (Asus P5E-vm do, MSI8800GT 52MB, Xfi Xtremegamer, 4GB Gskill PC2 6400, WD 750GB 7400rpm 3.0 gb/s, Core 2 Duo E8400) with the hopes of using it as a media center. At first I installed Vista, but wiped the dri've and installed XP Pro Sp3 32bit in the hopes that it would solve the issue.
Alright, so here's my problem: when I change my video settings to Dual View or clone (basically whenever the computer outputs video to my TV), there is no sound output to the TV. The sound works fine on the TV when my video settings are set to single display mode for my monitor. I am using an audio out to RCA cable and a DVI to HDMI cable for video.
My card model is SB0730, bought brand new from Amazon.
I've tried doing a complete uninstall of drivers, as one of the guides on this site advised. I've installed the latest video and sound drivers from their respecti've manufacturer's websites. This is all on a completely fresh install of XP Pro SP3. I've also verified that it is not a problem with the TV itself as I have a similar setup on an older computer and the sound works perfect with multiple displays.
Any ideas would be immensely appreciated as I'm at a loss.

!Try other drivers (preferably latest).
It sounds like you are running some kind of an audio filter which makes music sound different.
It could be a codec configured wrong, like you are listening to stereo but it makes it surround (or the opposite).
Or your mixer / preset is not the default.
If changing the mixer doesn't work (if it's already default) maybe try uninstalling your audio/video codecs and see if anything changes.

XFI XtremeGamer SB0770 Connection i

i currently have an XFI XtremeGamer SB0770 and am trying to hook up my winfast tv2000 xp expert tv card to it for audio. Since theres a lack of a manual for download or with the card... the only headers i can see on the card to connect the AUX cable to that runs from the tvcard to the xfi, are the dual headers that are used to hook frontpanel headphone/microphone connections too?are these what your supposed to use? i tried the cable on these pins (the aux connector doesn't make use of them all so bit of trial and error needed)? and got audio from them, but obviously now i can't use the front panel connections..

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
2. Make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. If not, the machine needs to be serviced. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
11. Reset the NVRAM.
12. Reset the SMC.
13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/Preferences/Audio
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.

I would like to use GarageBand to remaster downloaded music files that are in iTunes. Poorly mastered files keep clipping and damaging my speakers. When I try to use an iTunes file as a new project, it greys out the iTunes songs so I can't select them.

As I said - look whether your original file is damaged or not. If not, I wouldn't change it and find out what in your system makes it sound like it's clipping.
Good sound file, with volume maxed out. No need to change anything.
The same song clipped - no chance to repair.

Loss of key clicks and music via speakers after ios5 upgrade

Have lost key clicks and music via speakers after updating to ios5. Sounds are there when headphones are plugged in. Have checked all settings and done hard and soft resets. What to do?

No sound from Front and Rear Center Speakers

Hi all,
I have a Creative 6.1 6700 speaker set + Creative Sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS.
Recently I have noticed that I am not getting any sound from my Front and Rear center speakers. The sound is being diverted to the sub woofer. Wehn i run checks the sound comes from the sub woofer rather then the speaker. I have checked all connection and checked all wiring. All Speaker are working fine and none is dead.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and then application but still no good. I am unable to figure out why this might be happening. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also any idea why does the creative driver keep on crashing. It is one of the most unstable driver that I have seen. I have the latest driver and usually keep it up to date but still it does keeps on giving problems regularly.
I have to say that till now the creative product has been a headache for me but I would have to make do with what I have. So all help needed here really.

I would really appreciate if somebody could reply to my query. Its been very frustating here.
In the meanwhile I have done the following troubleshooting more :
1) Took a head set and connected to all ports at the back of the sound card. Sound is coming from there.
2) Went ahead and removed the creative drive and the application.
3) did a search in the registry with the keyword as "Creative". Removed all entries that were found.
4) Reinstaled the latest drivers and the application.
5) Tried he card ina different PCI slot.
But everything has been to no avail. There is still no sound from the rear and front center speakers. Its really driving me nuts.
It seems as if the souncard is passing the signal to the sub woofer but it is not directing it to both these channels.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Is it possible to have my Bluetooth Speaker and my output speakers working together simultaneously?

I have a Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker and a output speakers. My output consists of 2 Fisher Speakers and a Kenwood Amp that uses RCA to 3.5mm audio output. When I got the SoundLink Mini, I found out that I could no longer use both speakers at the same time. I've tried doing the whole "Audio MIDI Setup" tool, that still does nothing. I'm using a Late 2012 Mac Mini, 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, and a 733GB Fusion Drive setup. Can someone help me please..?
