Xfinity Movers Edge Seamless?? Let's explore

Please be aware that xfinity’s Movers Edge service does not work.  As a result and after sticking with the company since 2002, I will be taking my internet/tv business elsewhere…anywhere else. Where to begin?  First of all, the program sells how easy and seamless it is.  To me, seamless does not include me being without service for 20 days.  20 days!  I work from home.  How am I supposed to accept that?  “Oh, we’re busy.”  Well, I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have enough staff to cover demand.  The way I see it, their view is that new customers are more important than retaining existing customers.  That’s bad for business.   Secondly, this was after xfinity/Comcast tells me they will call me to finish setting-up the transfer for the date requested.  They did not call.  I only move the process forward by calling back several days later.  The new rep is not even able to acknowledge that my move request was a call back.  I’m quickly told that I can self-install that can work for me but later in the call I find out that no, really they have to send out a tech…but no tech is available for 20 days.  So the program is neither seamless nor easy. Oh, it gets worse.  I’m told, let’s just put in the transfer and you can call the local office to see if they may have cancelations.  I don‘t like the idea but agree.  The next day, I call the number given to me and I get a general Comcast message saying the number does not work.  You must be kidding me.  I ask Google to be sure I didn’t transpose the digit.  Sure enough, I dialed the right number and it doesn’t work.  Come on. There are many other internet and TV options out there competing with xfinity/Comcast.  After 15 min of quick research, I decide to cancel my service.  I call to cancel.  Retention says, “We’re busy.  The next available transfer/install date is the same 20 days later than my move date.”  Well, that wraps it up.  My business is not important to them.  It is not hard to find a new partner.  So in a nutshell, xfinity needs to say that the move program works if you give 3-6 months’ notice of a move.  Maybe then they’ll be able to find a tech to assist because you likely won’t be able to self-install anyway.  Oh yeah, for the longtime customers, xfinity appreciates your loyalty, but their loyalty?…draw your own conclusion.  xfinity, you have to do better. 

I did create 100x100px rectangle at 0x0px. Then I exported that to tiff with anti aliasing on (composition, or whatever it's called in English. Unfortunately changing language in Illustrator is not that easy. Anyway not text anti aliasing).
Problem still exists.

So I believe what you suggested is not an issue.

Just to make sure I did export it with text anti aliasing on as well. Effect is the same. I used following export settings:
Color model - RGB
Resolution - 300dpi
Anti aliasing - both as mentioned above
Compression LZA - checked
ICC profile - Adobe RGB (1998)

What's even more interesting, when I accidentally pressed Ctrl+C instead of Prt Scr to make print screen and pasted that to MS Paint, I've got exactly same thing as with export:

    I now have the Starter Triple play for 79.99 until 7/2016 then its $99.99 (but yet I was told the 79.99 was for two years)
    with a fee for Preferred Channels $17.95
    with a fee for HD Technology $9.95
    with a fee for HBO Stars $21.95 (got that free for 6 months with all my calls into get this fixed)
    my blast internet will be $12 next year too
    with boxes and free HBO for 6 months its $138.00 (all prices are before taxes) but after 6 months when the movie channels I HAD with my old package aren't free that $160. And add in the blast going to $12 next year and the package going up $20 thats a huge rate for next year.
    This is not anything close to what I had price wise and I've called in several times and they tell me I can't keep my promo since I moved. BUT I took this promo with my last time I move back in 7/2013 after 5 days of calls some lady named Kamina (not sure of the spelling) FINALLY got into my account and found my promo and got a supervisor to give me what I had. Please tell me you can help me! I was told an email was being sent to review my account and someone would get back to me in 5 days. I cant wait that long. I know someone can give make this happen - all I want is what I had why am I being punished for moving.

  • Movers Edge issues

    I'm having frustrating situation when attempting to move my services.  A few weeks ago I went to the Movers Edge website to transfer my services.  It seemsed pretty easy but after my transaction processed, I got a conformation number but I never recieved a confirmation email AND the transfer never took place.  I tried again on the website with the same results.  I have also called the Movers Edge hotline multiple times but there seems to be technical or systems issues every time I call.  I just want to move my services and change to a new package.  The website was very easy to use but it seems like my transactions never go through.  Is there something I am doing incorrectly?  I would love some help getting this taken care of ASAP.  Thanks

    Did they offer you a visa gift card to transfer service? Then when you ask why it hasn't arrived, they say, "Who? What gift card?" Then when you say you have a screenshot of the offer and the confirmation chat... The phone starts acting funny?
    Yeah, me neither... I'm sure people are just making this up...

  • Publishing no longer works in latest Edge

    Publish seems to not be working in this latest Edge.
    All of our projects published using the latest version get stuck on the preloader. Not sure why but yesterday everything published fine. Today under the new Edge all of our files get stuck in the preload stage. I will add that we're getting many other bugs. Edge is letting us there's errors and needs to quite. Opening a new project shows the project as open but doesn't actually show the project itself. Lots of bugs!

    In the previous version of Edge, we havn't used this directive.
    It has been introduced in this release only.

    So, if the published file works in the strict mode, it's better. But if it doesn't as in this case, you have to manually edit the published proj_edge.js file and remove manually.
    For your question "Is there a way I can remove this in the edge file so that when I publish it actually works?", answer is no, as when you publish Edge creates that file all over again and gives the minified version.

  • How to Document mode to EDGE by default

    Windows 7 x64 SP1 enviroment, IE11 patched via WSUS to all Computers. In F12 developer tools, document mode is not EDGE as default. Our Customer requires to be EDGE on all Computers. This is something I´m not femiliar with and there is no Policy or Preferences
    to set on.
    Any ideas? I´ve looked around, some suggest scripts to change it, some are talking about the new enterprice mode, but I don´t see how it helps.

    In my opinion, enforce Document Mode to Edge by default in IE isn't a good choice. Because not all website are compatible with Edge Mode in Internet Explorer. According to the description from MSDN:
    How Internet Explorer Chooses Between Document Modes:
    By default, Windows Internet Explorer 8 uses IE8 mode, Windows Internet Explorer 9 uses IE9 mode, etc. However, Windows Internet Explorer
    uses several criteria to determine which document mode to use. For example, if an HTML page contains a valid <!DOCTYPE> declaration

    Internet Explorer uses one of the standards-based document modes. But, if there is no valid<!DOCTYPE> declaration, Internet

    How do EDGE charges work/where do I look for itemized billing. I have the GoPhone Pick Your Plan. The AT&T _phone call_ charges are clearly itemized on line at AT&T.
    Can I view the charges for the Media Net Unlimited feature package? I have connected to WiFi at the local coffee shop. I have connected briefly to a local TV weather page while using EDGE. I fear the twenty or thirty dollar charges I have read about if I do any serious use of Safari while using EDGE.

    How exciting ! You have gone way beyond the call of duty for me. I appreciate it; thanks. I am so pleased with the iPhone but did not want to spend my life in coffee shops just to use it. Also I need the map function at work to help my customers and we have no WiFi there yet. But looks like I am ok at work on EDGE.
    Every other day I was oscillating between being extremely pleased with my purchase and then chastising myself for spending all the money on the service that I was sure would be inadequate. I don't call much and considering how fast things are changing I don't want to be locked into a two year contract though I understand Apple is locked into five years exclusively with AT&T.

    unable to view captivate 8 preview>project in internet explorer.  I get 404 web page can't be found.  I haven't built an extensive layout.  I just changed the title text and subtitle text to preview in a browser.  It doesn't want to show any result.  I notice the web address is http://localhost:4932/HTML5Temp5276756792Pre/rindex.html, how do I ensure I'm pulling information from the correct location?  How do I set the parameters to get the file from the proper folder?  I have changed the cache folder location to an external hard drive and I need to know how to let internet explorer recognize where to search for the preview of a project.

    Nothing wrong with the web address. But this is a temporary address which gets generated while previewing.
    After making the changes, did you just hit a Refresh in the browser to preview the updated version? If yes, this won't work as the web address would be different for every preview. Every time you need to preview, you have to initiate it from within Captivate (shortcut for HTML5 preview is F11).

  • Internet explorer 11 not working in app mode

    Hi,
    I have a Lenovo desktop computer with Windows 8.1. IE 11 worked perfectly well in both app and desktop modes but since 2-3 weeks my IE doesn't open in app mode. I think it might be linked to the update following the IE security problem.
    I tried to make the change described in a previous post, namely:
    Click the tools button in IE 11(IE 11 on the desktop), choose Internet
    options, navigate toprograms tab, on the opening
    Internet explorer, choose how you open links:
    Make sure we have always in Internet explorer or Let
    Internet Explorer decide selected.
    BUT in my case the tools/internet option/programs tab doesn't allow me to change this parameter... it's blocked on "always in internet explorer on the desktop" mode....
     it doesn't allow me to select anything else...
    Is there a solution to this ? please advise.

    Sounds like you may have installed another browser which has set itself to be the default?   In order to use MUF IE, IE insists that it be the default browser.

  • Help! CS3 crashing at launch...Font Explorer X installed

    I have gotten myself into a bad situation!
    I am on an Intel Mac Book Pro, running 10.4.11 and CS3. I downloaded Linotype Font Explorer X 1.2.3. I got that going, everything was running pretty smoothly.
    Until I did a little reading, and was lead to believe it was a good idea to have Font Explorer manage everything, system fonts and all. Also to have it clean out font caches, and everything. Mistake. After that, Indesign crashed ... and will not launch at all! As well as Illustrator and Acrobat.
    After all that I read to NEVER let Font Explorer manage or clean anything. I have tried reinstalling CS3 a few times, resetting permissions, etc. I am pretty much freaked out at this point. I don't want to have to clean install the OS.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Words of wisdom? All I wanted was for the fonts to load, and to do my work. And I have so much work to do!

    I have FE manage my System fonts without issues. I have removed all instances of the dfonts, Helvetica, Times, and Zapf Dingbats from my system fonts folder tho, and instead keep at least one version of those fonts active at all times using FE. My guess is a corrupt font cache. Clean it, using FE's tools and see it that helps. Good idea to run the conflict troubleshooter as well.
    Where did you read to never let FE clean or manage anything? Whoever posted that is giving out bad info IMO.

    Okay my EDGE wont let me connect to anything, no mail, no safari, no weather...
    the icon indicates connection, and I'm in my house, where i normally have perfect signal that just decided to stop today.
    I still can use the phone with ATT fine, just edge I guess isnt responding

    I've had the same problem in the Miami market. E appears - no connectivity. Sometimes off/on restores, sometimes reset. Is not a constant problem, but is annoying and time-consuming. I have ample power bars and battery showing when this happens, so it would appear to be an AT&T issue. Sporadic.

    I've installed Business Objects Edge 3.1 + BOBJ EXPLORER XI 3.1 SP1 + SAP IK 3.1. I do see SAP Authentication type on CMC and Infoview, but not on polestar. I am wondering if I missed something during my install or is it something not supported on Polestar?
    Other applications installed on the same box are:
    Crystal Reports + Xcelsius + Live Office 3.1

    I think you have to "Enable SAP authentication" for the SAP BOBJ Explorer, if it is not already done.
    SAP authentication is not avialable by default into the SAP BOBJ Explorer.
    To do this:
    a- Backup the file "default.settings.properties".
    This file is located into the folder "$BOBJDIR/tomcat/webapps/polestar/WEB-INF/classes/".
    b- Edit "default.settings.properties".
    Replace :
    show.sapsystem.name=false
    disable.sapsystem.name=true
    default.sapclient.name=
    show.sapclient.name=false
    disable.sapclient.name=true
    default.authentication.method=secEnterprise
    authentications=secEnterprise,secWinAD,secLDAP
    by:
    show.sapsystem.name=true
    disable.sapsystem.name=false
    default.sapclient.name=
    show.sapclient.name=true
    disable.sapclient.name=false
    default.authentication.method=secEnterprise
    authentications=secEnterprise,secWinAD,secLDAP,secSAPR3

    Hello i have iphone that i bought in the netherlands
    and my provider give me 15 free edge(vodafoon live it is called here) sessions per moth
    1h per sessie
    now the problem is you have to stay online for 1h or you lose that session lets say i go to safari stay on it for 5min to go back to summerboard
    and 1min later i go back to safari that first session is closed and they start a new 1
    so now is my q
    who can i stay connected to edge for lets say 45min -1h so even if i close safari
    i am still
    so i can make thet most of that 1h and im not alway lose a free session
    after those 15 it is 0,5€ per session
    PLZ help me out

    In the U.S. when not connected to a Wi-Fi network, EDGE is on automatically and remains on as long as there is cell phone reception and it remains available in the background even when connected via Wi-Fi since visual voicemail messages are downloaded to the iPhone via the cellular's data network only.
    The iPhone includes no setting to remain connected to a provider's EDGE network. Apparently you are using an iPhone that has been hacked to be used with any provider and in a way it was not designed for.
