XFWM Drag Panel to Un-Maximize Titleless Window

I'm using xfwm-titleless+ with xfce4-windowck-plugin. Everything works great and I now have the title of my windows displayed in my top panel, along with the buttons to close, minimize, and maximize.
My problem is, I've had this setup on gnome-shell and I was able to click the gnome shell and drag downwards and it would be as if i was clicking the window's titlebar.
Is there a way to do this with xfce?

I'm not sure this is what you're asking but you can hold Alt key and move window around with mouse holding left button. It will also restore orginal size of window before maximizing. You can resize window with Alt + Right mouse button.

[SOLVED] Drag to edge to maximize: new stupid feature in KWin

There's a new feature in KWin (KDE 4.4) where dragging a window to the edge of the screen maximizes the window. I keep activating it by accident and it's really annoying. I can't find an option to disable it. Anyone know how I can disable it?

System settings -> Desktop -> Screen corners and now deactivate:
* Maximize windows by dragging them to the top of the screen
* Tile windows by dragging them to the side of the screen

1) The list of components in the Beta release is incomplete. We will be adding more components as development continues.
2) I don't know what you are asking about with CS4. Other than the HUD, the panels in the Beta release are not draggable.
3) Correct. The z property is not editable through the Catalyst Beta UI. If you want to change the order in which components are stacked, you can drag them around in the Layers panel, but this isn't modifying the z property. If you want to modify the z property itself, you will need to edit the code in Builder after you are finished with the design in Catalyst.
4) You can turn the HUD on and off through the Window=>HUD menu item (F7 is the shortcut key).
5) As far as I know, the Beta is only available in English.
6) I'm not sure what you mean here. If you are trying to edit the generated code, you are going to have to use Builder for that. The Code view in Catalyst is read-only.

Displaying the title of the open panel when attached to a window...?

This is probably a really obvious question... but when displaying the open panel as a panel/sheet attached to another window - is there a way to display the panel's title, or some other way to prompt the user?
For example, I have a preferences window that the user can click a variety of controls, several of which display the open panel... I'd like some way to remind the user which path to select (eg. "Select the path for BLAH").
One way around it is to temporarily set the title of the window the open panel is attaching to, but I have several windows, and the panel may attach to any one of them... I'd rather not test for each possibility (because, for example, the nib for that window might not be loaded yet, etc.).
Any ideas?

The answer is obvious... after all, I need to know which window to attach the panel to.

Downloads dragged and dropped from Firefox download window into Outlook e-mail show as file location text.

I have a user who normally can drag files from Firefox's Download window into an e-mail in Outlook and it creates an attachment of that file in the e-mail. However, lately, the dragged .pdf or whatever file only shows up as a text file location like:
\\file:%Downloads%\randomfile.pdf
It's not a link either, it's just the text.
I've tried doing a repair of Outlook.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 19.
I've tested dragging items from the desktop to the e-mail and it works fine.
I can't drag and drop from the Downloads window to the desktop.
I just wanted to add this user is using Windows XP Pro.

I can confirm that this is an issue with the newest release of Firefox. I just upgraded my Firefox, which was previously 18.02 to 19.0 and now I'm getting the same error. It's a bug.

Tab does not show when dragged into it's own new window

This happened after I updated to Firefox 8.0.1. Same problem with 9.0.1. I'm on a Mac running OS X 10.5.8. I have not changed any add-ons, plugins, extensions, or anything like that.
Every time a tab is dragged from my main window to form it's own new window, the tab button on the new window does not appear. I only have a + sign showing.
A tab will show when I open a new tab, but the original "tab" does not appear. The + sign also appears on the left side of all new tabs. Isn't it supposed to be on the right?
If I have 2 "tabs" open but only have 1 tab showing and try to close the window, Firefox asks me if I'm sure I want to close the 2 tabs.
Tabs when opening blank new windows work properly. Dragging a tab to an already opened window works fine as well.
Most of the time a tab is dragged out on accident, and it is quite annoying because I can't drag it back into the main window.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I found the cause but no solution, it's actually a plugin that does that: divx plus weblpayer (it gets installed when you install DivX on your system), if you disable it and restart firefox it all works again. But I want that plugin... so DivX need to fix this, unless it is a Firefox bug in its own core... anyway these two together creates the problem.
(I'm running Firefox 9.x on OSX Lion)
I also wish firefox tab tear out tab worked more like chrome's tab tear out, much friendlier...

Print panel on hp deskjet in windows 7 64-bit

My customers had problems with print.panel to printer method in windows 7 64-bit so I made a simple standalone application which prints a VI panel to default printer (zipped project is attached). I'm using Developer Suite with Labview 12.0f3 (32 bit) on Windows XP. The application has been deployed to computers running windows 7 (64 bit) and windows XP (32 bit) and tested with different printers: local and network. There is a list of printers where the application does not print the panel on windows 7 (64 bit): HP DeskJet D4360, HP DeskJet 5550, HP DeskJet 5652, HP Photosmart C3180 and PDF Complete (an application which converts document to PDF). The application does not report any error, everything seems normal. The document is sent to the printer, usually printer heads start to move for a moment, in one case the paper is taken from the drawer and that's all. There's no need to say that all this printers work normally with Winword, Notepad, Excel, ...
My application prints a VI panel in Windows 7 (64 bit) without any problems if I use: Canon IR2200, Toshiba e-STUDIO 2500c, Samsung ML-2240, HP LaserJet 5L, HP LaserJet P2050, PDFcreator, ....
ALL printers, including HP DeskJet models, work normally in Windows XP (32 bit).
According to the post here the printer margins in my application are set to a value of 3 cm because it might solve the problem but it does not help.
Any other suggestion?

I'm glad that it has worked for you, I hope your clients will have the same success. As I've found, incompatible printers on Windows 7 64bit is a known issue, and will hopefully be fixed in a later version of LabVIEW. I'll be sure to include your input (which printers worked and which did not) on the case.
Also, it seems to me that both the Invoke Node and the Library Call use the same function to accomplish printing; however, the Node sets the "show print dialog" input automatically to false, hence the lack of printing options (this makes sense from a programming perspective, since if we want to print programmatically, additional user input at every print job is most likely unwanted). Please get back to me when your customer has results, if something is still not functioning, we might explore some other workarounds.

How to maximize a window in Yosemite

Hi. Today I found out that when you click the maximize button in Yosemite, instead of maximize the window to a predetermined space, the window goes full screen. Is there a way to set it back to the previous behaviour? I'm working with two monitors and it's impossible to work this way.
If is not possible to configure this button, can I downgrade to Mavericks? Because it's IMPOSSIBLE to work this way.

Ah, okay, never used that one. Have you checked your *Key Commands* that this shortcut actually still is assigned? Even if it is, it might just help to reassign it (to the same keycombo).

Mm, I did a search of Logic key commands, but I cannot find any command that closes floating windows, alt-W is not a default shortcut for anything... to what command exactly did you assign alt-W?

You may try the list (or go straight to 6) if you have updated to Yosemite without reinstalling).
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

How to maximize a window and can't be able to move it

Hi everyone,
I'm doing an HMI and what I want to do is to maximize a window. I can do it in the VI proprieties -> Window Run-Time Position -> Position: Maximized. The problem I get is when I run it, the user can move the window with the title bar.
I don't want to move the window. The window has to stay at the same place.
Is there a way to do this (without taking off the title bar)?

But it doesn't really help me much....
I want to maximize the window (so in the Window Runtime position, I put "Maximize"). I want a title bar to show the name of the VI (I check the "Window has title bar" in the Window Appareance). I don't want to be able to resize the window (I uncheck the "Allow to resize window" in the Window appareance). When I do the last thing, the window can move and it's exactly want I don't want to do. If I uncheck this option, the user can click on the square and be able to resize and move the window.
Maybe there's an option somewhere in the proprieties that can disable moving the window? Why the window can move if I maximised the window and I can be able to resize the window? When it's a real maximize, the window can't move.
Except with the Toolbox (well, I can't use it anyway, because I have version 8.2), is there any other way to do this?
I'd like to have answers please (event if it's no )

How do I maximize the window on startup?

I have a when-new-form-instance trigger that calls set_window_property('WINDOW1',WINDOW_STATE,MAXIMIZE) but it does not maximize my window. I am running my form in a separate window . I am running forms10.1.2.0.2 with Oracle express 10g. My formsweb.cfg looks like this:

Also, the above works except splashScreen=NO. I am still getting "ORACLE FORMS." on the screen before my form is displayed. Before I set splashScreen to NO, I was getting the Oracle Forms startup splashscreen. So it looks like it took one splashScreen away and gave me a default. I tried configuring so that my own splashScreen (gif file) would be called, but that didn't work either. I must've done something wrong. How do I configure to use my own gif file as a splashScreen? Another question I have relating to running forms with the above configuration: Whenever I close the form, I need to also close the browser. How can I programmatically close the browser window too?

The I figured out to use BACKGROUND parameter to get the gif file to display, but it's coming out as a black square. Is it a problem with my gif file? (I can open it in other tools & it looks OK)
