Xgl crashes after 10 minutes
I have succesfully compiled and run xgl using arch, xorg7 and ati-drivers-arch. Everything works great for about 10 minutes and then the system crashes and I can then only reboot to get it back.
Using normal xorg7 without xgl the system is very stable.
Is this normal? Is there anyway of logging what is going on when it crashes?
superman: I get a similar problem with the newest fglrx and xorg 7; if I've been running my xserver too long, when I try to exit or run a full-screen GL app (glxgears still works) then the system hardlocks.
Haven't found a solution yet... but having a GL-accelerated desktop sounds like a "full-screen GL app" to me, so maybe we're having the same problem?

i have windows 7 and after the upgrade to itunes 11 misic, videos, tv programmes keep crashing after 15 minutes???
help would be very much appreciatedThe problems are caused by third party input managers/enhancers that have not yet been updated by their developers to comply with the standards used by Safari 4.1.and/or Safari 5.
In your case these are:
0x1158d0000 - 0x1158d2fff +com.MTWB.SafariAddon.osax ??? You fill find them in one or either of these folders:
Home/Library/Input Managers
Hard Disk/library/Input Managers
Hard Disk/Library/Application Support
although the exact location is indicated in your crash report as quoted above - look under 'Binary Images'.
Close Safari and delete them, then restart Safari and it should be working normally. Alternatively drag them to the desktop and restart Safari. then add them back one at a time, restarting Safari every time, until you find the one (or more) causing the crash.
Check with the developers of the plug-ins in question for updates that are Safari 5 compliant. -
Hello. For the past 2 days my imac (running 10.7.5) is consitently crashing with a panic attack after roughly 15 minutes of booting up. I have done Disk Utility several times, i have even used time machine and back up to a day prior to the problem beginning. I can boot in safe mode with no problems yet when i go back to normal boot i crash after 15 minutes. i need help further diagnosing the problem.
The only new things i have done recently is:
1. Begun using Time Machine 3 days prior to the problem.
2. updated itunes and received an error for an extension at the end of the install.
Here is my most recent Panic attach log:

iMac - 27 ", late 2012
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
Software OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
After I updated from CS6 to CC 2014, my screen started to display blue lines and/or a blue imprint of a previously closed window, and Premiere CC 2014 and AE CC 2014 began crashing after about five minutes of use. Also, an error message popped up telling me to update my CUDA driver. I took the iMac into Apple and after updating the CUDA driver in store with an Apple associate, the error message went away. They were concerned about the blue lines, and after 3 days of hardware testing, they determined that the screen was not failing, the hardware was in great shape and the lines and crashing must be a software related issue. I took the computer home, uninstalled and reinstalled AE using the appropriate installer, and rebooted. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere using the Premiere installer and rebooted again. During the second restart a blue imprint of the Google Chrome window I had had open before the reboot was imprinted over the welcome/password screen. I typed in my password, opened up the Premiere project I'd been working on and immediately, the always dramatic message "A serious issue as occurred..." popped up. I tried opening it again, saved a new recovery copy and started to work on the project. Five minute later it froze up and I had to force quit. This happened two more times, both roughly after five minutes of use....back to square one.
Obviously, this is seriously hurting my workflow. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated!... a blue imprint of the Google Chrome window I had had open before the reboot was imprinted over the welcome/password screen.
The apple guys said this wasn't a hardware error? I don't know software errors to save imprints throughout a restart. If I were to live dangerously and assume anything it would be that you got a failing graphics processor.
Ever tried cloning your boot drive and then doing a complete wipe and re-install of OS and CC? -
Edge Animate CC 2014.1 keeps crashing after 10 minutes of working
Edge Animate CC 2014.1 keeps crashing after about 10 minutes of working. I have to be very careful when importing layers, or anything I do, pretty much. It's like walking on thin ice every time I work on it. I'm working on something with a deadline and it is hindering my progress greatly.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Lunaaibun So... it just happened again. This time, I was just moving an image position. Apparently the heavy black shadow around the alert box means Edge Animate keeps generating alert boxes infinitely (screenshot below).
It's really strange. My MacBook is brand new so I couldn't think of any internal causes.
Thanks in advance,
Luna -
ITunes crashes after one minute, exactly.

So, my thinking is bad iTunes database? Is there some strangly named song perhaps? But the rub is that it's always occuring exactly one minute after I've launched iTunes. How could that even be? It only occurs on my iTunes, when I log in as another user, no such problem.Any audio enhancement software on that Mac (e.g. Boom or Hear)? Or custom visualizers for iTunes?

Yosemite won't install, always crash after two minutes of installation.
My hard drive only got two months, and Mavericks always work fine. I got a Macbook Pro I7 with 8gb ram and 1gb of hard drive. Yosemite installation always crash after one or two minutes. And said scripts cannot save in the .OSInstallSandboxPathfolder, 'because there's a file with the same name.
Any ideas?Hello rialebR,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post it looks like perhaps the installer file did not download properly. I'd like you to please delete the current installer from your launchpad, and then download the installer again from the Mac App Store.
Enter Launchpad.
Click and hold on an icon until you see all icons jiggle.
Click the "x" button in the upper-left of the Mac App Store app icon you want to delete.
Note: If you do not see an "x" button, either the app is not from the Mac App Store or you are logged in as a standard user.
Click "Delete" in the confirmation dialog to delete the app.
OS X Lion: How to remove Mac App Store apps that appear in Launchpad
Mac App Store
Open Mac App Store.
Click Purchases at the top of the window. Your purchased apps will appear.
Click Install or Download.
Download past purchases
Take care,

Premiere CC always crashes after few minutes?
Premiere CC always crashes after a few minutes. I reinstalled it, but the problem is the same. What can I do? What may be the reason for it? Thanks for your help.
(Coming from Germany)Gutentag!
Thanks for visiting the forum and sorry for your troubles. This problem is usually due to unsupported video drivers for your video card (GPU). Also, certain computers have more than one GPU, so you have to make sure those are also updated.
My advice is if you are running an NVIDIA card, update to the latest drivers.
If you also have an Intel HD Graphics GPU installed in your computer, you need to update those drivers, as well.
Here is a link to the downloads for the Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22605
Here is a link to the downloads for other Intel HD Graphics drivers: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/graphics
After updating video drivers, please restart the computer and test Premiere Pro for stability.
Please let us know what happens after updating your drivers.
Thanks,
Kevin -

Ichat slowly crashes after two minutes or so with one user only
I've been using ichat for years with my parents and brother, My brother has an older imac and we can chat just fine. Recently ichat has not been working with my parents mini mac, although it used to quite well. Chat starts off fine and slowly deteriorates, after two minutes or so the video and audio become so bad it's not worth continuing. We both have the same versions of OS 10 and ichat and I am at a loss to explain the trouble. If we watch the connection doctor as we chat, my signal slowly drops till it can't carry the load. When I call my brother, no loss of signal. I am using airport but when I connect the cable directly there is no change, signal strength still falls off. As far as we know, no hardware or software changes have been made to either system. I recently upgraded my internet connection speed to try and beat the problem but it didn't resolve the issue. We did learn that if we both make our video windows as small as possible, we can talk on the deteriorated signal. Any ideas?
Hi
First have you and your parents set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps
In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to 500
Restart iChat.

Network crashes after several minutes
Hi folks,
I was using LFS for some time and now switched back to arch because of the anoying updates.
I was using the exact same hardware about one to two years before with Arch and there wasn't any problem, so I guess the bug is in the software (or the end user ).
I'm using the ndiswrapper + dhcpcd / dhclient (problem is the same on both), all from the arch repo.
After a few minutes being online (this problem occurs more quick if I do several online tasks at once, like torrent + jabber + surfing, or even loading several webpages at once) my network crashes completely.
With crashing I mean: I can't even kill dhcpd nor unload the ndiswrapper module, if I try the process is loading about a few minutes and then completely freezes (I can't kill the kill proccess, funny somehow). I also checked every log but I just can't find anything in them (nor can I find a special dhcpd / dhclient / ndiswrapper / networks in general log).
I hope one of you guys can help me because I don't want to switch back to LFS.I tried different solutions till compiling both: an older kernel and an older ndiswrapper version, but none of them made any difference.
I guess I'll have to switch back to LFS for now which isn't a huge problem.
I just hate to remember and update all packages myself .
But thanks anyway, I'll switch back to arch in a few month and try it again. -
MSI GT60 0NE-404US all games crash after 10 minutes of play?
Hi I've just recently purchased a MSI GT60 0NE-404US with gtx680m 4g video card, i7 3630m CPU and 12g of ram. I took it home and ran a few games on it, all of them after basically 10 minutes the game will crash and something along the lines of "the graphic driver has crashed and restarted". I've tried updating my video driver to the latest and rerolled to older drivers, none of that worked. I've used hardware monitor and tried to see the GPU temperature, they seem to be running at 50-60 degrees celsius if I turn the turbo fan on. I've tried running some benchmarking software to test out the stability of the 3d graphics but the same problem occurs. it looks like it's a drivers problem but I've tried all types of drivers and none of them worked.
Does anybody have any similar issues? This is a brandnew laptop and things like this shouldn't happen.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!Quote from: helohelo on 13-February-14, 13:36:30

Nichrome gives some good advice. I'd follow his steps first but...
I kinda get the feeling that your video card is not any good and it's what is causing the issues. The fact that you've tried a few different driver revisions and it's crashing doing anything stressful seems to indicate that as well.
Most likely you'll need to contact MSI to do an RMA in the end.
