Xgridcontrollerd[1503]: Warning: status socket failure

We had a power outage and since then I've been seeing the following error message in the system.log and it seems like xgrid has hung while working on 4 jobs, they've showed about 50% complete in xgrid admin for a few hours. There is nothing in the logs that I can see. Though I do get status socket failures every couple of hours
educaster xgridcontrollerd[1503]: Warning: status socket failure; will attempt to re-create status socket
Everything seems to be working (i.e. the podcast producer is accepting and creating podcasts) but this error message pops up in the logs every couple of hours.
any ideas?

I decided to use nouveau instead of nvidia and now I got my external an internal display working.

    Does anyone have any idea why? or is there anyway I can produce Pivot report with xls output?

    HI ,
    i am also facing the same problem but i have one solution for this .... that opp err
    comes in 3 cases ....
    data output will be very large
    unable to insert data in template---->template design is wrong.....(in caseif xml is generated for that).
    the third case is that the data defination file is perfectly fine but when it have to insert data in template its not getting the path where the template is put.
    its all due to xml environment settings.
    Tell your DBA to verify the issue...send him the log and opp log.
    I expect that you will get what exactly the issues is.

  • Could RDF report end with warning status conditionally?

    Could I make the Oracle report concurrent program complete with warning status based on a condition?
    I know it is possible with PL/SQL concurrent requests, but with Oracle Reports how could I end the report with a status as warning indicating users to look into the log file.
    Thank you,
    Vinodh

    Hi DC,
    Thank you for quick feedback. But the report is not completing with warning status (still it completes as Normal). I want the concurrent program to end with warning status. So, by looking at the end status of the concurrent program the user would check the log by clicking the view log button.

  • Edit subject for "Delivery Status Notification Failure"-messages

    We have an Ironport c160 and I wonder if it is possible to edit the subject for the the automatic reply email instead of Delivery Status Notification Failure? We have a content management system (CMS) and I would like to have the ticket number in the subject, just the way it does when the reply is from our internal Exchange server. For example Undeliverble message case #1234-1234567 instead of Delivery Status Notification Failure.

    Sounds like someone is spoofing spam from your e-mail address. They do not need to have access to your account. Spammers nearly always put a fake address on the To line, and sometimes they pick an address from their databases as that "fake." So they're putting your address on a fake To line in their e-mails and you're getting the bounces.
    It could be possible that they have hacked your e-mail account, and to protect against that possibility you should change the password on that account. However, this is probably not what has happened.
    Note that this has absolutely nothing to do with your Mac, and there are no viruses for the Mac and only a handful of very rare trojans. See my [Mac Virus guide|http://www.reedcorner.net/thomas/guides/macvirus> for more details.

    **1- Is there any way to make these XML reports work with Veritas HA, using Virtual hostname**
    **2- Can we identify or pin point from where the Out Put Postprocessor is setting the Physical Hostname.**
    Regards
    Ali Ammar

    Hi,
    The metalink note Output Post Processor Fails Due to java.sql.SQLException: Exhausted Resultset [ID 740529.1], is not related to us, we have already verified that. In our case the Application is running on Virtual Hostname and this virtual hostname is taken care by Veritas Library, ACC.
    Secondly the FND_NODES also shows the Virtual hostname as the application is configured on Virtual Hostname. So in our case its not seems to be comming from the FND_NODES tables, rather it seems that some of the Java files/class is picking it by the OS command uname -a.
    So if we can find that class or environment file of java, we can export the Virtual Hostname as we used it in configuration. Please note that the Concurrent Manager and Application listener are also working fine on the Virtual Hostname, by using the Veritas library.
    Solaris:
    LD_PRELOAD_32=/usr/lib/secure/libvuname.so
    VHOSTNAME=<virtual hostname>
    Please suggest.
    Best Regards
    Ali Ammar.

  • Server Overloaded and Warning Status

    I have a WebLogic cluster, includes 3 Managed Server running on 2 separate machines (Each has 16Gb Ram and 8 CPU - Sun Sparc). Each start with parameters
    Starting WLS with line:
    /usr/jdk/instances/jdk1.6.0/bin/java -server -Xms1024m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m
    Some time ManagedServers have status "OverLoaded" and "Warning". When that happened , I stop and start server and server status return to OK.
    Checking the status with "prstat" command, I saw that java process used just from 1Gb Ram to 2Gb Ram and CPU is under 3%, very little CPU used
    What I have to do to make server return to OK status without restart?
    And how to make server running with OK status everytime?
    And How many Managed Server can I create on each machine with that hardware?
    Thank you!

    What I have to do to make server return to OK status without restart?Maybe stop some or all applications can be usefull.
    And how to make server running with OK status everytime?You must tuning the enviroment, maybe should adjust JVM parameters passed to weblogic server, check thread pools, etc. For Sun HotSpot JVM, you can use -XX:+AggressiveHeap option for throughput applications, give it a try.
    See [WebLogic Server Performance And Tuning|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs92/perform/index.html]
    And How many Managed Server can I create on each machine with that hardware?This decision depends on applications you want run, weblogic resources required, how many clients will be attended, and so on. If your weblogic server using 8GB achieves the goal, then you can setup another instance using the remaining available, and so on.
    I hope this helps.

  • Returning Yellow Warning Status to Concurrent Manager

    Hi,
    I'm using Oracle Concurrent Manager on a 8.17 database to kick off a PL/SQL package.
    In my exception section, every time a user defined error occurs, I write out the error to the log. Its in a loop, so it continues processing even if these errors occur. Everything works fine, and it catches the errors correctly.
    My question is this - How can I make the status of the concurrent request show a YELLOW WARNING instead of the green completed? I assume I would have to put a line into my PL/SQL package, but not exactly sure which Oracle-supplied package handles this.
    Any ideas? Just to re-iterate, I'm not using Forms, so I think this would be the correct forum to ask this.

    Pass back a positive retcode:CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE p (
        errbuf  OUT VARCHAR2
    ,   retcode OUT VARCHAR2
    IS
    BEGIN
        retcode := 1;
    END p;The above returns a phase of Completed and a status of Warning (yellow) to Concurrent Manager.
    A retcode of 0 gives Normal status; negative retcodes are Errors (red).

  • How do I get a warning for battery failure

    My Macbook pro is only a week old, and it has already faded to dead without a warning.  My last mac used to tell me when I was at 10 or 15 % battery to find another power source.  Do I have to set this to give such a warning, and if so, how do I do that?

    Return it for a replacement or replacement battery.

  • ReadUTF causing socket failure

    Hi
    I am having a problem where occasionally readUTF is not getting the data sent from the client side of the socket, plus the socket is then not able to read any more data (no exceptions thrown).
    I have caught some data from a situation where it has happened. It doesn't look like there's anything wrong with the data. Could anyone advise me on this? Is there a different way I should be approaching this?
    Client side code:

        System.out.println("DEBUG: writeUTF: " + cmdString);
        o.writeInt(cmd);
        o.writeUTF(cmdString);
        o.flush();
        System.out.println("DEBUG: sent");
    catch(IOException ex) {
        // processing IOException
    catch(Exception ex) {
        // processing Exception
    }Server side code:
    try {
        while(running) {
            this.yield();
            int cmd = i.readInt();
            System.out.println("DEBUG: cmd: " + cmd);
            String cmdString = i.readUTF();
            System.out.println("DEBUG: cmdString: " + cmdString);

    The point being that there is not much difference between the first set of data that is sent and the second. But the second String value never gets from writeUTF to readUTF. And no exceptions are thrown.
    Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

    If you wanted to, you could use writeLong() on the datainputstream to send the number of bytes you are using in your byte array in writeBytes(). Then on the dataoutputstream you could use readFully() with a byte array of the size specified by readLong().
    Just a thought.
