Xhtml - Portal Needs To Support This Standard
XHMLT is an important advancement to the HTML standard, it enables the client browser to render the output much easier and quicker than non XHTML.
I want to know why the Portal does NOT generate XHTML pages.
Thanks for your reply John,
I wonder will this feature be made available in the 5.0.3 release or a future release, the reason I ask is because we experience poor client performance because of the non xhtml output.
I understant that the HTML generation (portal) engine must be pretty complex, however I would say the output is OK, it's not good. If I run the output for the standard login page through the w3c html validator (http://validator.w3.org/) Iget over 20 errors with the HTML. I have also seen plumtree portlets that output complete HTML pages, inluding HTML,HEAD, and BODY tags, this really upsets the browser.
I would like to see the XHML standard implemented because we could then parse the page in a DOM parser and instrument the page as a whole. Currently this is not possible due to the poor ouput from the portal engine.

I want to use my Mac desktop as a portal for viewing my cable television via some kind of cord. Is this possible and what do I need to set this up?
It can be done with analog but not digital thanks to "good 'ol" HDCP copy protection which apple (and most other manufacturers) unfortunately respect.
So you can take the analog output from your cable box (component -- 5 cables -- if it has it but generally they all have composite -- 3 cables) and feed it into some kind of converter or into some appropriate pci card for your mac pro. But none of them are going to let you directly use the HDMI output from the box to your computer.
Bottom line, no single cord is going to work and it will never be the higher quality digital picture you get on your tv.
Some qualification: There are boxes that I think support hdmi input. Look at Blackmagic. But I still don't think you can get around the HDCP from the cable box (might depend on the kind of cable box). -

can anyone tell me why?it just say : Your Purchase Could not be completed
Purchase Failed : Your Itunes version does not support this purchase, it was not installed correctly. or you're not sign into a itunes account.
why?
or i need to update latest IOS?Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining. -
I'm having trouble with My adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard programs opening. They will bounce to open but won't open up and eventually I will need to force quit as they aren't responding. I'm thinking it may be a font issue but need some support ASAP!

I have a Canon RebelXS digital camera. Do I need to install the specific Canon Software to my IMAC to upload my photos or will IMAC software support this upload?
I think you'll find that iPhoto will recognize your Rebel and load it's pictures (does for my RebelXT). If you don't want to use iPhoto, then yes, you'll need to download the software that came on a disk with the camera, and possibly update it (from the Canon site) based on the operating system you're running.

I have airport extreme and just purchased a D-Link DCS-932L home network camera. D-Link says I need UpNp but the extreme doesn't support this. Can I use port mapping? if so anyone know how to set that up? thanks
Since the D-Link DCS-932L is accessible on the local network via a web browser, you should be able to access this camera from the Internet if your router has a publically accessible Public IP address. If your ISP provides you with a dynamic Public IP address, you may want to use a DDNS service to make it easier for you to locate your camera whenever your ISP changes your IP address.
Start the AirPort Utility > Select the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn).
Select Manual Setup.
Verify that Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address is selected on the Internet > Internet Connection tab.
Select Advanced, and then, select the Port Mapping tab.
Click the plus sign to add a new port mapping.
For Service, leave the default; this will change to "Custom" once you start entering port values.
In the Public UDP Port(s) and Public TCP Port(s) boxes, type in a 4-digit port number (e.g., 8888) that you choose. In the Private IP Address box, type the internal IP address of your camera. In the Private UDP Port(s) and Private TCP Port(s) boxes, enter the appropriate port values that should have been provided to you by the camera manufacturer. Click Continue.
In the Description box, type a descriptive name like "Internet Camera Access," and then, click Done.
Click on Update.
To connect to the shared Camera from a remote location using a Mac or PC:
Start your favorite web browser.
Enter either your Public IP address or DDNS-provided Domain Name, followed by a colon and the Public port number that you choose in step 7 of the previous procedure. For example: http://123.123.123.123:8888 or http://www.mydtdnsdomainname.com:8888 -

I bought my macbook pro in march 2007. I am currently running osx 10.6.8, but want to upgrade to lion or mtn lion. Apple website says i need a mid 2007 or later macbook pro, how do I tell if my Macbook pro will support this upgrade?
The Mid-2007 model didn't come out until June 2007, so you must have bought an earlier model. It won't run Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.x), but it might run Lion (10.7.x) if you can get hold of a copy, depending on which earlier model it is.
Lion requires at least a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The first MacBook Pros came out in January 2006, but they had "Core Duo" processors (no "2"). The Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros came out in October 2006. You could have bought either in March 2007. -
Pls i need your support regarding to this
You need to contact Apple. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.

[oracle@aris_sv_db log]$To see which ODBC function DG4ODBC is looking for and unixODBC isn't supporting it would be best to get an ODBC trace file. But as your unixODBC driver (unixODBC-2.2.11-10.el5) is outdated and these old drivers had a lot of issues when being used on 64bit operating systems (for example wrong sizeofint etc). So best would be to update the unixODBC Driver manager to release 2.3.x. More details can be found on the web site: www.unicodbc.org

How to use the Portal Connection Service in a standard J2EE application
Hi,
We want to use portal connection service to connection backgend system from a standard j2ee application.
But the connection need a connectionProperties object which is created in this way:
ConnectionProperties connectionProperties =
new ConnectionProperties(
request.getLocale(),
request.getUser());
Because the "request" object is IPortalComponentRequest object, which is a portal object. In our standard application, we can use this way.
So how?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Xiaoming YangDoes anybody has any idea? Many thanks and points will definitely be awarded.
Best Regards,

RTL and ligature support in standard controls
Creating a quick test, I was unable to determine how to use
the new features like RTL language support and advanced ligatures
in standard controls, like buttons etc.
Does somebody know if and how this is supported?I'm also interested in whether the TLF can be used in
standard controls. Based on your suggestion to the OP, I checked
out the Gumbo forum and found it contains but two posts (including
the welcome) and nothing relevant about BIDI support for standard
controls.
We currently have an opportunity which requires BIDI support
in our main app suite (currently Flex 3, FlashPlayer 9). I already
know that it is possible to use TLF in the current SDK provided we
upgrade to supporting FP 10, and I have seen many wonderful
examples of text fields that do just that.
The problem is, I really need to know whether it is possible
to use TLF in standard controls (Button, Label, List, etc.)
right now, and what level of development that would take. If
it is possible, would it involve an entire overhaul of our code to
create new renderers for every control? Is that what it will take
in Gumbo as well?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -
I need some support to complete scenario which i explained below.
Hi,
I need some support to complete scenario which i explained below.
My requirement is that when i webdynpr application is runnig i pass one requisition no in url . This requisition no is use as input in one bapi ( Bapi_requisiition_getdetail) and result of that bapi will display in one pdf form. This pdf form will be stored at localy . I will able to change any of that fields and then upload it and my r/3 will be updated.
So can any one suggest me how this thing is possible.
Regards,
Gurprit BhatiaHi,
There is 2 way for your requirement .
First way :
What you need is to develop a specific bapi with input parameter the PR number and with outpur parameter an XSTRING field.
In your bapi call the standard BAPI Bapi_requisiition_getdetail then generated the adobe form and transform the result into an XSTRING field.
Afterwards in your WD you use the xstrign field ..
Second Way ( and the best way )
IN you WD application add an UI Element for an Adobe Forms , define the adobe forms required . The adobe forms needs only the PR number .
In the interface linked to the Forms, add code on Initialization part to retrieve all value of the PR required for the form while calling the BAPI Bapi_requisiition_getdetail .
With this solution , you will got the forms whitout a lot of code .
Hope this help you
Best regards -

I hate this bold 9700 series 2 no carrier and find it to be a pathetic product backed up by even more pathetic support so I have decided to use it as a torch. There is an app for this but it requires app world first. Are you trying to say that I MUST have a carrier and they will resolve this issue but otherwise RIM cannot do anything about their own product?
Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
We are so sorry that you are having so many difficulties. While many experience the same (a search here will reveal that fact), there are also many who have very positive experiences with their BB. Not every device is suitable for everyone -- which IMHO is why there are so many choices.
In addition, but for AppWorld, front line support for BB's is, by contract, not provided by RIM. The carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front line formal support to end users. It is possible to bypass your carrier and seek assistance direct from RIM, but such involves fees since you are bypassing your support agreement with your carrier. The "Support and Services" tab toward the top of these forum pages provide information about that. But, if you do go through your carrier for support, they can escalate into RIM at no fee to you if they so choose to.
As to AppWorld Support (beyond what we volunteer to provide in these forums), that is available via this portal:
https://www.blackberry.com/CSOHelp/index.do?ft=generic

As to your question, RIM and the carriers both participate in AppWorld. My suspicion is that the carriers get a portion of the costs for the apps that are vended via AppWorld -- but that's just my suspicion. Hence, the use of AppWorld indeed requires a carrier (and, indeed, the proper data plan level from them).
But, AppWorld is merely a portal, vending apps that are (for the most part) developed by others. As such, it is not the only portal in the world for BB apps. There are a few, I think, apps that are exclusively vended via AppWorld...but I think that number is rather small. Consequently, if you desire an app that will allow your BB to function as you desire, you should seek out alternative vending portals. There are plenty.
Good luck!
