Is it possible to get a XHTML stream and parse it as XML?
look, I used the xhtml file from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XHTML:

WAD: Problems when exporting to PDF with embedded .swf
I'm using Web Application Designer (WAD) 7 and have created a template with an "Export to PDF" button and an embedded .swf flash file which is an Xcelsius dashboard.
What i'm trying to do is show the information I want on my dashboard and then export that to a PDF to email out to multiple users who would be interested in the data each month. If exporting to PDF isn't the best route to get a snapshot of this dashboard out to other users and there's an easier way please let me know, but here are the issues i'm having:
1) When I have the dashboard showing the information I want and click the "Export to PDF" button, the dashboard reloads as the PDF settings window pops up and gets reset back to it's initial state.
2) If I ignore problem #1 and click on 'OK' in the Export dialog anyway after selecting PDF settings, my Adobe Reader pops up but then shows a message saying "The file cannot be opened because it has no pages". Basically it doesn't see the .swf as being a component to take a snapshot of and print on a PDF. I did try adding a text component just so there was something on the template and I then get a PDF with that text component showing and no .swf snapshot.
Has anyone come up with a workaround for this? I've tried using the BEx Broadcaster with the 'Send' option but get the same results in regards to the blank page.
Thanks as always for the help!Thanks for the reply.
The dashboard is connected to a query in NetWeaver BI to get its data. So the request of the user is to be able to adjust the dashboard to show the information they need (well say of a certain region) and then take a snapshot of that and email it out to co-workers in Group A. Then the user will adjust the dashboard to show other data (for a different region we'll say) and take a snapshot to email out to co-workers in Group B. etc and etc.
I have looked into installing a PDFCreator print driver but that wouldn't be feasible to get it on all machines in the business. I've also looked into getting it as a .jpeg which would suffice, but am unsure if there is a way to do it with script and connect that to the dashboard when a button is pushed (will look into this). This seems like a topic for over in the Xcelsius forum now.
I used the following code within the

tags of the WAD's xhtml to embed the .swf:

Indesign export to Dreamweaver XHTML, error undefined is not an object
Please could you read the following email and make any suggestions, greatly appreciated.
Hi Guys,
Exporting it to a pdf and then again to HTML works okay so long as the text isnt in columns. Acrobat doesnt put the text in the right order which is a pain. Here is a breakdown of what i am doing and whats happening.
1. Opening an indd file in SERVER NAME/Data/ONLINE/FOLDER NAME/
2. Going to File à Cross-media Export à XHTML/Dreamweaver
3. Saving the file in SERVER NAME/Data/ONLINE/FOLDERNAME/indd exports/
4. In the export settings i am changing the Advanced settings to make sure there is No CSS
5. I hit Export and get this error message: undefined is not an object
If you go in to the indd export folder you can see that i have managed to export about half the files, the rest all have the same error message and i have no idea why.
I have tried the following:
1. Substituting all fonts it couldnt find on my computer for the default fonts
2. Taking out all the images (we dont need them, just the text)
3. Closing everything down and rebooting CS3
4. Closing everything down and rebooting the Mac
5. Saving the file on to the local machine and trying againHi all,
I'm getting this error "undefined is not an object" and can't get past it.
What do you mean by "nested paragraph styles in your document"? How do I find these in my document?
I went to all the Paragraph Styles Options -> Drop Caps and Nested Styles that I've defined im my doc and none of them have these (Drop Caps and Nested Styles) configs. Is this what you refer to?
Thank you. -

Attach file via RFC on an object in SAP R/3 4.6c
Hi experts,
I have to attach a file via a RFC into a Business Object of PM module; could be an Order (IW32) or a Note (IW22).
I had tried the sample codes I saw in here, but none of them proved to be useful - some were not in use for me because of the lack of FM to convert from XSTRING to BINARY in 4.6c, some because of the code (not functional for RFC's)... I am searching (desperately) for directions, or a sample code (that works in 4.6c)!
The requirements of the function I have to develop is:
We will use R/3 4.6c integrated via RFCs with the PORTAL.
For this FM (RFC) we have to:
1- Receive file content directly into a XSTRING type IMPORT PARAMETER (using GOS resources).
2- Get this content and save it on a table or ATTACH this content (file) to an PM Order or Note.
Well, am I in the right way?! Can I develop a RFC like this in 4.6c, or is it impossible?!
I haven't seen a solution yet for this kind of problem, and ask for your kind help, friends.
Thanks!
Marcos Paulo
SAP/ABAP consultant
BrazilThanks for welcoming me, friend. Hope I can help you as much as I need your help now...!
Unfortunately, the method you're counseling me to follow don't fit, as one of my big problems in this case is to convert the Hexadecimal value (XSTRING) brought to the RFC to a binary one BEFORE I can send it to a internal table, thus calling the FM you mentioned, as it expects a TABLE parameter filled with a binary value.
I know that in earlier versions, there is a conversion routine that could be helpful... I think it is "SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY"... but it isn't found here in 4.6c.
Neither notes on trying this solution on a DIALOG landscape would help me, I guess. I've tryed every and each program or snippet found here in SDN, unsucessfully though...
Guess here's the trick: the lack of built-in types and FM on this version of SAP that could help us, desperate developers, find a generic solution in time...
Thank you, though.
Is there any other solution? please answer in this topic.

Re : select-options in abap objects
Dear friends,
I want to give select-options in abap-objects program. How to give that.
Thanking You
with regards,
ManiHI Mani,
It's common mix ABAP Procedural with ABAP Objects in the same program.
You should use the same way used in ABAP procedural program as Marco Cerdelli sad.
But inside ABAP OBJECTS classes you can't use is these statement type.
Don't forget to close this thread and all yours previous when your question be answered ! In case of doubt read the [rules of engagement|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/].

Ie9 flash object not showing when wmode is set
I'm searching and searching but do not find any solution for this.
We're having a flex web application that is working fine until now. We're using until recently the google maps flash api, unfortunately this is already deprecated and will disappear completely in september 2014. Therefor we moved the whole integration to the js v3 api, which is working fine. The whole thing is an overlay over the application, since everything is moved to js, I added the property wmode to the object in html and set it to opaque in order to be able to layer everything. It's working fine for most people, but some (including my boss) are seeing a blank screen. Seems that nothing happens (although the swf loads), and I can not figure out why. Same browser (ie 9 or 10), same flash player version (11.6.xxx). Browser cache cleared, flash player cache cleared...
Somebody having a clue? Removing the wmode-property solves the issue, but then I'm not be able to get my map on top of the application.
The swf is definetly loading since I see calls made to the server in order to login etc. It's also not a flash player issue. The swf-file is directly accessable and rendering if done so.
Thanks

embedded in a web page. When you add the SWF to the stage as a
stand-alone display object using addChild() it is not being hosted
in the web page.
You have 2 options:
1. Modify the SWF code (if possible) to remove the
ExternalInterface requirement. You can write code in your AIR
application javascript to subscribe directly to events from the SWF
using addListener() and call functions directly on the SWF object
(Flash/Actionscript is not my primary development environment... so
if I have gotten the terminology wrong I apologize, but I HAVE
written a flash application that worked as I describe). My SWF
actually works embedded in HTML or not using the code "if
(ExternalInterface.available) {
ExternalInterface.addCallback("setIsPlaying", setIsPlaying ); }"
2) Somehow add a HTMLLoader in a new child window (with
transparent = false) to the stage as a new child. I have not yet
figured out exactly how to do this, so If anyone can provide
information on how to do this, I too would be appreciative. -
[SOLVED] Multiple Dynamic View Objects and View Links - ADF Tree Table

I've got a method that creates 3 dynamic viewobjects using this:
ViewDefImpl Level1ViewDef = new ViewDefImpl("Level1View");
Level1ViewDef.addViewAttribute("LevelDescription","LEVEL1_DESCRIPTION",String.class);
Level1ViewDef.addViewAttribute("SetOfBooksId","SET_OF_BOOKS_ID",Number.class);

Level1ViewDef.resolveDefObject();
Level1ViewDef.registerDefObject();
ViewObject vo1 = createViewObject("Level1View",Level1ViewDef);I can create the view objects fine and create a single viewlink between two of them, however i'm getting problems with 2 view links.
This is how I'm creating a view link:
ViewLink Level2Level1FKLink = createViewLinkBetweenViewObjects("Level2Level1FKLink1",
"Level2View",
vo1,
new AttributeDef[]{
vo1.findAttributeDef("Level1")
vo2,
new AttributeDef[]{

"LEVEL1 = :Bind_Level1");
ViewLink Level3Level2FKLink = createViewLinkBetweenViewObjects("Level3Level2FKLink1",
"Level3View",
vo2,
new AttributeDef[]{
vo2.findAttributeDef("Level2")
vo3,
new AttributeDef[]{
vo3.findAttributeDef("Level2")
"LEVEL2 = :Bind_Level2");I can get the data to display on an adf tree table if i'm only using a single view link, but when i try and implement 2 view link (for 3 levels on the adf tree table) i'm getting problems displaying the data.
I'm getting the following error:
Aug 10, 2007 2:44:39 PM oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.renderkit.core.xhtml.PanelPartialRootRenderer encodeAll

I've been reading about something similar here

but I am still unsure of what the problem is.

Would you like to help me on output a text as xhtml format in AIF?
E.g. i would like to output a text as "M2M" ,the text is passed from one field of interface structure, I try to put the text as "M2M" in the field of interface structure , but it just outputs full text "M2M" , doesn't show "M2M" as my expectation, I already set the field format as "Rich Text" and data format as "XHTML" for the object of text field in AIF.
Please help. thank you very much .Hi Naveen:
please find below screen-shots , thanks
1) the content from interface
2)Output in the AIF form
My requirement is Prize is M2M, like left cell Prize2
3) field property -

viewDef.setExpertMode(true);
viewDef.addEntityUsage("EmpEO","va.oracle.apps.fnd.experiment.server.EmpEO",false);
viewDef.setViewObjectClass("oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAViewObjectImpl");
viewDef.setViewRowClass("oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAViewRowImpl");

ViewObject vo = createViewObject("MyEmpVO", viewDef);
In Controller
public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
am.invokeMethod("dynamicVO");
System.out.println("am.invokeMethod dynamicVO");
OAMessageChoiceBean popList = (OAMessageChoiceBean)this.createWebBean(pageContext,OAMessageChoiceBean.MESSAGE_CHOICE_BEAN);

How to bind a complex object to a composite component
I'm using JSF2 and having an issue binding an object (EL Expression) as a parameter to my composite component.
I have written a composite component (not very complex) that will display a drop-down list of countries and should bind the selection to a provided target bean.

<composite:interface>
<composite:attribute name="label" required="true" />
<composite:attribute name="requiredMessage" required="true"/>
<composite:attribute name="target" required="true" type="com.mycompany.entity.Country"/>
</composite:interface>

<composite:implementation>
<h:panelGrid columns="2">
<h:outputLabel for="country-list" value="#{cc.attrs.label}"/>
<h:panelGrid id="country" columns="1" styleClass="select-one-menu-panel" >
<h:selectOneMenu id="country-list"
enabledClass="select-one-menu-enabled" disabledClass="select-one-menu-disabled"
layout="pageDirection"
value="#{cc.attrs.target}"
required="true" requiredMessage="#{cc.attrs.requiredMessage}"
>
<f:selectItem itemLabel="#{msgs['label.pleaseSelect']}" itemValue="" />
<f:selectItems value="#{countryController.countries}" />
<a4j:ajax />
</h:selectOneMenu>
<a4j:outputPanel id="country-list-error-panel" ajaxRendered="true">
<h:message id="country-list-error" for="country-list" style="color:red"/>
</a4j:outputPanel>
</h:panelGrid>
</h:panelGrid>
</composite:implementation>

I want to be able to use the composite component in the following way:
<util:country-select
label="#{msgs['label.countryOfBirth']}"
requiredMessge="#{msgs['error.birthCountryRequired']}"
target="#{participant.countryOfBirth}"/>
When I load the page everything renders correctly, but when I select an item from the drop-down I get a validation error.
apply-form:j_idt77:country-list: Validation Error: Value is not valid
I know that it must be something with the way that I have the parameters defined but I simply can't find any information to help me figure this out.
Any light that you might be able to she on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the help...Hi,
well, you can. What the ADF Data Control and thus the binding gives you is the JSF component binding and the business service access.
If you don't want to use ADF, then what you can do is
- Create an ADF BC root Application Module from a managed bean
e.g. see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#CHDDDBFC
- Access the View Object for querying the data to display
- Expose the queried data so the component can handle it e.g. setter/getter for input components, ArrayList for tables (or you create the more complex component models like table and tree models)
Having outlined the above, here are some gotchas to watch out for
- Make sure creating the root application module is done such that you don't create/release it with each request. So you may consider a data serving managed bean in a scope like page flow or session
- Ensure you have helper methods that allow you to query and CRUD operate the View Object data

Recent loss of embedded QT movies on many page for IE7 using ActiveX object
I have many pages that allow you to select from 4 video formats including QT .mov. An example is at http://www.cwdjr.net/video4/cancanL.php . The QT object uses ActiveX when on IE only(I use Windows conditional comments) and an ordinary object for most other browsers. Until sometime very recently all of these pages worked when you select the QT file. Now QT works on none of them. I suspected the problem might be due to a very recent Windows XP update which is a large one including .NET updates and other things(K8951847) X 86. I was able to restore to a day before this update, but this did not solve the problem. Of course some portions of some updates can not be removed be restoring to an earlier time, so the result does not prove the update was not at fault.
The involved pages are mostly written in php on the server, so you will not be able to see very much by viewing the source code. To make the problem more simple to view, I made a test page for QT only and with the ActiveX object only. Thus this test page can not be viewed on most browsers that do not support ActiveX. The test page is at http://www.cwdjr.info/broadbandMedia/formatsAX/qtmovtest2.php . Since I serve pages as valid xhtml 1.1 using the correct mime type application xhtml+xml, no IE browser can view the page, since no IE browser can support xhtml served properly. Thus I have a php include at the very top for header exchange between the browser and server. If this says the page does not support the mime type for xhtml, then php using regular expressions, etc is used to rewrite the page as html 4.01 strict for the outmoded browser. Thus don't be surprised if you find some pages in xhtml and others in html when you check properties.
The ActiveX object used for QT on the test page is below:
QT MOV
(CLICK ABOVE LINK IF NO PLAYER)

Once the page comes up on IE7, it is rather slow to respond. Then it gives:
"Web site wants to install the following ActiveX control: 'Quick Time' from 'Apple Inc'".
If you do try to install, nothing happens. In contrast to my regular pages, I added the code show above just before the start of the object. Clicking this on will bring up the QT video, but of course it is not embedded on the desired page. This may work as a temporary fix for IE. I likely can hide it from other browsers by enclosing it in Microsoft conditional comments.
I would be interested if anyone else has had such a problem recently or any ideas concerning this strange response on IE7. I am talking about viewing the page on the server. Since this is a php page it can be viewed locally only if you have a server installed on your computer and I do not. The pages with the first url example given above have operated well on IE7, Firefox, Opera, Safari for Windows, Flock, K-Meleon, Google Chrome and SeaMonkey. There are a few players that have some issues with some of the formats, but this and the fact that some players may not be installed is the reason for offering the video in 4 formats. I sometimes offer high broadband versions as well as low broadband versions.
It seems I spend more time correcting IE issues than for all of the other mentioned browsers combined.Thanks for the reference. I use nearly no JS anymore, since it often causes problems with true xhtml served properly even when you use external script files. Often one can use php script on the server and avoid these problems. When one serves as true xhtml using the correct mime type of application/xhtml+xml, the page is parsed with a very strict xml parser rather than a loose-as-a-goose html parser. (If one serves a page written in xhtml code as mime text/html, as is incorrectly done perhaps 99% of the time, you are using only html, not xhtml, and are fooling only yourself. The page is parsed as html instead of xhtml.) The xml parser has to be very strict to account for any possible xml content. Even a single, or even several, errors often will not prevent a html page from showing, but even a single error on an xhtml page served properly will often get an error report from the xml parser rather than a view of the page. One of the most laughable examples of misunderstanding of this issue is the home page of Microsoft. It claims to be xhtml. However it is served as text/html and thus would be better written in html 4.01 in the first place. Moreover, if you validate the page as xhtml at w3c, you find hundreds of xhtml errors. If Microsoft served their home page properly as application/xhtml+xml it of course would not work on any IE browser, at least through IE7, since none of these IE browsers can handle true xhtml. In addition the page likely would not show up on any browser if served as true xhtml until all of the hundreds of xml and other errors on the page were corrected. Instead, one likely would get a very long error report rather than a view of the page.
Back to JS, document.write will not work in properly served xhtml, because it easily could produce code with XML errors. For instance it might produce code that contains an unclosed tag, which is a major xml error that can cause an xml device to malfunction. The xml parser thus rightly finds document.write as an error and prevents viewing of the page. However one often can generate the same code as document.write would produce on a browser with php on the server. The finished code is what gets downloaded to the browser, so the xml parser can check everything in the finished code rather than quess what a JS document.write might produce. And don't think you can sweep document.write under the rug by using an external JS file. The very strict xml parser finds it.
Of course embed has never been a w3c tag, but rather is a bad hangover from the browser war era, a gift of Netscape. No page that includes embed can validate as w3c xhtml or xml of any flavor, at least through xhtml 1.1. However the page may work, despite the error, if server as text/html.
All I know is that something has happened recently that has caused my problem to surface. It likely has to do with some change in the XP OS or IE browser. I have tried viewing several pages written by others that use many types of code for .mov, and all of them I have viewed that use an ActiveX embed for the benefit of IE now have the problem I mentioned. If anyone else with XP and nearly all updates, including the very recent one I mentioned, and the most recent version of QT has had this problem, I could be more confident that the problem comes from an external source. If not, it is still possible the sudden change could be something concerning a specific issue that has developed in my computer.
Again, thanks for the JS reference. Some of this likely can translate into php so I can compare how the JS and php server script I am using relate. -
FABridge.flash.root() is null or not an object
Hello everyone! I'm having a problem with Flex-Ajay Bridge in
an aspx page. Days ago I could access flex variables from
javascript without problems, but now I can´t. This is my flex
code:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
xmlns="*" layout="absolute" height="194" width="374"
creationComplete="init()">
<fab:FABridge xmlns:fab="bridge.*" bridgeName="flash"
id="flash"/>
<mx:Script>

import mx.controls.Alert;
public function init():void
mx.controls.Alert.show("ready");

</mx:Script>
<mx:Label x="227" y="171" text="Probemos......"
fontSize="14"/>
<mx:TextInput x="140" y="27" id="pki"/>
<mx:TextInput x="140" y="76" id="pkf"/>
<mx:TextInput x="140" y="122" id="nc"/>
<mx:Label x="27" y="29" text="PKI" fontSize="14"/>
<mx:Label x="27" y="78" text="PKF" fontSize="14"/>
<mx:Label x="27" y="123" text="Max. Carriles"
fontSize="14"/>
</mx:Application>
It's just some text boxes and labels. I want to access those
labels from javascript, so I wrote in my html page this:

Inventario de Carriles con Flex

<

(...............)
When I click in the button, the js fuction starts executing
but when it tries to initialize the flexApp variable it shows an
error: flexApp.flash.root() is null or not an object.......... can
you please help me? I tried everything and didn't manage to solve
this problem, I know that the flex .swf is initialized but I don't
know why the javascript can't access it :(
Does someone knows what can I do in order to solve this???
Thanks!!!

When I use the Insert > Media > Flash Video function in
Dreamweaver CS3, the code that is automatically generated does not
validate as XHTML. The errors are mainly in the code I have copied
below.
Here are some of the errors I get when I try to validate the
code with W3C:
1) S separator in comment declaration
2) Invalid comment declaration: found name start character
outside comment but inside comment declaration.
3) Character "<" is the first character of a delimiter but
occurred as data.
4) Cannot generate system identifier for general entity
"MM_ComponentVersion".
5) general entity "MM_ComponentVersion" not defined and no
default entity.
6) reference not terminated by REFC delimiter.
7) general entity "skinName" not defined and no default
entity
8) cannot generate system identifier for general entity
"streamName".
9) general entity "autoPlay" not defined and no default
entity.
etc etc
Is this to do with the deprecated tag? How do I
get around this? The video plays fine on the latest versions of IE,
FireFox, Safari and Opera.
Many thanks,
Sue is not deprecated. It's invalid HTML. It was
never part of the
HTML specification.
There are a number of ways around these warnings, and you can
'cloak' the
code so that the validator never sees it, but I just ignore
them. It's very
easy to do after you've had the first few cups of coffee.
