XI 3.0 and EP 6.0 backup ******
Hi,
How to schedule XI and EP backup. I nkow only ABAP engine backup , never worked on J2ee engine backup.
Any idea on this.

Starting and Stopping the SAP Web AS ABAP+J2EE System
Use
You can use this procedure to stop and restart the J2EE Engine in case of the J2EE Engine installed as an add-in in a SAP Web AS ABAP System.
The J2EE Engine gets automatically started with the ABAP System, but you can stop and restart the J2EE Engine. If you dont restart the J2EE Engine it will be launched again with the next restart of the ABAP System.
Procedure
1. In the ABAP System start the ICM Monitor (transaction SMICM or by choosing Administration ® System Management ® Monitor ® System Monitoring ® Internet Communication Manager).
2. On the initial screen of the ICM monitor (Transaction SMICM), choose Administration ® J2EE Server.
3. Choose one of the following functions:
· Sending a Soft Shutdown (With or Without a Restart)
The (ABAP) dispatcher of the SAP Web Application Server sets the restart flag for the J2EE Engine and sends the SOFTSHUTDOWN message to the J2EE Engine. The dispatcher does not actively close the connection, the J2EE Engine must close itself instead. If the application server is restarted, the J2EE Engine is restarted by the dispatcher.
· Sending a Hard Shutdown (With or Without a Restart)
The (ABAP) dispatcher of the SAP Web Application Server sets the restart flag for the J2EE Engine and sends the HARDTSHUTDOWN message to the J2EE Engine. The dispatcher does not actively close the connection, the J2EE Engine must close itself instead. If the application server is restarted, the J2EE Engine is restarted by the (ABAP) dispatcher.
· Ending the Process (With or Without a Restart)
The SAP Web Application Servers dispatcher sets the restart flag for the J2EE Engine and sends a signal to the process (shell or Java process). If the application server is restarted, the J2EE Engine is restarted by the dispatcher.
· Restart Yes/No
This sets the J2EE Engines restart flag.

I am trying to restore a backup onto my iphone from itunes on a pc windows 8 but it asked me for a backup password which I cant remember, is there anyway that I can reset the password and not lose my backup? Any help is very appreciated

My 235 MB external HD was full, I bought a new 2TB and dragged and dropped the old backup files to it. Now my iMac is frozen in "preparing copy" mode. How can I 'unfreeze' it? How should I move the backup files from one external HD to the other?
This has been answered here so may times (especially by pondini, e.g. in this thread Time Machine stuck in repeating "preparing files" cycle), so please search this forum the next time before asking such a question.

I'm having probelms backing up my information to my iCloud account. I tried to reset the account and erase everything in my account but the problem is still there. The problem is that my iPhone is not able to complete the backup process and all it is saying a problem occured.
Someone Pleas let me know how to reset my account, delet everyhting in the Cloud and start a new backup.

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Had 3G, moved to 3GS. Backed up 3G and restored 3GS from backup with no problem on a Dell computer. But now when I want to add songs, I get itunes message of death that the new iphone is synced to another computer and now wants to erase everything. How can I add music without erasing everything on my new iphone?
Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me. Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

I just bought a new Iphone and when I connected it to itunes and I downloaded the backup from my last device, now I can't pass this step and every time I connect it to itunes is the same thing. And I can't download any app because problems with my account regarding the credit card but the information is correct and it says it is not!!!
You'll have to contact iTunes store support regarding your credit card information problem: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. I'm not clear on what you're saying about your backup. Are you saying that when you connect to iTunes it's asking you to restore from backup even though you already have?

The pc that I used to download CD music to into my itunes library was stolen and I had no backup. I have all my itunes music on my iphone and ipod. can i have music from music from my iphone or ipod transferred to my mac computer through itunes?
I have a similar problem. I recieved an IPAD for my birthday, and my daughter updated my itunes library so i can use it with the ipad...and somehow all my songs (unpurchased from itunes, and downloaded from a large collection of CDs) ...and play lists were deleted. I still have them on my old ipod, and wonder how to get them back onto my computer so I can redistribute some of them to the ipad. I must be getting too old for this tech stuff, it gets less user friendly every year.

my iPhone was stolen. I just got a new one and am trying to backup my contacts and data from iCloud. How do you do that?
If your backup is in iCloud, and your new iPhone is already set up, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go throught the setup screens on the iPhone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. (If it isn't set up yet, just choose this option when setting it up.)
Be sure your iPhone it connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup. -
EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!
IS THERE ANY WAY TO RETREIVE AN ACCIDENTALLY DELETED BACK UP FROM MY TIME MACHINE DRIVE????
In other words, I emptied out a folder on my main MAC to make space and the next subsequent backup backed up the EMPTY FOLDER and then deleted the "old backup" that actually contained the contents of the very important folder.
Now only the emptied folder exists on my MAC and in the two backups on my Time machine backup drive.
This was clearly a big mistake on my part not realizing that the "old backup" being deleted by Time Machine would include backed up files that I had no intention of getting rid of....
What can I do now?
Is DATA RETREIVAL even an option?
I am sure that the Folder of files that I need are on the most recently deleted "OLD BACKUP" but how do I get to this, if even possible?????

It may be possible to recover some of the data, if it hasn't been overwritten, but it won't be cheap or easy.
You've posted in the Time Capsule forum, but you mention a "backup drive." If your backups are on a Time Capsule's internal HD, instead of an external HD, it's even worse.

I am only backing up camera roll and a my media app which are 890 MB and 414 MB, i backup everynight why is it full it says my backup size is 4.7 GB when I only have those 2 things?
The back up is supposed to be a rolling back up and therefore may still contain data from previous back ups. To free up space you may wish to delete the back up and start again.

I can't migrate from a time machine Back up. I select my TC and it says "some backups can't be opened. Make sure that all of your network devices are connected and turned on. It appears that some backups are already in use. If you don't see the backup you need, make sure it is not currently mounted by another machine and try again."

But you should be able to mount the sparsebundle and backup the major items if they are not damaged. You might also do a disk verify to see if the corruption can be repaired.
