  • Problem with Xcelsius 2008 sp3 service pack chart slider into adobe flex

    Hello All,
I tried to use the Xcelsius 2008 SP3 and created a Chart with a slider the new UI element which is introduced in the Service pack versions ..  now i tried to implement the logic in Adobe flex builer 3 setting the compiler properties as hot fix 2.0 . Followed all the rules like creating an action script and creating MXML component.. Now when i try to embed the same swf whic is generated into webdynpro component it gives me error tht some classes or some events or some variables are missing..
According to my assumption i doubt wether the xcelsius 2008 sp3 will support the adobe flex 3 with this hot fix which i was initialy using .. So can anybody suggest me what can be doen to overcome this issue and make my new chart with slider run in my webdynpro abap :(...
    Regards,
    Sana.

    Hi Sana,
You might be using Flex 3 sdk library files.
Just check in Properies of your Flex project -> Flex Build Path -> Library Path .
You might get the library files as Flex 3.*
If it is the case then change it to Flex 2.0.1 Hotfix 3.
now create a new project and compile your application and use the same swf.
Otherwise try to import any existing Flex 2 project folder with compiler flex 2 ver. then try the same swf in your xcelsius application.

  • Merge Modules X Service Packs

    Post Author: marciocallejon
    CA Forum: Deployment
    Hi,
I've been developing applications using Crystal Reports Developer 9.0 with .Net 2005 for a long time.
At the development machine, I installed the service pack 7.0 and it works fine, but, when I try to deploy the application, using the lastest merge modules, the application crashes.
Comparing the files between the development machine and the client machine, I checked that the files of the merge modules are out of date. If I copy the files manually the aplication starts to work fine too.
Now I ask, how to find the lastest merge modules syncronized with the lastest service packs ?
    Thanks, Marcio

    Hello Saurabh!
    Thanks for the information!
That helps a lot, but I still have a doubt:
I'd like to know if I can deploy an application which was created on CR XI R2(no service packs or Service pack < than the client) on a client computer which has CR R2 SP6 runtime installed.

    HI ,
SP3 for SQL server 2008 r2 is not there I guess you are talking about SQL server 2008.When you install Service pack and reach to 'Select Features ' page please select all the features. You can see SSIS ,SSRS and SSAS listed there as well with database engine
    and client tools.
After selecting all features SP will be installed for all and all features will be patched

  • Windows XP Service Pack 2 Installed, still no response from Zen

I'm at a complete loss what to do now. My Zen Vision M will not connect to my computer. I've done everything suggested in these forums and more. I spent $30 on a high quality Belkin 2.0 USB port and installed it properly. I spent $20 on an AC charger to make sure it was not an issue with charging from the USB port. After 5 hours of waiting on my 56K modem connection I was able to install Service Pack . When this didn't work, I ordered Service Pack 2, waited over a week for it to come. I recieved Service Pack 2 today and installed it properly. Nothing. Why with all these fixes is it still not showing up as connected? I've followed every step to restart, format, and clean up the Zen. I've selected "everyone" in the registery to make sure Windows is allowing it to show up. I've restarted, restarted, reinstalled, restarted, etc., over and over again. It CAN connect, because I am able to use it as a removable storage device. But you cannot play music through this, so what's the point? What else can I do? I would just return the stupid thing, but it was a gift, and I'm trying my best to make it work.

My computer is fully up to date now, I doubt it would work on anyone else's computer after all the hot fixes, patches, and windows updates I've installed. I don't know ANYONE who keeps their computer that updated.
I did try it on one friend's computer, and nothing. I really don't know anyone elses' I could try it on. And even then, yeah I highly doubt it would work.
How much does it cost to send it to creative? Because I've already spent $50 of my own money on this, nevermind how much my dad must have spent buying the thing in the first place.

  • How to upgrade the service packs

    hi
You need to first download the service packs for the particular product from the service market place. Service packs offer solution to the bugs in the product which was released earlier. So each version may have inturn have many service packs released.
First of all before upgrade you need to know which version and service pack you are right now. Then accordingly you can download the desired files by giving the target SP and current SP. There are suitable upgradation documents available in market place reading upon which you can install Portal or WAS.

  • XP and service pack 2

I have an old copy of XP I purchased in 2002. I am not sure, but I doubt that Service Pack 2 comes with it. How can I find out. The warning on Boot Camp says not install XP unless it is Win XP with Service Pack 2.
Is there a way I can install XP on our new alum iMac (20 inch, 2.4 ghz)?
    Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks for the pointer. There are so many steps to slip stream XP and the Service Pack that I am virtually certain it will never work using Vista. Vista is just a pig that doesn't work. It just never does. Not ever.
That is why I am trying to migrate to a Mac OS.
I am going to give it a try when I have a day or two free I guess. I am certain as death and taxes that Vista either won't DL the SP or won't allow me to combine the two together and make a new XP boot CD.

  • Service Packs, Security Updates and Cumulative Updates

I would like to find a  document that would help me understand and clarify Service Packs, Security Updates and Cumulative Updates versions and relationships.
Things like. Cumulative Updates include old Security Updates. Cumulative Updates do not overwrite applied Security Updates, etc.
    For instance,
    I am upgrading a server from: 10.0.5512 (SQL 2008 SP3, After Security Update MS12-70)  To: 10.0.5861 (SQL 2008 SP3 CU17).
Would the MS12-70 (2754849) I installed still be present after installing CU17? The reason for doubt was that I saw another version of MS12-70 that includes
CU 1 to 7(KB2716435). So makes me wonder about it.
I am probably not able to explain myself right but, the idea is to find a document that can explain how the build information and versioning works.
Some how I have the idea that Cumulative updates would not include Security Updates.
    Thanks beforehand
    Paulino

    Hi,
Below will give you list of Service packs and Cumulative updates for SQL Server
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321185
    http://sqlserverbuilds.blogspot.co.uk/
Security updates are for Windows not SQL Server. SQL server releases Cumulative updates after that a comprehensive service pack is released which includes all fixes that were done in Cumulative updates.
Cumulative updates fix only a certain type of problem(for which they are created) and should only be applied if facing issue
Service packs are more through and Inclusive and should be applied and contains many fixes and sometimes introduces few features as well. SP are more thoroughly tested as compared to CU For Cumulative
    update from Microsoft:
We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment.
This cumulative package is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems.
This cumulative update contains all the hotfixes and all the updates that were included with the previous SQL Server 2014 update release.
Windows patch has hardly any relation to SQL server SP and CU.

  • Microsoft Service Pack 2 - not all versions are equal; how to update to the latest one "safe

I posted this under another topic where it was relevant, but thought the instructions I got from Microsoft were useful (as was my experience in using them as I sent back a reply to them with the problems I encountered [none of which were particularly bad]):
One important point to note is that not all Windows XP SP2 upgrades are equal.
I had a different issue and spoke to Microsoft, who advised me to uninstall the version of SP2 I had and reinstall the newest version (the old version was about 70mb, the new one nearly 250mb).
Apparently the old SP2 had quite a few problems with it; I've found the new one to be "simply stress free" since installing...
The SP2 file name I installed (ie the newest at the time I did it) was "windowsxp-kb835935-sp2-enu".
Here's their instructions - I disagree with the way round that they suggested downloading the update (ie I would strongly advise downloading the update and having it sitting on your desktop before doing anything!!! - please see my feedback email to them that follows (you will note that I had problems connecting to the internet after uninstalling the earlier version; this, combined with the fact that I could barely read what was on the screen would have given me a major inconvenience had I not done this)!!! (and don't blame me if it goes horribly wrong - it's also worth double-checking that the version of SP2 the email links to is the most up to date. I've had a quick check myself, and it does indeed appear to still be the most up to date):
MICROSOFT'S EMAIL (make sure you also read my reply below):

Click Start >> Run >> In the run dialog box type msconfig and then click ok 2. Put a dot in selecti've startup 3. Uncheck all of the check boxes that become available except Process System.ini file and Load system services 4. Go to the Services tab along the top, click Hide all Microsoft Services 5. Then disable any remaining services 6. Click apply and then close 7. Finally select yes, this will start in a clean boot. 8. Then go to (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en) and download and install Service Pack 29. To return your PC to normal, open the System Configuration Utility, click "Normal Startup", click OK and restart. Then restart your computer and try accessing updates againPlease let me know the results of these methods, particularly if there were any steps that you were unable to complete successfully.
    MY REPLY:
HiI successfully carried out the installation on Saturday.A few minor problems ensued (the second one may have cause a novice user real problems! Certainly caused me some concern whilst working through it!). I had to reinstall ATI drivers from scratch (for Radeon 9800 Pro); this was however the only set of drivers that appeared to "detach" itself. The main problem here was that instead of using the usual standard VGA driver (which it does when I uninstall it once a month to install updated drivers), it used some other driver that made the screen very difficult to see (especially on blue backgrounds!). Running ATI's total uninstall program sorted this out however, and fortunately I had the last update package from ATI still on my system. After uninstalling and reinstalling there appeared to be no further video problems.2. After installing SP2 (and before installing above), whilst I was in the process of getting everything up and running (eg installing the security updates) the system randomly froze about 4 or 5 times; the only way to sort this out was to use the power button. I traced this problem to Windows changing my wireless networking settings so that it handled everything; I have a Netgear adaptor the software for which usually controls this (Netgear Smart Wizard). Basically the two were trying to do the same task and causing crashes; on switching Windows management off, things settled down (the Netgear driver did not need to be reinstalled).3. As a minor point, after the upgrade and installing all other updates, I noted that Microsoft Update was no longer running; I had to reinstall it from Windows Update and the messages I got whilst installing suggested that it was still partially installed but that there were problems with it. It now works.4. As a final minor point, I attach the Scan log from Registry Mechanic which I ran after everything was up and running; it fixed various problems within the registry. I note that the majority of errors are inconsequential, but note that a few do relate to the various Microsoft installs; maybe the installer program for SP2/ Media Player 0 need to sort these out in future releases? Don't think they're a real problem though! The instructions supplied worked fine; one thing I would suggest is that users are instructed to download the SP2 upgrade pack to their desktop prior to uninstalling the original SP2; I believe that my internet connection problems started after I had uninstalled the original SP2 which may have caused problems downloading the new SP2. It also ensures that the download is successful (eg if the site was down for maintenance); I was advised whilst uninstalling SP2 that about 20 programs/drivers would not work properly after the uninstall and so the immediate reinstall was vital! One thing that seemed to fix after reinstalling was a problem I was having installing Media Player 0; after installing it previously, every time I checked for updates on it the whole program would reinstall. Now however this has fixed. I will let you know if I encounter any further problems, but things all seem to be fine now, touch wood.....!
Hope this helps!Message Edited by gjc26 on 0-27-2006 02:50 AM

One small thing - I believe the reason why some of my drivers were messing up was because they were SP2 specific; the older drivers and the ones that were compatible with both SP and 2 were fine.
As soon as I did the reinstall, all of the drivers/programs that were not working, worked (aside from the ones that I mentioned in my attached email above).
So, if after uninstalling the old SP2 you are told that loads of drivers/programs will not work, fear not - most should fix themselves upon installing the new SP2.

  • Can I obtain a CD-ROM with the latest revision of Adobe Reader for a Windows XP system w/ Service Pack 3. I do not want to go online with this system. I have dedicated it to read all of my PDF Files only.

I have 4 computer systems, 2 of which run under Windows XP w/ Service Pack 3.
