[XI 3.1] Issues during "Clean" install on Windows Server (64-bit) OS

Started setting-up a SANDBOX yesterday of BOE-XI (Release 3.1) on a "Clean" Windows Server (64-bit) OS.
I hit a couple of issues that I think may be related to the DEFAULT "Program Files" location on the OS being...
C:\Program Files (x86)\
...rather than...
C:\Program Files\
I chose to install the MySQL database and the IIS and Tomcat DEFAULTs for the CMC and InfoView.
BOE-XI (Release 3.1) said that it ran OK, but we had two issues that we are now cleaning-up...
1.) SIA did not install / appear in CCM. Had to manually create a new one.
2.) Tomcat InfoView and CMC were OK, but the .NET (IIS) InfoView throws a "The page cannot be found" error when trying to connect to...
http://<servername>/InfoViewApp/logon.aspx
Anyone seen this issue before - or have a link to a "Best Practices" document for installing on BOE-XI (Release 3.1) on the Windows Server (64-bit) OS...?
Thanks in Advance!

Hi,
I am also experiencing this issue with Crystal Reports Server XI installed on 64-Bit Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
I am also getting the following error when trying to view reports
The Page Server you are trying to connect to is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator.
Unable to retrieve Object.
The Page Server you are trying to connect to is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

There are a lot of embedded questions here, I'll try to hit them all:
    1) If you're reinstalling on the same partition, you do not need to be too crazy in how it gets formatted.  There's no performance gain to using BCWipe or anything.  When you format, you're just erasing the table of contents, then overwriting the
actual data later on anyway.  Just keep it simple.
    2) If you want to save the data, just copy it somewhere else before you delete anything.  If you're not concerned about the data, don't worry about it, just go back to answer #1.
    3) You can download the Evaluation OS from the MS website.  You cannot turn an eval copy into a full install without reinstalling, so are you sure that is what you want?  You'll end up test building, then when you like it, you'll have to do it
    all over again.
    4) ISO to DVD or USB: Doesn't matter how you end up installing it.  Today's machines can usually support any install media.  Some ways are faster, but you're only talking about saving minutes.  What does it really matter?

  • Doing a clean install of Windows 7, 64 bit. but don't have the necessary drivers for my dv6t-1300

When I searched on drivers for my machine all I get is an offer to scan it for new ones.
I need to download and store all the appropriate drivers so I can reformat the hard drive and do a complete reinstallation of everything.
Where can I find my drivers?
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
All the drivers and software available to download for your notebook can be found on the following link - ignore the 'Scan Now' option.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3999...
If you can still boot into Windows, another option is to back-up the swsetup folder stored at the root of the C drive - this will contain installers for all the drivers and software that came with your machine ( the only exception is usually trial versions of MS Office ).

  • Some issues after clean installing windows 7 pro 64bit

    Hi,
I have a couple of issues, I clean installed windows 7 pro, 64bit, (vanilla) restored my license with ABR and used system update to download all the drivers. (no issues until here) But after restarting the system, I found this issues:
    1. I have to put the bios in legacy mode for system to boot. Otherwise it gives me a "no operating system found" message. Is there any way to make a proper installation for the system to boot in UEFI and LEGACY?
    2. System update didn't install thinkvantage center. (the program that stays in the taskbar). Should this be installed manually? Or system update should have installed it?
3*. I can not use lenovo driver page of my x120e. In IE it shows me repeatedly the wizard to choose my model, although I enter the correct info there. It starts all over again and again. Tried opera, I can see the drivers page, but I can't browse, or expand none of the sections. (all I can think of this, do I need java for the page to work?)
3*. UPDATE: After installing IE 9, java and flash player, still not working. Opera too. Google Chrome works fine.           What's the matter with IE and OPERA? What component do I need to make IE work with lenovo drivers download page?
Can anyone help me? Never had to deal with these issues.
    Thanks in advance

Have you tried wiping the hard disk drive and reinstalling Windows 7 Professional x64 from the factory recovery discs while the BIOS is set to UEFI?  If so, did that work?

  • Clean install of Windows 7 Pro or Enterprise creates update issues on Pavilion G6 notebooks

    Hello,
Our small company has 5 older HP Pavilion g6 notebooks running Window 7 Home edition.  We wanted to make them, and a few other Acer laptops, part of our domain.  So, we did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro (you can't upgrade with a volume license key).  After the install, the HP laptops have windows update issues and currupt installs.  The Acer laptops installed with no issues.   I've tried installing the Enterprise version with the same results.  I tried installing from dvd and usb, both with the same results.  Any idea?
    Thank You

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. It seems to be kinda stable now.  Updates would never work from the getgo.  I had to reinstall update agent a few times and run the update troubleshooter found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/windows-update-issues/en-us  Until I got it working, I used Autopatcher to install updates. However, the computer isn't stable enough though to allow someone to use it for work.  I don't recommend doing a clean install on these machines.

This will give you a functioning touch screen. The version I used was win8.1 vintage and works without a problem.

  • Toshiba M305D : blue windows screen during the install of Windows 7 / Vista, no Audio on Windows XP

    Dear Users
Last week I had a clean install of Windows 7 64bit on my M305D-S4830 laptop.
I've used this OS on this machine before, and it worked fine.
After installing Win7, the device manager showed 2 unknown devices. First I've installed the O2 multimedia card reader, and it went ok. Secondly I've installed for the unknown device "hdmi audio" a hdmi audio driver from ATi, since the notebook has AMD 780V chipset and a Radeon HD3100 (it hasn't any hdmi output, but I didn't want to have any unknown devices).
    And my nightmare begun.
While restarting after the driver upgrade, my brand new Win 7 boot hang on blue screen code: 0x00000124, which is common for many hardware and software faults. I ran safe mode to clean the system from the hdmi audio driver, but the catalyst install manager dind't let me to remove it. Since it was a fresh install on a formatted HDD, I took the time for another clean install (20 mins). But during the Win 7 install, the installer hang on blue screen, guess what, code: 0x00000124. I changed to the factory-backup Win Vista disks of my laptop, but Vista had the same problem, I couldn't install this OS either, blue screen during install, too.
I took a Win XP Prof SP3 as a last option, and I could finally install it. But after the install, I had problems with the Radeon HD3100, I couldn't install the driver from the .exe, I had to make it from the device manager via properties/I choose to/graphics adapters/own disk. So I don't have the control centre, but the display works in 1280x800.
The bigger problem is: no sound.
The device manager in Win XP shows only one unknown audio device: the hdmi audio. I can't install the conexant drivers, because it says I don't have the device for that. When I install the ATi hdmi driver for XP, I get the blue screen with the error 0x00000124. Nice.
I have updated bios, and made a proper format with the partititons deleted, but it didn't helped. I think the Vista/7 install crashes at the point, when it tries to install the audio driver during OS install, because the XP was running until I have tried to install it, too. But I can't configure the Vista/7 install not to try loading it.
So my laptop is only comnpatible with XP, the install of Vista or 7 crashes. And in XP, I have got no audio devices, therefore no sound. You can imagine, how glad I am looking at my Harman/Kardon speakers right now...
    Any ideas?
    Alex

    Satellite M305D-S4830
    Any ideas?
Alex, restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. If you didn't burn them, order the discs.
       Order Toshiba Recovery Media
If it doesn't run properly after that, you have a hardware malfunction.

  • Error 0x80070015 on clean install of windows 8.1 enterprise

Hi, I am receiving and error 0x80070015 when trying to do a clean install of windows 8.1 enterprise evaluation on to a newly built PC.  I am installing from a USB stick to a brand new SSD running in ACHI mode.  Each time the installation reaches
12% on the 'getting files ready for installation' I receive this error message.  The first time I tried the installation I also got an error message 0x800703ee but this has now stopped.
Please go easy on me, I'm not an IT pro, I want to check out windows 8.1 on this new build to decide if I want to go with it or stick with Windows 7 on this and my other work PC.
    Any advice gratefully received.
    Thanks, Simon

    Hi,
Error code 0x80070015 usually means "device not ready" and is often seen when the USB drive or disc is having issues.
Please re-create a bootable USB or DVD to check the results.
Another thing is that there might be some SATA clash on your system with the new SSD connected. Please try to enter the WinRE from your USB drive and try following commands to create new partition:
    1. Use Diskpart command line to show the partition on your disk:
Run CMD as Administrator, type following command line one by one:
    DISKPART
    List Disk
    Select Disk 0
    2. Delete the system partition (if there is, it can be about 100~200MB) and C partition, delete these 2:
    List Partition
Select Partition 0 (I suspect that there is the system partition on this disk and it’s the partition 0)
    Delete Partition
Select Partition 1 (I suspect that this is the C drive)
    Delete Partition
    3. Create new one.
    Create Partition Primary
    4. Try to restart system via installation disk and reinstall Windows 8 on it.
For detailed information about this command, you can refer to this article:
    DISKPART:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770877(v=ws.10).aspx
If the issue persists, please run Check disk tool in WinRE:
    CHKDSK /R /F
Any error message, please post back.
    Hope these could be helpful.

  • How save factory software on T400 and reinstall after clean install of Windows 7

    Hi
I have a Thinkpad T400  2764-CTO Running Vista Business 32-bit  and want to do a clean install to Windows 7 Pro.
Sounds like I can get all the drivers via System Update 4.0, but I'm concerned about how to save/re-install some of the software that came on the machine.
In particular, Intervideo WinDVD and Roxio Media Import. If I go to my Programs folder and copy the folders for Roxio and InterVideo onto a flash drive, and then re-copy into the Programs folder on the C drive after a clean install, does that work?
I've never used Rescue and Recovery on the laptop, and am not sure how it works. Any advice is appreciated.
I'm not sure I even know all the stuff that exists from the factory. Anything else I should be concerned about? Thanks! - Kathleen

Please review the HP software and driver download page for drivers/software that are compatible with Windows 7. Also note that there is a BIOS update for Windows Vista that improves the system's ability to function with WIndows 7. Also read "Alerts" and other information regarding this product and Windows 7.

  • [Helix gen2] Clean Install of Windows 8.1 - one unknown device left

    Hi,
I did a clean install of win 8.1 with the suggested procedure (System Updater, Solution Center)
Unfortunately, there is one unknown device left in the device manager:
Intel(R) Serial IO SPI Host Controller - 9CE5
    ACPI\VFSI6101\1
which I thought could be solved by this driver:
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-helix-series-laptops/thinkpad...
But without success. So could anyone help? Which is the right driver? Or what should I do?
    Thx Ralf

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Good day and welcome to the community.
I found a few vague references of VFSI6101 being related to a Validity Fingerprint Sensor.
Looking at the Helix Gen2 driver pages: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-helix-series-laptops/thinkpad...
and specifically at the FPR software package page:
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-helix-series-laptops/thinkpad...
there's a reference to: "Synaptics FP Sensors(WBF) VFS6101". Pretty close!
So you might try that to see if it clears up the orphaned device.
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • Help with Performing a Clean Install of Windows 8.1

Hey. I just bought a laptop today and it came with Windows 8.1. However, my issue is that my OS resides in a huge partition (900+ MB). And I don't want this. I want to re-allocate space, and take a portion from my OS's drive in order to create more partitions.
However, to do that, I have to format the drive, which I can't 'cause it contains the OS.
Bottom line: I don't have a CD installer for Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. I am trying to perform a clean install of Windows 8.1 in my laptop. Can I get the installer online? Can I use the product key here in my already activated Windows 8.1 OS? Do I need to
install Windows 8 before installing Windows 8.1?

  • Could anyone of you please who has a clean install of Windows 8.1 on the SSD drive look at some settings of certain services (below)?

    Hi everyone,
    could anyone of you please
who has a clean install of Windows
8.1 on the SSD drive look at some settings
    of certain services (below)?
    Thank you.
Prefetch and Superfetch. In registry located on way
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\ Control\ SessionManager \MemoryManagement \PrefetchParameters.
I am interested in EnablePrefetcher and
    EnableSuperfetch REG_DWORD value.
    Just a number in parentheses.
ReadyBoot. In registry located on way HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\Control \WMI\Autologger\ReadyBoot.
I am interested REG_DWORD value of
Start. Just a number in parentheses.
Run dfrgui command. Go to Change settings and have a look if SSD on which is the system installed is included in regular optimalization schedule.
Registry can be accessed running regedit command.

    Hi,
Prefetch and Superfetch means that most commonly used files are stored to disk to be more quickly accessed later.
    For Prefetch:
    Disable Caching: 0
    Cache Applications Only: 1
    Cache Boot Files Only: 2
    Cache Everything (default): 3
    For SuperFetch:Disable Caching: 0
    Cache Boot Processed Only: 1
    Cache Applications Only: 2
    Cache Everything (default): 3
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\ReadyBoot\Start value means:
    disable: 0
    enable: 1

  • How to do a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 8.1 with a Windows 8 OEM Key

I have recently purchased a new C540 that has Windows 8 already installed on it.  I would like to perform a clean install of Windows 8.1 on this computer.
This is what I have done so far:
I disabled 3 things in the BIOS: IIRC, they were secure boot, quick boot, and something about "optimized" startup
I have changed my boot priority to put the CD/DVD drive first and any flashdrive 2nd
I have figured out my OEM Windows Product Key (this is for a Windows 8 Core/64 bit OS)
I have setup a flashdrive with Windows 8.1 on it
I tried to boot from the flashdrive...when I get the option to install windows 8.1, I click on it and very quickly get the following error -- "The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key."
I added a PID.txt file with my OEM product key in the Source folder of the Windows 8.1 install....I don't get the above error message immediately, but a screen comes up that asks me to enter a Product Code...my OEM product code (being for W8,  not W8.1) does not work while using a generic key (for Windows 8.1 Core) yields the same error message as above and exits the installer.
I then added an EI.CFG file that sets the edition to core, the version to OEM, and the Volume to 0...unfortunately, when trying to install Windows 8.1 it still asks me for a product key before installing...I cannot get past this screen even though (to my understanding) the EI.CFG file should cause the installer to skip asking for a product key...
It is important to me that I get to perform a CLEAN install of Windows 8.1...I do not want to upgrade through windows store...the only keys I have are a W8 Pro Retail key (for my laptop) and a W8 Core OEM key (that came with the new C540)...I am using a flashdrive to perform this since I knew I may have to add/change files like the PID and EI.CFG....
I would appreciate any help I can get in solving this problem...I am also willing to try burning an .iso with the PID and/or EI.CFG, but I'm trying to avoid trial and error with that since it is time consuming, requires an ADK, and may waste DVDs...I'd only make an .iso if (for whatever reason) that would work where a flashdrive woud not...

I have a new SSD drive and need to either migrate my old HD data, including the Windows 8.1 OS or do a a clean install.  I have obtained the ISO, prepared the boot for the flashdrive and downloaded the install software.  It asks for the product key.   I used the suggested BIOS reader and obtained "a" product key off the BIOS and used that it but (as above) it does not recognize the image.
How id I get my single Windows license onto my new SSD HD?  Reload, clean install, ???
How do I get the proper product key or confirm it is correct?
It is a new system with little data that I need to copy. I just want the operating system.  I have the driver disc that came with it.
