XI 3.1 Permanent License key apply

Hi,
I am trying to apply permanent License for XI 3.1 under service.sap ->Key & Requests -> License Keys
But, I am not sure how to get the Installations number and SID for Business Objects..- Windows Platform.
What should i put as SID and Installation Number ? Can somebody please suggest...

More information needed.
For example:
Your SAP version?
Is it a system copy?
How exactly did you try to delete from SAP level?
Without this information, nobody here can do anything but guess.
There are a lot of SAP notes about similar problems.
But for this you will have to supply more information.
Or better; Search in SAP notes yourself!

Problem in generating Permanent License key for Solution Manager

Hello Friends,
I am not a BASIS person, but am asked to do that job and so having some issues.
I have installed Solution Manager and was using it using templicense. However, it expired few days back and am trying to generate the permanent one.
I can't log in with the administrator user name that I had created, since it gives 'logon not possible (error in license check)'.
So I logged in as 'sap*' and gave transaction code 'SLICENSE' .
Here the system number field says 'System No.Empty'.
Also, when I click on Remote Hardware Key 'Debtermine' button, it says I have to log in as administrator. But I can't log in as administrator since it gives the above mentioned license error.
I would appreciate if some one can please let me know how to fix this issue.

Thanks for the Response. However to do that it will ask for 'Remote hardware key' and that is the problem that I am having, which is I can't get that since the license is expired.

SAP License Key configuration procedure in Web AS(J2EE)

Hi,
We installed Web AS 6.4 (J2ee). It is running on temporary license and going to expire in one week time. I applied for license key and got the permanent license key as a text file attachment through email. It is a simple text file containing the license key, system NR and etc. I saved that text file into my machine.
I tried to configure that license file into Web AS using visual administrator.
Server 0 --> Services --> Licensing Adapter --> Install License from file
I selected the text file which was sent by SAP to my mail.
It is giving error like
License file C:\(license file name).txt contains an incorrect SAP license key: Header or empty line expected.
License key(s) not completely installed.
I don't know what to do now. I think we can do through this through cmd. But I don't know how to do that.
Shall I delete the temporary license? Will the system allow me to enter the value manually.
Can any one guide me on this?

I am getting error lilke this.

             dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)
             DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll> (e.g. /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)
Any idea about it?
I set the system variable like
dbms_type = mss
DIR_LIBRARY = D:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run
But still getting the error.
Do I need to set dbms_type in environment variables? I don't know it's value. My db is MS SQL DB.

Demo license to permanent license

Hello All, again.
Is there documentation on how to go from demo to permanent?
I have my permanent license keys, files. I just feel that I should have support on the phone when I do this.
Just in case every thing doesnot come back online.
Also... should I delete the other package files and there folders first?
Like I'm thinking that I should clean up the system and only have what we really use, then apply the license.
Any doc to follow would be great.

It is pretty straight forward in 5.3.1
using the Activities... Register License...then Click Load License Button to load the license file supplied to you
You should have been given a file (5.3.1 is file based, 6.x is a code)
After loading a license file, information about your license should be displayed in the dialog / grid
Make sure it matches what you own / using for that environment
Key items
Master License for Machine <-- make sure it matches
Expiration: No expiration or some date if that is expected
Clients: # of clients you expect to connect at one time
Options <-- Make sure you have all the options you should like Fault Tolerance, Transporter, etc
If you have a demo key that is valid for this week you could switch back if you ran into problems.
Adapters may have different procedures I believe there are adapter guides for each adapter (we only use the basics)
I think generically you just need to stop drop start the master services

Need to download license key,Authorization error!

Background: We had taken 1 year Netweaver subscription which expired in november and later on, we renewed it for next year.
Problem: We have to download the license key form SAP market place. But after login, when I click on "Request permanent license key" link, it shows me 'Authorization Error!
Currently you do not have authorization to use this function. To request the authorization, please contact one of the administrators at your company'
Can any body tell me what would be problem? Or what to do next?

Even though you have valid OSS ID, access in SMP, You need need necessary Authorizaiton to request License keys not all users by default can request it.
Gain the required authorizations and then request license keys.
To know who can give acess:
Goto -> SMP -> MyProfile -> Display my Super-administrators -> One of those admin should be able to grant the required acess.

Live Office License Key

Hi,
If we order permanent license key for BOE Premium XI3.1, do we need to order key for Live Office XI3.1 separately ? As per my understanding, BOE Premium covers LiveOffice also. Please correct me if I am wrong.

We have purchased SAP Business Objects Enterprise and wanted to activate now Live Office, but don´t have a valid license-key. Is this part of the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 or does it need to be licensed separately ?
SAP BOE Premium is enough to use Live Office. You have to install a license key for BOE Premium and you have to install the component Live office but no key for live office is needed. It is like an add-on like Desktop Intelligence etcu2026
So to sum up, if you have a premium license, you don't need to buy any additional license for Live Office.

How to update CRXIr2 license key?

Currently still using the temporary license key and would like to update to the final license key. Could anyone tell me how to do that? I've found nothing in the pdf's how to do that.

License key dissapears after installation of BO Integration Kit for SAP

Hello,
I installed BO Edge 3.1 on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86_64). After installation I see the license key for 10 named users in CMCand I could add new users.
Then I installed the BO Integration Kit for SAP. After this installation the license keys are gone. I could not change the new added user and I can not implement the SAP Authentication. The message is "now valid license key for any concurrent user".
After Deinstallation of BO Integration Kit for SAP with AddOrRemoveProducts.sh the license key is still gone. I am working with permanent license keys from BO.

Hi,
in the meantime I solved the problem with support from BO. Although I am using the installation software for BO Edge 3.1 and SAP Integration Kit from the same DVD (BOBJ EDGE BI 3.1 Standard Package, #51035489) there is a inconsistency of libkeydecoder.so between BO Edge installation and SAP Kit installation. After installation of SAP Integration Kit you have to replace this lib with the old lib of BO Edge installation.

License key is invalid or has expired

I am trying to add a user via the CMC and receive the following error:
There was an error while writing data back to the server: Your license key is invalid or has expired. If you received a temporary license key by purchasing another BusinessObjects product, you must register BusinessObjects Enterprise to receive your permanent license key.
This is a new installation and I am trying to create my first user. I am brand new to Crystal Reports server and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

customercareamericas @ businessobjects.com (no spaces) should be able to assist you with acquiring a new keycode. Once received, remove the old one and enter in the new one. Please be sure to specify the product version you have deployed.

"Your license key is invalid or has expired" error (Purchased License)

We have just installed CR Server XI R2 and have purchased a valid license. The installation accepted the license key during the install and also allowed me to register this license key at the end of the install and sent me my registration number. After finish the install and following the installation guides - all of the services come up in Central Configuration Manager - but when clicking the Enable/Disable Servers icon and trying to enable 1 or all of the servers there (final step in the install guide) I get the following:
Your license key is invalid or has expired. If you received a temporary license key by purchasin another BusinessObjects product, you must register BusinessObjectsEnterprise to receive your permanent license key.
Again, this is not a temp license, but a full Crystal Reports Server XI R2 5 Cal keycode, purchased through CDW.
When we were awaiting the full license to come, we attempted to install and run the trial version of CR Server XI R2 and continually received this same error with that install. I have removed the package completely and re-installed multiple times but each time get this same error at the final step.
Any help would be great, we've tried reaching out to the Customer Email Support for BO and phone number since Monday and finally yesterday we were told we had to come to this forum to get assistance.

PI 7.10 Problem applying NetWeaver_ORA (Standard) License Key in ABAP

We are attempting to license our PI 7.10 (Windows 2003 /64 on Oracle
10.2.0.4) installation, but are having problems. This is a dual stack
installation (of course) and I have downloaded the requested license from
service.sap.com. This is license type Standard (NetWearver_Ora). The
license installs correctly and shows as valid in slicense, but in the
area above the Installed Licenses in the Database, it shows RED for
NetWeaver_Ora and says, "A valid license key for this software product is
required to operate this system."
When attempting to logon as a user other than sap*, we get a license
failure and no logon.
saplicense -get -- returns HARDWARE KEY = 01480339654
Old licenses tab screen is blank (no licenses installed) as I have
deleted the temporary license, thinking that the digital license had
installed correctly.
Digitally-Signed Licenses screen:
(Red traffic signal) NetWeaver_ORA A valid license key for this software
product is required to operate this system
Installed Licenses in the Database
(Green traffic signal) PID 01480339654 NetWeaver_ORA 30.09.2008
31.12.9999 Perm 0020412052 000000000311063393 Valid
No further entries on this screen.

Hi All - This issue was resolved. Basically, I made copies of all the current profiles used by SAP and deleted the old ones. Then, I just simply renamed them to the old profiles names of the ones I just deleted and it seemed to have worked. It was probably one of those quirky things with Windows. Thanks! - Will S.

Requesting permanent license in SMP - Xcelsius 2008

Hi,
I am not able to get into the right path to apply permanent license for Xcelsius 2008 product. I have installed the application using the temporary license I got from the excel link available in SMP.
Do I need to provide any "SID" to request license like other SAP Products. But while installing Xcelsius 2008 I have not given any SID for that installation.
I have worked on many SAP ERP and Netweaver products. But I feel license applying for BO products is little different. Please help me on this.

Hello Ron.
If the trial keycode works, that means the keycode you have might be expired or invalid.
Is this happening on all computers or just one?
My suggestion would be to get a clean computer, login as an ADMINISTRATOR, stop any anti-virus running (this could stop from updating any registry keys) and then install Xcelsius.
