XI 7.0 (PI 7.0) PDF Guides

Does any of you have or know where to get the new documentation (How to...) on the lastest XI release?
We are planning to implement XI on NW2004s version, and are doing research on the subject. I am interested in the architecture planning,  installation guide, post-installation guide and configuration guide.
I would appreciate it if you could email me ([email protected]) or update this thread with the information.
Thanks in advance.
Bill

Hi Bill -
You can find most of the documents you're looking for on Service Marketplace at the following link:  http://service.sap.com/installnw2004s .  Check near the bottom as well.
One thing to keep in mind is that NetWeaver starting with the SAP NetWeaver 2004s release is being portrayed more and more as one product as opposed to individual components.  The documents you find reflects this.  So the installation guide for ABAP+Java for example is the guide for NetWeaver as a whole on a particular OS/DB platform.

Jin

    hi all
    I need to disassembly this laptop, anybody have a pdf guide to look before?

    Hi
    Such technical guides are not known to me. I think they are only available for authorized service providers and not for public.
    If you need assistance to disable this notebook you should contact the authorized service provider in your country. The technicians can help you! :)

  • PDF Guide line color?

    When I am working in a PDF is there a way to change the color of the guide lines from yellow?  I know you can do this in pages.  Yellow is hard to see.

    It looks like you might be using CC, in which case CC 2014.2.2 has a very cool, New Guide layout panel
    If you are using CS6 (or CC for that matter) there is the excellent free GuideGuide extension panel.  Both would be helpful if you use a lot of guides.

  • PDF guide download page

    Just trying to finish up the new site, thanks for anyone that help test it and the emails to fix stuff.
    Just wanted to let Aperture users know that there is an Aperture article download page. Check it out.
    http://rwboyer.blogdns.com/
    RB
    If you get a chance help exercise it a bit. Thanks

    The site looks nice, professional and attractive. The content is considered, mature and useful. I like to learn a bit more about Aperture each day (it's a big subject) and you touch on some interesting topics for me to follow up.
    There is a typo in the story about the sttaion 'bin' instead of been. Sorry, such things are like fingernails on a blackboard to me.
    I downloaded the Aperture guide. It seemed to take a long time for 15 pages. I will printer it out once the printer has warmed up.
    Overall I will bookmark the site.
    And you must have been up late.

    Go to the apple website and select support. Select Manuals then enter "Numbers" in the search box.

  • Creating PDF Buyer Guides

    I'm working on an engagement ring affiliate site and hoping I can get some advice. From an SEO stand point is there a rel canonical format I can recreate a duplicate version of a buyer guide as a downloadable pdf without causing duplicate content problems? Obviously I'd like to share the pdf guide with links back to the html article as a way of generating traffic, is that sufficient or is there an adobe formatting option I can use to avoid problems?

    OK fine it was added for context, it's a nofollow forum link not exactly a worthwhile SEO tactic!! My question remains however. I'm worried about the possibility of the pdf outranking the actual articles and being treated as duplicate content. Can anyone provide more helpful advice?

  • Having trouble reducing PDF file size on export

    Hi, I recently switched from Quark to InDesign and am having trouble figuring out how to reduce the size of a PDF on export.
    The file has about 200 pages with about 300 EPS files, which are approximately 30-40K each. The file uses fewer than 10 fonts, all from two font families (Bembo Std and Univers Std). When I created a similar file in Quark, the exported PDF is ~5MG. However, when I export the file I created in InDesign, the PDF is 10xs larger (~50MG). I tried exporting using the High Quality Print and Smallest File Size settings, but the result was the same. (I think that is because there are no JPG images to compress, just vector files which are already tiny.)
    If you have any suggestions for other settings to check, I would be grateful for the help. Overall, other than this issue, I have been extremely happy with InDesign.
    I am using CS5, v 7.0.4 on Mac OS X (10.6.8, Snow Leopard)
    Thank you,
    SH

    Quark to the best of my knowledge still goes the Postscript to PDF route - I'm not 100% sure on that.
    But here's why Export is differetn than how you print to Postscript and distill http://indesignsecrets.com/creating-pdf-export-or-use-distiller.php
    Distilling is very much frowned upon, and Export from InDesign is considered the best workflow.And the file size is larger, but it does add a lot of important information to the PDF, which makes it superior than distilling.
    But, there's a lot of document overhead in PDFs.
    The High Quality setting is only meant as a guide.  It's not meant to be used, in my opinion, out of the box.
    This explains why and how to counter it.
    http://indesignsecrets.com/document-overhead-in-indesigns-pdf-can-be-huuuuuuge.php
    The Help files do give some clues
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/InDesign/6.0/WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751001ea8cb3f-70b3a.html
    This PDF guide is MUST http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/cs3/articles/cs3_printguide.html
    And besides that EPS files are considered legacy files by Adobe, I'm not sure how they're handled on PDF export. But you'd be better off saving to .ai from illustrator from now on.
    http://www.prepressure.com/library/file-formats/eps
    Instead of EPS from photoshop - save as TIFF or PSD if all Raster. If it's raster + vector text layers, shapes or masks then save to PDF.

  • Fonts and Mac OS 10.6.5 Snow Leopard - any guide available?

    FONTS: I am trying to find an Apple pdf guide or information on how to work with Fonts, where they are stored etc. For example - in HD/Library/Fonts I have 185 items - of which 184 are fonts; and 1 is a Microsoft fonts folder, in which there are 131 items - all fonts - some which are duplicates (exact??) of the other 184 fonts in the fonts folder.
    Then there are NO fonts in /scschulte(user)/Library/Fonts but 4 files that seem to contain information about fonts.
    There are protected fonts in the system folder/Library/Protected fonts;
    There are disabled fonts folders and font collection folders...
    even fonts in iMovie!
    How to manage this, reduce the number without causing problems; how to know when to use / keep a Microsoft font vs another etc. etc....?!
    Thanks for any info here-- and is this similar (or exactly the same) in SL as in Leopard?? (I have the Missing Manual for Leopard, but not Snow Leopard).
    Best regards,

  • Add hyperlink in a page to direct to a .pdf report in oracle ADF jdeveloper

    Hi,
    I want to put a hyperlink, which will direct the user to the report. but I am getting the problem with, "where should I put the pdf file" any help please???
    here is my code:
    <a target="_blank" href="/faces/DocumentationKNM.pdf">Guide Book</a>
    what should be the href?

    Well, this obviously depends on where the pdf report  is on your server and if it's accessible from the web application. For this it must be somewhere in the web root of your application. To access the report somewhere else on the server you can implement a servlet and stream the report from there.
    Summary: we need to describe your use case in more detail.

  • Why doesn't latest version of pdf have a visible signature, only blank fields

    I'm C# user and tried both createUrlWidget and createPersonalUrlWidget to send a test document, and after it signed by signer, I used both getLatestDocument and getDocuments, but only get a pdf without seeing signature like this:
    I can get signed doc using the link in email sent to signer:
    So, I'm confused, can anybody answer me where did I missed?
    1. the method I used to create url widget:
    public static bool createUrlWidget(string fileName)
                FileStream file = File.OpenRead(fileName);
                com.echosign.secure.FileInfo[] fileInfos = new com.echosign.secure.FileInfo[1];
                fileInfos[0] = new com.echosign.secure.FileInfo(fileName, null, file);
                SenderInfo senderInfo = null;
                //string[] recipients = new string[1];
                //recipients[0] = recipient;
                RecipientInfo[] recipients = new RecipientInfo[1];
                recipients[0] = new RecipientInfo();
                recipients[0].email = "[email protected]";
                RecipientRole role = new RecipientRole();
                role = RecipientRole.SIGNER;
                recipients[0].role = role;
                WidgetCreationInfo widgetInfo = new WidgetCreationInfo();
                widgetInfo.name = "Test Docx";
                widgetInfo.fileInfos = fileInfos;
                //widgetInfo.counterSigners = recipients;
                WidgetPersonalizationInfo personInfo = new WidgetPersonalizationInfo();
                personInfo.comment = "Test sign of doc";
                personInfo.email = recipients[0].email;
                personInfo.reusable = false;
                UrlWidgetCreationResult result = ES.createPersonalUrlWidget(APIKey, senderInfo, widgetInfo, personInfo);// ES.createUrlWidget(APIKey, senderInfo, widgetInfo);
                if (result.success)
                    DocumentKey2 = result.documentKey;
                    urlWidgetReturn = result.url;
                else
                    return false;
                return true;
    2. the method I get the documents, there's only 1 content in returned DocumentContent[]:
    public static void getDocuments(string documentKey)
                GetDocumentsOptions opts = new GetDocumentsOptions();
                //opts.versionKey = "latest version";
                //opts.participantEmail = "[email protected]";
                opts.combine = true;
                opts.attachSupportingDocuments = true;
                GetDocumentsResult result  = ES.getDocuments(APIKey, documentKey, opts);
                if (result.success)
                    DocumentContent[] contents = result.documents;
                    foreach (DocumentContent dc in contents)
                        FileStream file = File.OpenWrite(string.Format("c:\\{0}.pdf", Guid.NewGuid()));
                        file.Write(dc.bytes, 0, dc.bytes.Length);
    This is my first time to use this api, so maybe I missed some important steps to cause this. I appreciate anybody which could see this and help me.
    Thanks a lot!
    Kenny

    I figured it out myself, I should use the shorter keys parsing from formDataCsv in GetFormDataResult to retrieve the latest version.

  • Problem with nesting repetitive groups, using PDF as template

    We are trying to use a pdf file (Acrobat 5.0) as a template for BI Publisher reports.
    Our report uses as a data source a xml file (facturas.xml) with data from several bills.
    In each bill, there are areas where multiple lines must be displayed. We use the tag BODY_START/BODY_END to define the area of repetition for the lines.
    The problem arises when we want to nest two or more BODY_START/BODY_END. In this case the fields are displayed outside the place where they were defined.
    We do not know the way to do it and the syntax for nesting repetitive groups.
    BI Publisher Version: Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1
    Plattform: Windows 2003 R2 64 bits.
    Acrobat: Using Acrobat 5.0 file format.
    Editor: Adobe Acrobat 9, saving as 5.0 file format.

  • Exporting Interactive PDF with MP4 File

    I am trying to export a file from InDesign for work.  We send out daily email with PDFs from InDesign and would like to include from training videos.  How can we include the MP4 format video so we can watch them in the PDF we send out.  I've read through the Interactive PDF guides and forums.  A still image of the first frame of the video appears, we can't get it to play.
    Thanks!
    Adam

    While including an MP4 video is good if you know the recipient is using Acrobat/Reader on a desktop computer, the content may or may not work on a tablet or smartphone. I'd go with Wilhelm's suggestion of providing a link.

  • Using pdf as an ebook - compatibility issues

    Hello everyone.
    I am new here and new to ebooks! So I would be grateful for your help.
    I wish to produce a pdf document which can be read online as a kind of ebook. It is a complex document with lots of diagrams as vector images and I want to have links to videos and other media files which are hosted elsewhere online. During my trials I have found that when I create links in Adobe Acrobat, they do not always show up. Also, I am concerned about compatibility issues with browsers and also, of course iPads, but that is another issue, maybe for a different thread.
    Could anyone advise me on the link problem and generally on using a pdf as an ebook (not a "real" ebook, which reflows as this messes up all the positioning of my diagrams)?
    I hope I haven't been too vague.
    Many thanks in advance.
