XI Administration in RWB

Hi Everyone,
What does Adapter Engine, Business Process Engine, Integration engine does exactly in Integration Server and as from the basis/administration part what sholud be monitored.
What will be the process it follows(IE, BPE,Adapter engine) when a message enters the Xi system from an application and  business system.
Regards,
Srinivas

Hi Sunil,
>>What will be the process it follows(IE, BPE,Adapter engine) when a message enters the Xi system from an application and business system.
Have a look at the Blog... <a href="/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/05/25/understanding-message-flow-in-xi Message Flow in XI</a> By Siva Maranani
>>Adapter Engine
The Adapter Engine is used to connect the Integration Engine to SAP systems and external systems. You use the various adapters in the Adapter Engine to convert XML- and HTTP-based messages to the specific protocol and format required by these systems, and the other way around.
>>Business Process Engine
for cross-component integeration
>>Integration engine
The Integration Engine process the XML messages exchanged between applications in heterogeneous system landscapes. Both applications of SAP components and external applications can communicate with the Integration Engine. Using adapters, the Integration Engine can also process IDocs (Intermediate Documents) and RFCs (Remote Function Calls).

  • NW PI 7.3 SP4 AdapterEngine and RWB do not work

    Hi experts,
    i am currently setting up a new NW 7.3 PI Landscape.
    I have setup the Landscape by now successfully and implemented SP4.
    After a succesfull run of the PI ConfigWizard there seems to be a problem of registering the adapter engine and runtime workbench to the sld.
    I am using a local sld installed on the pi itself.
    When i start the rwb i get the following error:
        com.sap.aii.utilxi.sld.XISldException: Invalid Parameter: password = null or empty
    In the LogViewer i see the following error messages:
       Creating CIM client failed. Parameter password is empty
    The user SLD_DS_<SID> also gets regularly locked.
    I have triple checked all settings in the ExchangeProfile / JCO RFC Dest und HTTP Destinations
    So it seems there are at some point credentials missing.
    But i'm not able to find it. I have also opened a case at sap support but till now no response.
    Maybe some of you had a similiar problem and can give me an advice.
    Any advice is highly appreciated.

    Hi Thomas
    Try out the below;
    Please check if service property 'com.sap.aii.ibrep.core.usage_type' of
    J2EE primary-service "com.sap.aii.utilxi.cfg.svc" was by mistake
    set to "CE" by the WebAS Initial Setup CTC Wizard.
    Start NetWeaver Administrator with http://<host>:<port>/nwa and navigateto 'Configuration > Infrastructure > Java System Properties.'.
    Select the 'Service' tab and search for service name "XPI Service: AII
    Config Service" (component name 'com.sap.aii.utilxi.cfg.svc').
    Change property 'com.sap.aii.ibrep.core.usage_type' back to its default
    value 'XPI'. Save and restart the whole Java stack.
    You may have to run the PI self registration wizard again to see all components in the SLD

  • RWB and internet explorer 7

    Hi.
    Im having trouble getting internet explorer 7 and the RWB to work together.
    Errors popping up are like these:
    'ur_txt' is undefined
    Object expected
    '_htmlbMessageBar' is undefined
    Is it possible at all to run RWB with IE7 or do I have to reinstall an older version.
    A fix would be prefered
    Regards Peter

    Hi Peter,
    If you need to get IE7.0 supported on SP lower than 19 (NW04) or 10 (NW04S), use this note: 991449
    If an earlier version of Web Dynpro is used, there are two possibilities
         to enable IE7 for Web Dynpro. The two possibilities will be discussed in
         the following:
             o  Change configuration of supported clients:
                ==========================================
                Open Visual Administrator. On the relevant server instance,
                navigate to "Services -> Configuration Adapter". In the detail
                view, a tree becomes visible. Navigate to "webdynpro -> sap.com
                -> tcwddispwda -> "Propertysheet clients". Open this
                propertysheet in edit mode by pressing the "Edit" button on the
                toolbar. Change following two properties in the propertysheet
                wizard:
                -  property "clienttypes":
                   default value is: "msie6|op6|msie5|ns7|safari|java|win|ecatt"
                                                                           Page 2
                   change value to: "op6|msie5|msie6|ns7|safari|java|win|ecatt"
                -  property "msie6.recognition":
                   default value is: "MSIE 6."
                   change value to: "MSIE"
                Having done this, close the wizard and press again the "Edit"
                button to save the changes. Afterwards, a restart of the engine
                is required in order to make these changes effective. The Web
                Dynpro runtime should then be able to allow the usage of
                Microsoft IE7 as browsers.
    Hope this helps, if not upgrade to the supported support packs.
    Thanks,
    Van Vi

  • In XI no adapters are visible RWB  and the error "AE_DETAILS_GET_ERROR"

    In XI no adapters are visible in the RWB  and I get the error "AE_DETAILS_GET_ERROR"<BR>
    It happens after a database copy from PRD to QAS.<BR>
    I tried restarting the system, and checked the SLD content. Also the cash is refreshed.<BR>
    The standard after care actions are carried out, like: SXMB_ADM, SMICM, SE06, STMS, Exchange Profile, SM59, RZ20 and RZ21, SLD content, SLDAPICUST and RZ70.
    Thanks in advance

    When in XI no adapters are visible RWB  or you get the error "AE_DETAILS_GET_ERROR" I have several steps for this:
    <P>
    Check that all adapters are running in the Visual Administrator (under services)
    <P>
    Make sure the RFC's to the SLD (SAPSLDAPI) and Exchange profile (LCRSAPRFC) are maintaint correct in SM59.<BR>
    Check this also with transaction SLDcheck
    <P>
    Make sure the correct URL is maintaint in SXMB_ADM > Integration Engine configuration<BR>
    This should be like : http://hostname:80nr/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    Check the settings with F7.
    <P>
    Check the users and passwords in the ExchangeProfile.<BR>
    <P>
    Check the users and passwords in SAP (check for locked users with RSUSR200).<BR>
    <P>
    Check the users and passwords in the SLD if this is a standalone (check for locked users).<BR>
    Try logging on with all XI users in the useradmin of the SLD (http://hostname:5nr00/useradmin)<BR>
    Sometimes a new password must be set. You can set it directly to the old password.<BR>
    <P>
    If there is a problem that not all XI components are shown in the SLD: see note 764176
    <P>
    If there is a problem between the function module SAI_AE_DETAILS_GET (line 241 adapaterType) and the SLD
    <P>
    (class browser > tab LD > XI Adapter Service : it shows AdapterType).<BR>
    In this case create a repair in the function module by editting it and transport it to the other XI  systems.
    <P>
    Restart XI
    <P>
    Perform a cache refresh:<BR>
       http://hostname:5nr00/CPACache/refresh?mode=full<BR>
       use the XIDIRUSER user
    <P>
       http://hostname:5nr00/rwb/rtc?op=init<BR>
       use the XIRWBUSER user
    <P>
       SAP transaction SXI_CACHE > start complete cache refresh (shift F6)<BR>
    <P>
    Sometimes a restart of the service SAP XI AF messaging is nessesary.<BR>
    You can perform this restart via the Visual Administrator<BR>
    <P>
    If all does not work: check if the content is up to date.<BR>
    Sometimes after a patchlevel upgrade, the XI basis content is forgotten.<BR>
    Importing the XI Content for Software Component Version SAP Basis 6.40 SR1:<BR>
    Copy XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_<PATCHNR>_00.tpz to directory <BR>
    <P>
    /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/xi/repository_server/import/<BR>
    Goto the the XI Repository (Design).<BR>
    Choose ? Tools ? Import Design Objects<BR>
    Choose the file XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_<PATCHNR>_00.tpz<BR>
    Import the file
    <P>
    Check if the XI services in SICF are active.<BR>
    Activate them with : SE38 > RSXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES<BR>
    <P>
    Transaction SUPC (mass generation of roles) for all SAP_XI* roles.<BR>
    And perform a User comparison in transaction PFCG for all SAP_XI_* rolles<BR>
    <P>
    User comparision (via SU01 > PISUPER > dubbelclick on each roll)<BR>
    <P>
    Check the CIM content of the SLD.<BR>
    This is very intensive work.<BR>
    Check and compare with a correct running XI/PI system the content.<BR>
    SLD > Administration > Content Management<BR>
    Check and compare all components that have associasions!!!<BR>
    <P>
    Perform a complete cache refresh via URL:<BR>
    http://hostname:5nr00/rep/start/index.jsp<BR>
      Administration > Repository > Cache overview<BR>
      Administration > Directory > Cache overview<BR>

  • HTTP request failed. Error code: "503". Service Unavailable in RWB and Cache Refresh

    Dear Experts,,
    We have MDM and PI in our landscape. We are using MDM Adapter for the integration between the two.
    When we try to run the T Code SXMB_IFR, we are getting HTTP request failed error. i.e., “Error Code: 503 -- Service Unavailable”. And also the RWB communication channel is not working because of this error and we are unable to refresh the cache too because of this error.
    We have checked from MDM side, and messages are flowing from ready folder but not coming into PI. We had monitored the messages using
    SXMB_MONI.
    We have restarted the Java Server but it’s taking too much time to restart around 12 to 15 hours & we checked after that but still facing the same issue.
    Could you please help me to figure out this issue.
    Thank you for your support in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Priti.

    Hi Priti,
    You can check the suggestion of Jyothi Anagani
    Because of J2EE application com.sap.aii.af.ms.app not active
             The problem is that not all J2EE services can be started by the J2EE. i.e Start the Visual Administrator and select Server->Services->Deploy in the tree on the left. On the right-hand side, choose the Runtime tab page. You see a tree in the right window with all applications if you select the APPLICATION radio button. Check if they are running, otherwise choose Start. Usually the J2EE engine starts all services automatically.

    Hi Senthil,
    As suggested by others there is no problem with your communication channels ,,, the problem you face is because Your DBA has initiated the SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE command. This will shutdown Oracle and terminate all active operations.
    Please tell him to start the services and Wait until Oracle has been restarted by your DBA.

  • Error in SOAP sender CC. Channel stopped by administrative task.

    I am getting an error in my SOAP sender communication chanel as follows;
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: XIAdapterFramework:GENERAL:com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Channel stopped by administrative task.
    The channel is Active but still gets the same error. Any help would be appriciated.

    RWB ---> Component Monitoring ---> Adapter Engine ---> Communication Channel Monitoring ---> Choose your CC and check its properties....check if it shows Channel Stopped...if yes then restart it.
    Channel should be Active in ID and Started in RWB to work properly.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Decentral Adapter not showing up in RWB

    I have just installed a J2ee Decentral Adapter instance, configured the exchange profile to connect back to the main PI instance and connected it to the SLD (both the J2ee Decentral Adapter and main PI instance use the same SLD).
      One of the last steps is to check see if the Decentral Adapter shows up in the PI Instances Runtime Work Bench (RWB), but it does not.
      I've noticed that on the SLD, the J2ee Decentral Adapter shows up as a Technical System, but when going to the SLD > Administration > Content Maintenance > All Instances > Class: XI Adapter Framework, that only my main PI instances show up, not the recently installed J2ee Decentral Adapter.
      Anybody have any ideas of what else to check ?
    Thanks..SB

    Aaron,
    1.1 SAP XI AF CPA Cache are set at the defaults of the install.  The SLDAccess is set to true which according to the following SAP Help doc says that the entris are ignored: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/29/22ee41c334c717e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    1.2 SLD DATA Supplier is set correctly.  I can do a CIM Test and trigger the data upload successfully.   Still no entry under the Content Maintenance though.
    2. SXI_CACHE > Adapter Engine still does not show the Decentral Adapter.  I've even bounced both systems and the SLD.
    per Chirag I've also double checked blog "Basic Steps In Decentralized Adapter Engine
    This Decentral adapter is in DMZ #1, so I must use the IP of my SLD for the SLD access and my Main PI is in DMZ #2.  I've checked to make sure ports 50000 and 3300 from Decentral to my PI system work - are there any other ports ?
    Thanks...Scott B.

  • In the rwb adapter monitoring the JDBC Adapter always grey

    Hi all
    I try to use JDBC Adapter in XI 3.0 sp14.
    First I deploy the MS SqlServer JDBC by SDM RemoteGui.I can see the deployed JDBC package in \j2ee\cluster\server0\bin\ext\com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib.
    Then I create a communication Channel using JDBC 2.0 in a Business System and active the configuration.
    But when I monitor JDBC Adapter in the rwb, I find the JDBC Adapter is always grey.In the \server0\log\services\com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.svc, no log shows the jdbc adapter is initial.
    So what extended configuration shall i do.
    Thanks in advanced
    Elliott

    hi Alessandro,ravi:
    Thanks for your reply. I will describe detail.
    I use a file adapter as a sender and use a JDBC adapter as a receiver.
    In the sxmb_moni I find the processed message status is successful.
    So I think the integration server works fine.
    In the message monitoring, the message is waiting status.
    If I change the receiver adapter to file adapter.
    It works fine.So I think the process config is fine and the itegration server works fine. the error is in the receiver JDBC adapter side.
    I check the default trace, <b>there is error logs</b>:
    #com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.impl.core.queue.ReceiveConsumer
    #sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.ms.app

    In the adapter monitoring, JDBC Adapter icon is grey. I
    can't click for detail information. I only deploy the
    JDBC drivers by SDM remoteGui. What else shall I do.
    Btw, Can you say sth detail about how to test the
    deployed JDBC adapter on visual administrator?

  • RWB - No adapter registered for this channel (JDBC)

    Hi Experts,
    All my JDBC communication channels have the following log in RWB:
    No adapter registered for this channel
    When executing an interface, SXMB_MONI shows:
    Object not found in lookup of SapXIJDBCAdapterService
    We have aready performed a CPACache refresh as mentioned on another threads but the problem persists.
    I performed dummy changes in the CC and even created a new one but the log still remains the same.
    Please advise what else can be done to solve the issue. We are using PI 7.1.
    Regards,
    Daniela

    Hello,
    Try checking in the Netweaver Administrator if the JDBC service is running?
    There is also a dependency of modules in between the SapXIJDBCAdapterService and SapXIFileAdapterService. Please check that the File Adapter service is started also.

    Sarah

  • RWB PMI Data Problem

    Hi, Everyone
    I having problem in XI 3.0 SP20 RWB end-to-end monitoring, data does't show at all
    I checked pretty much all configuration about Trobleshooting end-to-end monitoring Notes: 885405, and 1138909
    1. RSXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES all services activiated through run report
    2. logon group PUBLIC
    3. Authorizations: SAP_BC_BASIS_Monitoring and SAP_BC_BASIS_ADMIN
    4. Start the PMI service in the Visual Administrator.  com.sap.pmi.Agent
    5. PMI Java agents not active  http:///sap/bc/spi_gate
    7. Jobs are running SPI_TRANSPORT, SPI_REORG_CS, SPI_REORG_PS
    8. PMI_MONITORING parameter is set to 1
    9. Monitoring Level to "Low" in RWB...
    I didn't done that configuration: as blow
    My question is that do we have to done that configration and create RFC connection ?
    Collecting PMI Data
    ===============
    To display data collected by PMI in the Runtime Workbench, you require the following:
    1. A user on the Integration Server to log on to the monitoring server. User with the following authorizations:
    Object: S_RFC
    ACTVT     : 16
    RFC_NAME: SXMS_PMI_DATA, SYST
    RFC_TYPE: FUGR
    2.  An RFC destination to enable you to transfer runtime data from the monitoring server to the Integration Server.
    Name: AI_MONITORING_SERVER
    Connection Type: 3 (connection to R/3 system)
    Under Technical Settings, specify the following values:
    Target machine: Name or IP address of the server on which PMI is installed
    System number: Number of the system on which PMI is installed
    Under Logon/Security, specify the following values:
    Client: Client in which PMI is configured
    User/password: User name and password of the user set up earlier
    3. Two jobs that extract runtime data periodically from the monitoring server and transfer it to the Integration Server:
         This RFC destination is optional. You only need to create it if you want to display performance data collected in PMI in the  Runtime Workbench.
    Job name: SAP_XMB_EXTRACT_PMI_DATA
    Job class: C
    Under Start condition ® Date/Time, specify the following period:
    Period: 15 minutes
    Choose Step ® ABAP Program and specify the following:
    Step: SXMS_PMI_EXTRACT_PMI_DATA
    4. This job transfers the runtime data that has been extracted on the monitoring server to the Integration Server and can display the data in the performance monitoring of the Runtime Workbench.
    Job name: SAP_XMB_GET_PMI_DATA
    Job class: C
    Choose Start condition ® Date/Time, and specify the following period:
    Period: 15 minutes
    Choose Step ® ABAP Program and specify the following:
    Step: SXMS_PF_GET_PMIDATA
    Please Advised
    thanks

    Dear Yoganand ,
        this question is out of curiosity . in our company we are using ECC  6.0 with ABAP engine alone . when i came across this thread i the "Runtime Workbench" was a very new word and hence i tried ti run the transaction SXI_CACHE given in the thread to knew what is that .
    i got a "XI runtime cache " screen with status of cache showing in RED .
    my doubt is that how is that XI feaurures are available with ABAP alone systems ?
    will this cache be active(green) if there would have been JAVA engine also ?
    please throw some idea on this , which would be of great use to us
