XI and BW psa

Hi all,
I'm using XI to push data to PSA table in BW according to the pdf
"How Tou2026Integrate XI and BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s"
My problem is that the psa request remains yellow.
Is it normal? Should I have only 1 request?
or should I get a separated request for each load?

Hi All
My problem is solved!
The request stays yellow until you close via a process chain.
In the process chain there is a new process type called
"Close Request of InfoPackage (RDA/Push)" in the "Load process and Post-Processing" folder.
It needs to run first on your PC and it closes the open/yellow request,
so all new incoming messages from XI are transferred to a new request and you can continue uploading your data in the BW system with no worries.

Data not matching at RSA3 and in PSA

Hi Guru's
I am loading data from 0FI_AA_12,
When i hv checked at rsa3 selections as Deparea-31,BUKURS- tr01, Fy/period- from 2006001 to 2035012.i can see the record
Deprarea Asset       Compcode        NFAZ   fiscal/period
31     155000008487    TR01         13,90-    009.2006
But when i hav extracted from the Infopack with the same selections i can see in PSA two records.
Deprarea Asset       Compcode        NFAZ   fiscal/period
31     155000008487    TR01         13,90-    009.2006
31     155000008487    TR01         13,90-    006.2006
When i hv checked in the ANLP table i can see the only record for the 009.2006.
in r3 they hav posed the depreciation for only period 7,8and 9 periods.
there are no userexits written on this NFAZ too.
Please help me onthis regards..Anything will be appreciated.

first c the update rules whether all the charachterictics r mapped with the keyfigures. and then activate.

Full load from r/3 failed due to bad data and no psa option selected

SDN Experts,
Full load from R/3 failed loading in to ODS and in the infopackage on psa selected. how to fix it? can i rerun the infopackage again to load from R/3? May be it will fail again? is this a design defect?

Hi,
There is obsolutely no prob. in re executing the package, but before that, check
your ODS and Info Source is re active and update rules are also active if any..
and you can check the option of target info provider selected properly along with
the PSA option and also check whether you have any subsequent process like
updating data from ODS to Cube and so on..
You can also check the data availability at R/3 for the respective DS by executing
RSA3.

Need to get a list of PSA tables and change log tables existing in a PC

Is there a standars table to look up all active DSOs and the change log tables associated to those DSOs?
and also Data sources and the PSA tables associated to that DS.
I need to get a list of PSA tables and change log tables existing in a processchain(whioch deletes the data in them time to time)how do I do this in a quicker way?

Can not view data in a request from psa

Dear experts,
I have a problem with data in psa. If a select a mange of PSA, I see some request. I select one of them to see data. But there is no data. How is it possible?
If you delete a reques from psa, that request desappears from the psa, doesn't it?

it dosn't work. The problem is that you can see different green requests in manage from psa, but it is not possible to see internal data.
If I try to see data with se16 and the psa table, there are data for one request, but not for request that i need.
any idea? is very important to rescue this request.

Issue when doing Delta loads from PSA to DSO using DTP - Pls help Urgent

Hi All,
I have done 3 data loads into PSA and from PSA, iam loading the data into DSO - by splitting that load into 3 using 3 DTPs. (Split that by Fiscal Period).
2 of the DTP loads are extracting the data from 3 PSA requests.
But, one of the DTP load is filtering on ONE PSA request.
So, we are not getting the full data into DSO.
Can some one pls help me why the DTP load is beheaving like this ???
Even though i have not given any filters for Request id, still , for one load its picking up the data by filtering on One Req ID.

I think i found the solution, the diff between the DTP's is i ahve ticked " Get request one after another " .

How do I find contents of PSA in BI 7.0

I am using BI 7.0. How do I find contents of PSA? Only way I found:
1. Go to Monitor, Select the Request, Go to Detail tab, right Click to get Context Menu and select PSA maintenance. Is there a transaction code to get to PSA or other ways of getting to PSA?

Go to RSA15-->go to your data source>right click>manage->select the request you want to see in PSA, select the psa icon in the left bottom cornerSelect ok.
Go to RSA15-->go to your data source->double click your data source-->on the application toolbar, there is an icon to switch on the technical attributes->click the icon->There will be an alphanumeric table name as PSA table->doucle click it ->On the application toolbar there is contents icon->run(after selections).
Go to infopackage monitor on the application toolbar there is PSA icon. Click it to see the contents of the PSA loaded by this request.
For you previous SQL eror while executing infopackage for loading copy cube.
Try loading data with selections in infopackage. May be you are trying to fetch more data than the ABAP program used for loading at the background can handle.

Transfer of Data from PSA to ODS

Dear All,
I have been pulling data from R/3 to BW.I go to the infosource and schedule with data only to PSA.First to PSA and from PSA right click and "update immediately to ODS". When I choose that option the the data would begin to load into ODS , beginning with the concerned request being added in the ODS list of request(Manage). But today when I pulled data it successfully came to the PSA but when I chose "update immediately to ODS" option the PSA traffic light changed to yellow but the no request seems to be added to the concerned ODS in "Manage".

Hi,
In this case there must not be any processing of record from PSA to target. You started the job but it was cancelled within few seconds. Check the status of your job under sm37.
Now, if neither it is active nor present in DSO then select the request in PSA click on amber icon, under monitor turned that technical status in to Red and try to load it again from PSA.

Data in RSA3 does not match data in PSA

We recently added a new field (character 40) to our 0customer_attr extractor and are populating it in a user exit. When we execute the extractor in RSA3, the field is populated correctly. However, when we run an actual extraction to BW, the data in this field is not transferred to the PSA correctly. The PSA field is also a character 40 field. In some cases the data in this field is truncated, only the first 12 characters are transferred. At other times only the second half of the field is transferred into the PSA. It is as if something is out of synch between the extract structure and the PSA.
I have replicated the datasource several times and have also reactivated the transfer rules several times. I also tried removing the field from the tranfer structure and reactivating the transfer rules and then readded the field and reactivated. I am not certain what else to try.

Put a break point in the user exit and load the particular record which is getting truncated and see what is actually happening. And once again make sure the field in both BI and R3 is identical in length and type.

Your data is in lowercase.. either change the data to UPPERCASE from source..
or delete the request in cube and edit PSA data from lowecase to UPPER CASE if they are few records only.
or make the infoobject setting lowecase checked,

PSA SE 3 install preparation questions

I am looking at my brother's computer which has PSA2 Starter Edition 2 downloaded but never used. My thoughts are that it would be best to uninstall PSA SE 2, then download and install PSA SE 3 and import his new photos to PSA SE 3.
He has XP Home SP2 on a Pentium 4, only 256 MB RAM but plenty of hard drive space available. Because of the limited RAM and the fact that he is new to digital photos, I eliminated the possiblity of giving him a Photoshop Elements 4 that I no longer need.
I know Photoshop Album 2 and Photoshop Elements, but have never used the Starter Edition:
1 - To unintall PSA SE2 - I suspect I should use the Control Panel > Add and Remove programs. Correct?
2 - Is there any documentation available as a PDF file for PSA SE 3?
3- Any tips about the PSA SE 3 download, install and registration that I should know?
4 - Can anyone suggest a way to verify the ODBC - MS Database code on this PC before downloading and using PSA SE 3?

1)Correct, you can uninstall PSA SE2 from Control Panel > Add and Remove programs.

For further queries about SE 3.0 you can post your problem on this forum as well.
3) PSE SE 3.0 download is free. You'll be allowed to use product for 26 launches without registration. After this you need to register yourself. Not Able to Update the PSA Request.

Hi All,
I am facing one Problem I am having 10 requests in my PSA.9 requests are updated in to my Data Target but last 10th request is having some erroneous records which I didnu2019t notice that error records next day I have seen the error request in PSA then I have corrected those erroneous records. Now I am not able to update this request to my data target.
When I went through the PSA manage tab there I have selected the erroneous request and when I press the button Update with Scheduler that is going to the Info Package Screen there I am not able to see my data target. When I start the info package its giving error (Data Target is not defined)
My data target is contain the Aggregates is there any issue with the Aggregates.
Any one please advise on this how to update this error request.

check your authorization, it seems you have only loading authorization not deleting.
creat one more infopackge and select PSA and datatarget option try loading using this infopackage.

Unable to delete PSA data through process chain.

Hi Everyone,
I have got a problem in PSA deletion. We have got few PSA and change log deletion jobs which run at daily or fortnight basis. We planned to add few PSA tables to each daily and fortnight jobs depending on requirement.
We added in development and could see jobs deleting PSAs properly. Now on transporting to testing, we could see that PSA tables are not being deleted and there is no change in data. We have checked the PSA table names properly, in table RSTSODS and confirmed PSA is given properly only.
Anyone faced this problem or have idea about this issue, please let us know and suggest us.

Just check for the PSA requests as below:
Go to PSA in RSA1/ RSA1OLD -
> Select the PSA -
> Settings -> Display selection for PSA tree -> give start date and end date or any other selecetions as per your requirement-> it will show you all the details.

Errors In PSA

I am getting errors in PSA when Loading Master data
The errors are
1.ZACTPAR : Data record 77 ('000300000089 '):
Version 'Rebserve FM ' is not valid RSDMD 194
2.Value 'Rebserve FM ' for characteristic ZACTPAR
contains invalid characters RRSV 7
Can some body tell me what the prob is and how to solve it

Hi Vasu
You can see this erroraneous value in PSA maintenance RSA1-> PSA and here select your requst and edit PSA.
Please check if the value 'Rebserve FM' is not valid value for your characteristic ZACTPAR. You can get change this value in PSA and then re-load. Prior to this discuss this with R/3 people and get confirmation of this value.
If this issue is with invalid characters (hash like wired characters) then refer to this thread
