XI and R/3 System connection settings for IDOC to File scenerio.

Hi SAP champs,
I am working on a IDOC to File XI scenerio. But I am confused while configuring connection settings at XI system and R/3 system. I am finding problem in transaction IDX2 to maintain the IDOC metadata. Please let me know the complete step by step system cofigurations in XI and R/3 systems for the scenerio. Thanks in advance..
Regards
Sanjeev.

Hi Sanjeev,
We upload Medata in IDX2 to just reduce runtime effort and hence to improve the performance. However it is not a mandetory step to be performed for R/3 TO XI scenario.
You are confused just because here you dont find any F4 help to select the metadata and the PORT.
Thanks
Sunil Singh

I have Firefox 3.6 on my Mac OSX 10.6.5 and it will not save settings for igoogle or my password for googlemail or hotmail. Can you help?

    Very weird day in Firefoxland
First on a Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 I respond to an invitation to upgrade to Firefox 4 (like a lot of others). Long story short, I wind up losing the browser altogether -- including all bookmarks. Why? Because neither the Firefox homepage (or CNET downloads) makes it clear that 4.0 is for OS 10.5 only! Amazing!
Then I try to register to post a reply in a thread that crits Firefox for not making this System Requirements info upfront clear. But the Register page I’m taken to (https://support.mozilla.com/bs/users/register) is in SERBO-CROATIAN!!
Then I try to log into Chat a couple of times and when it’s not CLOSED its a long line waiting and THEN it closes.
WOW!! Are the wheels off the wagon here or what!?!

    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)

  • Error : Pre Settings for IDoc inbound processing are missing error

    Hi Experts,
There is a CRM job which executes LSMW and I am facing a strange problem during the IDOC posting the error "Pre Settings for IDoc inbound processing are missing error". Can anyone please tell me how to correct this error?
    Thanks in advance.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

    Target field is Rate.
    Mapping rule is as follows.
zero when Condiditon type (E1EDP05-KSCHL ) = YCSE  ( enter total 15 digits without any decimal in it. The last 2 digits will be treated as digits after decimal )
    Can someone explain the mapping?

  • System Landscape settings for EP connecting to SAP Webdisp to ess/mss

We have external facing portal . for reverse proxy we are using sap webdispatcher.
    sapwebdispatcher->ep->sapwebdispatcher--->HCM(ess/mss)
EP connects to HCM(ess/mss) via sap webdispatcher.
What should be my system landscape defination in Portal and JCo destinations for webdynpro where ep and webdynpro is connecting to backend(ess/mss) via sap webdispatcher.
My guess is instead of message server I should point to sap webdispatcher url then what should be my port for connectors,ITS settings and WebAS settings in system landscape.
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Something like that, with Firewalls and additional web dispatcher for external access to HCM:
    FW                   FW
    FW sapwebdispatcher1-FW-->ep--->sapwebdispatcher3--->HCM(ess/mss)
    FW                   FW            ^
    FW                   FW            |
    FW sapwebdispatcher2-FW----------->|
    FW                   FW
The reason is that EP iview with ITS content requires browser to have direct visibility of ITS backend. You can see it if you trace HTTP requests.
    Regarding system definition in PCD:
Michael is correct about Connector part - you can do direct HCM.
The more important issue is what you will put in "ITS Connection" (and SAP Web AS Connection). It is important to put public hotname/URL of sapwebdispatcher2, otherwise external web browser will have issues.
Another thing: no protocol mix for external URLs. If your EP is accessed via HTTPS, you will have to put HTTPS in ITS connector definition. Otherwise users will see browser warnings. You can do SSL termination on web dispatchers if you want and use HTTP from DMZ web dispatchers, but definition of external URLs should be protocol consistent.

  • EP 7.0 and Back End System Connection + Management

    Hello All,
I am trying o configure certain Backend system with my Portal System in our landscape. Actually I want to implement a scenario where i can manage all the system via my Portal itself. My backend systems are ECC 5.0 , Solution Manager 3.2 SR1, R/3 4.7 SR1, BW 3.5 & CRM 4.0.
Till now I have configured the SSO between the Portal and the target system. But Now I am confused with how to proceed further for achieving this scenario.
    Please help me ...
    Thanking you in advacnce ...
    Regards,
    Premkishan Chourasia

    Hi Premkishan,
    Check this weblogs
Quick Guide for setting up SSO between EP and R/3
Connecting SAP systems to Enterprise portal with SSO.
You have mentioned that SSO configuration between portal and backend system is done. So you are almost done with CRM part.
You can download the ESS/MSS package from SDN and import into your portal.
This you can get it from SDN. Click on downloads from the top level navigation in sdn. A page is displayed. Click portal content portfolio. In the right hand side panel you click on list of packages. From there choose your correct ESS and MSS package and Keyword search option enter that and search. You will get the downloads.
    Check these urls

  • How to retrieve FTP connection settings for live website? [was: Dreamweaver MX question]

We have a website that is live (and hasn't been edited in 5 years), but we cannot update it because the company no longer owns the computer which had Dreamwewaver MX installed on it and thus all the settings are lost.  I downloaded Dreamweaver MX on another computer and have all of the files for the site, but don't know how to "reconnect" this to the live site.  Can someone please advise?

Once you have all your FTP info, you'll create a new, blank site in DW.
Once that is created, you connect via the Files window (little plug in icon) and choose Get (down arrow). That should prompt you with "Download entire site?" to which you should click "Yes".
That will download the entire current site from your server to your computer's HD. From there, you will simply edit the pages locally, test them in the browsers installed using Preview In Browser, and then upload to the website, overwriting the online files.
DW cannot edit files on your server directly, it's designed to work locally, then upload and overwrite files on the server.

  • Is it possible to save System preference settings for every user that logins to a Mac OS X?

I work at a school and we have iMacs running Mavericks 10.9 in our environment.  We have them binded to our Windows domain so that way students can use their own login to access the Macs.  I have a number of System preference settings that I would like to take a effect, but I only see that these settings take effect for every user.  So even if I login as the Main administrator account and set settings in System Preferences, such as not allowing the Wifi symbol to show, the next user that logins will still see the wifi symbol because the setting isn't taking effect for their System preferences.  Does anyone know a way to get System Preference settings to take affect for every user that logins? Maybe a script?

Modifying the user template is not supported. You can Google for people who have done it in the past. I would recommend going to official route, if possible. Here are a couple of training documents. I'm sure there is more available though more official channels.

  • Are there any connection settings for using rtsp:...

In my effort to get access in 'YouTube" steaming videos, I tried to find the scope available  in Nokia 3110C handset. After going through the Menu icons, I identified one Menu Item in the path : MAIN MANU>MEDIA>MEDIA PLAYER>GO TO ADDRESS. It is...rtsp://. The help message states ...'Lets you manually enter Web Address...'. I entered : ' rtsp//m.youtube.com. The response was a Note which reads - Check Connection  Settings... Again I followed the above path :  MAIN MANU>MEDIA>MEDIA PLAYER>STREAM SETT. I click the Stream Settings. The nesponsing note : 'No Settings found. Contact your Service  Provider'. So, from the above discussion the net  learning I got is I must have the Stream Settings to get YouTube going in my Set. My querry is : Whare those settings and what is the source in getting those settings ? I understood the rtsp (Real Time Stream Protocol) is more versatile than HTTP and MMS in getting Streaming data (numerical, photograph/radio). Please suggest.

I experienced same problem with my 3110c handset. At first the STREAMING SETT was shadowed dark with a restriction to get access there. Later I got contact with BSNL (my SP). After downloading the settings I discovered that the shadowy patch over Streaming Sett. has gone. It  now shows an entry ..."bsnlstream."
So far an attempt  was made to activate the Youtube, a message reminds me that the software of 3110C is not supporting such application.
