Would you please help? Points guaranteed. Thanks!Ashley you are still not clear to me.
Please mention what applications are these??

Hello everyone,
I have a basic question for you. I'm working in a WM envinornment which involves configuration and customizing, but I never worked on RF environment as it was generally done by another team. But, I'm anxious to know various configurations involved and limitations of "Functional consultant's" role in it. Is the configuration involved the same in RF and RFID enterprise.
Do a functional consultant involved in configuring SAPConsole.
Is the method involved in writing the functional specifications the same for regular SAP transactions and RF enterprise. What is the difference between application of RF and RFID (From SAP's perspective-configuration, is that the same)
Please help me with the understanding of above terms. Hoping for a positive response from you, I take leave

I searched a lot about java card and rfid, but don't have a clear idea about the relationship between the two. Please help me....
They have NO common grounds.
A java card needs a real "smart" processor because it contains a Java Virtual Machine, can do crypto and other stuff. The cost to produce one is in the multi dollar range. Some java cards can communicate contactless by "radio".
RFID is the term to describe a very primitive device, all it can do is report a unique identification (ID) and it does this contactless (RF). the cost to produce one is in the cent range. You can use it to track products or containers or other stuff.
Since RFID is also a very popular buzzword these days, the exact meaning of RFID varies.
Of course, you could use a java card to play RFID tag, but that would be
very expensive. Java cards are usually used for bank cards and similar applications. -
I installed IOUSB family log release osx 10.5.6 on my mac osx 10.5.8. I am trying to log an rfid reader on the usb. Sadly on restart the usb is no longer working. Happily Windows is still running OK. Is there a way to get my usb back working? And is there a way to navigate in Windows to the file I installed and remove it? Any help appreciated.
BDAqua wrote: Does OSX boot at all, or not?
Yes, it does. Right to where I am supposed to log in, but since the USB is not working (either mouse or keyboard), I'm stuck. I have to shut down and restart and boot into windows. -
Represent the real time localization and RFID
Dear java friends
Im student and I’m developing a RFID project using an active tags. My objective in this work is to represent the real time localization of the tags inside a specific plan by calculate the TDoA. Was easy the right the formula however I had hard time to create the plan and I don’t know what way I have to take. I m asking how can I represent my coordinate inside a real plan related to some area like house or factory for example. Can I use some cartography API as GEOTOOLS because they have the same principals? Can I convert the same principals used with the GPS mapping in the RFID plan representation?jschell wrote:

Is there in fact anything to localise at all in the data the reader receives from the RFID chip?RFID is passive. The information is static. So location information would need to be produced from the reader.true. But I question the assumption that the information the reader receives from the RFID is in fact of a nature that requires localisation.
It'll almost certainly be data that can do no more than facilitate a database lookup in order to retrieve the actual data (which may be of a nature that allows localisation of course).
But that's not the reader's job. The RFID reader just reads the RFID and passes the data it retrieves to a processing application.
It's just an interface, and should be kept as stupid as possible.
That application can have a need to localise whatever results from processing the data it gets from the reader (or more likely pass it on to some other system for displaying it to an end user, and only at that stage is localisation called for).
For example, a reader might read a pallet number in a warehouse, and send it to the central processing system to look up the pallet content.
This cargo manifest is then displayed on a palmtop computer belonging to the person using the reader.
The reader itself does not need to know whether the palmtop needs to show English, Russian, or Japanese, neither does the backend database.
Instead the manifest is a series of product codes (and number of items/volume indications) which the user interface application uses to request localised product names from the product database. -
Usage of DATALOGIC JET with MAM25 and RFID
We are evaluating the Datalogic Jet as mobile device for MAM25. We want to us the RFID capabilities too.
It's not clear if the RFID interface provided by Sap on the MAM Cd , the SAP MRI, is usable with this device.
Anyone has some experience ?
regards
R.Mariani, Ao Sys MngIf you are constantly adding data to an Access Database, the database is opened in process and the Access Jet engine will use a cache of memory based on the size of your physical memory.
Microsoft Jet allocates memory on an "as- needed" basis up to an internally calculated high water mark. The idea is to efficiently use the memory in large RAM systems without the need to adjust Registry Settings.
The high water mark (MaxBufferSize) for Jet is calculated by the following formula:
( (((Total Ram in MB - 12)/4 ) * 1024) + 512 ) KB
For example, for a system with 32 MB RAM, Jet uses a calculated MaxBufferSize of 5,632 KB. You can override this value by setting the MaxBufferSize value in the following HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree:
\SOFTWARE\Microso
ft\Jet\x.x\Engines\Jet
For Jet 4.0, the registry location for MaxBufferSize is:
\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Jet 4.0
You may try to see what happens if you do not write any new recores to Access at all. See if you get an increase.
You may consider changing this value from zero to 0x200 (512KB) which should limit Access and allow you to see if any memory outside of Access is being lost.

Only Biztalk RFID Pricing and RFID Store DB on Oracle
Hai,
We have couple of questions related to Biztalk RFID Module
a. We are intend to use only the Biztalk RFID (Server and Mobile). Do we have to purchase entire Biztalk Server license? OR Is there any possibility to purchase only the Biztalk RFID part from the above? If yes, what will the license pricing for only
the Biztalk RFID?
b. RFID Store DB on Oracle
While we are installing the Biztalk RFID module, it provides only SQL server interface to create the RFID Store database. How we can save the RFID Store db on Oracle?
Thanks

RakHi,
SAP XI (Exchange Infrastructure) - Process level integration for various components.
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) - A means of identifying a unique object or person using a Radio Frequency Transmission.
MDM -SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management ensures cross-system data consistency through interactive distribution. It integrates business processes across the extended value chain, delivering features and functions.

RFID tag detection failure on Logout and Login to MI Client
Hi,
We have implemented RFID in our MAM3.0 ; application. Every thing is working fine after login to client and could read the data from the tag. But once logout from the client (by clicking on logout from MI client) and login again, I am unable to read the data from the RFID tag. Seems that it is not connecting to the RFID reader. I am getting CAF exception and RFID read exception.
I am using MI2.5 SP 21 Client
Below is the trace of the exception

After restarting the device, I am able to read the data from RFID tag. Did anyone encounter this kind of error for this particular scenario. Please advise how to resolve this issue.

Dear all, some question about mobile application MAM and RFID.
1) I would like to know how many people is using or tested the MAM25 with RFID and in this case wich devices are you using.
Please specify not only the hw provider (Hp, Dell...) but if possible also the model.
We are making difficult to find out devices supported for RFID with MAM25.
2) For myr goals it's ok also if the RFID reader/writer device is not integrated but it's an handheld model (like the iPen Bt Pro from Microsensys), connected to the mobile device (PDA or Win32 laptop) via bluetooth interface.
Someone has some experience on that ?
I posted a message like that in RFID forum, but I did not recive any feedback. Sorry if it's not the proper forum.
Thanks in advanceOut of MAM 3.0 SR3 release note:
RFID Reader: Only the socket communication card (model 6E) is
presently supported for handheld devices only. This card will
support laptop devices in upcoming MI releases. Refer to note
995387 for additional details.
I think there is a plan to expand the driver base upon request. Socket card works fine in the test environement.
Thank you,
Julien. -
