XI certification - 5 years expereince in ABAP

HI,
I have 5 years of expereince in SAP ABAP? I am interested to learn either XI or BI and want to do certification as well? Can i directly attend the certification exam if i go through online materials ? I do not want to attend any classes for the same. Is there any way by which my compnay cna sponsor for my certification? Can someone throw some light on this pls.

Dear Venkat,
There is no negative marking in the certification exam.
There should be around 80-90 questions which would be divided into different sections e.g. Sales, Billing, Shipping, Master Data, Solution Manager etc.
The questions asked will be optional and true false.
You need 70% to pass the exam otherwise you will be disqualified.

You can contact the education center nearest to ur location, they would guide you how to apply.
They generally ask for 1 year working expereince in the company from which u r applying, but its not mandatory. If u r company sponsred, then no such pre-requisites.
If u have 3 years exp in ABAP then clearing the certification wont be that tough, just follow the 5 books that SAP provides. The certification tests the conceptual knowledge of the candidate.

Requirements for ABAP and XI Certification

I have about 2years of work experience in SAP ABAP and XI .
I have resigned from my company few months back and got relocated to Switzerland.
Im currently looking for SAP jobs here at switzerland and also wanted to complete with my certifications in ABAP/XI depending on the criteria.
I have certain queries that would help me know the criteria to apply for the certification this year.
Here my set of questions , Kindly answer me to all the points below i would be grateful for the same :
1) Are we suppose to give any current working experience from the company.Since i have resigned from the job and dont hold another job yet, can i appear for the certification ?
Can i submit my old experience letters?
2) Is there any other way of appearing for SAP certifications apart from appearing through TechEd.
3) Can I simply pay the money for the certificaton program and pick the exam that i want to appear for?
Please guide me to plan for my certification program.

Eligibility criteria for SAP - ABAP associate certification

Hi,
I'm a S/W Engg.(6months exp in SAP-ABAP) in an Indian firm.
I want to take this certification: SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 because I'm on bench and have got no project.
From what I've gathered by googling, I've to take a course for about 2 months and then i'll be elligble for taking the certification exam or I've got to have an year's experience in a firm in the respective domain.
Now, can't I study on my own and take the above mentioned cert. exam.
How should I go about it. It's a little confusing for me.
It'd really be cool if someone throws even a little light on my topic.

Career transition from ABAP to SD (Certification)

Hi all,
I am posting this question again in the right forum ..
I need some guidance regarding SAP SD certification ... I have 3 years of SAP ABAP implementation and support experience with some of the top notch Consulting companies , now I would like to turn to the functional side of SAP , can you please guide me with this decision of mine in investing into Siemens SAP SD Certification training in terms of ROI is it worth it considering my profile? My 3 years ABAP ex will help me get into 'Techno functional' suit after cert. or I have to start all over again as a fresher in SAP SD ..
Secondly , in terms of growth is SAP SD Cert. the right pick or should i go for SAP HR , APO etc ...

Guidance on ABAP Certification

Hello Everyone,
I have a query regarding ABAP Certification and will be glad if anyone can help me out.
I am a I.T passout with one and half years in programming. I used VB 6 mostly and devoted last few months in .NET.
I have decent knowledge of OOP and its more theoritical than practical. I have developed programs in java but that was in uni few years ago.
Now I am planning to do SAP (ABAP) certification so I have enrolled in course provided by Siemens Information Systems. The course is 25 days and classes are 9 am - 6 pm. After the last day of the course is the certification. I did read about it and people said its not easy and so on.
I have 2 weeks prior to the course so if anyone can tell me what do i need to do so that when i am in course then I am at par with class and do not face any problem ??
I do have ABAP book and material with me. Should i study that now or study oops or what.
Guidance will be appreciated.

I already have 2.5 years exp. in ABAP and planning to do certification.

Switch abap to bi and scope for current year

Hi Gurus,
i have 1+ year exp in abap in reputed company. I want to switch carrier in ABAP to BI. I have gone thro. all related foram..just i want to knw as current date scope of BI. If i have exp. of abap. Certification is required is yes then should i get job immediately or within 2-4 months. or can i go to any other module(less coding but more functioning).

Min Criteria for taking SAP ABAP certification

Hi, i have 2 year exp in abap.Planned to take up the exam.Now when i went through the siemens site,they mentioned like
There are two ways for getting SAP certification:
1. By undergoing the full 5-weeks training at any of the Authorized Education Partners of SAP.
2. Should have at least 2 implementations experience, were the Company authenticates and sponsors the candidate. The Company, which is sponsoring the candidate, needs to be a SAP Partner.
Problem is i worked in maintenance proj.but they have asked for 2 implem proj..Pls help me in taking up the exam..thanks.

You can do certification by e-learning method also, which you can done as a part-time basis also it will cost around 2 lakhs or so(cheaper than Siemens five week). The Experience which you have mentioned is not much helpful in giving ABAP Certification Directly.

I am working in leading software gaint.though i am in big position up to now i have not done certification.
see,certification adds value to ur career.certification board gave permissions to some companies with no experience.i,e even a fresher in taht company can write certification. taht is for certain companies. for reamaining they have to be 1yr experienced then only thay have to appear.
First check with your company team whether yours is in that list or not. if yes gud. no ,try to learn. already u completed 6 months. next 6 months prepare well and write exam.
certification is a matter of money too. for abap certification associate level u have to pay 30000 towards exam fee.so prepare well.if u think u r petrfect then only move ur step.

if you already know it's better opportunities then it sounds like you have already answered your question
if you are not familiar with the concept of big data or HANA I recommend you enter those terms in your search engine or look at SCN Front page and start reading
as far as how to retrain and transition that will really depend on your current employment situation. What would be a great combination is a mix of ABAP with HANA. Without going into further detail I think you will gain more insight by your own research
