  • Certifications not Updated in MCP site

I have cleared 4 exams in the past month (1 MCSA and 2 MCSE's), but only one of them shows in my certification planner and no updates to my certifications. I reached out to Microsoft and the said they were having "technical problems." Has anyone
else had the same issue regarding certification updates?

    Hi, GEstabrook.
First off, congratulations on passing those certification exams! That was a lot of hard work but you beat them. Huge props!
It seems apparent to me that they accidentally created another MCP ID for some of your passed exams. These past exams need to be added to your original MCP profile so your certification titles can be added.
This is a common problem that happens all the time to many people!
It just happened to me in January; they didn't add my passed exam to my MCP profile. It is really important to check your MCP profile every time you pass an exam. Make sure every passed exam is added to your MCP profile within the following seven days.
As a best practice to help prevent this problem in the future (not a guaranteed fix, though!), make sure the email address that you record on your profile on the Prometric site is the same email address that you use to log into the MCP site.
You can log into http://register.prometric.com. After logging in, click
Update Personal Information to view your email address and your Prometric ID, which may look something like SRxxxxxxx. This should give Microsoft Support enough information to map it back to your MCP ID.
Have all your information ready and use the following web page to find the correct contact information for help.
    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/help.aspx
This web page includes email and phone contact information for your geographic location so you can email or call them directly. They will help you get this figured out. Contact your Microsoft Regional Service Center. Their email address is
    [email protected]
You can also call them on the phone, although for me when I called for my problem, it sounded like someone answering the phone at their house and they didn't have any special access to the Microsoft servers to help me. They also told me to wait ten (10) days
but technically it was already day 11. Then they told me to scan my passed exam and email it to Microsoft support. Make sure you keep all your printed exam results and scan them as images on your computer. They each need to be less than
100K in size before you email them to Microsoft support. You should be issued a support ticket number that you can use to check the status.
I hope they get it sorted out for you. Watch your MCP profile.
    Good luck!
    Best wishes, Davin Mickelson

    1. Register and check status on certview
    2. Read the Where is my certificate forum announcement post. Very carefully.
    3. If all else remains failed raise an sr with all previous contact details, and an alternate email address, and indicate responses from previous sr has failed to reach you.
IMHO most issues are with emails back from oracle not getting through. The response to your sr would have been first confirm your details and after you have confirmed them to resend the certain. A recent post from brandye describes this better .... But I am on an iPad and it's harder work for me to post.

  • OCP Certification Not Received after 45 Days!!

    Hi
I have completed my OCP10g Admin on 19 sep 2012, done all formalities, Success Kit shows "You should receive your success kit within 45 days of the ‘Created Date’ above" my Created Date is same 19 Sep 2012, I have raised the SR with +"*Oracle Certification Support*" (http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP)+, there is no response from them. 45 Days criteria Already Passed.
What is the best solution to get the certificate from Oracle soon?
Why we have to do follow up everytime to get the certificate from Oracle, though Oracle ask all things needs to be fulfilled like "Course completion" etc. and I did that, also I want to mention here My Testing ID is same so there is no issue of different testing ids.
    Experts please advise,
    Thanks & Regards
    TJ
Note: Success Kit Status reads this *19-SEP-12 | 1Z0-098 | Oracle Database 10g Hands-On Course Requirement | PASS*

Taking your questions in reverse order:
Note: Success Kit Status reads this 19-SEP-12 | 1Z0-098 | Oracle Database 10g Hands-On Course Requirement | PASSThat's not the data from the 'Success Kit Status' page. That is from the 'Exam History' page. The fields from the 'Success Kit Status' page are:
Candidate Name     Shipping Status     Created Date     Certification     Address1     Address2     Address3     City     State     Postal Code     Country
Success Kit shows "You should receive your success kit within 45 days of the ‘Created Date’ above" my Created Date is same 19 Sep 2012The line with the date of 19-SEP-12 is not from the Success kit page as indicated above. The Success kit is very unlikely to have that same date, as OE would have needed time to verify your course attendence. Even my most recent test has the success kit status the day following the 'Test Start Date' from the exam page and there was no course to be verified. You're is probably several days later than the date you passed the test. That said, the 45 day period is not an 'Oracle' delay. The date shown in that screen is when they shipped the packet, and they suggest waiting 45 days before becoming concerned about delivery because of the time it takes for some overseas shipments to arrive.
I have raised the SR ...there is no response from them45 days from 19-SEP would have been 03-NOV -- two days ago (and Saturday). Unless you jumped the gun, that means your SR was created yesterday or the day before. You might give them a couple of business days to respond.
Why we have to do follow up everytime to get the certificate from OracleI have received about ten certificates from Oracle. I have never had to follow up on any of them. However, I don't stand by the mailbox counting the days either. Once I pass the test, the time for worrying is over. Oracle will send the certificate. It's conceivable that a certificate can get lost in the mail -- especially for overseas shipments. However, they will send it.
Go back into Certview and click on the 'Success Kit Status' Page. Has the kit been sent?

  • Oracle DB11g OCA certification not yet recieved

    Hi ,
I have completed OCA 11g certification on 28 Dec 2010.
In certview its showing as first shipment has done on 29 Dec 2010. I haven't received the certificate yet.
I have mailed '[email protected]' regarding this issue on Feb 16 2011 but couldn see any reply.
    please Help.
    thanks,

    Hi Xaheer,
    Thanks for the response.
Address given is right. I have already received some communications from oracle like invoice in the same address.
its been more than 7 days i mailed '[email protected]'.
it would be better if i can know the status?
    thanks,
IrshadAt the end of thread {thread:ID=2172277} Certification Forum Moderator indicated that there seems to have been a delay in success kits recently.
This probably results in ocp-fulfillment_ww being swamped with emails (I believe ocp fulfillment is in Delhi and I suspect they will feel like they are in the monsoon season deluged with emails from the rest of India).
Oracle could hire more poeple to answer the emails quicker and increase the exam costs.
It also happens they when Oracle says success kit shipped its likely most people think most people mean the success kit has been posted. I suspect it actually means an order has been placed to the printers/assemblers to generate a success kit (Letter, certificate, credit card); and it probably takes a little while for a batch to be assembled and sent out.
You are very close to the 6/8 week limit that Oracle Target for succss kit delivery, and most likely it will arrive in the next couple of weeks. However of course sometimes post goes missing. The Certification Forum Moderator will probably reply on a couple of days on this one.

  • OCA Certification Not Arrived

    Hi Friends,
I've given OCA Exam In 9i developer Track this May. And, haven't received my certificate till date. How long will it take to reach at home? I'm from Kolkata, India.
Is there any facility from where i can get the current status of my OCA Certificate details?
    Regards.
    Satyaki De.

Hi Satyaki. You need to contact OCP Team for more information. After 10g OCP, I've given 9i OCP exams, and in one month, I've cleared 3 exams (it was two months ago) but didn't get any certification (9i OCA). I contacted with OCP Team and they told me that there's some problem with my "Address Line" under my Prometric id. Then I changed and mailed them and got mail that my Certificate is on the way now :)
I strongly suggest you to contact OCP Team ASAP by writing an email to [email protected]

  • Digital Certification not Valid Dialog Hangs the Browser

Hi We are facing some strange issue with the signed applet. The applet used to work fine before we upgraded the JRE to 6u10, from 6u10 onwards its throwing a strange error
The applications digital signature cannot be verified.
Do you want to run the application ?
Dialogbox contains two buttons Run /Cancel and we are not able to click any of the buttons and this hangs the aplication as well as browser
There are no errors on the java console. I tried to enable trace , no great information about the same
The only thing i can share about our application is, it is using jsafeJCEFIPS.jar provided by EMC for telenet client app. We have even verfied the jar signature with the jarsigner tool and found no issues

the issue is resolved because I changed DNS alias to original server name.

  • Advanced certification in ABAP

    Hi All
I am a ABAP programmer with 3 yrs of ABAP experience and currently working on EDI / IDOC technologies. I wanted to go for ABAP certification but I was advised by many not to do it as exam has got very simple ABAP questions, mainly on Basic ABAP
I just wanted to know how true it is and is there any other certification for Advanced ABAPPERS ? ( Like Sun has for Java ).
Are there any certification exams for ALE Idoc , BW programming.
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
Your question amused me. I am also a certified ABAPer, having a rootless existance in SAP. I was working on Web technologies till last Aug and got Certified then and have been an ABAPer ever since. Unfortunately, there is no advanced certification program for ABAP but a certified ABAPer is always considered to have it all.
You are right about the exam questions. It is all basic ABAP, but you see, high rises stand on great foundations. To learn advanced topics, may be you should approach SAPLABS at b'lore as you have over 3 yes of exp and that too on hot technologies like EDI/IDOC.
I would suggest anyone to go for the certification, not to get their 2-3 lakhs spent, but for the face that you will be globally accessible being a certified ABAPer and will have great demand abroad and in India.
    Good luck.
If you think this helped you, please reward me

    With Regards,
RkThe Oracle PL/SQL deveoper certifications is not version specific; probably becuase in general changes are version specific.
If general you need to pass one or mor exams for a certification.
The relevant page for yourself is here (in case you didnt already find it):
So for instance if you passed 1z0-051 and 1z0-144 you would gain a PL/SQL OCA certification
: 1z0-0147 is an alternative exam for 1z0-144
: 1z0-007 is an alternative for 1z0-051 (as is 1z0-047 but that generally though to be more difficult)
A PL/SQL OCA who also passes 1z0-146 gets a PL/SQL developer OCP. (There is no hands on course requirement for a PL/SQL OCP, unlike a DBA OCP)
:: As an added confused 1z0-144 is currently in beta (as exam 1z0-144 until 10th sept. 2009). The production exam will not then release for another 10/13 weeks, say 1st december 2009.
For most people I would recommend concentrating on 1z0-051 first.
Hoping I have not confused you more - bigdelboy.

  • Certification Matrix shows 11g EE "projected" on Mac Intel also

On the Oracle Certification Matrix (http://www.oracle.com/technology/support/metalink/index.html)
    Product "Database/Server"
    Database Product " Ent. Edition"
    Platform "Apple Mac Intel"
    you get:
Certify - Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 11gR1 On Apple MAC Intel
Operating System: Apple MAC Intel Version -
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 11gR1
    N/A Version N/A
    Status: Projected
    Product Version Note:
    None available for this product.
    Certification Note:
    STBA
    What does it mean "STBA"?
Most other platforms (AIX, Solaris, Linux, HP/UX) have
    "Status: Projected" also,
but they have as "Certification Note" a 4th Quarter 2007 acronym:
    Q4CY2007
    Oscar

It's now mid-2010 and we are still waiting ...
We use Pearson PowerSchool in our school district and just got this notice from them:
We’ve been anticipating an update from Oracle, which would allow us to deploy Oracle 11g on the Mac. The Windows version from Oracle has been available for nearly 2 years; however, there is still no published delivery date from Oracle for a Mac version.
Complicating matters, the current version of Oracle for the Mac is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.x Snow Leopard, which has been shipping since August 2009. New customers, and existing customers who want to upgrade their hardware, would find new Apple servers are incompatible with the current Oracle database. Oracle has not provided a date by which the current version of the Oracle Mac Database (10gR2) will be certified on Mac OS X 10.6.
Oracle’s diminishing commitment to the Apple platform has left Pearson with limited options for customers using Mac servers. We do not have a commitment from Oracle for future versions of the database supporting the Mac, and current versions of the Oracle database are incompatible with new hardware running Mac OS X 10.6.
Therefore, all Mac customers should make plans to replace their Mac database servers with a Windows-based database server (physical or virtual). Pearson will discontinue support for the Mac database server effective December 31, 2010.*
Should Oracle issue a version of 11g with Mac compatibility, we will evaluate support options for this platform again.
This is extremely bad news for us as we are a Macintosh district and don't have the resources to support Windows servers. Why is Oracle not supporting Mac OS X? Is there anyone we can complain to or is it just a hopeless cause?

Certify - Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 10gR2 On Apple MAC Intel

What does it means exactly "2H CY2008"?

  • 1Z0-051 without OCA certification

    Hi everyone.
I am currently a university student with a great interest in SQL. As a result, I intend to take the SQL Fundamentals qualifications (1Z0-051). I believe passing this exam alone is not sufficient to get an OCA certification, but I am not really interested in becoming a DBA later, I can see myself as a developer instead. I know that there is a SQL Expert qualification too, but I believe I do not have the neccessary experience to pass that exam yet, so I am starting with 1Z0-051. My question is, even though it does not give me a certification, is there still a way it can be placed on my CV so that the employer can track it down/check its validity? Do I get an ID or some sort of code after passing the exam, which can be used for others to look my results up online?
    Thank you,
    All the best,
    D

... I am not really interested in becoming a DBA later, I can see myself as a developer instead.
Just a SQL developer?  If you take (and pass) the exam 1Z0-144 after 1Z0-051, you will become an OCA PL/SQL developer.  That will be a verifiable Oracle certification.
...is there still a way it can be placed on my CV so that the employer can track it down/check its validity? Do I get an ID or some sort of code after passing the exam, which can be used for others to look my results up online?
You can certainly put on your CV that you passed the Oracle SQL Fundamentals exam.  You will get a PDF of the test results that you can show to an employer if they ask.  However, the only options in CertView on publishing credentials to third parties is for certifications, not test results.
