XI Checks in EWA

Hello,
I have connected a PI 7.11 system to Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 system. EWA for the PI system does not show information about XI check. Do I have to do any special configuration for PI systems?

  • EWA ABAP stack from solution manger

    Dear all.
We are configuring our solution manager in order to obtain EWA ABAP stack of all our satellite systems. Our solution manager is 7.0 EHP1.
We have created our satellite system in SMSY and generated all required RFC. We have created a solution in SOLUTION_MANAGER transaction including our satellite system on it. From SMSY we can access SDCCN of satellite system without problem and activate it. Then we create all required tasks here : 'Maintenance package', 'Refresh service definition' and 'Refresh sessions'. Three tasks finish succesfully, but EWA is not generated.
We can't run report RTCCTOLL  because currently we have not OSS conection.
Please, can anybody help us in this issue? What components are required in solution manager and satellite systems in order to obtain this reports?
Thanks a lot and best regards.

    Hi,
    1. First, Check whether EWA is activated for the satellite system or not.
DSWP->Select the solution of your satellite system->Operations Setup->Setup Early Watch Alert
Once you click on Setup Early Watch Alert, Early Watch Alert Administration screen will be displayed.
Check Early Watch Alert for the system is activated or not. i.e, The checkbox of column "Active" should be checked.
    2. Next check the settings of SDCCN as i replied in this thread:
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=21861438&messageID=6974101
    Hope this may help you.

  • EWA report

    Hi,
ewa report showing Errors in Data Collection
The following exceptions were raised during data collection:
    Host     Function Name     Exception
    sapbwpapp     GET_FSYS_SINGLE     SHARED_MEMORY_NOT_AV
    sapbwpapp     GET_MEM_ALL     SHARED_MEMORY_NOT_AV
    sapbwpapp     GET_CPU_ALL     SHARED_MEMORY_NOT_AV
    sapbwpapp     FILL_SNAPSHOT_DATA     SHARED_MEMORY_NOT_AV
plz kindly help me to resolve this error.
    kvl

    Hi,
Please Check the EWA Session Log which is run in sapbwpapp system using SDCCN. Any errors/warnings are listed there as mentioned in EWA Report ?
The EWA Session Data is collected at Satelite system and then they are transferred to Solution Manager System and/or to SAP for EWA Report generation.
Execute RTCCTOOL in both Solution Manager System and in Satellite system to get more information about the possible gapes (such as required Add/on, SAP notes implementation ) to have better service preparation. If required, Apply the recommended SAP Notes or Support Patches in both Solman and Satellite System as suggested Service Preparation Check (RTCCTOOL).
Also, verify the last EWA reports to check weather the same errors are reported earlier or not.

  • EWA & IT Reporting on MDM System

    Hi,
We are configuring our MDM System in System Monitoring.
Is that possible to configure EWA & IT Reporting for MDM Systems in Solution Manager System Monitoring.?
    Pls Advise
    Thanks
    Arun

    Hello
Please to be clear, EWA for MDM is possible however only the Standard JAVA checks can be made.
There are no MDM checks for EWA. There maybe MDM checks in the future.
So 1) Yes EWA can be generated on an MDM system with SDM installed
         2) The EWA will be a standard Java system EWA and will have no MDM specific checks.
    Hope this makes everyhting clear.

  • Session Overdue in EWA Status

    Dear All,
Iam Configuring Early Watch Alert. First i am configuring for DEV system.
Initially i ran the report RTCCTOOL and applied all recommended in that report.
Now when i check the EWA is T-code DSWP, it says,"The data for this session is overdue. Data has not yet been transferred from the associated managed system".
    Kindly help me proceed further...
    Thank You,
    Regards,
    Hasan

    Hello
When you schedule an EWA report in Solution Manager and it becomes red flagged "Session Date overdue",
this means that Solution Manager is trying to process the EWA, however the Satellite system has not sent the session data for some reasons.
So Red Flag EWA means the issue is with the Satellite system.
The problem will be either 1) One of the required SDCCN tasks has encountered errors and did not complete.
Typically these can be the Maintenance Package task (runs once per day) failed to update the service definitions, or failed to run the refresh session task (which are functions of the Maint. Package task). If these fail the SDCCN EWA task will not run.
However if it does run, this task is what is populating the service session, so any errors or warnings in this task can also prevent the service session from being populated.
And if all these tasks appear to work, then there will be a problem withte SM_<SID>CLNT<nnn>_BACK RFC.
Potentially the Task Processor could be halted on the satellite. But these will be the issue 95% of the time.
So these are the things that must carefully be checked. And yes, the problem is on the Satellite, not the Solution Manager system. This advise should lead you directly to the problem.
This is an issue we see time and time again, and it is always the same things as described above.

  • EWA Session does not appear

    Hi all,
I've installed SolMan 7.0 EHP1 and complete the initial and basic configuration using SOLMAN_SETUP tcode.
Then I connect a satellite system with SMSY tcode and setup the EWA configuration.
Now I want to create a EWA Report manually but when I run the REFRESH_SESSION from SDCCN tcode on satellite system the EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager Session does not appear.
    Could you please help me?
    Thanks in advanced
    Moreno

    1. Did you setuo EWA in SOLMAN for that satelitte System? DSWP->Select the solution->Operations Setup->Solution Monitoring->Early Watch Alert->Setup Early Watch Alert.
    2. If you have done this, then goto DSWP->Select the solution->Operations->Solution Monitoring->Early Watch Alert->Just click on the scheduled EWA. It will tell you why the session data is not collected from satelitte system though you ran REFRESH_SESSION at satelitte system.
    OR
    3. Check whether EWA is active at solman for that solution(Satelitte System).
    DSWP->Settings->Solution Monitoring->Early Watch Alert
    4. Check maintenace package and EWA is scheduled after you ran REFRESH_SESSION at satellite system(SDCCN), if so, then select the maintance package->click on details button(right side of the screen). Make sure that "Target RFC Destination" under Target System should be Back RFC of Solution Manager.
    Hope this may help you.

  • Activate EWA for satellite system in 3.2

    Hello,
We have solution manager 3.2 with all the latest patches, and have included the satellite system in the landscape and generated the RFC's. Need to activate EWA for the system. Have defined a Solution. Need to how do you include a system in the solution because when i click on Solution directory --> setup EWA, it gives a message,
    "NO system found in landscape"
Any suggestions / inputs are appreciated.
    Thanks and cheers,
    Chetan

    HI ,
Kindly follow the below steps for the EWA activation:
1)go to transaction SMSY enter your system details and check the system data is updating with the SLD (check this option in SMSY_SETUP)
2)then define logical component fo rthis system then define this logical component under solution
3)you will be having a option under that EWA configuration click on EWA active (check )
and check the Send to SAP if you want the EWA repor thas to reach SAP once the Report is Red after analysis done in Solman by the Job SMS*
4)then go to SDCCN in the solman then trigger the activation of session data for the particular sysytem if the RFC SM_SIDCLNT<CLNT>_back exists then task created in the satelite system for the session data to Solamn
5)then check the EWA report and do processing in the operation for that solution

  • Indexes missing

    Hi team ,
We have found one index missing in db02. The index is in Abap Dictionary but not in Database. How to find the who perform the deletion of index from data base OR who perforn the creation of index in only Abap Dictionary.
    Regards
      Vishnu

If it is your Production, then it might be transported from Development.
Check the change log (Last update) on particular Index to get user name and the date.
Otherwise someone must have performed Index rebuild online (It drops and recreates, but might be because of size of Index it just droped and not created in foreground).
Check your EWA whether you are getting any alerts on this change or not.
If it is usable then you have to create at DB level too (Use SE11).

  • BW Performance tuning

    Hi Friends,
We are facing some performance down in our BW production server.
Database is Oracle 10g and OS is HP-UX 11 v2 and 960 GB database size.
What are the things can tuned in database  ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Ganesh Datt Tiwari

My suggestion is - Check your EWA for the details from where the load is getting generated and what is hampering the system performance, what are the processes (Activities) utilizing much resources.
If you don't have the EWA option, Just log a call with SAP and let them involve in this issue.
    OR
Update this message with more details (HW size, ST06 overview, ST04 overview, no of users etc)

  • SLR Report Missing for 'MAY "

    Hi all,
i have created the SLR report in Solution Manager which is genrated on 7th Jun 2011 for the MAY,
But in the report it is i am able to get only data till APRIL ?
Please let me know the issue?
    Regards,
    Neni
Edited by: swaroop v on Jun 14, 2011 11:06 AM

    Hello,
SLR reports can have various sources of data, i.e. CCMS, EWA, etc.
When data is missing in the SLR report, it is often a good idea to check the EWA reports for the same periods to see if they are having any issues with missing data, because if they are, this will be reflected int he SLR reports.
If there are no issues with the EWA reports for the same systems as the SLR report, then you should check the SM:EXEC SERVCES log for any errors. It may be trying to perform the session for the SLR and might be failing.
Is a report beiong generated with no data, some data, or no report is being generated at all? This can also help to determine where the issue is occuring?
Typically you should schedule the SLR reports a day after the EWA reports, to ensure they have been processed.
    Regards,
    Paul

    Hi,
In Solution Manager some RFC conntion was fixed and job scheduled every week, is anyone tell me how to change job time, in other words i want to re-sent early watch again, can't wait 1 week...
    Thanks

    hi,
as long as i know, you can check the ewa in sdccn and over menue -> edit -> start now.
After running Maintenaince package, it should reserve new time for the next ewa.

    Dear All,
Here below is SAP's reply. Just For your information. Thank you again for your help.

    Hello Jason
We found that you using power5 CPU on AIX server with CPU dynamic allocation.
The CPU statistics of SPLPARs are not reliable within SAP standard monitors. You can not believe the current CPU utilizaiton check in EWA report. IBM and SAP developed CCMS transactions for monitoring those environments. It is recommended to use your Solution Manager system
(central monitoring system) for monitoring those environments. Please refer to the following SAP Notes and consider activating CCMS monitoringfor your SPLPAR environment:

  • EWA: error message in CRM check for SAP Solution Manager system

    Hello!
In EWA report for SAP Solution Manager system I have seen error message: Many CSA* inbound queues in error status were detected in your system. As a result of this BDocs have not been delivered. And then table
Queue Name                                Status     Date of first entry             Entries

    CSA_ORDER_8000000001      READY     22.11.2007     3
    and others.
I looked transaction smq2. There are 11300 queues in it. Is it actual error or it is a normal situation? And that must I do, to remove an error?
Edited by: Mariya Kurbatova on Jul 2, 2009 6:27 AM

    Hi,
Usually problems with hanaging CSA* queues are caused because too many
indiviaual queues are created for the qRFC resources to handle. You can
limit the number of queues as described in note 763680.
Note 763680 would be useful if all of your qRFC resourcesa are in use
when you have a great number of queues. With a large number of dialog
WPs on the system it would probably make sense to reduce the amount
    as described in the note.
the casue when you have this problem would be to check SMQR -> GOTO ->
qRFC resources. You can also see if most of your dailog WPs are in use
    in SM50.
    Also refer to note 758677.
Please schedule report RSQIWKEX (Inbound) to run as described in the
    note.
And since your title has mentioned that the EWA is on your CRM satellite system; this maybe a further good reference too
When you replicate lots of data from CRM to R/3, there could be a qRFC
resource problem. In this case, the numebr of queues created can be
reduced by implementing the attached note 356228, particularly solution
    2.
    For CSA* queues is slightly different from the one decribed in note;
this is because the CSA queues exchange data within the CRM system.
The steps described should be followed, except that table SMOFQFIND
must be used instead of CRMQNAMES. In this table, fields TR_SNAEMS and
SEGM_FLD are equivalent to the CRMQNAMES fieds BAPISTRUCT and BAPIFLD
respectively. It should be possible to follow the solution 2 in the
note as long as you use SMOFQFIND instead of CRMQNAMES.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers,
    SH
