XI demo system

Hi,
I like to learn XI, is there a free demo system to download ?

Hi,
XI is not a part of the Sneak Previews as it needs both the JAVA and ABAP stack

  • Product is not defined in Supplying plant in demo system

    Hi Experts,
I am doing initial load in demo system. While doing Material transfer I am facing Product is not defined in supplying plant issue.
Though I am transferring master data 1st time to the plants, how can i extend product to the supplying plant first.
    please advice.
    Thanks,
    Bala.

    Hi Bala.
Are you using special procurement key for Production in Another Plant? If yes, perhaps you can try to send first the material at production plant and only then send it at planning plant to APO. I've never had this issue, so this is just an idea/educated guess.
Also, what support packages are you on?

  • How to design a demo system landscape

    Hello,
I need to build up a system landscape for demos and would like to ask if there are any best practices. I need a portal and would like the ESS/MSS-scenario with an IDES system. But using the IDES system everytime I need it I have to build up the data for the current time period. Is there any possiblity in IDES (or IDES successors, if there is one) to generate data for current time periods?
How are you handling the data of your demo systems?
    Thanks a lot,
      Vanessa

    Hello,
Read about IDES release strategy and found this:
A New version of IDES is available with every correction release. It is not possible to upgrade an existing IDES version to a new release. You can, however, install service packages for the corresponding correction release. This means that every new IDES Release involves a new installation. The IDES Release Strategy ensures that you always get new master data, transaction data, customizing functions, and documentation that are tested and checked for quality.
Seems installing the new release of IDES will be the most probable solution.

  • Remote Test and Demo Systems

Would like comments from prior users of Remote Test and Demo Systems (or DPA?) where you get remote access to an SAP maintained system for the purpose of testing your application's interfaces with SAP ERP and/or BW.
    - how do you obtain this access
    - how long does this process take
    - what's the cost
    - how well does the system work
    - do you get access to only the built-in data or you can create your own.

    Hello Veeren,
    Hope this helps:
    Q. How to obtain access ?
Just contact the ICC guys <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sdnservices/icc">http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sdnservices/icc</a> and they will help you out with this. We had a lovely experience with the consultants for our XI Content Certification.
    Q. How long does this process take ?
In our case, it was less than a week.
    Q. What's the cost ?
We were fortunate to do it during the promotional period and did not have to pay anything. The ICC consultant would help you with the details.
    Q. How well does the system work ?
The system was quite fast and the access is via ITS / SAP GUI for HTML.
    Q. Do you get access to only the built-in data or you can create your own ?
Besides the XI Server, it was an IDES system in our case and we were also able to create data.
All the best for your certification.

  • LVM demo system scenario fails in CAL

    Hello,
We created an instance of the LVM demo system in Cloud Appliance Library (SAP Landscape Virtualization Management 2.0, Enterprise Edition based on NetWeaver 7.4 SP5)
The scenarios described in chapter 6 (Provisioning) fail - which is regrettable since these are for us the most interesting ones to show in a demo.
The probable error root cause  is a DNS update error in step 1, causing all following steps to fail
Is this a known issue with a correction or workaround?
Thanks in advance for your assistance

  • Printing in BSP demo system

    Hi,
I'm having some problems setting up a printer in my BSP demo system.
I tried configuring a local output device with device type SAPWIN, device class Standard printer, access method F and host printer __DEFAULT.
When I print, I get the message "Spool request (number &) sent to SAP printer &" but the spool goes to status "waiting" and the SAPLPD program is not triggered.
I scoured all the logs I could find (system log and developer trace) but I could find no real help.  I do get some error messages and these are as follows...
    <b>System Log</b>
Spool: RT_INSERT Reports Error 64 for Table
    <b>Developer Trace</b>
    A Mon Feb 19 21:38:45 2007
    A  *** ERROR => RFC: rfctr_open: userinfo->spaprotovers 0 [abrfcsys.c   5345]

    A  TH VERBOSE LEVEL FULL
S  no gui for frontend connection available
    A couple of observations:
The TSP02W entry does seem to exist with the following values:
      PJIDENT           4217
      PJNUMMER      1
      PJDEST            (Device, ie. LOCL)
      PJOWNER        BCUSER
      PJSERVER       (blank)
      PJSTATUS        2
I'm not sure if there's supposed to be anything in the PJSERVER field.
I'm not sure what PJSTATUS "2" means.
I checked in OSS (well, everywhere actually!) and it seems that SAPLPD may not be relevant for the 620 SAP version.  OSS note 16420 says "<b>IMPORTANT INFORMATION: SAP now only supports SAPLPD for frontend printing in Releases prior to 4.6C.</b>".
I found quite a lot of references to  new access method "G", however, this does not seem to be an option in the BSP demo system.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to set up a printer in the BSP demo system?  I'm not BASIS and have exhausted all the sources I can get.
    Thanks for your help,      Andy

    Dinesh,
IE print will print only what is on the screen .. I am not able to make out what the issue is ..
    is it :
    1. Page has scrolling and hence you are unable to print properly
    2. Something you expect to be printed is not getting printed ..?
also I suggest you post the same in the BSP forum and the BPS forum for better results..
    Hope it helps..

  • Adding solman to a demo system in solman stms

Here i need to add solman in my demo domain controller systems. As soon i give stms in solman it asks me to configure transport domain fo solman. I choose other configuration. I have given the respective ,description, target host and system no. It shows me the information "Could not determine tp profile parameter DBHOST" and as soon as i click ok it shjows me : 'TMS not configured for this SAP System'. i have found one more thing which may help you in assisting me. In my E:\usr\sap\trans\bin i have found only two files DOMAIN.CFG and TMS_test.sid. Iam missing tpparam file in it. Iam bit confused. Please assist.

I found the exact same error as you describe during my installation of SM40 on windows, have you been abe to resolve the issue? if so, could you please provide me the solution. When you copy the tpparam_inst<sid> file to tpparam you would be able to proceed as a short work arround, however if you need to adjust a parameter again this seems not to work.
    thanks.

  • Is LiveCache Mandatory even for a demo system

    Hi,
I am in the process of setting up a demo of SCM. ICH (working ok) and Demand planning. We have not installed LiveCache (SCM 41 and we don't have any 64 bit servers available).
When I replicate my transactional data from R/3 I get a SQL eror -709 in the outbound queues. As this is native SQL I have struggled to debug it.
It pointed me to note 582807, which lead me to believe it was failing due to attempting to connect to LiveCache.
Having earlier reviewed OSS note 752838 I was under the impression I had diabled LiveCache from my client.
Is LiveCache Mandatory for the SCM scenarios or for the purpose of demos can I get around it?

Thanks Roland. I posted in both as I was unsure if it was an issue or a question. Had the answer been live cache was needed, I would have gone on to see what my options were around installing Live cache on a 32 bit server, even though it would be unsupported in SCM41.
Thanks I wil persue through OSS.

  • Insufficient capacity on Free Trial Demo System

    Hi guys,
we´re actually testing a EFE Free Trial System in AWS.
As we recently tried to start the instance, we´re getting the following error message:
Operation Resume failed on step Resume with message:
AMAZON : Insufficient capacity. (Service: AmazonEC2; Status Code: 500; Error Code: InsufficientInstanceCapacity; Request ID: e6531150-d5aa-43fd-bd96-46264038da81)
The AWS FAQ has the following solution options for me:
When you receive this type of error, you have several different options:
Simply wait for that instance type to become available.
    Launch a different instance size.
Launch an instance in a different availability zone and migrate back at a later time, if necessary.   This provides a temporary solution until you can replace it at a later time with one in the desired availability zone.  However, you will be charged cross-zone data transfer costs.
Launch an instance in the -Any- availability zone
Purchase a reserved instance (for that instance type) in the desired availability zone.  This will also prevent you from receiving this error in the future.
But I only have the Trial System, so I don´t want to reserve a instance or migrate it to another zone...
So do I have any chance to get the system up & running?
    Thanks, Regards
    ben

    Hi Ben,
SAP ERP Foundation Extension powered by SAP HANA trial is offered in us-east-1 and eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) regions only. If you do not have particular data to preserve on your instance - you can try creating new one in US (you need to terminate the old one first).
We observe other similar errors in in eu-central - so maybe AWS has reached some capacity limit in this data center for the required instance types.

There is no Installation Script for XI-2.0. The document you have to check is the XI 2.0 installation guide.

  • [Demo] Differences between IDES, Sneak Preview, ES Discovery Systems

    Hi,
It has become quite complicated to navigate between all the demo systems
<i>As shown in this post, for instance
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=835708&messageID=2043010</i>
<i>Have also a look at this thread:
    Downloading IDES software
There is major problems I think, knowing:
    - <b>what exactly are the functionalities</b> (and consequently, what audience is targeted) provided by Sneak Preview (SDN), IDES systems (through Software Catalog), ES Discovery systems (I am sure I am missing some of them).
<i>  For instance, IDES offer functional modules and Sneak preview doesn't</i>
    - <b>what level of partnership is needed</b> (none [for instance for products available in the SDN Download section] to get those sustems, SAP Partner for IDES, SAP Global Partner for Software Catalog)
    - <b>what is the trial period</b> (if any) : is it possible to renew the license, if yes for how long...
If I have made mistakes, feel free to correct me, that's the whole point of this post.
I think a blog or a Wiki could help hundreds of people !
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

IDES contains a complete ERP with data of a fake company (IDES), as otherwise you had to spend weeks to implement this to do any useful things in an ERP.
    > - <b>what level of partnership is needed</b> (none
    > [for instance for products available in the SDN

All SDN downloads only need SDN membership, which is available to anybody signing up.
    > for IDES, SAP Global Partner for Software Catalog)
IDES is only available to customers and partners and this depends on the country you live in. There is no IDES download on SDN.
    > - <b>what is the trial period</b> (if any) :
All trial periods are 90 days for legal reason. I know we did different in the past, but had to change this.
    >is it
    > possible to renew the license, if yes for how
    > long...
Because of the legal reason trial licenses are  not intended to be renewed. Nevertheless, as we usually provide new downloads every 6 month or so question is when such rights end, as  new downloads renew the evaluation period. Well, the intention is to inform you guys about our software and that is what you essentially do with it (for the most part).
    > I think a blog or a Wiki could help hundreds of
    > people !
I'll see if I can do something like that... but not before easter.
