Xi: File to Idoc doubt

Dear all,
I am working on File to Idoc. I am doing some fields are constants and some fields are let it be. When i am  executing this sceenario, in XML file contains the data those i dclared as constants and remaining fields are not appearing in XML payload. If anybody have file to Idoc scenario, please forward me. Gr8 help for me?
regards,
anjireddi

Hi Raman,
1.Use the constant function from your graphical mapping tool under message mapping.
then test the mapping using the test tab,you can even use your originial XML or insert your own values.
after that check again.
it is possible that a higher hirarchy elemnet above your XML element has not been created due to mapping error.
check it as well.
good luck

  • Doubt on server proxy and file to idoc scenario

    Hi,
I could able to solve most of my doubts from this forum, many regards to all who assisted me.Here are some simple doubts plz help me in solving them.
1.In FILE to PROXY scenario is it necessary to create rfc destination on IS and receiver system? becoz in some blogs it is written to create RFC dest only in case of CLIENT PROXY,since we XI adapter to connect receiver syst in case of server proxy?
2.In FILE to IDOC scen at receiver side is it necessary to formalities in SM59,WE21,WE20 or just configure in WE20 to maintain partner profile?
              3. In case of single SLD for DEV,CON,PROD while transferring from DEV TO CON using file system how do we move file in EXPORT DIRECTORY TO IMPORT DIRECTORY of cons system?
4.for transporting IR objects we can use TRANSPORT LIST or CHANGE LIST which will be more preferable?
Plz kindly answer to any of questions u know ?
Points will be rewarded for valuable answers.

You need to maintain the setting on your R3 system to connect to XI for the Transaction SPROXY as shown in the blog "How to Activate ABAP Proxies".
Apart from that as you are doing a file to proxy via XI, XI would need to send data to the R3 system . For this, you can either key in the Details of the R3 system in the XI adapter directly or you can maintain a HTTP destination on your XI in SM59 and use this in the XI adaper.
    > 2.In FILE to IDOC scen at receiver side is
    > it necessary to formalities in SM59,WE21,WE20 or
    >  just configure in WE20 to maintain partner profile?
Just the partner porfile. SM 59 and We 21 are used for port and RFC destination and as it is XI that is posting the Idoc these steps are not needed on R3
    > 3. In case of single SLD for DEV,CON,PROD
    > while transferring from DEV TO CON using file system

    >  DIRECTORY of cons system?
You have to go to the Folder Level / OS level of your XI server, copy the files from the Export DIrectory and move these manually to the import folder of the CONS server. This is for both IR and ID objects.
    > 4.for transporting IR objects we can use
    > TRANSPORT LIST or CHANGE LIST which will be more
    >  preferable?
If you perfrom File Transport, the imported objects will be available under the Import Change List and you need to activate this Import Change List.

  • Big Doubt.. Help pls.. Urgent.. File to IDoc (Bypass)

File to IDoc scenario( Bypass)-- Error ( Segment is missing) -- urgent pls.
    Hi Bhavesh and all,
I done file to idoc scenario (Bypass)
From the above thread i have hardcoded my XML file  by inserting BEGIN
and Segment = "1" in each of the new segment.
Since it is a bypass scenario.. when it reach to production , the idoc -xml will come from one of the tool without having these BEGIN and SEGMENT = "1".
    Still XI will receive it??
Because my doubt is i harcoded the XML file and finished my developement.
Now iam getting the doubt that once they do testing in QA server..the XI will process it and not ?
Can we able to achieve this even without BEGIN and SEGMENT = "1" ?
    or
    those fileds are mandatory?
Pls suggest me .. its urgent.
    Regards
    Seema..

    Hi Seema,
    >> <i>Can we able to achieve this even without BEGIN and SEGMENT = "1" ?
    or
    those fileds are mandatory?</i>
To post an idoc to R/3 system this fields are mandatory.
    >><i>From the above thread i have hardcoded my XML file by inserting BEGIN

As you are just routing it...just XI will poll the file and sends data to the idoc ( as the source and target structure are same).

  • Doubt in file 2 idoc scenario

    hi,
I am trying to execute to file 2 idoc scenario.
I created DT,MT for XML file outbound system.
    After importing idoc
how can i create DT, MT for idoc to connect oubound DT,MT (file side)?
I am following this wiki guide
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/profile/2007/05/11/fileToIDOC&

    hi Raj,
It means in Idoc, for each field Mesage type, data type are defined, no need to create to once again here in XI.
plz if i understood wrongly means correct me.
    ONE MORE THING
    i imported cremas04 idoc,
in that EDI_DC40 contains control record
    E1LFA1M contain data record
    is it correct?

  • Doubt about RFC Destination in FILE to IDOC Async scenario

    hi
In FILE-XI-IDOC Async Scenario we are creating RFC Destination in R/3 and XI.
For Asyn we don't want response But We are Creating RFC Destination in R/3 also.
    Any specific reason.
    Thanks in advance.

First you need to have a clear understading of how the idoc adapters works.
In xi we create rfc destination and specify that in the port maintenance on the idoc adapter so that we can establish a connection to the sender / receiver system which contains the IDOC METADATA (IDX2) that is required by the idoc adapter to convert the native idoc into idoc xml format.
In R/3 as sender we create rfc destination so that when the idoc has to be transported to the xi system first it will be sent to trfc port that rfc desination that  u define the trfc port contains that the target system address(IP) and logon parameters req.So idoc can be sent to the desired destination.
In R/3 as a receiver to facilitate communication we define rfc dest, partner profile and specify the inbound parameters so that idoc can be posted.
    Hope this answers your ques.
    cheers

  • File to IDOC. Mapping doubts...

    Hi XI Gurus..
I'm doing a file to IDOC scenario.. I've a filed called Master Number and Sequence number..
First I've to sort the file based on Master number. based on this sorted file I must sort the sequence numbers.
    For example:
    0011232      01
    0011232      00
    0011231      01
    0011232      01
    0011231      00
    after first sort
    0011232      01
    0011232      00
    0011232      01
    0011231      01
    0011231      00
    after second sort
    0011231      00
    0011231      01
    0011232      00
    0011232      01
    0011232      01
Now in mapping I must create one IDOC for every set of Master number. In the IDOC a segment must repeat for every sequence number.. i.e For 0011231 there must 2  sequence segments i.e 00 and 01, and 0011232 also must have 2 sequence segments i.e 00 and 01

    hi,
    please try the following mapping,
for creating the IDOC based on Message  Number
    message No-->removecontext->sort>spiltbyvalue(for value change)-->collapscontext---->EDIDD(IDOC TAB).
to create the SEGMENT based on the Sequence number please try the following mapping.
    Sequence no-->removecontext---->sortbykey(key as messageNo)
    >formatbyexample(first queue is message no and second queue is sequence no)---->splitbyvalue(for  each value)-->segment(IDOCsegment).

  • File to IDOC aggsales mapping doubt Urgnt

    Hello,
Im working for a retail client and the requirement is the File to IDOC scenario where Im stuck up in the mapping.
The inbound is a flat file of structure
    EDI_DC40
    E1WPU01
    E1WPU02
    E1WPU03
    E1WPU04
The target IDOC structure is as follows
    WPUUMS01
    --IDOC
    EDIDC40
    E1WPU01
    E1WPU02
    E1WPU03
    E1WPU04
The problem is with the target segment E1WPU03. This E1WPU03 is actually an optional one in the source inbound flatfile.
So the source will be like this
    EDI_DC40
    E1WPU01
    E1WPU02
    E1WPU03
    E1WPU04
    E1WPU02
    E1WPU04
    E1WPU02
    E1WPU03
    E1WPU04
So in the target I need to create the 03 segment if and only if it occurs in the source.
I tired these following but didnt work for me.. what happens is The 03 segment which should come in the third 02 segment actually comes int he second one.
any suggestions if this is possible in message mapping or should I go for an xslt
    I tried this one.
    SourceE1WPU03 >exists> if withoutelse>then "constant'> targetE1WPU03
    Thanks
    Prasanna

    > any suggestions if this is possible in message mapping or should I go for an xslt
No, this is not possible with graphical mapping tool.
You need to have a pre-mapping for this.
I recommend Java mapping with SAX parser.
you can easily change the input structure to:
    EDI_DC40
    -E1WPU01
    --E1WPU02
    ---E1WPU03
    E1WPU04
    --E1WPU02
    E1WPU04
    --E1WPU02
    ---E1WPU03
    E1WPU04

  • Port Concept in File to Idoc Scenario

    Hi All,
i have some doubts in File to Idoc scenarion.......... for sending file i m using Business Service. In adapter specific Identifier i have "FILE".
    1. So i hv to configure partner profile with this name.......... M I Right????
    2. At my receiver side (R3) i have many ports configured for XI. so which one will be used to post idoc???
    Thanks,
    Maheshwari.

    > 1. So i hv to configure partner profile with this
    > name.......... M I Right????
U are correct. You need to create a Logical System Name on R3 for this in BD54  and then add the inbound partner profile entry in We20.
    > 2. At my receiver side (R3) i have many ports
    > configured for XI. so which one will be used to post
    > idoc???
As it is a File to Idoc, ports on R3 do not matter. You need to create a port in IDX1 in XI.

  • Where to define third party logical system name in file to idoc scenario

    Hi Friends,
      I am shalini shah.
I have one doubt, where I can define the logical system name in File to Idoc scenario.
I created Logical system for R/3 system in SALE t.code, but where to define the Third party logical system ,
    In SALE or any where.
    Please give me solution.
    Warm Regards,

    Hi Shalini,
You need to create Business system in SLD and import the business system in ID.Then u will start with the configuration.
Just refer the below link for configurations with step by step solution.

  • File to Idoc Scenario. Pls advice

    Hi All,
I have implemented File to Idoc Scenario and it worked fine.
    I have 2 doubts:
My Scenario: File -- XI -- R/3 system named D01
    1. In Configuration: In Receiver Aggrement why we put
XI Business System name in Sender Service?
    2. In Configuration when I open my R/3 Business system
(D01CLNT100) and click on Adapter Specfic Identifiers I can
see my Logical System Name as D01CLNT100.
When I use SALE tx. in D01 R/3 system I can see
        D01CLNT100 as logical system
Question:  If I use SALE transaction and change my
logical system name to "test" , do I need to change the
name "test" in SLD and then for R/3 Business system
(D01CLNT100) in Adapter Specfic Identifiers I will see new
         Logical System Name as test.
    Regards

    Hi,
Question: If I use SALE transaction and change my logical system name to "test" , do I need to change the name "test" in SLD and then for R/3 Business system (D01CLNT100) in Adapter Specfic Identifiers I will see new Logical System Name as test
Yes , you need to Update the name in SLD and just Do SLD Data Cache in ID-- Environment to reflect the same name in Identifiers place.
    >>1. In Configuration: In Receiver Aggrement why we put XI Business System name in Sender Service?
You might have used XI as Sender and you might have placed the file in XI Server to pickup.
Thats why you are using Xi's Business System name as Sender Serveice.

  • File to Idoc with error in trfc

    Hello,
    I have a scenario like
    File -> XI -> (idoc) R3
The scenario works fine but yesterday I had a problem with the user in the rfc destination(pwd wrong) which is used for the idoc-adapter. In the sxmb_Moni and the RWB the msg. got an success flag/info but it was not delivered to the r3 because the rfc-destintion could not work.
I know that the idoc-adapter is not part of the adapter-engine and  my understanding was that the adapter send his status back to the integration engine. But in this cause I got no feedback from the adapter. I think this is not Ok or I am wrong ?
    Regards Jami

    Hi Jami,
The reason is simple.....the message is sent from the integration server to the adapter engine which was susessful.but what went wrong is the rfc destination being wrong in the receiver adapter which is not known to the integration server. So in simple words, if things work fine in your integration server then it will not throw an error in your sxmb_moni. So had there been a problem between the message transfer from the integration engine to the adapter engine then it would have surely given you an error in your sxmb_moni(for example you specify some wrong parameters while configuring your receiver IDOC adapter).
But in this case since we dont have an IDOC adapter in the component monitoring (it has adapters which are in the JAVA stack only but IDOC adapter is in the ABAP stack)we can see the error in SM58 only.
I hope this answers your question fully. If any other doubts regarding the same pls do ask me.

  • IDOC to EDI file scenario and EDI file to IDOC scenario without Seeburger

    Hi All,
IDOC (Invoice) to EDI file scenario without Seeburger

EDI file to IDOC (Orders) scenario without Seeburger
Pls let me know if anybody have blogs for the same
    Regards

    Hi Rachit,
    >>Can anybody send me blogs to convert IDoc structure to EDI or EDI to IDoc structure using Conversion Agent or using JAVA Mappings.
Using conversion Agent there is no coding, If you have a conversion agent insatlled in your landscape you will have better understanding..
Also java code for IDoc to EDI have some problems:
    1. The EDI format differs based on requirement so there will always be a customized code for it.. Like we have IDco to EDIFACT and ANSX12...
    2. Because most of these codes are propriety materials I doubt whether anyone be sharing the complete code here in SDN. Better to have a java consultant at your end and put him with your requirement.. From the reply in above threads you should be clear that what you are looking for can be done from java coding..
    All the best

  • Converting a flat file to IDOC

    Greetings to All,
I have a requirement where i need to convert an IDOC (flat) file to IDOC.
the idoc is SHPMNT04.Presently i am trying to implement it using FCC at the sender side as the flat file is fixed length type.
Can any one suggest me a better method like using XSLT or Java mapping which could make my work smarter as i am Finding it very difficult to count and write the FCC for the IDOC which is have more than 60 segments.
Any help will be greatly admired.
    Thnaks,
    Anika.

    Hi
I am still having a doubt if this method will work on real time scenario.I mean i have to pick files
from an 3rd party FTP location (polling and picking as and when i get a file starting with say
ABC*.txt).Added to this there will be issue related to the volume of file(1000 per day),will that create
    any performance issues.
It is now that you are sharing the complete scenario/ problem , just have a glance from your first post at the top & the replies, because its the problem statement that steers the discussion.
Making the files available for the Report is a seperate task. You have to develop FTP-to-File XI scenario (or regular ftp process to send files across, which normally will not be allowed in XI server), I dont see any other way, if any, I 'assume' that it might complicate the situation.
Performance - it is not something to do with your scenario alone, but the overall system load, configuration etc. (b.t.w 1000 is normal)
Can we schedule a job for running the report periodically?
Yes, scehdule a batch job calling this Report (with necessary variants) with required frequency or exact time (if there is any agreement with sender)
    I have started a POC
I appreciate that, best way at this moment. you can reverse engineer from the errors to configure your scenario. for any reason,if you think it does not work, you can always stop and/or look for different solution.
    need your help
    - Definitely I will share my thoughts, if time permits
how will i get the flat file xml(IDOC) in the source side
do you mean the source structure, you can use the same structure as your target.
once you are convinced with your solution approach, then it is better to close this thread & start a new one with new issues, for more views & suggestions and better readability.
@Rajesh - I appreciate your efforts to solve the issue , but the below is not correct & possible, w.r.t this issue
Here what you need is to do configure File Sender CC with NFS protocol.

  • Reg: File to Idoc Hierarchial mapping

    Hi Experts,
We have a scenario of flat file to idoc where in we have 4 segments(01 to 04)(with hierarchies) in source file to be mapped to idoc. We have followed Riaz blog    http://www.riyaz.net/blog/xipi-convert-flat-file-to-deeply-nested-xml-structures-using-only-graphical-mapping/.on mapping flat file to deeply nested structures .
We have encountered one unique issue in the intermediate level mapping where, when assigning hte id numbers, the instances of one segment are grouped together.  This is creating a problem.
Ex: in source str we have nodes in the order
    01
    02
    03
    04
    02
    03
    04 and so on..
After the test of intermediate mapping, it shows teh follw sequence:
    01
    02
    02
    03
    03
    04..
The node seq in the target str should have been similar to that of the source.. but here its not so..
if i am using just one instance of 01 till 04 nodes.. the final xml str is created perfect.. Can any please let me know what could be the possible error??
Or please let me know if there is any other simple procedure to finish this.
Thanks in advance, awaiting your reply..
    Best Regards,
    Giri
