XI in SAP to SAP environment
How well does XI fit into an SAP - SAP environment.
We are migrating data from 4.5B to ECC 6.0.
We can use ALE for the communication between these systems
But how can we justify the usage of XI.
Docs or links on this would also help me
-Naveen.
Hi,
In case of SAP to SAP environement where u have ALE/IDoc configuration which can do wonders the Q does arise how do we justify this?
1. In such scenario its more to do with landscape perspective. If the company has a policy that all the Interface will go through a middleware then u will have to use XI irrespective of SAP to SAP or SAP to non-SAP. this really helps in keeping track during maintenance phase
2. If there is a uniform error handling mechanism tht the company follows then its better to use the middleware.
3. if the landscape has more then one environment of SAP when the data goes from SAP to SAP and also to non-SAP then its justified to use it.
Just my thoughts.

Can you please advice me how to get rid of this problem?
Is there any prob with MAC address resolution or loop back adapter? if yes, how to get rid of that?

ChristopherHi,
Funnily enough I downloaded this last night. I had no problems at all leaving it running for about 4 hours and it downloaded all in one go. I use a piece of software called GetRight to manage my downloads as it supports resuming and has a few other useful features. There is a free trial version you could try to see if it helps in this case.
Do you have any other possible issues with your connection that may be causing your problems?

SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 Trial Version On Windows VISTA ?
My system meets all the other requirements, except that I have vista on my laptop. Has any1 tried installing SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 Trial Version on vista before...??? Is it possible???
Hi Ripudaman,
CE trial version does not support vista .. Vista version is suppose to get release in 2008. Following is the system requirement mentioned in the document
Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows 2003 Server (Service Pack 1)
The J2EE Preview has also been tested successfully with Windows 2000 (SP3) and Windows XP (SP1), but is certified only for the two Windows versions above
(Note: If you use a Windows XP account without a password , SAP Management Console can not start/stop your instance via Web Service - use system services instead)
NTFS file system
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher
At least 1, 5 GB RAM, 2 GB are recommended
1.5 GHz PC or higher
7 GB free hard disk space
Monitor 1024x768 pixels or more, 256 colors
Internet Access (for CE online documentation)
If no DHCP server is available on your network (which dynamically determines the IP address) or your computer is not connected to any network, you need to install the virtual interface adapter MS Loopback Adapter.

How to configure boe.properties file in ACTool for SAP BO Distributed environment
Hi ,
I am trying to configure the ACTool for SAP BO distributed environment (dedicated BOE Server, Tomcat and Explorer) servers. I have installed SMD Agent, Host Agent and ACTool without any issues in the BOE server(CMS), but I am unable to run the ACTool in Tomcat Server(Web Tier) and Explorer servers.
1. How can we configure the boe.properties file for Tomcat Server and Explorer ser to run ACTool?
2. Is it required to install SMD_Agent and Host_Agent in Tomcat Server and Explorer server (in my case i have already installed).
3. What all parameters need to be set in boe.properties file so that ACTool will run correctly in Tomcat server and Explorer server correctly.

Is SAP net weaver environment necessary to configure/customize IC Webclient
Hello Expert,
Is SAP net weaver environment necessary to configure/customize IC Web client and Internet sales?
Please guide me.
Thanks & Regards
SatishSingle Sign On is optional.
What would happen is that the user that's using the Web Application Designer will have to have access to Portals, and the portal Sign On screen will appear once that user executes a Web Template.
It also depends on the Portal Strategy and the Security Strategy of your client. For example, the portal may only grant access to those used IDs in the Active Directory, so if your BEx WAD user is not defined in Active Directory that user will not have access to portals, and will not be able to execute the Web Template.

Problem in Installing SAP Netweaver Composition Environment.
Hi,
Iam trying to download the SAP Netweaver Composition Environment 7.1 Trial version.Which version of JDK does this support and also the version of Java Cryptographic Extension Policy Archive that i need to download in order to install?Where to download them from?
Please help.............
Points will be rewarded.
Padmalatha.KSAP NW CE 7.1 comes with SAP JDK 5, so you don't need to have any JDK installed in advance.
The JCE Policy Files can be downloaded from [http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp] --> Other Downloads at the bottom of the page.

Regarding how to configurate the sap java server environment
I've got started to develop java application using webdynpro for java, and the development environment is sap netweaver composition environment 7.1 sr3-trial version java ee only , but I have a little trouble about how to configurate the environment for connection with sap and what server configuration is necessary for java development.
Hi,
If you want to connect to a SAP back end create a JCo using the NWA. Usage: http://<host>:<port>/nwa
Once this is done you can import RFC and start accessing bacckend.
If you need to deploy this application to a SAP J2ee engine, you need to connect to the engine using
Window->Preferences->SAP AS Java
Specify the instance host and instance number
Click on the register SAP instance button.
Make this as your default SAP System.

ALEAUD in SAP - XI - SAP scenario
Hi!
My scenario is SAP 4.6C -> (IDoc adapter) XI (IDoc adapter) -> SAP 4.6C and the receiving system should send back an ALEAUD. The IDoc control record of the incoming IDoc contains the following info:
SNDPOR: port of sending system
SNDPRT: LS
SNDPRN: sender logical system
RCVPOR: XI port
RCVPRT: LS
RCVPRN: XI logical system name
Shouldn't XI send out
SNDPRN: XI logical system
and
RCVPRN: receiving logical system
to the receiving system so that ALEAUD can work? Do I need to configure a header mapping?
In the header mapping configuration in the receiver agreement I set
sender: XI business system
and
receiver: receiving business system
but the control record did not change. How do I configure header mapping correctly?
I also set the Restore Original Parties for Acknowledgements indicator which is available with SP19. "The original parties from the IDoc request message are used. This means you no longer have to maintain the alternative identifiers (for party conversion) in the Integration Directory."
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/1e642ad9cb72b5e10000000a422035/frameset.htm
Thanks for your help.
Regards, TanjaBefore I ask my questions, please note I do have a copy of the "How To Handle Acknowledgements for IDoc" How To Guide. I just need some clarification from the group.
Here are my questions:
1. XI will not send a positve acknowledgement/status to let the sender system know it made it to XI ok, correct?
2. The only status that XI itself will initiate will be if there is a techncial issue with XI, correct? (Granted the Receiver system could send a positive or negative status back to Sender System) I just want to make sure that XI will not send a status back to Sender System that equates to "Triggering EDI subsystem OK" (or something like that)
3. How does the status of an idoc get set to 12 from 03? Does that mean that I always have the program RBDMOIND configured when I am interfacing to XI in order to force the status from 03 to 12?
4. As a norm, are those who are using XI seeing a 12 status on the Sender System IDoc Status?
5. If a techical issue error occurs in XI, what specific error status will be sent back to the Sender System?(if at all) I am looking for an example status number of what to expect.
6. If we are doing SAP R/3 to a partners XI system directly and that partner does not have RBDSTATE configured on their SAP R/3 environment and there is nothing else on their XI system for ALEAUD processing, I am out of luck in determining if the IDoc actually made it to their XI system, correct?
7. The Configure Scenario 2 in the document How To Handle Acknowledgements for IDoc" How To Guide should allow us to determine "did the Idoc get to that Server" correct?
Thanks for any feedback on this,
Ian
