  • Infrastructure required for Mail Adapter

    Hi Experts,
I need to work on a Mail Adapter B2C scenario where XI sends emails to the client with XML file as attachements.
    Questions:
    1. What is the additional hardware infrastructure required to use the Mail adapter apart from the SAP XI server.
    2. How can the mails be archived somewhere, in case I do not want to store them in my inbox-->sent items folder.
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Shobhit

as for my knowledge is concerned...
there are no more requirements ...
but check the firewall issue.....and know what is the version and service pack u are using...
and check wether u require sender, receiver addresses and subject required in the mail...if go with mail package check box in the mail adapter..
check wether mails are to be sent to two or more receivers...if semicolon( will do to separate them.
and check wether SLD is done proper or not bcoz, even i was right in my scenario and there was an issues in SLD and i traced it after few days...where i delayed my work..
hmm.....if any i will get back to u shobit....

  • OCS hardware/Network Infrastructure Requirements

    Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone was willing to share their current network infrastructure for their OCS deployments.
In terms of type and specs of network cards used by the OCS servers that host the applications?
In addition to this I was wondering whether anyone has used the same windows server to host the web conferencing and voice/fax options or perhaps if this is possible.

  • NetWeaver 2004s (BI-IP) liveCache Infrastructure Requirements

    Team SAP,
One of my customers is interested in utilizing the liveCache option to manage their lock table for Integrated Planning (BI-IP).
Do we have any documentation and guidance we can provide on requirements and configuration scenarios. Some of the questions being asked include:
    1) Can the liveCache be installed on the same box where BI-IP will be running (i.e. NetWeaver 2004s production box)
    2) Is there a need to purchase new hardware, and what are the guidelines for sizing and configuration?
Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
    -M

    Hi Michael,
This functionality should documented. E.g. When you call transaction RSPLAN, there is a button "Manage Lock Server", on the first tab ("Lock Table"), there are "i"-buttons for a short introduction. For configuration information on live cache, please look at note 816730.
This technology is new with NW2004s, and we at SAP development are very much interested in your feedback. (customer scenario, numbers of concurring users, comparison to shared object based technology, etc.)
So, for best project support please involve your SAP ramp up coach in order to get into contact with the ramp up back office. This will garantuee you best support.

  • We have had a request to purchase Livecycle ES4. I am trying to find out how much this will cost and get a list of requirements needed to install and run this product,

Looking to find out what the infrastructure requirements are for this product and how it needs to be administered by our IT shop. Thanks

Complain to the Attorney General about what? There is nothing in your story worth any such complaint. They will tell you the same.
First you have payment difficulty so credit and the Edge program are not available to you. You have to be credit worthy to get any upgrade, unless you can pay full price for all those new devices.
    Can you?
You are trying to get new contract plans, but since you are having paying on time and in full issues you will not get extended credit from any carrier.
What I would do is go and port out to Boost or Virgin Mobile where you pay a reduced cost for each device and get unlimited everything for $40 to $50 a month, it is pre pay so if you don't pay you get cut off.
Verizon although with the best coverage is also the highest priced.
    Good Luck

  • SLD Requirements - Config. Is XI required?

    Greetings,
I'm building a sandbox ECC 5.0 environment (we're upgrading from 4.6B in a few months) for my config analysts. In addition to our Core apps - i.e. the old, straight forward R/3 "stuff", we're rolling out the Internet Sales App. (ISA) on Java WebAS.
I'm trying to figure out what I'll need from a software/infrastructure requirements standpoint to support "Netweaver." We want to use the SLD during and post upgrade.
I first tried to get SLD working on my Java WebAs. I couldn't get it working - i.e. pass /sldcheck transaction. It wasn't until I installed XI and put the SLD on that was I able to go through and do all the config and get it seeing all the other systems.
My question is, is XI required or did I just miss something on the initial java WebAS conig?
    Regards,
    Bob Simard

No, you do not need XI: You can point your browser to http://<hostname>:<port>/sld to do all the configuration tasks.

  • Lync network RTT requirements?

We currently have Lync Enterprise set up in one data center that does not have direct Internet connectivity.  We are planning on setting up an Edge and Director server, where the Edge server is in our DMZ in another data center.  The RTT between
these two networks is about 80ms.  Is there any documentation regarding RTT requirements (e.g. for SharePoint, RTT must be <1ms between each server in the farm)?  Is there any documentation about the placement of the Director?
    http://sharepoint.nauplius.net

The Lync server planning guide gives the following advice "Provision your network to ensure a maximum end-to-end delay (latency) of 150 milliseconds (ms) under peak load. Latency
is the one network impairment that Lync Server media components cannot reduce, and it is important to find and eliminate the weak points." The guide is available for download
here and the quote comes from Chapter 2, which deals with infrastructure requirements.
You should allow for the latency introduced by the firewall.
The Director should be on the internal network. Since the Director is used to authenticate user, it would be best to locate it wherever most of the users are located. The Director
drops out of the path once it forwards internal users to their home pool. For external users, the Director stays in the communications path, so keep this in mind when deciding on location.
Finally, you might not be aware that the Director is an optional role.
    Hope that helps.

  • Study business process requirements in sd implementation project?

how to study business process requirements in sd implementation project?

    Hi chandu,
I will suggest you first go through the document given below
SAP Implementation is the whole of processes that defines a complete method to implement SAP software in an organization. The SAP implementation method described in this entry is a generic method and not a specific implementation method as such. It is based on best practices and case studies from various literature sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete implementation method to allow any organization to plan and execute the implementation of SAP (ERP) software.
    Concept Definition
CHANGE MANAGEMENT ***Activities involved in (1) defining and installing new values, attitudes, norms, and behaviors within an organization that support new ways of doing work and overcome resistance to change; (2) building consensus among customers and stakeholders on specific changes designed to better meet their needs; and (3) planning, testing, and implementing all aspects of the transition from one organizational structure or business process to another. (www.gao.gov)
CHANGE MANAGEMENT DOCUMENTATION All documentation that is required and being delivered whilst performing change management, e.g. the functional test cases and all the other documents a new end-user of SAP requires and the various tools and approaches used to manage change by the TSO. (Anderson, 2003)
COST OF OWNERSHIP ANALYSIS Determination of where and when the costs are inquired within the context of the SAP solution stack and ongoing operations. The analysis addresses all internal and external costs, both one-time as well as recurring (Anderson, 2003)
CUTOVER The process of transitioning from one system to a new one (Anderson, 2003)
CUTOVER PLAN All documentation related to planning, preparing and executing cutover, describing how to lock down the system from a technical change management perspective, preparing the TSO for its new role and rolling out the SAP graphical user interface to all future end users. (Anderson, 2003)
DATA CENTER A data center is a facility used for housing a large amount of electronic equipment, typically computers and communications equipment. (www.wikipedia.org)
DATA CENTER REQUIREMENT A requirement for the SAP data center, i.e. a physical requirement like power requirements, a rack requirement, a network infrastructure requirement or a requirement to the network server. (Anderson, 2003)
DISASTER RECOVERY (DR) REQUIREMENT Requirement that focuses on downtime that lasts many hours to days or even weeks (Anderson, 2003)
FUNCTIONAL TEST CASE A set of conditions or variables under which a tester will determine if a certain business process works (www.wikipedia.org)
HIGH AVAILABILITY (HA) REQUIREMENT Requirements that describes the amount of time that the system needs to be available to satisfy the needs of the users. (Anderson, 2003)
INSTALLATION DOCUMENTATION All documentation related to the installation of an end-to-end SAP solution (Anderson, 2003)
OPERATIONS MANUAL The collection of current state system documentation, day-to-day and other regularly scheduled operations tasks, various installation and operations checklists and how-to process documents. (Anderson, 2003)
SAP SAP AG is the name of the biggest European software company. The head office is in Walldorf, Germany. SAP was founded in 1972 as Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung ("Systems Analysis and Product") by five former IBM employees in Mannheim, Germany. (www.wikipedia.org)
SAP IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT PLAN A comprehensive project plan that contains all products that are delivered whilst performing an SAP implementation project (Anderson, 2003)

TEST PLAN A detail of how the test will proceed, who will do the testing, what will be tested, in how much time the test will take place, and to what quality level the test will be performed. (IEEE 829)
TRAINING The acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relates to specific useful skills (www.wikipedia.org)
TRAINING PLAN Consisting of training units, a training plan is the result of hierarchical decompositions of a training goal, tailored according to the learning preferences and prior knowledge of the trainee. A plan is the means by which the trainee satisfies the goal. (www.ece.eps.hw.ac.uk/)
TSO Technical Support Organization. The people that are committed to implementation and management of SAP. (Anderson, 2003)
TSO CHART A chart that depicts the structure of the TSO. (Anderson, 2003)
    Activity Sub-Activity Description
Project preparation Craft solution vision Refine and communicate a SOLUTION VISION of the future-state of the SAP solution, to sketch a design that meets both business and financial requirements. The focus should be on the companyu2019s core business and how the SAP solution will better enable that core business to be successful.
Design and initially staff the SAP TSO Design and staff the key positions of the SAP Technical Support Organization (TSO), the organization that is charged with addressing, designing, implementing and supporting the SAP solution.
Sizing and blueprinting Perform cost of ownership analysis Perform a COST OF OWNERSHIP ANALYSIS to determine how to get the best business solution for the least money i.e. to determine where and when the costs are incurred within the context of the SAP solution stack.
Identify high availability and disaster recovery requirements Determine all HIGH AVAILABILITY and DISASTER RECOVERY REQUIREMENTS, to plan what to do with later downtime of the SAP system
Engage SAP solution stack vendors Select the best SAP hardware and software technology partners for all layers and components of the SAP SOLUTION STACK, based on a side-by-side sizing comparison
Staff TSO Staff the bulk of the TSO, i.e. fill the positions that directly support the near-term objectives of the implementation, which are to develop and begin installation/implementation of the SAP data center.
Execute training Train the various members of the SAP TSO, like data center specialists, high availability specialist and network specialists and train the end-users to give all the required SAP knowledge and skills
Setup SAP DATA CENTER Build a new SAP DATA CENTER facility or transform the current data center into a foundation capable of supporting the SAP SOLUTION STACK
Perform installations Install the (My)SAP components and technological foundations like a web application server or enterprise portal.
Round out support for SAP Identify and staff the remaining TSO roles, e.g. roles that relate to help desk work and other such support providing work.
SAP functional development Address Change Management Develop a planned approach to the changes in the organization. The objective is to maximize the collective efforts of all people involved in the change and minimize the risk of failure of implementing the changes related to the SAP implementation.
Address SAP systems and operations management Create a foundation for the SAP systems management and SAP computer operations, by creating a SAP OPERATIONS MANUAL and by evaluating SAP management applications.
Perform functional, integration and regression tests Test the SAP business processes, by executing functional tests to ensure that business processes work, integration tests to ensure that the organizationu2019s business processes work together with other business processes and regression tests to prove that a specific set of data and processes yield consistent and repeatable results.
Final Preparation Perform systems and stress tests Plan, script, execute and monitor SAP STRESS TESTS, to see if the expectations of the end users, defined in service level agreements, will be met.
Prepare for cutover Plan, prepare and execute the CUTOVER, by creating a CUTOVER PLAN that describes all cutover tasks that have to be performed before the actual go-live
Go Live Turn on the SAP system for the end-users
    Hope this will help.
    Reward Point if helpful.
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • App Infrastructure Issues

I have read many articles about how to setup the app model in SharePoint 2013 and am running into an issue that I hope someone can assist with.   First my setup...

If I access the site using the server name and I click on the app it routes to

  • HSM performance / requirements

The Secure Deployment Guidelines document has a small section on HSMs.  That document lists authentication performance numbers for a network connected HSM as between 19 and 32 authentication events per second.  Is that true for license generation as well?
Reading specifications on listed HSMs, vendors list RSA events anywhere from 500 to 6000 transactions per second for network connected HSMs.  What is FAXS requiring of the HSM that is obtaining only 19-32 events per second?
Given that an HSM seems the surest way of a compliant (and safe) deployment, the scalability concerns around an HSM is high.  500 to 6000 tps is far more affordable than 19-32, but i do not understand what demands FAXS has that are causing that drop.
Any insight on this and on HSM performance would be appreciated.

    Thanks for the information Eric.
    > Using a local HSM (PCI-card) was as performant as not using an HSM at all
Thats a bit surprising.  i would have expected better performance using an HSM card which is more specialized to the specific cryptographic functions than software on random hardware.  Other than the fear of degradation, its rather moot given the security requirements when *not* using an HSM.  Without a heavy undertaking, an HSM is pretty much required for a secure deployment.  Even with an HSM there is considerable process and infrastructure requirement to feel comfortable.
i'm trying to understand how it is possible to deploy a geographically distributed and scalable solution that meets Adobe's security requirements using an HSM, which means getting some feel for what performance will be and the cost of the HSM platform.
When looking at vendor specifications, what should i be looking at to get a ballpark as to how performant an HSM will be with FAXS?
For license serving, are the calls to the HSM purely RSA signing operations?
Or is the HSM being used for other crypto functions?
How many calls to the HSM are made for each license serving event?  Two?  One for the transport key and one for the license key?  Meaning any transactions per second an HSM claims essentially would be halved to get license generations per second?
Without know specifically what the cryptographic load being sent to the HSM is and how many of them must be handled, its hard to evaluate.
    Any assistance is much appreciated.

But in my case we have already defined a blank host header for SharePoint Apps that we create previously.
Is it because we not using latest patch as Steve Peschka that March PU fixed this issue?
Any other solution we should look to fix this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Your contoso-apps.com
wildcard address should point to one of the WFE servers, not the Application server.  (Actually it should point to the load balancer for the WFEs, but you don't mention a load balancer.)  Apps generate a dynamic HTML web site on the WFE server.  If
you point to the application server it may not be able to deliver that content if the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Service isn't turned on.  (That's what makes a server a WFE)
