XI...infrastructure

Question

can any let me know ur suggestions on the following things
a) To be able to understand the application requirements
b) To understand the current mode of communication between SAP and other systems
c) analysing the load on the XI infrastrucutre currently and the transaction its handling
d) With the deployment of BMF (application being developed) how much of incremental load
e) Recommnedation on infrastructure and capacity from XI point of view

Hi Alan,
I assume that your ECC is ent. central component
1.why would you want ECC on your XI installation?
you wouldn't be able to use RFC adapter and RFC created on the ECC anyway (at least on the same client)
2.I believe XI is supposed to be a separate component without any business transactions on the ABAP side
it's used for sending/receiving/monitoring messsages
3.If you used XI for business transactions XI performance could drop and you wouldn't know how it may behave on the production
+ the DEV,QA,PRD philosophy assumes that each system is exactly the same as the next one isn't that right? (would you be sure that all of your scenarios from QA will work on a totaly different environment of the PRD server?)
