XI Objects in SOLAR02??

Hi,
Is there an component update that brings XI objects to the selection of Development "Types" in SOLAR02? or is there a way to somehow customize this list?

The main utility of Config Tab are as follows:
1) List BC Sets/ IMG Object references against relevant Process Steps
2) Carry out IMG activities in the respective logical components straight from Solution Manager
Both these steps require RFC connections to be established between SolMan and those Satellite Systems, as well as establishment of Project IMG in those systems from SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN
3) Upload documents on Configuration done (especially of Non-SAP systems) against relevant Process Steps
Having done these, one can generate 'Configuration Guide' from the main menu. It would include all these IMG/BC Set references and also include the 'body' of the word documents that is uploaded. One can exercise some filters before generation of the Config. Guide.
Having generated the Config Guide, you can consider it as a deliverable from Functional Stream to the client and even store that document in Solution Manager itself at some top node.

Creation of New Custom Development Object in Solar02

Hi,
We are trying to create an object type of Form for a new custom development object in solar02 under tab Development,and for this I get an error that the object doesn’t exist in development environment.
Based on my analysis, it looks like Solution Manager only allows to link pre-existing development objects but not creating new objects. Is that right? If not please advice how can we add new custom objects through solution manager.

hi,
solar01/02 is the tools for documenation, it is not for creating objects.
basically it should allow you to enter any developement objects names, irerespective of whether they are created in the back end system or not.
please provide the screenshots.

Hi everyone
I need some fundamental info on Solar02. Please tell me how could i best utilize the Configuration Tab in SOLAR02 transaction. What are the features and functionalities it provides which can be used to control the configuration of the SAP system.

How to represent and document BI, SBOJ in an implementation project

Hello
We are working in an implementation project modeling all the scenarios, proceses and process steps. We want to represent as well all the BI, SBOJ and BPC information. We are thinking of creating specific scenario for those. We would like to get inputs about best practices regarding representation of BI and so on in Solution Manager, how to prepare the blueprint, what type of "functional" documentation, technical one, etc.. Then, how to manage the different objects in SOLAR02, what is available in config tab, development tab, only documents or we can have access from SOLAR02 to the different objects, and then navigate? I would like to have your view on this subject.

E2E Change Analysis Function

Hi All,
Is E2E Change Analysis functionality of SolMan 7.1 able to track changes made in configuration object of Solar02-config tab? How do I know who has changed what configuration object and what changes has been done?

Hi Shaun,
Do you know transaction solar_eval? It is used to report many data from the project/solutions/test workbench area. It currently has no option to report the history of changes of the objects, but when the SP05 for solman 7.1 comes out, it'll enhance this functionality adding the option to report the history of changes of the tabs or the history of changes of the documents.

Solman4.0 in Realization

Hello Experts..
We are implementing Solution manager 4.0 for our SAP implementation.
As we are moving from business blue print stage to realization and we moved all configuration structure from ARIS.
My question here is how to migrate the configuration from DEV system to quality system. Do i need to create the transport request explicitly or system interns creates the request?
And my another question is i'm unable to add Z objects in SOLAR02 ..i mean it doesn't take me to satlillite system.and how to create transport request for these custom developed objects?

Configuration thro' SolMan

Hello!
For our project, we have made the method of configuration is
through SolMan. At the same time we hae kept the SPRO of the
target system also open. Some team members do the config
at the target system directly and set the status in SolMan
as "open" or " complete" as the case may be. The also upload the
config documentation later.
Is this an acceptable practice?
When the config is done thro' SolMan (that is highlighting the IMG object
in Solar02 and using the config icon that takes you to the target IMG)
what happens in the background? Are any tables updated in SolMan or is it just
that SolMan takes you to target IMG? Any distinct advantages in following this
method?
Please share your experiences.

Mike - Advantages to managing config through Solution Manager include:
1. Visibility into the IMG Objects to be configed
2. Specific accountability for config of IMG Objects
3. Better control over documentation of config changes.
In my opinion, your approach of setting the status in SolMgr is acceptable. I have seen where some customers lock down the DEV client so config is only done through SolMgr. Other customers use your approach. I guess it has to do with how much oversight is necessary.
To my knowledge, there are not any table changes which happen in SolMgr. SolMgr is simply the conduit to the DEV system. All changes are still made on the DEV system.

Roles in Solar02

Hi!
In Solar02 transaction, under column ' type' I see a object name ' rolle'(roles). Has anyone used this feature? Does it help in building security roles and profiles.

SOLAR02-replace logical component

Dear Friends,
I am working with Solution Manager 4.0, patch level SP12. In SOLAR01 i have finalised my business structure. Now in SOLAR02, i have assigned some logical component to link to satellite systems. i am having about 500 transactions in SOLAR02. Later point of time i realized that i have wrongly assigned the logical components to my 500 transactions. Now i want to replace my existing logical component with new one.
In Sol Man, i am having the option to mass replacement of logical component.
(Ths path is, Edit---Replace logical component)
Here, i am entering, Log. Component to be Replaced & Replace with logical component. If i do the consistency check, i am getting message that , " Log component SAPR3 can be replaced with ZSAPR3".
But if i save, i am getting following error.

A lock requested by calling an ENQUEUE function module cannot be provided because the object in question has already been locked by its own transaction.
Technical Information: The C_ENQUEUE routine returns the following values:

COLLISION_UNAME = ZS933SENTHIL
System Response
The ENQUEUE function module triggers an appropriate exception. If this exception was not intercepted by the application program, it leads automatically to the active SAP transaction being cancelled.
Procedure
Once the ENQUEUE function module is called, the application program should intercept this exception and react to it appropriately.

Hi Senthil,
you have selected a tab that can contain logical components and then started the replace functionality. Select a tab that does not contain logical components (e. g. the gen. Documentation tab).

Appreciate your reply. As you know the validations kick in based on your input on the screen, kind of mostly part of PAI of the screen (0750 in this case). But my requirement is to prevent this change in the first place, not validating the user's input after a change option is given to the user.
If you know if and how we can achieve this, please share your thoughts.

IMG object is not Coming : Urgent

Dear Experts,
In SOLAR02 txn with IMG Object assignment when I am finding the Objects , that time from the structure all nodes for the configuration is not coming in the active project. How to resolve this?
I have attached SPRO txn here & If I am doing config from here , Customizing requests are not getting generated with respect to Solman Project.
I have checked with Other projects , there all nodes are coming & also I have tried with same road map selection in the active project with the previous, though the problem persisting.
Please give some suggestions.

Hi,
Navigation to check the "Inversion" Option :
1) Goto Tcode: RSA6 at the R/3 side.
2) Go to that Datasource in display mode/double click. U will come across all the fields in ur datasource against which there are options SELECTION, HIDE FIELD, INVERSION, FIELD ONLY.
3)Check whether the INVERSION option is CHECKED for ur FIELD.

Configuration Objects

Hi All,
I am new to Solution Manager. In SOLAR02 t-code, i have to maintain 'Configuration Objects' for configuration we are doing in ECC 6.0 in configuration tab. So can any one tell me how to find the configuration object.

There are two options.
- If you had chosen to build your project structure from the BPR (Business Process Repository) this tab would be pre-populated with the standard content. All you have to do is edit this to suit your requirements.
The other ways is to group the objects manually. The steps are,
-Choose object type ' IMG object' under the 'type' column in ' Configuration' tab.
-Your default logical component will default or you choose one from the dropdown in the next column ' Logical component'
- When you F4 in the next column ' Object' it takes you to the target IMG where you can pick and choose the IMG objects for the referenced process in the structure.

Authorization object to lock the SOLAR 02 config structure

hi guys ,
does anyone know of a authorization object which can help lock the configuration structure in SOLAR02,
Users should be able to change the structure ,rename it etc but they shouldnt be able to delete any nodes in the Config Structure .

Link between implementation project configuration (SOLAR02) and ChaRM?

Dears;
We want to benefit from listing all IMG Objects and developments in an implementation project (SOLAR02) to control our transports as we have ChaRM activated on the affected systems.
But there seems to be no link/control which has several consequences:
*Status of "changes" in ChaRM and related developments in the implementation project have to be tracked seperately
*There is no link between the development in the project (SOLAR02) and the created TR.
*There is no limitation/control in the content of the TR if it concerns items not listed in your project => how to check if the project is up-to-date?
Are my assumptions correct? Or am I forgetting something?
What is the experience in maintaining changes (transports) for implementation project? On what level? Linked with the structure in Solar02 or completely independant?
I have done quite some reading around the topics but documentation around project management via SolMan and ChaRM via SolMan seems never to be really connected? (only the overall status of the project and the activation of charm via SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN)

Thank you for the reply. Concerning these points:
1) This is done... No questions there
2) The "and" in your sentence means that I myself have to do both things? So there is no link?
So this does mean that (what my understanding was) I have to create a normal change via ChaRM but under the project for example a certain business scenario. That developers work on all topics related and should "remember" that if they put something under that transport they should verify if this is documented in the SOLAR02?
If then the change is put to testing they should manually update the status of everything related to this transport in the SOLAR02...
