  • Administration Utilities - System Health Monitor - alui 6.1

I'm curious if there is a way I can turn the System Health Monitor utility into a portlet?
It seems like there should an easy way to do this, but I can't seem to find it. Any insight you might be able to provide on either the System Health Monitor or the administration utilities. Or anything that might help for that matter, would be be most appreciated.
    Thanks,

Hi geoffgarcia, thanks for looking into my question. I have tried to pass the existing URL back in, as you have suggested, but with no luck. For example:
    > Create new Web Service : URL : http://[MYPORTALSERVER]/portal/server.pt?open=space&name=diagnostic&psname=ObjMgr&psid=3&cached=true&control=EditorStart&editorType=10
and then generate a portlet to that service. When I add that portlet to my homepage it throws a
"Error      Error - The server has experienced an error. Try again or contact your portal administrator if you continue experiencing problems."
error, but doesn't log the error. View source shows the error to be
"Current User does not have sufficient permission to object with id = 52: com.plumtree.server.marshalers.PTException.... blah blah blah...."
Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing a glaringly obvious setting/configuration?
    Thanks again,

    Great question!
Unfortunately, System Health in Lenovo Companion requires Lenovo Solution Center: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/migr-73783. Unfortunately, Lenovo Solution Center is not available on the Yoga 2 (13”). We apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Daily System Health monitoring report from SOLMAN

    Hi Experts,
I am working on a project where I need to triiger a consolidated system health report from sol man, much like early watch report.
Only thing is that it should be generated daily for each system.
    Well That makes the expectation.
    Progress so far :-
         a. Applied E2E120 for managed system ie Technical monitoring is working for that system.
    Challenge :-
       a. Generating a consolidated report, with checklists for system logs, dumps, qrfc / trfc's. As Technical monitoring is giving these info separately.
       b. Options in technical monitoring are too many and not sure which can deliver what i am looking for.
              a. IT Performance reporting
              b. Service level reporting
              c. SDCCN Reporting.
              d. or automatic configure reporting.
       c. The report has to be generated periodically only once in a day. It should not be alert monitoring that an system alert triggers a mail and management is bombarded with too many mails.
Any valuable suggestion will be very helpful and will certainly be rewarded.
    Thanks
    Abhijeet

    Hi Jhansi,
few things first, I have really liked your blogs and forum discussion on Sol Man. They have been really very helpful.
Now, after spending around 2-3 days on it, Closest bet is  "IT Performance reporting". With this i am compromising with consolidated report. (Just hoping management agrees for it )
But here is the new challenge I am going through. It is the web templates to use for specific checklist.
    I used below link.
    http://help.sap.de/saphelp_sm71_sp05/helpdata/en/3f/ecbef23769488f806177717adee541/content.htm?frameset=/en/a3/074aa01bbe4662b99bc20ec5263cf8/frameset.htm&current_toc=/en/81/6f8fe54f854ef2bd412c8660f5ed6e/plain.htm&node_id=463
I need template for System logs, qrfc, trfc, PI messages etc. It is not present in the link provided. Even searched on SMP, it was not available. Can we manually create and use the web templates.
Also when i used such templates, I am getting following error message in the monitoring
    Let me know your inputs.
    Thanks

  • Client System health certificate name issue

    Hi,
System health certificate is generated using HRA server name for clients system.
There is no event log error for this. Can anyone suggest what can be the issue here.
    Thanks,
    Sridhar
    Sridhar

    Hi,
Could you offer more information about your environment? Such as your HRA configuration screenshot, now we assume you are using the intranet enterprise CA, because the HRA
will only request health certificates from the CA configured first in the order, unless that server is unavailable or has been identified as unresponsive, therefore maybe you have configure the incorrect CA order.
You can use the following procedure to modify the priority of CAs used by HRA, or to remove CAs from the HRA configuration. HRA will only request certificates from the first
CA configured in the list, unless that CA has been marked as unavailable.
To configure the order or to delete certification authorities using the Windows interface
    1.Open the HRA console.
2.In the console tree, click Certification Authorities .
3.Right-click a CA name in the list of servers. Click Move Up to increase preference for this server in the order. Alternatively, click Move Down to decrease preference for
    this server in the order.
4.To delete a CA from the list, right-click the CA name, and then click Delete .

  • System Health Checks Utilities

    Hi Linux Gurus,
I need to understand some of the outputs of basic system health checks utilities - vmstat, netstat, iostat. As DBA point of view when I run any of the above utilities - what things I should look for. How can I know, the network traffic is high or network is not performing properly by using netstat. How can I know that the system I/O is high. Also I saw that there are many flags for these utilities which are very helpful to format or limit the output to a certain extent.
I will really appreciate the help on this topic.

    Hi All,
I need to know the step by step procedures to do the system health check-up in SAP.
like the following points is very much required
    1)  Modified supplier master details in particular period.
    2) Modified customer master details in a particular period.
    3) No of cancelled transaction details.
    4) Long pending sales order details, it means order has been booked on 10 days before but not yet delivered.
    5) User wise transaction entered details for the specific periods.

I am also having problems with the new Lenovo Solution Center.
The Thinkvantage button wich used to work great in conjuntion with the Thinkvantage Toolbox does not work with LSC.
With the Thinkvantage Toolbox the mainscreen was clear: you took a glance at it an you knew if there were any problems.
The Solution Center is chaotic the menu structure isn't as well thought out as it was in the Toolbox and the animations and the use of colors make it look like a circus instead of a business tool.
i've already adressed my concerns in this topic:
    Introducing Lenovo Solution Center (LSC)

  • System health log file

I have a set of SQL server system health log file that I would like to examine but can't read them in Management Studio. How can I open these log file, the file extension is .xel?
    thank you;
    Saeed

    Hello ,
Best practice to use the extended sessions to capture the health information and save it to a file that is located outside of SQL Server. Therefore, you can still access it if there is a failure. The following example saves the output from an event session
    to a file:
    CREATE EVENT SESSION [diag]
    ON SERVER
    ADD EVENT [sp_server_diagnostics_component_result] (set collect_data=1)
    ADD TARGET [asynchronous_file_target] (set filename='c:\temp\diag.xel')
    GO
    ALTER EVENT SESSION [diag]
    ON SERVER STATE = start
    GO
below reads the extended session log file:
    SELECT
    xml_data.value('(/event/@name)[1]','varchar(max)') AS Name
    , xml_data.value('(/event/@package)[1]', 'varchar(max)') AS Package
    , xml_data.value('(/event/@timestamp)[1]', 'datetime') AS 'Time'
    , xml_data.value('(/event/data[@name=''component_type'']/value)[1]','sysname') AS Sysname
    , xml_data.value('(/event/data[@name=''component_name'']/value)[1]','sysname') AS Component
    , xml_data.value('(/event/data[@name=''state'']/value)[1]','int') AS State
    , xml_data.value('(/event/data[@name=''state_desc'']/value)[1]','sysname') AS State_desc
    , xml_data.query('(/event/data[@name="data"]/value/*)') AS Data
    FROM
    SELECT
    object_name as event
    ,CONVERT(xml, event_data) as xml_data
    FROM
    sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file('C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log\*.xel', NULL, NULL, NULL)

  • T400 thinkvantage system health and diagnostics reading memory speed as 667 not 1066

Hi, just got a T400 2765-T6U (fresh install win 7 IBM genuine install) on ebay and it is listed as having 3gb of DDR3 PC-3 8500 1066 ram. but when I run the thinkvantage system health and diagnostics program the scan says: memory DDR2 667 Mhz.
I am certain that the installed ram is DDR-3 8500 because I looked at it.
My concern is that for some reason even though the computer has the faster memory it is not running at the 1066 clock speed.
PS >I cant install any other software because I am returning it to the seller as it has a bad spot on the screen. He is offering a replacement but it will be an exact replacement so I really need to know why this reading is incorrect. I may ask for cash back.because of this reading. I dont understand why the thinkvantage system health and diagnostics is saying DDR2 667 Mhz and not DDR3 1066 Mhz (which IS installed)..
Is the Thinkvantage program giving me a false reading?
Is there anywhere else in the compuer OS that I can see the memory details and clock speed?
The Bios only shows the amout of Ram.
    Thanks!

use HWinfo32 to check the ram speed.

  • NAP Agent - System Health Agent

    Hi !
I'm working on a NAP solution and I am looking for informations about "third party health agent".
I want to know if it is possible to develop a Health Agent by our own or is it just reserve for same of the Microsoft's Partners.
I explain my point, if one of my client use a special Linux distribution in his industrial network, is it possible to create a Health agent which work on this distribution if we use NAP ?
I know that some people have already ask about this subject. A found an other topic but the question is a little different here because I'm talking about Operating Systems.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Looks like there is a way to provide NAP service to non-windows OS clients, please refer to the following blog:
NAP clients for Linux and Macintosh are available

  • Win 7 System Health Report Does Not Detect Installed Antivirus Application

    Hello all,
To test your PC for this problem go to: Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools > Click on the Advanced tools link (top left menu) and then click on the Generate a system report link (at the bottom of the page). Now, about 60 seconds later, your report should be completed and you should be able to see if your antivirus was detected (or not).
In my case, it was not detected (as is the case for many other Win 7 users), so if that bugs you and you want it fixed, please follow this link to obtain a temporary patch from Microsoft:   http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2482947

  • Syspolicy_purge_history - Step3 - Erase Phantom System Health Records. - FAILS.

Hello, recently uninstalled all of SQL 2008 Shared features components in leaving just the SQL engine intact.
Afterwards notice the syspolicy_purge_history job has been failing at Step3 mentioning:
The process could not be created for step 3 of job 0x6F6178461B7373468A20C1DB8A6F5C83 (reason: The system cannot find the file specified).  The step failed.
Does anyone know how this can be fixed?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi techresearch7777777,
The error could be caused by that the SQLPS.exe file cannot be found. Please perform the below steps to troubleshoot this issue.
    1. Execute the following statements to check the location of SQLPS.exe file.
    SELECT * FROM msdb.dbo.syssubsystems WHERE start_entry_point ='PowerShellStart'
    2. Verify the 'SQLPS.exe' file is located in the path as per step 1.
    3. If you cannot find the SQLPS.exe in the path above, search for SQLPS.exe on the server.
        a. If the SQLPS.exe file exists on the server, correct the path recorded in the msdb.dbo.syssubsystems table by using the following statements, then restart SQL Server Agent Service and check if there are some issues with syspolicy_purge_history
    job.
    Use msdb;
    GO
    sp_configure 'allow updates', 1 ;
    RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE ;
    GO
    UPDATE msdb.dbo.syssubsystems SET agent_exe='<full_path>' WHERE start_entry_point ='PowerShellStart';
    GO
    sp_configure 'allow updates', 0;
    RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE ;
    GO
        b. If the SQLPS.exe doesn’t exists on the server, I suspect that it has been uninstalled. In order to obtain SQLPS module , you need to install the SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack.

  • Cisco Prime Network Control System Health Monitor Reflected XSS

    Apologies for the n00b question,
I am a security manager not a Cisco guru so please bear with me
Our Nessus scanner has picked this vulnerability up
Nessus states that there is no fix
Looking on Cisco's bug search the status is set to fixed,
    https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCud18375
I found this article on Cisco's website
Multiple Vulnerabilities in the WLSE Appliance - Cisco 2011-12-10
There are two vulnerabilities that exist in the CiscoWorks Wireless LAN Solution Engine (WLSE). The first is a cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that may allow an attacker to gain administrative privileges on the system. The second is a local privilege escalation vulnerability that can be used by an attacker who already has authenticated access to the command line interface to obtain access to the underlying operating system. Cisco has made free software available to address this vulnerability for affected customers. This advisory is available at http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20060419-wlse
Is WLSE part of WCS or am I grasping at straws here? Our techies don't seem to think so
We are currently running CISCO Wireless Controller System (WCS) running on Version 7.0.240.0 which is end of life
Is there an upgrade path for newer software?
Has anyone else encountered this issue
    http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/830316

    1. Its possible but some sort of lock/bug is preventing the removal of the controller. Is the controller reachable? Have you attempted to restart NCS to see if you are able to remove the controller afterwards?
