XI POC scenarios

Hi,
My customer is starting a big SOA project and chose WBI as his main broker. He also understands that XI is a must for him. He asked me inorder to be prepared for the XI project to come up with different scenarios in XI inorder to evaluate the tool.
Wha would you suggest as possible scenarios ?

Hi,
If the landscape involves much of SAP systems, then do the poc for all types of scenarios like Proxy, Idoc and RFC to non-SAP systems. and mainly look into WebService Scenarios plus files with good volume of data. These will be good to show the demo..
Also go thru existing SAP delivered demos, to show the examples.

  • File to RFC Structure mapping

    Hi All
This is the first time I am going to work on customized mapping for the following requirement, please give your inputs.
I am working on File to Proxy Scenario where I have created custom proxy using standard RFC Function Module.
I have created my source data type, message type and service interface. The target structure I got by importing corresponding RFC structure and created service interface and proxy for the same.
Now I am trying for graphical mapping here to map file structure to RFC structure. Can you please tell if I have to consider whether its header data or item data. I mean how can I mention that there will be multiple entries of item.
Please let me know if mentioning in data type i.e 1 to unbound is sufficient and no need to do anything specially while mapping them to targe RFC tables.
Also, please let me know if my approach is correct. Thanks for your inputs.

if you are asking about how to actually map a file to a RFC/Proxy structure please note that such requirements are defined by the business. The logic is owned by the customer.
But in case you are trying a POC scenario then all you need to consider is to make sure the mandatory fields and segments are mapped in the RFC/Proxy structure

  • XML errors message (Product key not found/Invalid) in SNC5.1

    Hi,
I am working on SNC project which includes POC scenario.I have completed all the required configuration in R/3 4.6c and SNC5.1 system. The master data (mat, plant, vendor and Info records) are CIFed from R/3 to SNC, BP and MoT created in SNC. All the MD BAdIs are implemented in SNC. I am trying to post a PO from R/3 to SNC, IDOCS are successfully generated, PI has converted the IDOCS into XML messages, but i am getting XML error in SNC system (sxmb_moni) which states-
    1) Product key 000000000123456 (category ID) not found
    2) Item 00001: Product is missing or invalid
    3) Order, item 00001: Product 000000000123456 does not exist
    4) BOL processing failed. XML-message inbound processing has been terminated.
I am able to post the PO successfully in SNC Web UI which has alpha numeric product number (eg- 1120-110), but products with numerical value leading zeroes (eg- 000000012345) do not get posted. These product IDs give error in SNC sxmb_moni.
I have set up the output format of product number with 40.
    Appreciate your help.
Is there any kind of configuration required for leading zeroes in any of the systems (R/3,PI or SNC)
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Bharath,
Were you able to over come the error for products in the XML message? I have same issue, can you please briefly point me in right direction?
I am facing the error message " Product key 0000000000xxxxxxx (category ID) not found". can you please briefly mention how did you resolve?
In my case, the XML message had product number '000000000070000598' and I tried to implement BAdI to make the product number appear as '70000598' and still it failed.
    Thank you in advance

  • SRM business systems

In an SRM POC scenario, we set up the SRM business systems individually in PI dev, qa and prod without setting them transport targets. Now we have a full blowm SRM live system but unfortunately the SLD set was never changed. If we create groups in dev qa and prod in PI landscape would it affect the existing interfaces live. For example, if there is a SRD already created in PID SLD and SRT in PIQ SLD. If we create SRD and SRT as transport targets and move it QA, would it affect the already existing SRT business system??
    Teresa

Thanks. But when you create the groups and move the transport would it create problems to interfaces running in QA and PROD? I am assuming since the GUID's are different would it create problems when it sees a new SRT imported from Dev?

  • SAPUI5 on HANA applications in Portal?

    Hello All,
I would like to integrate the SAPUI5 applications consuming data from HANA database into SAP portal. I did ask my friend "GOOGLE" about the possibilities and found that one possible way would be like this.
Note that this iView template is mainly intended for ABAP-based scenarios.
What does the above statement actually mean? Does that mean, this is possbile for only applications consuming data from ERP?
If so, can anyone suggest some resource or ideas how it could be achieved with SAPUI5 applications on HANA.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

I had similar questions some time ago and did not get any really exploitable answers till today: Integrating UI5 applications in EP with local system object
In fact the practical idea is simple: take an UI5-plugins enriched Kepler (Luna?), write a native UI5 application and deploy it on your portal. Integration can be using available templates (you will need an backend loop, I have no idea how to motivate this effort) or URL iView. The context of data consumption within your application is entirely independent from this process and is up to you, in your case its HANA consumption as you mentioned. Of course you will need know-how on it, but its in fact not a portal question, take a look to available how-to's.
I tryed a similar POC scenario for Fiori launchpad on portal and it worked more or less well for me. For my self it was something to play around with, imho: in current delivered quality (7.4 SP9 with last patches) its nothing I would suggest for a customer of my. There are serious bugs and restrictions on AS Java regarding this topic (e.g. new theme desginer (1890375), integration questions and so on). So if you are thinking about to sell this to somebody, think twice , but this is my very subjective imho.
    cheers

  • SAP ICH Multi ship to location scenario in POC

    Hi All,
In SAP ICH 5.0 Purchase Order collaboration  scenario it possible to map Purchase Order having more than one ship to location?
For example:Purchase Order having Purchase Organization say X and ship to location Y and Z both Y and Z are Production plant in SAP ICH.
Is it possible to create PO with Purchase organization X and ship to location Y, Z both are Production plant in SAP ICH 5.0?
    Thanks,

    Hi Nikhil,
Can you please let me know where we mentioned the "ship to location" during PO creation.

  • Questions before an internal lab POC (on old underperformant hardware)

    Hello VDI users,
NB: I initially asked this list of questions to my friends at the
SunRay-Users mailing list, but then I found this forum as a
    more relevant place.
It's a bit long and I understand that many questions may have
already been answered in detail on the forum or VDI wiki. If it's
not too much a burden - please just reply with a link in this case.
I'd like this thread to become a reference of sorts to point to our
    management and customers.
I'm growing an interest to try out a Sun VDI POC in our lab
with VirtualBox and Sunrays, so I have a number of questions
popping up. Not all of them are sunray-specific (in fact, most
are VirtualBox-related), but I humbly hope you won't all flame
    me for that?
I think I can get most of the answers by experiment, but if
anyone feels like sharing their experience on these matters
so I can expect something a'priori - you're welcome to do so ;)
Some questions involve best practices, however. I understand
that all mileages vary, but perhaps you can warn me (and others)
    about some known-not-working configurations...
    1) VDI core involves a replicated database (such as MySQL)
for redundant configuration of its working set storage...
1.1) What is the typical load on this database? Should it
just be "available", or should it also have a high mark
    in performance?
For example, we have a number of old Sun Netra servers
(UltraSPARC-II 450-650MHz) which even have a shared SCSI
JBOD (Sun StorEdge S1 with up to 3 disks).
Would these old horses plow the field well? (Some of them
do run our SRSS/uttsc tasks okay)
1.2) This idea seems crippled a bit anyway - if the database
master node goes down, it seems (but I may be wrong) that
one of the slave DB nodes should be promoted to a master
status, and then when the master goes up, their statuses
    should be sorted out again.
Or the master should be made HA in shared-storage cluster.
(Wonder question) Why didn't they use Sun DSEE or OpenDS
    with built-in multimaster replication instead?
    2) The documentation I've seen refers to a specific version
of VirtualBox - 2.0.8, as the supported platform for VDI3.
It was implied that there were specific features in that
build made for Sun VDI 3 to work with it. Or so I got it.
2.1) A few versions rolled out since that one, 3.0 is out
now. Will they work together okay, work but as unsupported
    config, not work at all?
2.2) If specifically VirtualBox 2.0.8 is to be used, is there
some secret build available, or the one from Old Versions
    download page will do?
    3) How much a bad idea is it to roll out a POC deployment
(up to 10 virtual desktop machines) with VirtualBox VMs
running on the same server which contains their data
(such as Sun Fire X4500 with snv_114 or newer)?
3.1) If this is possible at all, and if the VM data is a
(cloned) ZFS dataset/volume, should a networked protocol
(iSCSI) be used for VM data access anyway, or is it
possible (better?) to use local disk access methods?
3.2) Is it possible to do a POC deployment (forfeiting such
features as failover, scalability, etc.) on a single
    machine alltogether?
3.3) Is it feasible to extend a single-machine deployment
to a multiple-machine deployment in the future (that
    is, without reinstalling/reconfiguring from scratch)?
    4) Does VBox RDP server and its VDI interaction with SRSS
have any specific benefits to native Windows RDP, such
as responsiveness, bandwidth, features (say, microphone
    input)?
Am I correct to say that VBox RDP server enables the
touted 3D acceleration (OpenGL 2.0 and DX8/9), and lets
connections over RDP to any VM BIOS and OSes, not just
    Windows ones?
4.1) Does the presence of a graphics accelerator card on
the VirtualBox server matter for remote use of the VM's
(such as through a Sun Ray and VDI)?
4.2) Concerning the microphone input, as the question often
asked for SRSS+uttsc and replied by RDP protocol limits...
Is it possible to pass the audio over some virtualized
device for the virtual machine? Is it (not) implemented
    already? ;)
    5) Are there known DO's and DONT's for VM desktop workloads?
For example, simply office productivity software users
and software developers with Java IDEs or ongoing C/C++
compilations should have different RAM/disk footprints.
Graphics designers heavy on Adobe Photoshop are another
breed (which we've seen to crawl miserably in Windows
RDP regardless of win/mstsc or srss/uttsc clients).
Can it be predicted that some class of desktops can
virtualize well and others should remain "physical"?
NB: I guess this is a double-question - on virtualization
of remote desktop tasks over X11/RDP/ALP (graphics bound),
as well as a question on virtualization of whole desktop
    machines (IO/RAM/CPU bound).
    6) Are there any rule-of-thumb values for virtualized
HDD and networking filesystems (NFS, CIFS) throughput?
(I've seen the sizing guides on VDI Wiki; anything else
    to consider?)
For example, the particular users' data (their roaming
profiles, etc.) should be provisioned off the networked
storage server, temporary files (browser caches, etc.)
should only exist in the virtual machine, and home dirs
with working files may better be served off the network
    share altogether.
I wonder how well this idea works in real life?
In particular, how well does a virtualized networked
or "local" homedir work for typical software compile
tasks (r/w access to many small files)?
    7) I'm also interested in the scenario of VMs spawned
from "golden image" and destroyed after logout and/or
    manually (i.e. after "golden image"'s update/patching).
It would be interesting to enable the cloned machine
to get an individual hostname, join the Windows domain
(if applicable), promote the user's login to the VM's
local Administrators group or assign RBAC profiles or
sudoer permissions, perhaps download the user's domain
roaming profile - all prior to the first login on this
    VM...
Is there a way to pass some specific parameters to the
VM cloning method (i.e. the user's login name, machine's
    hostname and VM's OS)?
If not, perhaps there are some best-practice suggestions
on similar provisioning of cloned hosts during first boot
(this problem is not as new as VDI, anyways)?
    8) How great is the overhead (quantitative or subjective)
of VM desktops overall (if more specific than values in
sizing guide on Wiki)? I've already asked on HDD/networking
    above. Other aspects involve:
How much more RAM does a VM-executing process typically
use than is configured for the VM? In the JavaOne demo
webinar screenshots I think I've seen a Windows 7 host
with 512Mb RAM, and a VM process sized about 575Mb.
The Wiki suggests 1.2 times more. Is this a typical value?
Are there "hidden costs" in other VBox processes?
How efficiently is the CPU emulated/provided (if the VBox
host has the relevant VT-x extensions), especially for
    such CPU-intensive tasks as compilation?
*) Question from our bookkeeping team:
Does creating such a POC lab and testing it in office's
daily work (placing some employees or guests in front of
virtual desktops instead of real computers or SR Solaris
desktops) violate some licenses for Sun VDI, VirtualBox,
Sun Rays, Sun SGD, Solaris, etc? (The SRSS and SSGD are
licensed; Solaris is, I guess, licensed by the download
form asking for how many hosts we have).
Since all of the products involved (sans SGD) don't need
a proof of license to install and run, and they can be
downloaded somewhat freely (after quickly clicking thru
the tomes of license agreements), it's hard for a mere
admin to reply such questions ;)
If there are some limits (# of users, connections, VMs,
CPUs, days of use, whatever) which differentiate a legal
deployment for demo (or even legal for day-to-day work)
from a pirated abuse - please let me know.

  • ALEAUD in IDOC to File Scenario

    Hi,
I have a IDOC to file scenario in which im sending the PAYEXT IDOC from SAP to a bank as the IDOC-XML.
ie the user will create a payment in the SAP system , this shoud trigger an IDOC to XI. XI puts the IDOC-XML sturcture into a FTP folder path from which the bank will pick it up. Now the bank has to send an acknowledgement(asynchronously) that the payment was processed. And this response should be captured and returned to the user.
can we use ALEAUD as the acknowledgement or does using ALEAUD make no sense here?

    Hi,
Assuming that the bank will send you a file to the FTP server you can simply pick up this file and mapi it to the Systat IDoc. I would assumt that the IDoc status's would not be in the file so you would have to do some value mapping or other logic to determine the IDoc status codes that you want.
The IDoc is very simple with few fields so the mapping should not be a problem.
Please note you do not use BPM for this scenario. In essence this would be a new flow of File --> PI --> IDoc
Import the STATUS.SYSTAT IDoc into the Design and play from there, you can make a POC now and test the functionality which would probably be best for you at this point.
Let me know if you need more details

    Hi Gurus,
Need your help. I'm working on a IDOC to File scenario. I'm using CREMDM.CREMDM04 as outbound Interface & small structure VEND_FILE_IN_MI as Inbound Interface. Though I've configured the receiver Communication Channel as a File Adapter with proper Inbound Interface I'm seeing the message getting failed which is showing CREMDM.CREMDM04 as both Outbound & Inbound interface and pointing a Receiver Agreement issue . The Receiver service is coming Properly, only the Interface is coming wrong as the sender interface. I've checked both Receiver Agreement & Receiver determination and found the Receiver Service, Communication Channel & Interface are perfectly mapped there, I cross checked the same Configurations in IE via SXI_CACHE after full Cache copy.
    Error Message:
No receiver agreement found for sender -SAPERP to receiver -IDOC2FileReceiver,urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages
    Error  Category : Outbounding
    Error ID : CO_TXT_OUTBINDING_NOT_FOUND

                                         VEND_IDOC_OUT_Channel
    4. In Receiver Agreement Configured the receiver service IDOC2FileReceiver aging sender service SAPERP & Interface VEND_IDOC_OUT_MI.
    5. In Interface Determination Specified the Inbound Interface VEND_FILE_IN_MI and Interface Mapping VEND_IDOC_FILE_IMAP
    6. In Receiver Agreement specified the receiver communication Channel IDOC2FileChannel against Receiver Service & Interface.
I used the Configuration wizard in my second attempt to make sure the sequence of configuration.
Can anyone help me identifying what's going wrong. I'm very new to XI and basically this  is the first assignment I'm working on.

    Hi Babu,
In the Inbound data type all the fields have MinOccurance = 0 and MaxOccurances unbounded.

  • ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

    Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
    My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?
    Best regards,
    Steven

    Hi Abhishek,
This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna  maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Large file doesn't work in a message-splitting scenario

    Hello,
I'm trying to measure the XI performance in a message-splitting scenario by having the file adapter to pull the xml file below and send it to XI to perform a simple "message split w/o BPM" and generate xml files for each record in another folder.   I tried 100, 500, 1000 records and they all turned out fine.  Once I tried the 2000-records case, the status of that message is WAITING in RWB and I checked sxmb_moni, the message is in "recorded for outbound messaging", I couldn't find any error.
Is there some kinda of threshold that can be adjusted for large files?  Thank you.

    Hello,
The Queue ID is "XBTO1__0000".  I double-clicked it, it took me to the "qRFC Monitor (Inbound Queue) screen, and showed a XBT01_0000 queue with 3 Entries.
I double-clicked on that, and it took me to another screen that showed a queue with same same and "Running" in Status.
I double-clicked on that, and i saw three entries.  For the latest entry, its StatusText says "Transaction recorded".
I double-clicked on that, it took me to Function Builder:Display SXMS_ASYNC_EXEC.
    What do I from here?

  • A POC in SAP PI

    Hello All,
I have to do one POC in PI.
The requirment is....for ex if we have three different mapping ussed in a single scenario and the maaping is either XSLT or JAVA mapping. Then we have to dump the output of every mapping on the file system and then this output will send to other mapping.
    I have found three method.
    1) By using BPM and File adapter
    2) By writing the Java code so that after calling every style sheet a java program runs and we can write the output.....but i donot know hoe to do this...
    3) To find the table in SAP where all the payload get stored and from there picking the data and then writing on to the server....In this the problem is wat is the table name...where i can found it and on what basis i will pick up the data...
    Plz help

    hi hemant,
I ll suggest to go with BPM...
for the 3rd option i dont think that this can be possible..
bez mapping is a java componenet and accessing abap table from java part is not possible.
if u go through u ll find that SXSPEMAS, SXMSPMAST, SXMSMSTATT, SMPPRE13  are tha main abap table which storing all the info regarding message flow in sxmb_moni.
but here u ll not find any of the table which storing message pay load. please make a note that XI stores the payload in a hexadecimal format and cant be retrieved just by accessing a table field. u have to fetch the message payload using the XI message MSG_ID. The class CL_XMS_PERSIST provides a method called READ_MSG_ALL which reads a message using the message GUID and version.but this all are not possible in java componenet .
may be using abap mapping this can be possible, i am not sure..

  • POC calculations of internal activity and service activities

    Hi,
I need some help regarding POC.
In the scenario, I am using two activities----Internal and service.
The internal Activity is used only for scheduling and confirmation of activities. There is a work center attached to it, but there is no cost attached to it.
The service activity is only related to cost.
Now, I want to calculate the POC for internal activity similar to the MSP i.e, POC calculated at the activity level will role up to give the POC at the WBS level ( this POC will  be related to the POC as per the confirmation of the work that is the actual % of completion).
To calculate the EV only the cost from the service activity will work. i.e, the actual cost which is coming from the RA Bill (ML81n) and the planned cost from the services in the service activity. So this POC will be different from the POC calculate in the internal activity confirmation.
How to map both the scenarios in the same project ?
    Kindly furnish some idea.
    Regards,
    A. Bose

    Hi Abhra,
You can use both activity types if required but I would recommed you to look up on the three types of activities so that you are able to choose the best option that fits your business requirement:
    1) Internal
    2) External
    3) Service
You can use confirmations for both service as well as internal activities. This will help you with your POC calculation as the values will be aggregated to the WBS level. I tried to inquire from you which EV method you are using because that may assist you in determining the POC of activities (either service or internal) based on specific requirements.
Now for EV to work you need to plan cost at the activity level for fair reflection (please note that this is also aggregated at the WBS level therefore if you do not plan cost at activity level, you will however get some estimated value at the WBS) of earned value. Based on your statements, I assume that EV is being calculated for the service activity correctly (as it has planned and probably actual cost) but not for the internal activity. I'm afraid without planned and actual cost, EV cannot be calculated. Have you tried using cost from the work center (which is assigned to a cost center)? You may use activity types in the confirmations as well.
Please let me know if this is what you were looking for.

  • Scenarios without SUS

    Hi,
I'm working with SRM 7.0 EhP2 and I want to configure the  supplier qualification scenario ( Registration, prescreening ecc..) and the function of POC (purchase order confirm). In my istallation is not expected PI and so I think is not possible to use the SUS scenario. My question is: Is it possible to configure these scenarios without SUS? Could you please advise me? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You need PI in ROS if you are using ROS in conjunction with SUS. Say after selecting a vendor you now want to do business with this vendor, so you will have to push him from SRM to SUS system. PI is needed for this push.
And yes for document exchange (PO/PO response/ASN/IV) between you and the supplier you need SUS

  • For File 2 File Scenario any thing i need to create SLD? No  ???

    Hi Experts
Howmany scenario's i can create with out touching the SLD?
I can create the Business servious and execute the scenario ?
Can any give me the list ...howmany we can do like this ?
    Adv thanks for your Answers
    --- Rakesh

    Hi,
See You can create the Business Service instead of Business system for File2File Scenario, because you will use the physical path of Xi server to place the file or pick the file.right.
Business Services for only pilated or POCs can be usefull.and also grouping the cross-systems in our scenarios..
But if your interface is dealing with the external system either in sender or receiver you should have the respective technical system and business system
i mean IDoc related scenarios and Proxies related and so on..
