XI POS Integration
Hi,
Can anybody share the documents of SAP Retail - XI - POS(Point of Sale),Here POS is the third party system.
What would be the major difference between POS integration with other normal scenarios?
Thanks in advance,
Esha

Using Enterprise service for POS integration to POSDM
Hi
I have few question on using Enterprise Service for POS Inbound .
1. Is it possibe to get this XML schema for Enterprise Service
2. Lets say we have to use a third party POS to integarte POSDM via PI. But then if we don't want to do any transformation in SAP PI, then can we use the following option:
SAP POS sends the data in the ES XML format
SAP PI just transports this to POSDM
I do see some drawbacks of POS sending the data in the ES service format. As this means, if any change needs to be done based on any new requirements, we need to change the source code. However the above option should still be technically possible?
Any reference if the above approach had been used in any projects. We have always used the following flow:
POS--> PI---> POSDM . PI to POSDM is through the RFC /POSDW/CREATE_TRANSACTIONS_EXT.
Regards,
FazilaHi Fazila,
The ES bundle "PointOfSaleTransactionERPBulkCreateRequest_In" can be used to transfer POS transactions to POS Data Management directly.
In order to access the above-mentioned ES, please use the Integration Builder in your PI system in transaction SXMB_IFR and follow the link to the Integration Repository.
This structure can be enhanced to capture additional information.
Award point if useful.

Third party POS Integration with SAP IS-Retail
Hi,
I want to Integrate SAP ERP (Retail) system with a third-party POS system Using PI.
Could you please describe me what are the inbound and Outbound IDOC is used to integrate POS system.
Please Give me the IDOC name with functional details.
Thanks
Laxmi BhushanOutbound will depend on the POS system requirements and the master data maintained in ERP.
I have seen as the primary outbound (article and price) either of these:
IDoc WBBDLD03 = The Assortment List Material Data IDoc
and more commonly
IDoc WP_PLU03
For Best Practices, including process flows and the list of IDocs to consider (slide 12 outbound, slide 14 inbound), please review:

POS Integration in 15 different locations(WAN)

We are developing POS for a chain of 15 stores which are located in different locations. We finished and tested it for LAN and it works fine.We developed our application using the following:
OS:Windows 98
Application Server:JBOSS
Database:Interbase
Front end UI desing:Java swings
BackEnd :EJB
And also we tested the application using Different static IP's.(IN 2 locations)One IP as a server and Another IP as a client.
While opening our application It could open but it takes more time for it. And also our application is very slow during updation of any data .
So you please tell any suggestions to recover this problem.
Awaiting for your valuable replyit is probably the material you put it on. also the lower the signal the hotter it will get.

Integration between SAP POS Triversity and SAP POS DM using XI
Hi Experts,
my company is plannig to integrate SAP POS with POS DM using XI. I need to speak to some 1 who has already gone through the process, as for this there are bottlenecks in 2 areas initially .
1. GM Store Connectivity is an object supposed to be available in market place in .TPZ file needs to be imported into the XI development system. This object is not available in the market place of SAP as per url "
http://sap.com/xi/GMStoreConnectivity. " Without this , I cannot go any further!
2. The PDF file containing entire processing steps " SAP Business Package for Store Connectivity POS Integration
Configuration Guide" Release 2.0 April 4, 2007, is incomplete. Is there any one who can offer me with the latest version of this document in PDF. Or is there any one who has worked with this PDF, so that I can discuss the same .
Thanks in advance to all of you,

IBM POS with SAP Issue.
Dear Experts,
I am working at client site, have a peculiar issue please help by providing your suggessions or ideas to solve it.
Here is the Issue : Every time a Transaction is completed at the terminal the data will be written (Appended) to the PTLOGXXX.dat file where XXX resembles the Terminal Number, and once the EOD (End of Day) is run it triggers a DOS (basic) program in the IBM POS Server which converts the .dat files to .txt files and once the conversion happens it triggers the inbound.bat file which sends this PTLOGXXX.txt files to the Unix Server where the information will be spread across to the Oracle Database tables and then the IDOC Conversion happens and IDOC's are sent to the ERP (SAP IS Retail) system.
The issue is that the clients wants to make the system online and make sure that POS Transactions are being sent to SAP system at regular intervals, and secondly the Process of getting the txt files to be converted to IDOCu2019s is taking a lot of time (close to about 2 Hrs) and they wanted to reduce this time.
Appreciate your help.
Regards,
Riaz. For your suggested solution are you considering using SAP PI? are there any SAP tools that let you fully integrate and read, in near real time, from an IBM POS 4690? everything I´ve read about (RDS Shopper Insight or Sales Analytics 4 Retail) deal with SAP POS.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CK/Exchange+Infrastructure+-+SAP+POS+Integration
I need to integrate an IBM POS 4690 in near real time and feed it into a HANA box, this customer is not an SAP ERP customer. Any ideas? -
Hi,
We are currently using SAP ECC6.0, not on IS Retail.
As we have quite a few POS machines being used in the business, we would like to interface POS with ECC6.0.
Is there any third party tools available in the market for achieving this solution?
Thanks
Ram.Hi Ram
SAP offers regarding POS integration to IS Retail basically two options:
- POS DM (see http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=113246846)
- classic POS interface direct in ECC (WPUBON/WPUFIB/WPUTAB IDoc's for POS transactions)
You want to interface directly in to a non IS Retail ECC system.
Question is what do you want to interface only financial postings or also goodsmovements?
How are the stores represented in SAP (customers/plants?)
The transaction logs (TLOG) info from the POS should be converted to a IDoc that will represent you functional needs on the ECC side.
For this mapping SAP offers SAP PO (proces orch), formally know as PI (or before that XI).
There are also several middleware solutions from third party vendors that can work with SAP.
In such a tool you have to map the TLOG to the desired IDoc you want to use in SAP.
(IDoc could also e replaced with a BAPI/RFC for instance).

Third Party POS System Recommendation For SAP IS-Retail
Greetings All IS-Retail Guru,
Would appreciate your input on this. We are planning to implement SAP ( with IS-Retail ) in our company and in the midst of replacing the legacy POS system.
Since we are in the lookout for a new POS system, we would like to get a 3rd system can integrate with SAP
( POS integration ) seamlessly with minimal effort/customization.
Appreciate if you can recommend potential vendors that fits the bill and if possible, the pros and cons of the vendors.
Looking forward to your input here.
Many thanks in advance.

I have to post it to R3 using IDOC WPUUMS
Sender side i have to use File adapter as i have to pic up a file from FTP.
Receiver side i have to use IDOC adapter a i have to post it to R3.
What are the things i have to do with respect to IS-Retail fundamentals, please explain in detail.
What kind of mapping i have to use.

Edited by: Dheeraj Kumar on Oct 1, 2009 10:23 AMHi Dheeraj,
the challenge with the "map the TLOG and create WPUUMS Idoc" is that inside the TLOG you are getting receipt based data. But for the WPUUMS IDOC you'd be expecting to see aggregated information.
The better and recommended way to integrate SAP POS with SAP Retail is to use the delivered standard integration with the following two data streams:
1. SAP Retail master data (e.g. articels, prices, promotions) to SAP PI to SAP POS
2. SAP POS - Transnet - SAP PI - SAP POS DM - SAP BW/SAP Retail
The advantage would be that aggregation is handled in POS DM and you have all the detail available in SAP BW and that you will be able to utilize the data collected for other processes as well.
Please check the Wiki for POS Integration which will give you a good overview about the integration and covered scenarios:
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CK/ExchangeInfrastructure-SAPPOS+Integration
For SAP POS DM you will find a wiki here:
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Retail/SAPPOSDM%28SAPPoint-of-SaleDataManagement%29
Additionally there are two courses focussing on this topics:
Integration: W26TGI
POS Data Management: W26POS

POS - XI POSDM - R/3 Implementation.
Hi experts,
Currently I am into the POS - XI POSDM - R/3 Implementation scenerio.I hav doubts.
Data frow from POS to XI to POSDM to R/3. . Similarly data from R/3 to XI - POS.
I wish 2 know from the experts, wether they agree with the use of Store Connnectivity2.0 in XI. In that case , I see there are around 30 standard mappings in that SCV Connnectivity .
currently I am also goin through a document called SAP Business Package for Store Connectivity
POS Integration Configuration Guide. But I wish to know,,, that if i follow the SCV Store Connectivity 2.0, then I think I wont hav any option for Z development, as all 30 mappings in tehm are NON Editable....
axctually I wish to speak more on it wid som expert who has alreadyy carried out the process.
Is there any expert, who has any such experience exposure?
Regards,
Arnab.Michael / All ,
thanks for the reply. I just wanted to confirm my concept, wether or not at all it is possibe to edit standard components, like Store Connectivity, was just wondering, might there be such functionality.
Actually was lookin for som 1 who has worked in such a scenerio.
I needed to know,, If a perticular standard mapping is satisfyin the business requirement, say the source and targets are fine, and the source fields and target fields are satisfyin the business, and I can see all necessary stuff like data types to intrface mapping all OK in the IR, then , if i wish to use this then , should i start with development of Business System/ service , Technical Service in the SLD nad then do necessary CUSTOM settings like communication channels, RD, ID, SA, RA settings in ID?
I mean is my vision / thinkng OK??
Pls comment.
Pls , if my query is not clear, then revert back with ur doubt!
Regards,
Arnab.
