XI - restrict access to Communication Channel and Receiver Agreement

Hello Experts,
We are trying to restrict the access to certain communication channels and receiver agreement in our XI system. We are able to restrict access to business service but not the afore mentioned objects.
Our XI system version is 7.0 with SP level 17.
Thanks
Vijaya

We raised an OSS message and found that the issue was due to a missing JAVA patch

  • Dynamic Communication Channel in Receiver Agreement

    Hi Experts,
I have the situation: one Receiver System with one Inbound Interface. This Receiver System is able to receive messages on this interface through different Communication Channels.
I want to have a possobility, based on message content, to dynamically select which Communication Channel to use.
So is it possible to do such a config, without dublicating the Inbounb Interface with a different name (maybe to set some values in Java Mapping?)?
    Best Regards

I have one Receiver System, so maybe, you mean conditions in Interface Determination
No. I meant receiver determination only. You use same receivers in more than one cases.
As asked, why do you need multiple channels?

  • 5 Sender communication channels and 1 receiver channel

My scenario demands to handle 5 different select queries from single data base.
I need to have 5 sender communication channels for editing an employee and only 1 receiver channel at receiver side and i'm using one common Functional module to handle.
Can i handle the above situation in one single interface??? like having 5 sender communication channel at sender side and 1 receiver communication channel at receiver side??
    Thanks
    LN

like having 5 sender communication channel at sender side and 1 receiver communication channel at receiver side??
Yes it is possible....if it is not possible for you to combine the query into one.
How is the data to be processed? Is the data pulled by the 5 sender channels, to be merged into one target message? Is yes then you have to make use of a BPM.
If the Data from 5 sender channels will be individually forwarded  to the receiver channel then there is no need of a BPM.

  • Sender and receiver agreement not cerated

    Hi .
I am creating configuration scenario in ID by importing the integration scenario which i created in the IR.
I crated communication channel template also and i added it to the integration scenario in connections.
    Query 1?
do i have to create Communication channels also.....even After creating communication channel template (because it is not seen the ID below communication channel )
    Query 2 ?
once i transfer this integration scenario from IR to ID and cerate the configuration scenario (sender and receiver agreements are not getting created automatically)peace tell me what is the reason???.
and how can i resolve this...
    thanks
    shakif

    Hi Mohamed,
    <b>Query 1?</b>
<i>do i have to create Communication channels also.....even After creating communication channel template</i>
Yes You have to create as it's just a template that u created in IR. But u can use the same for creating CC.
Check this link for what's the Diff. B/w CCT in IR and CC in ID
    Re: Communication Channels
    <b>Query 2 ?</b>
<i>once i transfer this integration scenario from IR to ID and cerate the configuration scenario</i>
    Yes. it will create automatically.
Just check my posting in Wiki for simple File to IDOC scenario might be u missing something

  • Is associating communication channel to sender agreement necessary

    Hi,
Is it necessary to associate communication channel to sender agreement to pick the message from the specified source directory

    Hi Santhosh,
To pick the message from sender side , sender agreement should be required, thre are some cases where we dont need the sender agreement for IDoc Adapter and HTTP adapter. bcz these two adapters are resides on Integration server.

  • Ver 8.8 Restricted access to BP accounts and activities

Currently, I am not aware of a way to restrict access to certain BP accounts, including the related activities for a BP. For example, our bank, HR consultants, etc. where I would like to limit the access to these BP accounts and related attachments to certain users, such as our management group.
Primary importance would be to limit access to related activities where sensitive information may be stored in the form of emails, attachments, etc.
Our previous CRM allowed us to flag BP accounts as restricted and set up permissions to authorized users.
Is anyone aware of a way to limit access to these activities?
If not, this is a great enhancement for future releases.

Current system design has only set up confidential GL Account but not for BP. You probably need to post it on the R&D forum here:

  • JMS (Sender Communication Channel) and MQ in Mainframe (Legacy) System

    Hi All,
Can we use JMS Sender Communication Channel in XI that runs on Windows 2003 server to DIRECTLY poll messages from MQ in Mainframe (Legacy) system??
I understand that we can install MQ on XI server and have mainframe push the messages to XI MQ so that JMS can poll but wanted to see if there is a way to do this without having MQ on XI server.
If you know of any documentation regarding this, can you please post it?
    Thanks,

  • Same IDoc, different communication channels for receiver

    Hi,
In my file-to-IDoc scenario I need to send the same IDoc type to 2 different receiver channels. But these channels are created in the same service, and also the sender service is the same in both cases, so I cannot create two receiver agreements (one per channel).
I've tried to create a message interface with the IDoc as message type, allowing me to create two receiver agreement this way. But then sxmb_moni shows a kind of error like this:

I've been searching in the forum, but I couldn't find anything useful for this issue. Can you help me with this?

  • Communication Channel and JMS

    Hello Experts,
I am a newbie to SAP Xi so my question may sound a bit odd: please advise me.
I would like to send a JMS after the end and successful completion of a Communication Channel.
This Communication Channel is doing sync of an external DB with the SAP DB.
I have setup a free JMS server from Sun (version 4.3). My environment is full Windows 64bits.
I know I need to setup the proper JMS drivers in SAP Xi to allow the use of the JMS module adaptor,
but I'm unsure of the steps I need to follow to change the behavior of my communication channel.
    Please suggests Experts.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Saule 73

Thanks a lot for this documentation!
it has proven very usefull for the implementation of a JMS object inside Xi.
This is definitely a step forward...
But I am still missing an element in the puzzle :
    Once I have:
    _ a configured JMS server (Sun 4.3),
_ the JMS object (sender) defined in SAP,
_ a communication ready to be used,
If I want the communication channel to trigger the sending of the JMS, must I :
_ write down a Entreprise JavaBean module to do the trick (to be included into the communication channel)
    OR
is there another way to ask the Communication channel to do it (preferably not involving to much development)?
    Thanks experts,
    Saule73

  • Restricting access for import manager and syndicator

    Hi All,
I wanted to know whether is there any way on how we can restrict the access to import manger and syndicator.
I have one scenario whether user needs to be given the access to data manager only but not to other components. It is ok if they are able to open but should not be able to import or syndicate.
    Please help in this
    Thanks
    Nitin

    Hi Nitin,
No i get your point Nitin,I said if a unwanted user logs into Import manager he can try to add/modify/replace record, this can be stopped if he is not given the rights. For this go to Console,Admin table and goto Roles and set rights and privileges on that.
whenever a user logs into Import Manager he has to give his user id and password, and from there we can control this.
If he tries to import records,it will fail.also if he tries to modify map,it wil fail too.
To get a clearer picture try doing it for one user and run this scenario.
    An excerpt froim reference guide:
"The groups and functions displayed in the Name column are listed in Table 89; access privileges for each function are directly editable in the Functions pane"
    record - Add records
     Modify records
     Modify checked out records
     Delete records
     Merge records
     Merge checked out records
     Protect records
     Unprotect records
     Check out records
     Check out new records
     Check in owned records
     Roll back owned records
     Check in non-owned records
     Roll back non-owned records
 Modify join permissions for non-owned records
Consolidation and distribution - Add import maps
     Modify import maps
     Delete import maps
     Add syndication maps
     Modify syndication maps
     Delete syndication maps
     Enable key mappin
You can control these setting privileges in Console.

  • Helping the Community: Giving and Receiving Kudos

    Members,
We wanted to highlight one of the major components of the Verizon Community – Kudos.  Giving Kudos is a way for community members to give positive feedback to another member based on the contents of a particular forum post.  Simply put, it tells the person receiving the Kudo that their post was helpful to the discussion and deserves to be recognized.
Besides recognizing individual excellence in the community, using Kudos lets the receiving member know their time and effort in assisting with a question is appreciated, thereby increasing the likelihood they will continue being supportive within the community.  In addition, giving and receiving Kudos is a component of the Community Ranking process.
    How to Give Kudos
If a member views a post that they believe warrants congratulations, they may give that poster a Kudo by:
On the message from the member you’d like to give the Kudo to, click on the yellow Kudo button on the right side of the post.
Once clicked, the Kudu image will show the addition of at least one (1) Kudo point.  Multiple members can Kudo the same post, so that post can be Kudo’d a maximum of 99 times.
Once you have given the post a Kudo, each party will receive credit – the original poster received points in the Kudos Received category and the member who awarded the Kudo receives Kudos Given credit.  Kudos can be applied to Verizon Community Forums, Blogs and Idea Exchange entries.  The most frequently Kudo’d community members are displayed on the community homepage.
    Important notes about Kudos
Members cannot Kudo their own posts, nor can members Kudo the same post more than once.
Anyone who has contributed a post to the community may give a Kudo to a post.
Kudos from some members may have increased weight, e.g., instead of one point for each Kudo Given, these members Kudos count for two (2) points.
Be mindful of Terms and Conditions
As always, we welcome your feedback and ask
that you post any comments or suggestions you may have.
    Sincerely,
    The Verizon Community Team

    There are a few ways:
    - Work on the wiki, if you like writing documentation for distros.
    - Improve Arch's system utilities - just wander around in the bugtracker until you find something unassigned that looks like something you could tackle.
    - Write random utilities like I have and throw them in Community Contributions
If you want to open your own mirror, you basically just need good bandwidth, both up and down, and either an uncapped link or a very expansive cap. From there, the mirror maintainers probably have a set of scripts set up to keep all the mirrors in sync.

  • Tables for Receiver Determination and Receiver agreement

    Hello Experts,
Is anyone aware if there is a some table which gets updated whenever we create a receiver determination or receiver agreement in PI. If possible can you guys give me the table names.
    Thanks in advance,
    ~ Suraj

    hi Suraj,
SAP XI is built having two stack the abap and the java stack. Its not all that correct that only cache info resides on the java stack and nothing on the abap stack.... Its like black box and the internal workings are hidden from end users ... only sap would be able to tell you. As someone in this thread has given his point of view that only cache info is stored on the java stack which may be correct but how much so is open to debate. I wonder whether you have played around with the table that you come across with the transaction sara.
    Suggestions are most welcome
