Xi3.0 Monitoring using a Central Monitoring system

Hi Guys
Has any of you managed to integrate XI3.0 SLD into Solution Manager 3.10 SLD or is it just not possible?
Have you figured out how to setup XI3.0 and Alert management to integrate that into a Central Monitoring system?
/tobbe

Hi Guys
I guess the obvious solution to my very own question would be to...
1. Install a 640 J2EE instance as a MASTER SLD
2. Configure both XI and Solution Manager to call "MASTER SLD" for info.
I will produce a document and publish it here as soon as I am done with the installations and configurations
Thanks for a great TechED

    Hi,
I have deployed BTM for Demo purpose. Its an EAR files.
How do I start monitoring my services.
I also deployed SOA composite. But the services are not getting monitored.
Do I need to install any observer for the demo version too?
    Any pointers would be appreciated.

  • System monitoring work center and CEN system

    Hi everybody.
I'm setting up the central monitoring, using SSM as monitoring system. I'm also having a look at the work center for system monitoring; but I don't find how to link the central monitoring capabilities with this dashboard.
I mean, it looks the central monitoring does not provide any advantage to work with this work center, am I right? Anyone has experienced this?
    Thanks for your answers!!

    Hi!
    I've done finished this issue!
    Please follow steps below:
    1. Create activity type in T-Code: KL01
    2. Go to KP26 to create the realtionship between Cost Center and Activity.
Now you can see new activity in Costing tab.

  • Solution Manager - Central Monitoring

    Hi,
I keep on hearing the buzz word that Solution Manager would be used as central monitoring from PI 7.1 or later.
Can anyone explain more about this?
I was assuming that solution manager is just to store all the documents and processes.

  • Patching a Central SLD System

    Hi
we use a central SLD (system landscape directory) in our XI landscape.
the disadvantage is, that the XI system is not running well, when patching the central sld system.
is there a guideline from sap, to minimize downtime of the XI system, when patching the central sld system ? or do you have good ideas, to keep the XI system running, when patching the sld system ?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Java Stack for Central monitoring system

I believe for central monitoring with only ABAP stack is sufficient to monitor both remote ABAP and JAVA stacks. For this purpose CCMS and GRMG can be used. My questing is there any need to have JAVA stack in central monitoring system? If yes, what are the things that only ABAP stack can not do alone and JAVA stack is required in central monitoring system?

You can use RZ21 or System monitoring through work center. From Solution manager 7.1, you need to use work center only. So, I would suggest you to use work center only.

  • SALRT_CREATE_API with CBMA and/or Central Monitoring using Solman

    Hi,
Does anyone know if function SALRT_CREATE_API can be used to raise alerts in Component Based Message Alerting (CBMA) and/or Centralised Monitoring in Solman? I understand SALRT_CREATE_API worked with the classic Alert Framework.
    Che

    Hi Michal,
Thank you for jumping in on this thread. Great timing with your blog
However the following thread suggests we can still use SALRT_CREATE_API:
XI Alerting and Central Monitoring : some alerts remain on PI
"Try removing the "CentralMonitoringServer-XIAlerts" RFC connection from both systems (proxy and PI). Then, ensure all com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.* parameters are configured correctly on PI (restart system to apply changes on exchange profile) and try executing the scenarios again.
Check the target CCMS system the RSALERTDISP report and see if the alerts are being received there."
Perhaps the above only applies in the case of a dual stack? I am not quite ready to try some examples but when I do then perhaps options will become clearer to me. I will try to remember to update this thread with what I find.
    Thanks

  • Solution Manager and external Central Monitoring system

We have a Solution Manager system SOL and a Central Monitoring system
CEN.  The monitored system SDS is configured to report CCMS data to CEN
and I wanted SOL to be able to access this data.  After configuring SDS
to CEN, CEN that the following entry in RZ21:
    SDS#SDS_RZ20_COLLECT#SDS_RZ20_ANALYZE
After performing the wizard in SOL, SOL now has the following entries
    in RZ21:
    SDS2#SM_SDS2CLNT200_READ#SM_SDS2CLNT200_TRUSTED
This would indicate to me that SOL is reading the CCMS information
directly from the monitored system, rather than via CEN.
In the 'Setup System Monitoring' of Solution Manager the Central
Monitoring System and CEN destination are SOL and NONE respectively.
Is this configuration correct, and if not how do I correctly configure
    it?
Is the monitored system now only reporting data to SOL, or is it
reporting to both CEN and SOL?

I have set up LINUX and virtual agent configs a couple of times, and it has worked pretty ok.
What I found was that you might have to download a newer version of PLINK.exe and put that onto your OLT system.
(with the packaged version, I also had some communication issues)
Try to download the lates plink.exe and see if that works…
(you may want to restart you system after replacing plink.exe)

  • System Monitoring using NetFlow.

    Hi,
I should implement a monitoring system for network security.
Analyzes network traffic capturing Netflow, by the network devices, for security purposes.
I wanted to know if I use netflow v5 full coverage of network security, or there are significant bugs, because not all network devices supports netflow v9.
    Thanks.

    Hi Naresh,
It actually depends on your client strategy, how you are trying to collect your third party to SAP.
    1) Can we push monitoring data from third party systems to ECC which can be psuhed to Solman by some means and viewed from Solman. How can we achieved this?
i am not sure any standard way you can do this, typically you need to have interface to connect the third party to SAP and feed data to SAP.  this interface should be given by 3rd party itself. even if it reached to ECC also how do you map this content as third party? if it pushed to CCMS MTE of ECC, then you can monitor this with latest Technical monitoring of solution manager 7.1  MAI.
    2) Installing Diagnostics Agent and SAPHostAgent on the third party system and configuring it in Solman.
This is the feasible way, there are lots of SAP guided doc for this, again the metrics for monitoring is depends on 3rd party and we have few BPMon Key figures for non abap
please check out Setup BPMon for Non ABAP
and Technical Monitoring for Non SAP
    Please check.
    Thanks

  • CCMS Agent Issue in Central Monitoring System

    Dear Guru's,
We are configuring the CCMS Agent in our landscape, while registering the CCMS Agent we're facing some issue.
CEN system - Only ABAP Stack - ECC 6.0 Ehp3
Target System - Double stack (ABAP + JAVA, Netweaver 2004s)
After completing the Visual Admin settings. Service file SAPCCMSR.99 has
been generated automatically. As per the help.sap the service file should
be SAPCCMSR.<Instance No.>, our instance no. was 00 but its was generated
    with 99 (SAPCCMSR.99).
Two RFC has been created in Double stack system and one RFC has been
    created in ABAP system.
    RFC in ABAP system :
    SAPCCMSR.HOSTNAME.00 - its not working
(Error Details, ERROR:program hostname.sapccmsr.00 not registered)
    RFC in Dual-stack System :
    SAP.CCMS.J2EE.SID - its working
    SAPCCMSR.HOSTNAME.00 - its not working
(Error Details, ERROR:program hostname.sapccmsr.00 not registered)
While testing the Remote System Topology, we're getting communication
    error.
In RZ21, Topology - Agents for Remote Systems - Display Overview, Agent
for SAP System SID tab, Agents for Remote SAP Systems, selecting the
available system (Dual stack system) and give Test Connection means
its throwing Error opening an RFC connection - SAPCCMSR.HOSTNAME.00
Could you please suggest, what we're missing.
    regards,
    Guna

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
What your said was rite, but I'm unable to get J2EE (Java Stack) alert information in RZ20 of the same system, coz., its dual stack system. If we don't have any issue in Java means it should be updated in RZ20 of the same system.
    In Dual-stack System:
RZ20 -> CCMS monitor sets -> SAP J2EE Monitor Template -> All Systems -> SID -> J2EE Engines, J2EE Applications, J2EE Log files... these are not updating here.
Could you kindly suggest for above issue.
    regards,
    Guna

  • How do I get LR to open on the secondary monitor in a two monitor iMac Retina system using Yosemite?

No matter what settings I use in Mission Control or in TotalSpaces2, LR (latest version) keeps opening on the main screen and I have to move it to the secondary monitor each time I restart it or change catalogs. It is irritating but also problematic in that LR seems to get lost on occasion when I use the main monitor for full sized images and will seemingly randomly put the full frame image on top of the main LR grid and control screens (on the secondary monitor) which forces me to close LR to get back to normal. So far I haven't been able to figure out any sequence that causes this to happen but there probably is one.
    I have:
    1. Tried with the possible combinations of "Displays have separate spaces" and Spaces assignments available by right clicking the program's icon in the Dock.
    2. Lowering the position of the secondary monitor in Display Arrangements (a strange suggestion via the Internet)
    3. Very politely asking LR to behave like all of the other programs.
    Any suggestions.

Exactly what Bob Levine said. Can confirm, running a two monitor display here.

  • Centralized monitoring in PI

    Hi
I have a question regarding centralized monitoring. Is it possible to monitor XML messages in the backend system from PI? They share the same transaction, SXI_MONITOR, but I have never heard of anyone doing this.
The reason why I am asking is that we have an outside-in approach for developing services. XSD is created in PI and proxies are generated in backend. Still, the call does not necessarily have to go through PI, but we would like to monitor the messages somehow.
In NetWeaver Admin there is a cross-component view for messages, can this be used for backend messages?
SAP also says that "The SAP NetWeaver Administrator for PI is not supported for use in production scenarios."..."SAP recommends that customers use the Runtime Workbench for PI monitoring in production scenarios and would not support the installation, configuration and usage of the SAP NetWeaver Administrator for PI." (Note 1247043). Are they stating that NWA has some nice functionality but we cannot use it in a productive environment?
    Thanks
    regards Ole

    Hi,
if your interface is configed through pi ,you could central monitor your messages in sxi_monitor(IS),if it is use proxy, you could also monitor messages about backend system in your RWB。
i heard someone  said that you can also central monitor the message which is used p2p。but i did a test about p2p,my p2p scenario is work well.
unfortunately i canu2019t monitor my in my pi rwb and even can't monitor the message in my sender and receiver sap system by transaction sxi_monitor.i donu2018t know if there are some add-on config for p2p sceanrio to monitor the messages, because we can't monitor the messages ,so i even don't  dare to use p2p technical in my real scenario although it has many  advantages。
can any one tell me what  is the right config for p2p secanrio  monitor.

  • Add a custom alert monitor set in Central Reports of NWA 2004s

    Hi,
I installed recently netweaver administrator 2004s to use central monitoring. I created a new CCMS monitor set with RZ20 and was hoping to see this set in the Monitoring -> Central Reports view set of the NWA (drop down box with all the Alert monitor sets defined in the CEN), but it wasn't there. Is there a way to add custom alert monitor sets created with RZ20 in the Central Reports "View Set" of the NWA ?
