Xi3 box LONG delay before the remote works

When I turn on my TV in the bedroom, it takes nearly 3 minutes before the box responds to any commands.  Guide, channel change, etc...  Nothing happens for several minutes.  Once it finally responds, it then works fine, but it should not take this long before anything happens.  I rebooted and nothing was fixed.  I just got this box installed yesterday too.  ANy idea what is going on?

  • When I type there's a long delay before the letters show up on the screen. Also when I backspace it goes crazy and erases entire sentences

This began several days ago and seems to be a problem in Firefox. I did download an update recently but don't thjink the problem developped simultaneously. When I used the computer's feature of resetting the computer to a prior day (May 19, before the update) I could not get Firefox to open at all. So I undid the reset but typing in Firefox is very difficult due to the extremely long delay in the letters I'm typing showing up.

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

  • The call was cancelled by the caller before the remote party answered

    Hi,
We have a Lync 2010 Enterprise deployment in a single site with 2 FE and Mediation Server collocated.
When dialling a number from a PSTN phone the call gets routed via our PBX/PBX Gateway/Mediation Server/FE Server to the desktop Lync client successfully.
As soon as the user answers the call with the Lync client the call 'hangs' and terminates without hearing anything on either side.
    The snooper logs show:
    Error:
    SIP/2.0 487 Request Terminated

Ms-client-diagnostics: 52092;reason="The call was cancelled by the caller before the remote party answered"

    Please help?

What kind of gateway are you using to connect to your PBX and how?  What is your media set to?  G.711 μ-law or a-law?  I'd check media settings there as a starting point.

  • Delay before the Delete option is active after selecting messages

Previously I could select numerous messages (Command-A) and immediately press the Delete button in the Mail menu bar to delete the selected emails.
Since the update, there is now a delay from the time the messages are selected until when the Delete icon is active and can be clicked. It stays grayed out for maybe a second or two, like it's still processing the previous select all command. Although not a big deal, it's worth noting there was no delay before the update.

    You ask:
So, how can I do that please?
    But you have already answered:
selecting the photos on Album view, then pressing CMND OPTION DELETE, then CNTRL-CLICKING on iPhoto's Trash icon and choosing "Empty Trash".
Sorry but I really don't understand what you're asking.
    Regards

    Hello,
I had that problem as well and the apple support suggested to turn off the LTE-mode to have a running system and try to exchange the micro-sim by my provider.
    THAT was not an option!
BUT it seems to solve my problem in the following way after trying a lot of possibilties:
In the menue properties/help (don't know the exact english word, because I run my phone in german)
I switched on the nice feature 'flash LED' by incomming calls, msgs, and push infos.
Today the flash feature was responding to different push notes very slowly.
By switching this feature off the LTE-mode-tochscreen-not-responding-problem disappeared.
We tried this on a other iphone, not having the metioned problem, and switched the LED-flash:
the problem appeared. Switching the LED-flash off: problem disappeared!
It seems to be a bug that the LED will hint Calls and MSGs in combination with the LTE mode!
treated my phone very hard today to double check, but its still ok.
    @Apple:
Please fix that issue in the next update.
Hope, this helps you guys as well.

  • Intermittent very long delay before login available

    Windows 7 64 - SP1 fully updated.
I have a few remaining Windows 7 desktops in my Domain.  Ocassionally (have not found a pattern) the user will boot up the computer or come back from lunch and try to unlock their computer.  The computer will go to a blank blue screen but no username
or password field will display.  The mouse is responsive.   After a very long delay the credential fields will display and the user can log in.  This delay can be 20 mins or more.   This seems to happen to the same computers but
only occasionally.  Sometimes a forced reboot is required.  After reboot the system usually works as expected.
When searching for this issue and resolutions to it, I don't seem to find this exact issue - or I am not wording it correctly in a search.
If this happened consistently, I would probably repair, or wipe and restore the system.   I am not seeing anything in the event log that would be related.
I look forward to your advice.
    Fred Zilz

    Hi Fred,
Since the delay occurred before your input the credential. It's not related with domain.
Let's aim at the Windows 7 computer itself. Generally, it should be the winlogon process cannot load successfully.
    Did you use Aero theme?
If yes, try disabling the Aero theme and use the Windows 7 Basic layout.
Meanwhile, logon with the local administrator and perform a clean boot to see if there is some other service conflict:

Also disconnect all network and all external hardware to check if it occurs again.

  • Long delay before connecting to internet

When i try inserting the ethernet cable to get internet, the internet works only after about 2-5 mins or so. When i boot windows, win 7 is immediately able to surf the internet once i put my ethernet wire in. ethernet wire is connected to the router. Is this long delay a normal thing?

On the Mac go to System Preferences->Network pane and at the top of the pane use the "Location" drop=down to make a new custom Location (calling it whatever you want). Then in the right hand of the pane hit the 'Apply button.
Something that you have done has messed up you Network settings on the network. making this new Location will let you start fresh on the network again.

  • 790GX-G65 long delay before POST

Hi there, when I turn my comp on there is a long delay, about 20 seconds or so, until it POSTs. There is a flashing cursor on the top left corner of the screen in the meantime. Afterwards it will boot up as normal and is stable. However, if I reboot the system there is no delay, it only happens when I shut down and then turn it on.
    Specs:
    Phenom II X4 810 2.6GHz
    4GB (2x 2GB) Corsair XMS3 1066 (unganged)
    GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB
BIOS is the latest version - v1.6
I browsed these forums but the other posts I found were about systems not POSTing at all. This seems to be a different problem.
    Thanks.

Don't forget to clear CMOS after the BIOS update, with the power cable unplugged first of course.
How did you go about updating BIOS?
    What PSU have you got?
If you have a different graphics card to try you should do so.
I updated via USB M-Flash and I did a CMOS reset.
My PSU is a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 470W
The only other graphics card I have is the on-board one, the rest are AGP.

  • Long delay before mail received sound

When I check my mail it may take nearly two minutes before the mail sound chimes after mail is received. For example, today when checking mail I got one short email. I saw the white progress bar at the bottom of the screen and the message that Mail was downloading one email. It was almost a full two minutes after that before the the mail sound chimed and the spinning wheel at the top of the page stopped. I usually have time to download, read and discard my email before the mail chime sounds. This was never the case on my 3GS running iOS 3. I now have the iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is Apple aware of it? Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Thanks.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I am trying to get a speaker dock that will play my 6thgen ipod by using the remote. So far I have not found one . Does anyone know if there is one that is made for the 6th gen?

Sheesh. That looks hard. I think it will fall over at this point:
"Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP" 'cos Thunderbird uses only the regular email protocols: POP, IMAP and SMTP.
Here (at work) we have in the past have had IMAP and SMTP enabled on our Exchange server so Thunderbird could then connect just like to any other regular internet-based service.
With the change here to outlook365/outlook 2010 I've had to switch to using DavMail which lets Thunderbird talk to the mail server using OWA.
I haven't (seriously) tried Exquilla. Whilst I have great respect for its author and some of his other add-ons, I saw no reason to use an add-on that required payment when DavMail works for free.

  • My iPad mini won't work at room temperature.  I have to warm it up in my hands/arms for 2-3 minutes before the screen works correctly.  Anyone else have this issue or know a solution?

Two or three weeks ago, I had a cracked screen replaced on my iPad Mini 2 with retina display (32G).  It worked perfectly for 2-3 weeks, so I don't know how relevant the screen repair is.  Anyway, the iPad is currently running iOS 8.1.3.  I completely reset it because I want to sell it, but recently, the screen display started to have issues.  One afternoon I turned it on and the screen was a faint gray with vertical streaks that went away after I turned it off then back on.  That night, the screen would stay black when I tried to turn it on.  It was a different black to being off, though.  When I try to turn it on it changes to a brighter black, if that makes sense.  I can see a change in the shade of black, but there's no color or app icons.  The sound works even when the screen doesn't.  The only way I can get it to turn on properly is if I hold it in my hands/arms for 2-3 minutes.  I think the heat from my hands has something to do with it.  It's just weird that regular room temperature seems to be too cold.  We've had a cold winter in NY this year and my iPad may have spent 1-2 hours in my cold car the day this happened, but I can't say for sure.  Has anyone else heard of this issue or does anyone have a solution?

    I Also have this problem!!
In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason.  At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident.  Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed.  Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees).  Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!!  Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.
